This thesis aims to examine how Pepetela’s (Angola) and João Ubaldo Ribeiro’s (Brazil) literatures use Angolan Africanities and Brazilian africanias to build in their works a resistance discourse to the formation of nation just as unique hegemonic and Eurocentric history. Thus, this research work analyzed the books Yaka (1984), from the Angola author Pepetela and Viva o povo brasileiro (1984) from the Brazilian author João Ubaldo Ribeiro, who are concerned about a dialogue between the fictionalization and the historical facts to "build" Angolan and Brazilian national identities based on the multiplicity of voices. The books focus primarily on the period of time known as the time of "Portuguese colonization," but consider the national bases of Brazil and Angola, before the arrival of the Portuguese in these territories. This thesis is concerned, above all in “baring” these works, taking advantage of all support provided by diverse areas of knowledge that generate contributions to the understanding of the construction of national identity glimpsed from marginalized voices by European ethnocentrism in the occupied territories.

Pigeon, Martine 10 February 2024 (has links)

Fortin, Karine 13 April 2018 (has links)
The characteristic features of Les enfantômes and Gros mots by Réjean Ducharme are the refusal of their respective first person narrators to integrate into society and to conform to prevailing norms and customs. The propensity of Ducharme’s protagonists to swim against the current of public opinion, to position themselves at the outer limits of institutions, systems and schools of thought, to erase everything around them, with the exception of love, contributes to the construction of an identity characterized by emptiness, inadequacy and inconsistency. In order to define this “lack of being” of the first person narrators, we analyzed the way in which they express themselves, their enunciation which, as we discovered, discloses their inability both to assert themselves as subject and to be part of language and the world. The use of the personal pronoun “one” and the representation of textual values represent locii of “desubjectivization” with which the present thesis is concerned. The first chapter presents a contextualized study of the pronoun “one” and its various values (exclusive, conjunctive, generic, trans-subjective and displaced). The theoretical tools proposed by Émile Benveniste, Catherine Kerbrat Orecchioni and Dominique Maingueneau were duly utilized to achieve our object. The second chapter examines the world vision of the first person narrators and the way in which this vision is articulated or manifested at the discursive level. Our study of the value system is based on specific elements of the procedure outlined by Vincent Jouve in his work La poétique des valeurs. The hypothesis that the ideological and existential positions of Ducharme’s protagonists are usually communicated through discourse with polemical tendencies is confirmed by a study of four representative extracts. Moreover, it emerges that, over and above the devastation, destruction and nothingness inherent in the works analyzed, connections based on tenderness and love give meaning to the characters’ lives.

Godoy Arenas, Claudio January 2011 (has links)

Henry Corot (1864-1941) et ses correspondants, les acteurs de l'archéologie préhistorique sous la IIIe République / Henry Corot (1864-1941) and his correspondents, the players of the protohistoric archaeology in the Third Republic

Joly, Rachel 27 September 2014 (has links)
The general introduction sets up a state of research on three themes : history and epistemology of archaeology, biographical genre, archives and scientists correspondences. Next, there is a presentation of thesis subject and its problematic. The first part is about Henry Corot’s biography (1864-1941). He was an emblematic figure in prehistoric and protohistoric archeology in Bourgogne area. His life and his work are apprehended thanks to the study of his archives containing hundreds of working folders and a correspondence of 2500 letters. The second part focus on H. Corot’s correspondents. A biographic directory includes biographical information and all publications of 490 French and foreign archaeologists. To follow, this thesis centers on: the geographical and sociological recruitment of these archaeologists, the topic of sociability at the time of H. Corot through the analysis of his correspondence, and the examination of the publications of these archaeologists (corpus of 1300 references). To conclude, this thesis allows, through the H. Corot’s singular biography, to consider a broader view, the collective biographies, which in turn make it possible the enlargement at history and epistemology of research in prehistory from the Third Republic and fill an important gap in the academic production about archaeology history.

Almeida, Bruno Henrique Prates de 27 April 2012 (has links)
This research examines the development of the notion of armor in the first fifteen years of Wilhelm Reich´s work, from 1920 until 1935. As the main goal, we aimed to answer the question: What is (are) the meaning(s) of the term armor in Wilhelm Reich´s thought? We had in view, above all, contribute to clear up and discuss this important notion in Reichian thought. In terms of method, in order to keep track of the author´s thinking route, we followed the chronological sequence of his publications. Based on this historical orientation, we focused and detailed the texts that, in our view, supplies subsidies for the comprehension about the notion of armor. Moreover, we drew our attention to the probable synonyms and meanings, even if the term was not cited. To begin, we researched the etymology of the term. Then, we listed two authors the French philosopher Henri Bergson and the founder of psychoanalysis Sigmund Freud investigated because of their importance on the construction of early Reich´s thought and, possibly, concerning the notion of armor. In terms of results, the analyzed Reich´s texts indicated that the significances of defense, protection and resistance are always present. Among the accessed articles, we localized the very first appearance of the word in 1922, as narcissistic armor. We verified that, to Reich, the armor keeps in contact with the inner e outer realities, articulates the notions of drive economy, ego and character, and has relations with the repression operation. In the beginning, it is conceived in the psychological sphere, but, gradually, it is considered in a somatic scope as well, especially as a chronic muscular hypertony. Yet, we wove some relations with Bergson´s view about the theme and with the freudians conception concerning the protective shield. Finally, under the health-disease angle, we pointed out some aspects and relations between the notion of armor and the human development process
