[en] LOCATION BASED ROUTING IN AD-HOC NETWORKS / [pt] ROTEAMENTO BASEADO EM LOCALIZAÇÃO EM REDES AD HOCJOSE ANTONIO CASEMIRO NETO 26 March 2008 (has links)
As
principais questões técnicas a serem resolvidas no
contexto
projeto Terminodes, desenvolvido pelo Instituto Federal
de
Tecnologia da Suíça, desenvolveu um protocolo de
roteamento
Portanto,
a
servir
como canal de retorno de TV digital. / [en] An important advance generated by the technology of digital
TV is the possibility of interactivity with the users, what
is done by means of the return channel. The mobile ad hoc
networks have a great potential to provide this type of
service, because it can ideally be used in diverse
geographic areas and independent of any infrastructure.
This minimizes the costs and the time needed to implement
the network for this canal. One of the main questions
techniques in the context of the mobile ad hoc networks is
the necessity of efficient routing algorithms. The
Terminodes project, developed by the Federal Institute of
Technology of Switzerland, developed a routing protocol
that is based in location information. This routing method
frequently is a way to provide scalability in
large ad hoc networks. The routing based on location is
difficult when it has areas of exclusion in the topology of
the network and the nodes are mobile or they are
frequently disconnected to save battery. Therefore, assess
the robustness of the protocol for these cases is basic to
evaluate its use in networks for the digital TV return
channel.

When a major disaster occurs, such as an earthquake or fire, the efficiency of the rescue workers depends of the coordination between the different emergency teams. This coordination needs reliable communication equipments. In such a situation, however, the infrastructure for wireless communication is generally destroyed or unusable. It is therefore necessary to find adapted communication tools for the rescue workers known as opportunistic networks. These networks pose new challenging problems such as, for instance, resource allocation which is particularly important for the QoS satisfaction. In the first part of our thesis, we addressed the problem of resource allocation in ad hoc networks using the TDMA access mechanism. Our solutions aim to perform a fair distribution of channels and take into account an interference area twice as large as the transmission range. Evaluation of new policies for opportunistic networks deployed in disaster areas requires new mobility models. We developed a novel mobility model dedicated to the movement of rescue workers. Our model includes the group mobility and some characteristics of human mobility. It also incorporates a mechanism to circumvent obstacles presents in the simulation area.

With the success of wireless communications, it becomes possible to access the network anywhere at any time without the need for physically connect communicating devices in an infrastructure. The nodes (laptops, smartphones, etc.) can analyze different radio channels to be able to associate with an available wireless network (base station, access point, etc.). An undeniable advantage of wireless technologies is the ability to be mobile while staying connected. However, mobility is difficult to manage because it must be addressed at different layers to be transparent to users. In MANET (Mobile Ad hoc Network) routing protocols use metrics to select the best routes. The metric can reflect the quality of the wireless link and help manage mobility. But a significant delay between the estimate metrics and their inclusion in the routing process makes this approach ineffective. The work of this thesis are interested in proposing new methods for calculating routing metrics to manage the problem of mobility in ad hoc networks. The new metrics should reflect the quality of the link and be sensitive to the mobility simultaneously. We consider the classical metrics, particularly ETX (Expected Transmission Count) and ETT (Expected Transmission Time). We introduce new methods to predict the values of these metrics using prediction algorithms. We use a cross layer approach, which allows the joint use of information from layers 1, 2 and 3. The validation of new methods for calculating routing metrics requires evaluation through a real bench test. So we also implemented new routing metrics in a testbed to assess and compare their performance with classical metrics.

This work, which has its institutional origins on the work and observations I developed at the Psychosocial Attention Center Alcohol and Drugs (CAPS AD) clinic and aims at supporting clinical work, reflects on the aspects of the psychic functioning of the drug addict, hypotheses on the development of a child drug addict and ways the psychic aspects observed repeat in the transference-countertransference relationship. Addiction is the object of psychoanalytic investigation since the early theoretical work of Freud, although Freud himself has not conducted specific studies regarding this form of psychological distress. Olievenstein, French reference in the treatment of chemical addictions, found that drug addict subjects do not present one similar type of childhood development, but do have in common one type of trauma: the Broken Mirror Stag a development from the Lacanian Mirror Stage. This hypothesis - the presence of a common trauma - is fundamental for this study since it elucidates the first identificatory moments of an addict. From the experience with CAPS - AD patients and through the the therapeutic relationship, I could learn aspects of the manifestations referred as the broken mirror stage. Through the countertransference and understanding the affection that might originate from this phenomenon, the analyst can give a new shape and support for the manifestation of transference, enabling support for repairing experiences that have not found healing through previous symbolizations. It is precisely the deciphering of these processes that legitimizes and specifies the place of psychoanalysis in institutions like the CAPS -AD

Mobile ad-hoc networks (MANET) is a set of nodes, communicating meaning wireless channel without any centralized control. The main characteristic of MANET is the frequent mobility of its nodes leading to some dynamic changes of topology. Nodes mobility in such networks introduces possible disconnections between adjacent nodes, and more generally quality of service (QoS) degradation issues that do not fit well with QoS requirements of QoS sensitive applications. Publish/subscribe communicating system has been proposed at the middleware layer in order to communicate mobile entities in MANET. Such system is a decoupled interaction between publishers (or producers) and receivers (or consumers). Our goal in this thesis is to provide a QoS management for publish/subscribe systems when deployed on MANET while assuming a best effort flux at the routing layer. This thesis proposes an analytical model for latency aware publish/subscribe systems on mobile ad-hoc networks. The proposed approach combines both proactive and reactive statistical analysis. On the one hand, the reactive analysis, suitable for multimedia applications, detects failures by approximating latency series with Gumbel distribution. On the other hand, the proactive analysis, suitable for crisis management applications, forecasts failures occurrence relying on Auto Regression or Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Average Formulas. Finally, a hybrid analysis was proposed by dynamically switching from reactive to predictive forms of analysis whenever quality of service violations are noticed. In order to extract failure cause, we refer to the correlation method once failure was detected or predicted. Simulations done, using Jist/Swans simulator, under different scenariosproved the efficiency and accuracy of the proposed scheme.

O tratamento jurídico da venda de imóvel com divergência de área na evolução do direito brasileiro: venda ad corpus e ad mensuram / Land selling with measure defect in Brazilian legal history: ad corpus and ad mensuram selling.Lago, Ivan Jacopetti do 05 June 2014 (has links)
The territorial evolution of Brazil is regarded by two important characteristics: the great extension of the land properties, and the unclear definition of its limits. At first, the acquisition of land occurred by concession of the Portuguese monarchy or simply by the territorial occupation. Later on, there would be a land trade between commoners. By the end of the nineteenth century, the characteristics of the land occupation bring about an unavoidable question to the legal thinkers and court decisions: who should be responsible in case of divergence between the contracted dimensions and the found dimensions ? The first problem regards the applicable law. Portuguese \"Ordenações do Reino\" or the \"Direito Subsidiário\"? And, on the latter case, what would be the solution? The Brazilian civil codes of 1916 and 2002 brought within articles regarding the question. Nevertheless, there is still uncertainty, especially concerning the nature of the legal protection given to the parts - the key of the whole system. The aim of the present work is to demonstrate that, based on the historical facts, the solution traditionally adopted - the division of the purchasing agreements, between ad corpus and ad mensuram selling - is inappropriate. In addition, the work proposes a distinctive way of understanding the topic, based on the past.

Ytterligare forskning på konsekutiva fallserier behövs för att fastställa testets diagnostiska diskriminationsförmåga i klinisk praxis.</p> / <p><em>A Quick Test </em>(AQT)<em> Color-Form </em>is a test that uses rapid automatized naming in order to identify cognitive impairment. It is divided into three parts, each of which consists of 40 stimuli that are to be named as quickly as possible. Previous studies have indicated that AQT separates patients with Alzheimer’s disease from normal controls with higher accuracy than the commonly used <em>Mini-Mental State Examination </em>(MMSE). The purpose of this study was to investigate, for the first time, whether AQT results collected from a consecutive series of patients at a Memory Clinic would be able to predict the diagnosis. Another aim was to study the possible relation between AQT results and Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases. 492 forms from <em>AQT Color-Form</em> tests were analyzed and diagnostic prediction and correlation with level of CSF biomarkers were determined for the first 374 patients. The results imply that <em>AQT Color-Form</em> may be sensitive to some symptoms of benign memory impairment that is found in patients admitted to a Memory Clinic, but that it is not always sensitive to mild degrees of dementia. Further research consecutive series of patients is needed in order to determine the diagnostic abilities of discrimination in clinical practice.</p>

Mobile learning by using ad hoc messaging networkStieglitz, Stefan, Fuchß, Christoph, Lattemann, Christoph January 2007 (has links)
The requirements of modern e-learning techniques change. Aspects such as community interaction, flexibility, pervasive learning and increasing mobility in communication habits become more important. To meet thesechallenges e-learning platforms must provide support on mobile learning. Most approaches try to adopt centralized and static elearning mechanisms to mobile devices. However, often technically it is not possible for all kinds of devices to be connected to a central server. Therefore we introduce an application of a mobile e-learning network which operates totally decentralized with the help of an underlying ad hoc network architecture. Furthermore the concept of ad hoc messaging network (AMNET) is used as basis system architecture for our approach to implement a platform for pervasive mobile elearning.
