Identificación de especies vegetales utilizando dispositivos móvilesValenzuela Pérez, Sebastián Ulises January 2013 (has links)

Na programação do aplicativo foi considerado e implementado um controle para impedir o tranco no início da movimentação, objetivando o fator ergonômico do usuário / Abstract: The work developed a set of simple tools (graphical user interface and remote communication) that allowed the control and monitoring of different sensors and actuators embedded in a electric wheelchair. Development of a Multi Sensor Android ApplicationMaddala, Sasanka, Velugubantla, Veerababu January 2020 (has links)
There has been an enormous growth in the usage of smartphones in recent times. Smartphones are not limited to communication purposes. It has various applications designed as per the daily requirements of humans such as web-searching, online shopping, bank transactions, games, etc. With the increase in the usage of the smartphone, the more useful information is captured and stored by it, which raises the question of security. The goal of this research is to develop two android applications. One is a sensor detector application and the second is a screen lock application. The first application will help the user to identify all the hidden sensors and working sensors on the mobile phone. This application even describes the features and usage of every sensor in detail. Using a graphical description of each sensor which depicts the behaviour of each sensor as per environment/movement. The second application is designed using a combination of two sensors. Screen lock applications contain two main factors. One is to work properly in all cases and efficiently do the functions that are required to do. The second is to maintain a smooth inner system interaction because in addition to locking the screen this application should make sure to hide the display of all the other applications without closing the process of these applications. With the increase in the usage of the smartphone, it becomes difficult for older generations to memorize the security pattern techniques and use them. This thesis develops a simple technique in the mobile authentication android application. The thesis is developed on the Android studio platform. The background functionality of the app is coded in java using android SDK tool and frontend of the application is designed using XML files. The GENYMOTION emulator and a mobile phone are used to test the output.

Smartphone Based Indoor Positioning Using Wi-Fi Round Trip Time and IMU Sensors / Smartphone-baserad inomhuspositionering med Wi-Fi Round-Trip Time och IMU-sensorerAaro, Gustav January 2020 (has links)
While GPS long has been an industry standard for localization of an entity or person anywhere in the world, it loses much of its accuracy and value when used indoors. To enable services such as indoor navigation, other methods must be used. A new standard of the Wi-Fi protocol, IEEE 802.11mc (Wi-Fi RTT), enables distance estimation between the transmitter and the receiver based on the Round-Trip Time (RTT) delay of the signal. Using these distance estimations and the known locations of the transmitting Access Points (APs), an estimation of the receiver’s location can be determined. In this thesis, a smartphone Wi-Fi RTT based Indoor Positioning System (IPS) is presented using an Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF). The UKF using only RTT based distance estimations as input, is established as a baseline implementation. Two extensions are then presented to improve the positioning performance; 1) a dead reckoning algorithm using smartphone sensors part of the Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) as an additional input to the UKF, and 2) a method to detect and adjust distance measurements that have been made in Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) conditions. The implemented IPS is evaluated in an office environment in both favorable situations (plenty of Line-of-Sight conditions) and sub-optimal situations (dominant NLoS conditions). Using both extensions, meter level accuracy is achieved in both cases as well as a 90th percentile error of less than 2 meters.

Java and Kotlin, a performance comparisonGakis, Stylianos, Everlönn, Niclas January 2020 (has links)
When it comes to developing software, it is important to keep in mind a variety of factors. It is paramount that software is fast, responsive, optimized, and able to be stored and used by the end consumer. This is especially true within fields such as medical care or critical systems where the speed is critical to the end-user and where the memory and storage capacity may all be a limiting factor to the software. This paper evaluates the differences in performance between the Java programming language and the Kotlin programming language. This paper evaluates this by comparing performance by experiment, comparing metrics between the two and relevant literature review about the subject. The results show an overall better performance of Java in most occasions, with Kotlin managing to perform better in much fewer benchmarks. These differences are mostly not very significant, however there are exceptions where Kotlin is performing considerably worse. That happens particularly when a lot of the Kotlin idiomatic features are implemented, which add a big overhead and if performance is a big concern, they should be used sparingly.

Safe Second : En tryggare begagnathandel direkt från Android-enhetenChimklai, May January 2021 (has links)
The human climate impact in Sweden is claimed to be an average of eight tons per person annually, far from the Paris Agreement's goal, which means that the average global emissions should be a maximum of one ton per person. In 2017, the Swedes' climate impact from clothing purchases was estimated at 4,2 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalents in total during the garment's lifespan. By doubling this lifespan with the help of reuse, the climate impact could be reduced to almost half, where one way of reuse is to shop second-hand. Many, on the other hand, may experience great uncertainty in this as goods can be pirated. The purpose of this project is thus to contribute to safer second-hand trade that is both environmentally friendly and wallet-friendly and to reduce trade in piracy. The goal of the project is an application that will be able to identify the authenticity of branded goods with the help of QR codes and a database attached to it. The result of the work is an application, Safe Second, which can identify branded goods and eco-labeled goods. The application is available for Android devices, where Android Studio is the platform that has been used for the implementation of both frontend and backend. The backend includes the database where information is stored and retrieved; this is created with Firebase Realtime Database. In the application, a function for stock status has been implemented and updated in real-time to facilitate and increase interest in trading in physical second-hand stores, which is assumed to work based on 93,4% of test subjects in a survey.
