A presente pesquisa visa investigar o comportamento térmico e os efeitos dos parâmetros geométricos e operacionais no desempenho de um armazenador de calor latente de geometria cilíndrica anular de aletas alternadas. O modelo matemático é baseado na formulação bidimensional do problema de condução com mudança de fase onde as temperaturas de entrada dos dois fluidos interno e externo são mantidas constantes. A solução numérica é obtida usando o método de volume de controle finito e o esquema ADI. O acoplamento deste problema com os fluidos de trabalho interno e externo é obtido pelo balanço de energia nos respectivos elementos e elementos de mudança de fase, obtendo assim as temperaturas de mistura em função do tempo e da posição. A tração de massa solidificada/fundida,a efetividade e o NTU são analisados em função das variações da geometria e do número de aletas, o espaçamento anular, número de Biot e Stefan, as temperaturas dos fluidos de trabalho e os respectivos números de Reynolds dos fluidos de trabalho / Abstract: Research activities in thermal energy storage in the form of latent heat in storage systems with and without fins are well advanced and intense. The present research project aims to investigate the thermal behavior and the effects of the geometrical and operational parameters on the performance of the latent heat storage units of cylindrical annular model is based upon a two-dimensional formulation of the heat conduction with phase change where the inlet temperatures of the two working fluids are maintained constants. The numerical solution is realized using the finite volume control method and the ADI scheme. The coupling of the above problem with the two working fluids, is obtained by energy balance on the respective fluid elements and the phase change elements, and consequently the fluid bulk temperature is determined in terms of the time and space. The solidified/melt mass ftaction, the effectiveness and the NTU are analyzed in terms of the variation in the geometry number of fins, the annular spacing, the Biot and Stefan number, the temperature and the Reynolds numbers of the working fluids / Doutorado / Termica e Fluidos / Doutor em Engenharia Mecânica

Para tanto, exploram-se alguns dos topicos previstos pela analise do discurso - sujeito da enunciação, destinatário, interdiscurso e ethos discursivo - ao mesmo tempo em que são feitas reflexões a respeito destes tópicos. Verifica-se que o discurso da empresa é, por um lado, autoritário, pois procura abafar o dialogismo, principio constitutivo da discursividade. Além disso, o discurso apresenta as caracteristicas de uma doutrina (segundo denominação de Foucault, 1970), pois procura levar seus adeptos a adotarem um modelo de enunciação que autoriza certos enunciados e proibe outros, e que permite diferenciar o conjunto de seus adeptos como um grupo particular / Abstract: Using the principles of the French discourse analysis, this work analised the set of statements which compose the persuasive discourse of a net-system sales company which is operanting in Brazil during the late years. Some of the topics assumed by the theory were investigated - like the enunciation subject, the addressee, the interdiscourse and the discoursive ethos - while some reflexions were made about these topics. It was noticed that the discourse of the company is authoritarian and tries to silence the dialogue, which is the constitutive principle of the discoursivity. Besides, the discourse of the company shows the characteristics of a doctrine (in the meaning stated by Foucault, 1970) as it tries to lead its adepts to adopt an enunciation pattern which allows some statements and forbids others and which differentiates the whole of its participants as a specific grou / Mestrado / Mestre em Linguística

A análise principal recai sobre um corpus específico: as redações que optaram pelo tema "A violência deve ser combatida com violência?, por encontrar nelas número significativo do objeto de estudo: clichês em redações do vestibular. O uso dos clichês é abordado tendo como referência a corrente francesa da Análise do Discurso, através do estudo das Condições de Produção e do jogo de imagens de Pêcheux (1969) e da teoria da heterogeneidade que institui a existência da polifonia como marca característica dos discursos a partir de Faucault, Bakhtin e Lacan. O objetivo maior da pesquisa é encontrar causas que expliquem a opção feita pelo vestibulando e justificar o uso do 'já dito' como estratégia discursiva. Apoiada nos conceitos de Bakhtin (1929) sobre as categorias da ideologia do cotidiano, nos estudos de Maingueneau (1987) sobre a heterogeneidade mostrada, nos trabalhos de Jolles (1930), Reboul (1975) e Schneider (1990) sobre as formas simples e o uso dos lugares comuns, foi possível concluir que o uso de clichês deve-se a estratégias utilizadas pelo vestibulando de acordo com as imagens (veiculadas pela escola) que ele faz de seu interlocutor e do texto em si enquanto instrumento discursivo numa instância específica. Ao se apropriar do discurso do Outro, como instrumento de argumentação, o sujeito não deixa de garantir sua individualidade. O fato de recorrer a um discurso de autoridade, além de tomar seu próprio discurso irrefutável, demonstra sua não passividade. As contribuições deste estudo visam sobretudo a sugestões de alteração no ensino de primeiro e segundo graus, especialmente aos professores de Língua Portuguesa e às propostas de temas para o Vestibular, explicitando critérios que façam do vestibulando um sujeito ativo e estimule a produção de textos polifônicos / Abstract: This work has as a corpus the compositions from the University Entrance Exam / 92, from the University of Rondonia - UNIR. The main analysis is about a great number of clichés found in the theme chosen for the University Entrance Exam compositions, "Violence should be combatted with violence". The use of clichés is covered, having as reference the French School of Speech Analysis; through the study of production conditions and the images game of Pêcheux (1969) and the theory of heterogeneity that establishes the existence of polyfony as a main feature for the speeches since Faucault, Bakhtin and Lacan. The main objective of this research is to find the causes that explain the choice made by students and justify the use of clichés as a strategy of discourse. Based on Bakhtin ideas (1929) about the categories of common ideology, in Maingueneau studies (1987) about the heterogeneity showed, on Jolles works (1930), Reboul (1975) and Schneider (1990) about simple ways and the use of simple places, it was possible to conclude that the use of clichés is due to the strategies used by students coming from the images (acquired at school) that he has of his audience and the text itself as an instrument of discourse in a specific circumstance. On acquiring the discourse of others as an instrument for arguement, one does not guarantee one's own individuality. The fact of relying on one's own discourse with authority, besides making one's own discourse irrefutable, demonstrates that one is not passive. The contributions of this study are above all suggestions of alteration of primary and secondary school education, especially to the Portuguese Languages teachers and the proposed themes for the University Entrance Exam, in order to stimulate the production of poliphonic texts / Mestrado / Mestre em Linguística

Nas falas do réu percebemos que narrar é diferente de depor e que o ritual jurídico que envolve um depoimento é sua principal característica, e que essas enunciações - para se tornarem parte do processo judicial percorrem um longo e tortuoso caminho, podendo sofrer alterações de diversas naturezas. Estaremos realizando a reflexão e a problematização do sentido metafórico em três momentos específicos: num primeiro momento, faremos uma incursão pela retórica clássica e outras teorias mais recentes, para verificar de que forma se circunscreve a definição de metáfora. Em seguida, no capítulo II, faremos uma discussão sobre algumas relações de significação para deslocar o lugar em que se pensa a metáfora, isto é, estaremos propondo uma forma de conceber o fenômeno metafórico dentro de uma perspectiva discursiva e enunciativa. No capítulo III estaremos finalmente esboçando um quadro de análise, no qual refletiremos sobre a condição da metáfora enquanto processo de construção de sentido / Abstract: The objective of this study is to present a reflection about the metaphor as a process of sense construction transferring its definition from the limits of the relationships that occur in the inner sentence by understanding the metaphor from a perspective that takes into account the relationshíp among metaphor, discourse and enunciation. A metaphorical sense reflection will be carried out in three specific moments in this study. In chapter I an incursion through classical rhetoric and mor recent theories will be made aiming at verifyng how metaphor definition is understood in these theories. In chapter II a discussion about some meaning relationships will be presented in order to displace the way the metaphor is normally conceived, that is, a way of discussing the metaphorical phenomenon in a discoursive and enunciative view will be proposed. As análises inserem-se no âmbito da relação polêmica e indicam a atuação de duas formações discursivas antagônicas, às quais denomino de FD 1 e FD2, que correspondem, respectivamente a: "O Sul explora o Nordeste" e "O Nordeste explora o Sul". O trabalho divide-se em três partes: na primeira delineia-se o quadro geral da enunciação, na segunda privilegia-se o estudo das relações enunciativo-discursivas desses discursos a partir, principalmente, das concepções teóricas formuladas pelo semanticista Oswald Ducrot nos textos Esboço para uma teoria polifônica da enunciação e Argumentação e topoi argumentativos e na última discute-se o fato de os discursos separatistas em questão sofrerem a mediação da Imprensa / Abstract: The information analised in this dissertation was collected in the printing press and concerns to two Brazilian separatist movements, during the 1988-1993 interval, the first aimed the independency of Northeastem Brazil and the second aimed the República Federativa do Pampa creation. The analysis are inserting in the ambit of polemic relantioship and indicate the actuation of two antagonist discourses formations, denominated DF 1 and DF2, corresponding, respectively: "The South explore the Northeastern" and "The Northeastern explore the South". Trata-se de lasers com substrato de GaAs, poço quântico de InGaAs ( pico de emissão em 980 nm ), camadas confinantes de GaAlAs e GaInP. A estrutura fisica é do tipo "ridge". Os lasers foram tratados com camada anti-refletora ( AR ) na face frontal e reflexão máxima ( Rmax ) na face traseira, montados com lado p para cima ou para baixo ( substrato ). A distribuição de temperatura na face dos lasers, e sobre o seu contato elétrico ( sobre o "ridge" ) no caso de serem montados com o lado p para cima, foi detenninada. No último caso, as medidas foram feitas nas proximidades do espelho e no meio da cavidade. Os resultados experimentais evidenciam o maior aquecimento do espelho. A partir destes resultados e do cálculo da temperatura para a geometria do problema, foi estabelecida a relação entre as perdas no volume e as de superfície para estes lasers. A partir dos cálculos também foi possível concluir que a camada de alumina ( AR na face de saída ) não influencia significativamente a distribuição de temperatura. Por outro lado, os resultados experimentais obtidos na face do laser mostram a importância das camadas de confinamento de luz no aquecimento da região ativa. Medidas feitas sob as mesmas condições de corrente injetada, mas sob diferentes níveis de potência de saída mostram nitidamente a influência da luz no processo de aquecimento. A absorbância da superficie do dispositivo foi determinada, mostrando-se muito superior àquela da camada de alumina, indicando que se trata de aquecimento por absorção de luz na superficie do cristal / Abstract: In this work the Photothermal Reflectance Microscopy was used to investigate telecommunication laser-diodes produced by CPqD-Telebrás. These lasers are InGaAs SQW lasers operating at 980 nm, with GaAlAs or GaInP cladding layers, based on GaAs substrate, and using a ridge waveguiding structure. The laser facets were coated with l/4 Al2O3 and l/4 Al2O3/Si layers to provide anti-reflection and maximum reflection mirrors ( front and rear facet, respectively ). The devices were soldered junction-side up or junction-side down on the heat sink. The temperature distribution was determined on the laser facet, as well as on the electric contact ( on the ridge ) in the case of junction-side up soldered devices. In the last case, measurements were made both near the facet and in the middle of the cavity .Experimental results show a higher temperature distribution near the facet. Comparing these results with the calculated temperature for the specific geometry allows to establish the relationship between the bulk and surface losses. From the calculated temperature we conclude also that the Al2O3 layer does not play a significant role in the temperature distribution. On the other hand, experimental results obtained on the facet show the important role of the cladding layers on the laser temperature. Measurements performed under the same injection current level, but under different output power levels, show clearly the influence of the laser light in the heating process of the device. The surface absorbency was found to be much higher than that of Al2O3, indicating that the main heating mechanism is the surface crystal absorption of the emitted laser light / Mestrado / Física / Mestre em Física

Interessava nos compreender os efeitos de sentido produzidos por um discurso sobre a "transferência de poder" na constituição de formas de representação do eu (colonizador, governante), do outro (colonizado, governado) e da relação entre eles no interior de uma relação colonial, mas em um discurso que podemos denominar de "transição" pelo fato de antecipar uma nova configuração política que, supomos, desloca sentidos estabilizados em uma relação de colonização. O quadro teórico-metodológico no qual esta pesquisa está situada é a área de análise do discurso que postula que a linguagem é constituída sócio historicamente e estruturada por formações ideológicas e que os sentidos de u.m discurso se constituem no seu exterior, em outros discursos. A análise que empreendemos, do tipo semântico-enunciativa, toma o acontecimento enunciativo como lugar de observação dos sentidos de um discurso para nele compreender o funcionamento da língua na sua historicidade. Sob essa perspectiva, procura-se apreender as relações de um discurso com seu exterior constitutivo no sentido de que esse exterior tem modos diversos de se fazer presente e significar em um discurso determinado. Concluímos, em nossa análise, que a configuração discursiva que rege o discurso político britânico sobre a transferência de poder na índia caracteriza-se por fazer coexistirem sentidos contraditórios vindos de diferentes regiões do interdiscurso em um jogo entre dois opostos: aparentemente rompem-se os sentidos de um discurso colonialista por meio de "novas" formas de representação do eu e do outro (por exemplo, através de construções lingüísticas que remetem à igualdade, amizade e cooperação na relação entre britânicos e indianos), as quais são, no entanto, atravessadas por sentidos que invocam a memória da colonização e que são formuláveis somente no discurso colonialista. Nesse discurso, a configuração discursiva organiza as posições do sujeito enunciador e os funcionamentos discursivos de maneira a fazê-Ios significar de dois lugares políticos irredutivelmente contrários: o lugar do império e o lugar que reconhece o espaço da representação política / Abstract: The object of study of this dissertation is the British political discourse about India at the moment in which the preparations for handing over independence to India were being carried out. Our main interest was to understand the meaning effects produced by a discourse about the "transfer of power" as it constitutes forms of representing the self (colonizer, governar), the other (colonized, governed) and the relationship between them within a colonial frame. But this colonial frame is, nevertheless, signified by a discourse that could be termed a "transition" discourse because it anticipates a new political setting which should be able to dislocate stabilized meanings in a relationship of colonization. Our theoretical and methodological framework is a perspective of discourse analysis which postulates that language is socio-historically Constituted and structured by ideological formations and that the meanings of a discourse are constituted in other discourses, that is, in its interdiscourse. The specificity of our analysis, an analysis which is both semantic and enunciative, lies in that the enunciative event is taken as the place of observation of the meanings of the discourse with a view to understanding how language functions from a historical perspective. Thus, the analyst seeks to aprehend the relationships between this discourse and its constitutive alterity in the sense that this alterity has various ways of signifying in a given discourse. Through our analysis we concluded that the discursive configuration which governs the British political discourse about the transfer of power in India is characterized by the fact that it puts together contradictory meanings which come from different regions of the interdiscourse in the shape of a game of oppositions: apparently there is a rupture with meanings which come from a colonialist discourse through "new" forms of representation of the self and the other (for example, by means of linguistic constructions which speak of equality, friendship and cooperation in the relationship between British and Indians). However, these constructions are crossed by meanings which invoke the memory of colonization and which can only be formulated in a colonialist discourse. In the discourse we analysed, the discursive configuration organises the subject positions and the way of functioning of this discourse so as to make them signify from two opposing positions: the discursive "place" of the empire and the "place" which recognises the sphere of political representation / Doutorado / Doutor em Linguística
