The main causes associated with human activities are causes of population, poverty, religious causes, political conflicts, and the causes associated with nature: global warming and soil degradation. Natural causes unrelated to human activity have the primary influence on agricultural production. Various natural disasters and climate change can not be affected by people.

Zpravodajství České tiskové kanceláře z Latinské Ameriky / The news of Czech news agency from Latin AmericaKovácsová, Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
The aim of the thesis The news of Czech News Agency from Latin America is to document the form of the Czech News Agency's text news from Latin America, to reveal whether the agency fulfills its obligation to inform about events abroad according to Act No. 517/92 Coll., and also to expand the very limited number of studies related to this topic. This work deals with news agencies and takes into consideration the CTK as a public institution and outlines the characteristics of Latin America and its relations with our country. Using quantitative content analysis, I find out how much space CTK spends on the countries of the North, Central and South America, which countries are re-informing and which countries virtually ignore in its news. I examine what priority messages are usually assigned and which areas of public life are concerned. Last but not least, I compare the monitored reality from the first half of 2016 to the first half of 2006 to reveal how much informing about Latin America has changed over the course of a decade. At thesis I provide a detailed analysis of Czech News Agency's production from Latin American countries, which no one has ever dealt with in the Czech environment so far, and present the results of my analysis in the tables and charts.

The economics of organized crime: evidence on FDI attraction in Latin America and Caribbean / Ekonomika organizovaného zločinu: Přímé zahraniční investice v Latinské Americe a KaribikuTošovský, Štěpán January 2016 (has links)
This paper attempts to investigate the degree to which organized crime affects FDI in 15 Latin America and Caribbean countries during 2006-2014 period. We employed four crime proxies: homicide rate, organized crime index, business cost of terrorism index and business cost of crime index and analyzed their impact on overall, sectoral and industrial FDI inflows. We find evidence of a deterrent effect of organized crime on FDI inflows; in particular on FDI in secondary and tertiary sectors. On the contrary FDI inflows in more extractive industries - primary sector - are less affected by the presence of organized crime

HUMOROUS ADVERTISING : A STUDY OF U.S. TV ADS IN SWEDENChristensen, Filip, Skoggård, Peter January 2017 (has links)
Globalization has resulted in cultures becoming more alike in many ways. The challenge is determining when communication methods can be common for a global market as opposed to targeted messages for a specific geographic area or demographic. When companies try to expand internationally they face the challenge of adapting their advertisement when communicating with customers from a new market. This study strives to analyze the impact of U.S. humorous television advertisements on Swedish consumers. Theory suggests that if the culture between the markets are close to each other, standardization is the most cost efficient plan. Humor is a common tool for companies to employ when communicating with consumers through television advertisement. It has many positives affects, but can also result in negative impact if the humor is misunderstood by the consumer. A case study was applied for this project, and all data was gathered from two separate focus groups. The focus groups included six members each, equal divided between genders. Both focus groups were introduced to five humorous television ads that have been aired in the U.S. market but not in the Swedish market. After the participants were introduced to the humorous ads, the moderator had four questions to the participants which led to discussions within the focus groups. The result of this study indicates that U.S. companies must adapt their humorous television advertisements when communicating with Swedish consumers. The Swedish consumers experienced the ads as confusing and hard to understand. Findings also indicates that the culture and the language became an issue for companies when trying to convey a message to Swedish consumers without any adaptations of the ad.

Identifikace a analýza dopadů poslední hospodářské krize na vybrané země Afriky (Nigérie a Malawi) a Latinské Ameriky (Brazílie a Belize) v letech 2007 - 2014 / Identification and Analysis of the Impacts of the Economic Crisis on Chosen Countries of Africa (Nigeria and Malawi) and Latin America (Brazil and Belize) between 2007-2014Kašlík, Jan January 2015 (has links)
This thesis studies the identification and analysis of the impact of the latest economic crisis of 2008 on selected countries of the world with the purpose of identifying the relevance of channels through which the financial and economic crisis has spread to these countries. The thesis focuses on two regions of the world: Africa and Latin America. In both of these regions two countries are chosen to be analyzed more closely. These are Nigeria and Malawi for Africa, Brazil for South America and Belize for Central America. The possible channels of transmission of the crisis were identified to be private capital flows, international trade and commodity prices, remittances and international aid. In the analysis of the chosen countries, it was identified that the most important channels were international trade, commodity prices and capital flows. On the other hand the least impactful channels were remittances and international aid. These were rather stable during the crisis and in the case of aid even played a countercyclical role.
