Moraes, Marco Antonio Alves de 31 March 1997 (has links)
Orientador: Roberto Vilarta / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Faculdade de Educação Fisica / Made available in DSpace on 2018-07-22T06:15:45Z (GMT). This study has as its objective to discuss the control mechanisms of structural adaptations in the connective and muscular tissues under different functional conditions. It consists in the development of the interpretations about the plasticity of the tissues related to physical activities in order to improve the motor system's flexibility. Therefore, this bibliographic research, based on the identification, localization and compilation of the data seeks the utilization and ordenation of available knowledge pertinent to studying the object. It makes use of analysis and interpretative techniques and deduction to construct and develop the relationship between the observations and considerations of the authors. Connective tissues has a significant role in the process of stretching adaptation. The most important data is that the adaptation relative to increasing the functional activity increases collagen synthesis, stimulates the glycosaminoglycan production and increases the cross-seccional area, the number of fibroblast nucleuses, the diameter of collagen bundles and resistance toward tendon traction. This tissue reacts structurally to the privation movement that decreases the protein synthesis and the glycosaminoglycan production, which are associated with decreased water, increase the crystals in collagen bundles increasing the cross-link number. On the other hand, the decrease of elasticity occurs and the tendon's elastic stiffness increases and the tissue becomes subject to fragmentation. Muscular tissue presents great adaptive capacity, being the main place for morphological changeswith reflection on the flexibility capacity of the osteomyo-tendinous. The muscle is able to adapt itself functionally through passive tensions increasing the protein synthesis and consequently, the size of the fiber is increased by the addition of in-series sarcomeres at the extremity of the fiber increasing muscle size and the relaxation of "stress". In the absence or decrease of movement that induces hypokinety and hypodynamy, the decrease of protein synthesis occurs as a consequence of the reduction muscular tension, becouse there is no adequate position between actin filaments and myosin. In this condition, atrophy is observed, decrease of the length and diameter of fiber in consequence of the reduction of in-series sarcomeres. Adaptation results in the remodeling of the intramuscular connective tissue, reduction of maximum contractible strength and of the length/tension curve. This leads to minor extensibility and major tissue stiffness. Muscular stretching, considering. the plastic changes that induce permanent modifications, depending on its intensity, time and frequency, leads to an adaptive process of the tissues in function of a new demandoThis occurs as a consequence of the increaseof the number of in-series sarcomeres, decreasing the tension at the union of muscle-tendon. Consequently, the tissues acquire a new length, a greater relaxation capacity, reduction of stiffness and a consequent increase of flexibility. These data permit deducing that the motor system's flexibility is influenced by the levei of the exercised tension on the tissues, by disposition of the fibers in relation to the tendon, by the degree of extensibility of the collagen fibers of the tendon and skeletal muscular fibers and by articular capsule. Ali these represent the limiting factors of this property / Mestrado / Mestre em Educação Física

It was sought, also, to observe what interferences this activity (stretching) would have about the posture. The stretching activity was viewed under Le Boulch (1983) perspective, as an integrating part of a basic education through the movement, in order to form the central column of the personality, established by the Corporal Scheme. It deal with a bibliographic research which seeks for to make use and to dispose the available knowledge, related with the object under study, and analysis and interpretation techniques were used, taking in account the deductive reasoning in order to construct and to develop the relation between the observation and consideration by the authors. The aspects of the evolution towards an erect posture and its adaptation processes were analysed; and were considered the definitions about erect posture as indicators of the muscular needs to be reached in order to obtain positive results and the aspects of muscular plasticity. The data compiled through the author under search showed us that to maintain the erect posture, the muscular needs are defined by minimum strive aspects, obsence of fatigue and the combination of equipoised tensional forms... In what he/she tells respect the student's professional training to assist to a great portion of the society, front to the development ofthe stretting work, unpreparedness front your performance was observed. It can be observed that some students to the they try to use, in your performance or people's orientation that develop physical activity, of the prolongation technique, it always lacked the necessary embasamento, or when they administered, they made himlit without they know it existed if same advantages. Several authors that were analyzed here recommend the use of the stretting for your importance in the tension relief, for prevention and rehabilitation of lesions you musc1e-articulate, and above all for the great advantage that offers, be in inactivity conditions or decrease of the functional amount ofthe organism, as valuable exercise in the prevention and minimização of the muscular atrophy. It was had initially, the concern of identifying if it is true the observation that the people use the prolongation a lot and not always they are very informed for the physical education professionals. For so much, a research of field of exploratory character was applied, through a questionnaire to the apprentices, or not, of systematic physical activity. Through the analysis of the answers, it was verified that is really valid our observation, being detected that most (67%) it uses of the technique stretting, and not always it is very informed, doing without having learned the reason and the correct form, finally, it was noticed general information, without especificidade. / PURPOSE To compare the neuromuscular and metabolic responses to the fascia stretching trainig-7 sets (FST-7) method in trained men. METHODS: Twelve strength trained men, with mean age of 29.00 ± 6.10 years, mean weight 84.46 ± 10.28 kg, and mean height 178.02 ± 6.93, were submitted to three resistance exercise sessions in a randomized-crossover counterbalanced design, with an isokinetic knee extension exercise on the right leg. The three exercise sessions were composed by (1) FST-7: 7 sets of 10 repetitions, with 40 seconds as rest interval and static stretching of knee extensors for 20 seconds; (2) Control: 7 sets of 10 repetitions, with 40 seconds as passive rest interval; and Traditional: 7 sets of 10 repetitions, with 120 seconds as passive rest interval. The recovery between each protocol was set between 72 and 192 hours. Total work (TW) and peak torque (PT) were measured by isokinetic dynamometer software. Electromyographic signal was recorded from rectus femoris during all sets. Magnitude and mean power frequency were analyzed. Muscle thickness were measured before and after exercise trough an ultrasound equipment. Blood collection was performed before and after each protocol. RESULTS: FST-7 showed lower TW, and a greater fatigue index compared to CON and TRA. Additionally, FST-7 showed a tendency to decrease on signal magnitude (p = 0.052), and a lower mean power frequency during sets compared to CON and TRA. During repetitions (1st, 5th, and 10th), FST-7 showed a lower signal magnitude and a progressive decrease of MPF, compared to CON and TRA. Muscle thickness (p = 0.780) and blood lactate (p = 0.456) did not differ between methods. CONCLUSION: This study provided evidences that FST-7 may be not suitable to induce strength and thickness gains. Traditional protocol seems to be more efficient to improve strength gains than FST-7 and CON. These results could assist physical trainers and strength training practitioners to choose efficient methods in order to improve mechanic and metabolic stress.

Efeitos do alongamento sobre a matriz extracelular do tendão calcanear de ratos / Effects ot stretching on the extracellular matrix on the calcaneal tendon of rats

Almeida, Fernanda Martins de 05 May 2006 (has links)
Orientador: Edson Rosa Pimentel / Dissertação (mestrado) - Universidade Estadual de Campinas, Instituto de Biologia / Made available in DSpace on 2018-08-06T17:20:03Z (GMT). The tendons are structures that transmit forces from the muscles to the bone, and are capable of supporting high tensile strenghts. Many studies have shown alterations in tendons of animals submitted to strenuous exercises, however, just a little is known about what happens in tendons when they are under a stretching program, a common procedure in academies and phisiotherapy institutes. So our objective was to evaluate the morphological, biochemical and biomechanical aspects of tendons submitted to stretching exercises. Rats had their muscles stretched for a period of 30 seconds with 30 seconds of resting, with 10 repetitions, three and five times a week during 21 days. The tendons were used for morphological and biochemical procedures. They were also submitted to mechanical tensile strain test and their mechanical properties were evaluated. Analysis of AT stained sections of enthesis from stretched tendons, showed a high amount of rounded cells. In the region next to enthesis, which passes close to the calcaneous, the metachromasy was more intense in stretched groups. In the tension region, in the HE stained sections, it was found a larger alignment of the cells in the stretched group. In both regions occurred an increase on the amount of cells. In the sections submitted to Von Kossa reaction, was observed, a calcified region in all groups, but the extracellular matrix were denser in stretched ones. Analysis of SDS-Page showed a high amount of collagen and the presence of a polidisperse component of 65 kDa in the tension and compression regions in all groups. The amount of proteins, glycosaminoglycans and hydroxiproline was higher in the tendons of three and five times stretched groups. The agarose gel revealed the presence of dermatan sulfate in the tension and compression regions and chondroitin sulfate only in this last one. During the mechanical tensile strain test, the stretched tendon supported high values of maximum stress with the same strain, when compared to the control group, suggesting that the stretched tendons were more resistant to the failure. These results show that the stimulus of stretching leads to alterations in the structural, biochemical and biomechanical characteristics, confirming the adaptative character of tendons, in response to the application of stretching exercises / Mestrado / Biologia Celular / Mestre em Biologia Celular e Estrutural

Volumes de AE com até 120 segundos não alteram o comportamento da força muscular isométrica ou atividade EMG em jovens e idosas / This thesis aimed to explore the interaction between chronic and acute static stretching (SS) exercises and performance of the neuromuscular system in elderly women. Three studies were conducted to achieve the following purposes: a) analyze the effect of age and SS volume (60 and 120 seconds) on rate of force development (RFD), maximal voluntary contraction (MVC), electromechanical delay and electromyographic (EMG) activity in different angles; b) analyze the effect of eight weeks of flexibility training on acute responses of RFD and MVC after a protocol SS in elderly women and; c) analyze the effect of SS on muscle endurance, total volume of exercise Leg-Press (3 x 15 maximal repetitions) and neuromuscular recovery in older women. The results show that different volumes of AE (60 and 120 seconds) does not lead to significant changes in EMG amplitude, electromechanical delay, isometric strength performance at different angles (50°, 70°, 90°) and age. Flexibility training did not alter acutely RFD and MVC after conducting a SS routine or promoted chronic changes. The SS exercise for major muscle groups of the lower limbs promotes a decrease in the number of repetitions in the Leg Press-horizontal and the total volume. In conclusion, only the acute performance of dynamic strength seems to be negatively influenced by SS in older women. SS volume less than 120 seconds does not change the isometric muscle strength or EMG activity in young and older adults

Volumes de AE com até 120 segundos não alteram o comportamento da força muscular isométrica ou atividade EMG em jovens e idosas / Abstract: This thesis aimed to explore the interaction between chronic and acute static stretching (SS) exercises and performance of the neuromuscular system in elderly women.

Perin, Andrea 05 April 2013 (has links)
The Sit and Reach Test (SR) is the most widely used assessment of hamstrings flexibility, however, some factors can influence their results as a behavior of the spine. This research aims to determine the contribution of the hip joint, of the lumbar and thoracic spine in the execution of SR in young Brazilians. The descriptive observational study subjects were 195 young men from 18 to 19 years. To identify the contribution of body segments in flexion of the trunk it was evaluated the SR together with angular kinematic analysis through of Photogrammetry. To that end, we developed a protocol for evaluating reference angles that were transformed into percentage contribution of the segments. The angles and percentages were classified into two reference standards of the SR, which identified that the best ranking in SR, greater use of hip and lower utilization of the thoracic spine. The lumbar spine was stable during movement. The angles and percentages were also classified in the categories of BMI, revealing that obese people use more hip to perform the movement, because they cannot make compensation with thoracic spine. Based on the results, it was possible to create a table of classification of angles and percentages, which allowed for the identification and compensation movement patterns in accordance with the condition of the muscles involved. It can be concluded the contributions of the thoracic spine, lumbar spine and hip in performing the SR are respectively 46.014%, 12.676%, 41.309%. However, only the measure of the SR does not permit this detail because its result refers to the total trunk flexion and hip flexion. Thus, it is recommended that evaluation of flexion of the thoracic spine, lumbar spine and hip joint are performed separately by photogrammetry, based on the average parameters and protocol established in this study, through the classification of their values in the proposed categories.
