The aim of the thesis is to analyse and understand resolution, repeatability and reproducibility of the measurement system for package distance. The measurement system for package distance is already in use, no Gage R&R has been performed on the system and before spreading use of the system the quality of the system has to be understood and approved / Detta examensarbete utfördes våren och sommaren 2013 på Tetra Pak PackagingSolutions AB, Carton Economy. Huvudsakligt syfte var att analysera repeterbarhet ochreproducerbarhet samt sätta upp godkännande kriterium för mätsystemets upplösningvid mätning av förpackningsavstånd när förpackningarna transporteras påtransportbanor banor. Analys utfördes genom Gage R&R studie på mätsystemet.Förpackningsavståndet definieras som ett krav i definierade interface mellan ingåendedelsystem i ett förpackningssystem vid vidareutveckling och nyutveckling av nyadelsystem. De förpackningstyper som ingick i Gage R&R var Tetra Fino Aseptic (TFA),Tetra Wedge Aseptic (TWA) och Tetra Classic Aseptic (TCA).Efter att godkännande kriterium satts upp och Gage R&R studien genomförts drogsslutsatsen att mätsystemet lever upp till och kan anses godkänd för mätning av TFAoch TWA förpackningar. TCA förpackningar ingår ej i detta examensarbete.

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením způsobilosti pracovního zařízení. V teoretické části jsou popsány metody hodnocení procesů/výrobních zařízení, metoda DOE a hodnocení způsobilosti měřících systémů. V teoretické části je popsána vlastní analýza - aplikace v praxi.

Sedan Floréns studie om talangscouter 2010 har musikbranschen utvecklats enormt. Då det blivit enklare för oetablerade artister att bedriva sitt artisteri själva över internet utan hjälp av skivbolag har olika medieplattformar upplevt en övermättnad av ’talanger’ inom musik. Denna uppsats visar på i jämförelse med Floréns avhandling hur talangscouternas arbetsroller, eller A&R:s som de kallas inom musikbranschen, ser ut idag och har utvecklats under åren med fokus på fyra kärnaktiviteter hos skivbolagen: Identifiering av talang, inspelning av musik, marknadsföring av musik och artister samt distribution av de fonografiska verken. Med djupintervjuer som metod syftar studien att undersöka talangscouternas personliga medverkan inom dessa aktiviteter och dessutom peka på skillnader i tillvägagångssätt. Även om studien har visat på många likheter har utvecklingen av medieplattformar inte bara har gett dem många nya sätt att upptäcka talang på utan även möjligheten att själva ta större del inom flera av kärnaktiviteterna. Många A&R:s ansvarar även för marknadsföringen av artister själva och distribution av musik är ingenting som man måste förlita sig på de stora skivbolagen för längre.

This essay details the profound economic and social impact of the Vietnam War on Hong Kong. The British colony provided essential strategic facilities to the U.S. war effort and ranked among the largest destinations for American servicemen on R&R. Between 1965 and 1970, Hong Kong annually hosted about 200,000 U.S. ground and naval personnel on holiday. This influx annually earned Hong Kong about US$300-400 million (in 2009 dollars) and employed thousands of residents working in the colony’s service and entertainment industries. In addition, American servicemen and the local businesses catering to them became a contentious issue in local society. Servicemen excited widespread interest, but their misdeeds and their bar and brothel stomping grounds provoked intense anxiety. Hong Kong residents’ ensuing debates exercised the available civil channels and stimulated the colony’s emerging public sphere, from English- and Chinese-language newspaper battles to outspoken unions and neighborhood associations. In tandem with famed events such as the Star Ferry Riots of 1966 and the communist agitations of 1967, American R&R was an essential ingredient to the emergence of a distinctive Hong Kong identity and citizenry during this period. While residents’ objections failed to curb the GIs’ holidays, Vietnam tourism and its reverberating effects pressed new sectors of Hong Kong residents to grasp and articulate their investment as citizens in the city’s future. Thus, the Vietnam War and its U.S. presence in Hong Kong were major factors in developing Hong Kong’s modern economy, civil society, and contemporary self-conception as a political, legal, and cultural ‘haven.’ / text

Master’s thesis deals with the process of an insertion and movement of different workpieces and profiles. In the first, theoretical, part, the definition of types of robots and description of their kinematics are presented. The second part deals with the analysis and research of the possibilities of communication between the B&R control unit and the ABB robot, including a description of the equipment in the workplace. In addition, the concept of the robot control program and mainly the management of communication between units are presented. At the end of the work is the description of testing and verification of the concept.

This master dissertation is an attempt to find the best way for a young and aspiring music producer or songwriter to start a career within the pop music industry. The aim of the project is to gain knowledge from the process of pitching music to publishers, record labels and artists and to improve that process with the knowledge gained. As an additional method I also invited professionals from the music industry (A&R, artist and producers/writers) to share their views on the topic. The work resulted in several songs and song sketches, but it is important to point out that the audio is not part of the analysis and rather a biproduct of the project. The focus of this dissertation lies on the process of pitching music, building a network and the learning effect only. / I detta arbete ska jag försöka hitta ett bra sätt för en blivande musikproducent eller låtskrivare att starta en karriär inom popmusikindustrin. Syftet med projektet är att utveckla kunskap om hur man pitchar musik till förlag, skivbolag och artister och genom den processen ständigt förbättra arbetsmetoden. Som ytterligare en metod förde jag också samtal med yrkesverksamma från musikbranschen (A&R, artist och producenter/låtskrivare) för att på så sätt få ta del av andra åsikter om ämnet. Arbetet resulterade i flera låtar och sångskisser men det är viktigt att förtydliga att musiken inte är en del av analysen utan snarare en biprodukt av projektet. Uppsatsen fokuserar endast på arbetsprocessen och den kunskap som är kopplad till den.

The diploma thesis deals with the usage of integrated machine vision by B&R, Smart Sensor, for metal rectangular-shaped workpiece recognition and position determinition. The description of the usage of machine vision in the industry is made, the solution concept is created and the program and the user visualisation implemented. The main outcome of this work is the VITemplate library which can be used in combination with the model-based Blob analysis implemented in Smart Sensor to control the robotic arm to successfully grab all the workpieces on the belt.

The master's thesis deals with a robotic palletizing controlled by PLC. The first part provides examples of palletizing machines. The second part shows how ABB robot is controlled by B&R Automation PLC. The third part introduces selected approaches for automated pallet pattern generation. The fourth part designs library that allows pallet patterns to be generated using B&R Automation PLC. Fifth part covers creation of virtual palleziting cell, which is used to test library for automated pallet pattern generation.

The master thesis expresses the opinion on application of the Free Flight concept in European Airspace. In the beginning, the reason and the circumstances for concept application are characterized from both theoretical and practical approach. Afterwards, the key technology elements are defined as well as the ideal approach for developing them. Especially system ASAS was a subject of the deep investigation. Then the system ADS-B is introduced with all related issue from a performance point of view. Finally, the main factors affecting the capacity of the ASAS system in specific area of Airspace are investigated.

"This Master’s capstone was conducted in conjunction with Draper Laboratory, a non-profit research and development organization in Cambridge, Massachusetts. During a three month period, the author worked for the Microfabrication Department, assisting with projects related to statistics and quality control. The author gained real-world experience in data collection and analysis, and learned a new statistical software. Statistical methods covered in this report include regression analysis, control charts and capability, Gage R & R studies, and basic exploratory data analysis."
