Apple’s iOS 14.5 update - How were B2C companies’ digital marketing affected? : A qualitative study about the effects of data regulations on digital marketing.

Naghibi, Babak, Rosenqvist, Malin January 2022 (has links)
Aim: The aim of the study is to investigate how data regulations affect B2C companies’ digital marketing, the consequences, and how this change was handled. Method: The study is based on a qualitative method. The gathering of empirical material was conducted with semi-structured interviews with the assistance of an interview guide based on the theoretical framework. With a thematic analysis we identified three different themes. Result and Conclusions: The study shows that B2C companies were initially negatively impacted with less profitability. The study also shows how companies managed to handle the changes by working with more social media platforms and adapt the marketing according to the platform’s conditions.  Contribution of the thesis: The study’s theoretical contributions are a result that can be transferred to B2C companies both in Sweden and abroad. The practical contribution is how companies can adapt their strategies. Suggestions for future research: Since this study focuses on B2C companies, we suggest more research on the effects for B2B companies to assimilate more knowledge

Optimering av budgivning i Google AdWords / Optimization of bidding in Google AdWords

Soto Trujillo, Fernando, Grehnik, Mattias January 2017 (has links)
Google allows companies to buy ad space on Googles search engine, which goes by the name AdWords. Docklin Digital creates ads and buys ad space for the company’s clients with the help of AdWords. Google AdWords lets companies input bids that will affect the ad space an ad will receive. Docklin Digital inputs these bids manually and is searching for a way to optimize the bidding process with the help of JavaScript. To solve this problem a pilot study was conducted into earlier works in the field, facts about Google AdWords and appropriate methods to test and analyse a procedure for automatic changing of bids. The pilot study resulted in two developed scripts. One of the scripts was developed by applying a theory from a thesis. The other script was based on the company’s manual way of configuring bids. In the analysis stage of this thesis, the script that was developed from the thesis was found to perform marginally better but to an increased cost of 36 %. In the end the script that was based on the company’s manual way of working was deemed to perform better, the reason being the lower total costs and performing in an almost similar way.

CONSTRUCTION OF HOLOGRAPHIC DUALS FOR QUANTUM FIELD THEORIES WITH GLOBAL SYMMETRIES FROM QUANTUM RENORMALIZATION GROUP

Bednik, Grigory January 2014 (has links)
We present a method of quantum renormalization group, which makes it possible to construct a bulk theory for a general conformal field theory in the context of anti-de Sitter/conformal field theory correspondence. We demonstrate that within this method it is possible to construct scalar field theory in anti-de Sitter space. We also demonstrate that from a conformal field theory possessing global symmetry, it is possible to construct non-abelian gauge theory in anti-de Sitter space. / Thesis / Master of Science (MSc)

A Computer Model to Estimate Benefits of Data Link Mandates and Reduced Separations across North Atlantic Organized Track System

Gunnam, Aswin Kumar 04 January 2013 (has links)
The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) proposed to introduce new operational strategies across the North Atlantic (NAT) airspace. This includes Minimum Navigation Performance Specifications (MNPS) airspace to increase the capacity and efficiency of the North Atlantic Organized Track System (NAT OTS). A numerical integration and simulation model called North Atlantic Simulation and Modeling (NATSAM) is developed to study the effects of these new strategies on NAT system performance. The model is capable of investigating the effects of implementing different operational policies and strategies proposed by ICAO such as Reduced Lateral Separation Minimum (RLatSM), NAT Region Data link mandate (DLM), Reduced Longitudinal Separation Minimum (RLongSM), cruise-climb profiles, variable Mach number profiles, step-climbs and other operational concepts to be studied by the ICAO. NATSAM models the individual flight performance using the Base of Aircraft Data (BADA) 3.9 model to calculate the flight profiles and fuel burn. The model employs simple heuristics to execute flight track assignment in the organized track system for each scenario. Detailed outputs and also aggregated outputs are provided by the model from which various key performance indicators (KPI) can be derived to assess the performance of the system. / Master of Science

”No, unfortunately that’s nothing people talk about”. : A qualitative study on children with NDS in association sports.

Lavesson, Patricia, Sandmark Martinovic, Sofia January 2024 (has links)
Physical activity is important for everybody, and especially for  people with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDs). NDs includes several diagnoses including, but not limited to, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and Tourette’s. NDs is something people are born with, and causes different difficulties during the different stages in life. NDs are often diagnosed in childhood, but can also be discovered later in life. This is more common in girls and women, likely because they are better at masking their difficulties to fit in. If NDs are diagnosed later in life, it's more common for comorbidity as depression, anxiety, and self-harm. Children with NDs are more likely to be sedentary and not participating in association sports. This can often lead to a limited social life and inferior health. Association sports are a way to promote a richer social life and better health. The aim of this study is to describe how association sports on an organizational level support children with NDs and what support the trainers are offered. The methods used are semi structured interviews and thematic data analysis. The results show that trainers in the associations have very limited knowledge about NDs and that the associations don’t have anything written in their governing documents about NDs. The associations were open for competence development but had limited resources to put into it. Surprisingly, most of the interview persons presented that the parents who had children in the associations were a big support for both trainers and children for effective training and matches.

Utilizing nonperturbative methods to study CFTs and the AdS/CFT correspondence

Cogburn, Cameron Valier 01 October 2024 (has links)
In this thesis we explore CFTs and related nonperturbative phenomena through several various techniques. First we construct a novel way to latticize AdS via the triangle group. We characterize aspects of this tessellation in 2d as well extend the construction to 3d, where we find a bulk critical point for scalar 𝜙⁴ theory. We then study 2d minimal model CFTs in a bulk AdS₂ through powerful boundary CFT and JT/Schwarzian techniques. Finally, we use an algebraic formulation of a conformal interface separating two minimal models -- a RG brane -- to compute correlators in the presence of the brane to better understand the relation between different minimal model CFT theories.
