A tecnologia emergente dos dispositivos móveis como telefones celulares, handhelds e smartphones trouxe um novo paradigma para o uso desses equipamentos, que, além das convencionais chamadas de áudio, hoje suportam vídeo, internet e redes sem fio. Várias aplicações têm sido desenvolvidas para esse ambiente. Por outro lado, na área da automação industrial, os instrumentos de campo modernos contêm embutidos, internamente, conjuntos de informações que proporcionam grande oportunidade para a gestão de ativos. A necessidade do gerenciamento de ativos ocorre na fase de operação da planta industrial e é realizada por meio de ajustes finos, calibrações, alteração de configurações e manutenções, com o objetivo de se evitar paradas indesejadas. Esse trabalho insere-se no contexto de interface entre esses dois mundos: a computação móvel e o gerenciamento de ativos. Nesse sentido, é desenvolvida uma análise dos padrões abertos PROFIBUS PA, HART e Foundation Fieldbus e o uso das suas características aplicado ao gerenciamento de ativos. É apresentada, ainda, uma proposta e verificação de viabilidade técnica de uma arquitetura aplicada ao gerenciamento de ativos a partir de um dispositivo móvel usando-se um canal de comunicação seguro baseado no padrão CyberOPC para acesso à planta industrial / The emerging technology of mobile devices like cell phones, hand helds and smartphones has brought a new paradigm for the use of such equipment, witch, in addition to conventional audio calls, now supports video, internet and wireless networks. Several applications have been developed for this environment. On the other hand, in the industrial automation area, the modern field devices contain embedded information sets that provide great opportunity for asset management. The need for asset management occurs during the operation of the plant and is performed by means of fine tuning, calibration, changes of configuration and maintenance, in order to avoid undesired downtime. This work fits into the context of interface between these two worlds: mobile computing and asset management. In this sense, is made an analysis of open standards PROFIBUS PA, HART and Foundation Fieldbus and use its features applied to asset management. It also presented a proposal and verification of technical feasibility of an architecture applied to asset management from a mobile device using a secure communication channel based on the standard CyberOPC to access the industrial plant

Dans le Cloud, peu de travaux traitent de l’analyse de l’usage réel et dynamique des logiciels consommés afin de déterminer les coûts réels engendrés et le respect des droits acquis auprès des fournisseurs de ces ressources. L’émergence de la pratique du Software Asset Management (SAM) traduit pourtant la préoccupation grandissante des industriels et des ‘Telcos’ (Entreprises de télécommunications) face à la complexité des modèles de licences dans des environnements virtualisés qui bouleversent nos usages de logiciel.La réponse des éditeurs de logiciel est souvent une incitation à ne plus suivre la consommation de licences, par le biais de contrats onéreux de consommation illimitée, rendant impossible une politique de maîtrise des coûts. Pour les utilisateurs finaux comme pour les fournisseurs de services cloud, il devient impératif de maîtriser et d’optimiser le déploiement des licences dans le Cloud.L’objectif devient celui de maitriser les besoins logiciels, au plus proche du temps réel, puis de générer des scénarii d’optimisation basés sur l’évolution de la consommation en modélisant les coûts réels afférents. Cela représente un levier de gains considérables pour tous les acteurs du cycle de vie du logiciel.Le contexte d’étude couvre l’ensemble du scope du Cloud (applications, plateformes, infrastructures et réseaux). Les travaux présentés ici s’attache à reconstituer tout le cycle de vie du logiciel, de l’achat jusqu’à la désinstallation, en intégrant les contraintes liées à sa nature ou à son usage. For final users like for cloud service providers, it is crucial to manage and optimize license deployment in cloud environments.The aim is first to control Software need, as close as possible to real time, then to generate optimization scenario based on consumption evolution by cost modelization.It represents a valuable saving leverage and may let spring up new licensing model, more profitable for each software lifecycle’s stakeholders.Usage context covers all scope of Cloud (application, infrastructure and network). Our works propose to rebuild the Software life-cycle, from procurement to deinstallation, encompassing the constraints of it nature and usages. We propose to solve software identification issue by creation and monitoring of tags.Additionally, we propose an innovative modeling based on a graph database which allows instant integration of configuration changes, to take into account the different level of responsibility induced by the different level of granted services. It offers enough flexibility to handle classical licensing models as use-based model which are often more attractive for cloud-users.Two use-cases will be developed to evaluate our models ‘efficiency : the software licensing management in PaaS (Plateform as a Service) context and in NFV environments (Network Function Virtualization).

Bakgrund: Artificiell Intelligens (AI) och maskininlärning implementeras i allt större grad på de finansiella marknaderna världen över. Syftet med implementeringen av AI inom finanssektorn innefattar bland annat kostnadsminimering, effektivisering, reducering av mänsklig bias samt ökning av intäkter för företagens verksamheter. Inom finansiell rådgivning och kapitalförvaltning finns brister gällande oberoende, kostnader, bias samt effektivisering varför det är relevant att undersöka hur dessa områden kan effektiviseras och förbättras med hjälp av AI. Vidare är det av intresse att undersöka hur människans roll kan komma att påverkas. Syfte: Syftet med denna studie är att analysera hur kapitalförvaltning och finansiell rådgivning kan påverkas av implementeringen av AI och hur synen på AI är inom dessa två områden. Metod: Studien är utformad utifrån en kvalitativ flerfallstudiedesign. Studiens empiriska material har samlats in från respondenter i två olika urvalsgrupper: kapitalförvaltare och finansiella rådgivare. Data har insamlats genom sju semistrukturerade intervjuer. Slutsats: Studiens resultat visar att AI har stor potential att reducera inslag av bias inom rådgivning och kapitalförvaltning. Styrkan i AI-lösningar återfinns i kombinationen av mänsklig intelligens och Artificiell Intelligens. Vidare står det klart att implementering av AI kan bidra till effektivare datahantering, kostnadshantering samt stordriftsfördelar. Implementeringen skapar möjligheter till ökad kundnytta samt en utökad kundgrupp. Vidare visar studiens resultat att AI har potential att minska intressekonflikter i form av Agency Theory. Slutligen visar studiens resultat att den framtida rådgivningen och kapitalförvaltningen sannolikt kommer ha inslag av cyborg finance, en samverkan mellan Artificiell Intelligens och mänsklig intelligens i form av hybridtjänster där de bästa egenskaperna från bådadera förenas. Our study aims to analyse how these areas can be improved and become more efficient with AI. In addition, it is interesting to study what role the human is likely to take on as AI is increasingly being implemented. Aim: The purpose of this study is to analyse how AI can affect asset management and financial advisory, and also to study the public opinion of this transformation. Methodology: This study has been designed by a qualitative research strategy. The empirical data derives from two different respondent groups: asset management and financial advisory. The data has been collected through seven semi-structured interviews. Conclusion: The result of this study indicates that AI has the potential to reduce biases within financial advisory and asset management. The strength of AI-solutions lies in the combination between Artificial Intelligence and human intelligence. Furthermore, an implementation of AI contributes to a higher efficiency when it comes to data handling, cost efficiency as well as economies of scale. This creates opportunities to reach a higher customer benefit and a wider customer group. Moreover, the study indicates that AI has the potential of reducing conflicts of interest and agency problems. Lastly, this study indicates that the future of financial advisory and asset management is likely to consist of cyborg finance. In other words, cooperation between Artificial Intelligence and human intelligence is likely to become commonplace, in the shape of hybrid services where the best attributes of humans and AI work together. O conjunto de leis, decretos e instrumentos regulatórios que regem o setor elétrico a partir da virada deste século é bastante complexo. Em paralelo, o desafio constante da expansão da oferta de energia elétrica para o atendimento da demanda sempre crescente de um país em desenvolvimento como o Brasil requer análise profunda de seu arranjo institucional. Adicionalmente, a expansão da oferta também depende do desenvolvimento de ferramentas para melhorar a gestão dos ativos de geração de energia elétrica que irão atender esse desafio. Neste contexto, o presente trabalho se propõe a fazer um mapeamento dos principais componentes de incerteza e risco associados à geração de energia elétrica no Brasil sob o ponto de vista regulatório. Analisa, assim, o modelo em vigor desde a promulgação da Lei 10.848 de 2004, o qual promove a competição entre fontes de energia de natureza complementar, mas com características distintas. No percurso deste estudo são discutidos instrumentos para avaliar o arranjo das unidades de geração em um portfolio de ativos de fontes diversas, bem como seus principais componentes e, em que medida, a regulação em vigor favorece a sinergia entre as diferentes fontes de geração elétrica. Na medida em que este arranjo setorial se baseia na contratação de energia elétrica de longo prazo, os resultados deste trabalho indicam que a sinergia desejada entre as fontes de geração de energia elétrica fica restrita apenas ao mercado de curto prazo, extremamente volátil, conquanto poderia ser aproveitada no desenho de um portfolio mais eficiente, tanto para o país quanto para os investidores em geração. / The set of laws, decrees and regulatory instruments leading the electricity sector in the new century is quite complex in Brazil. In parallel, the constant challenge of expanding the supply of energy to meet the ever increasing demand of a developing country requires a deep analysis of this institutional configuration designed to simplify the understanding of the sector major issues and improve the management assets to generate electricity that will meet this challenge. This work intends to map the key uncertainty and risk components associated with power generation in Brazil under the regulatory perspective. To do so, it analyzes the model in place since the enactment of Law #10,848 in 2004 which promotes the competition among energy sources with different characteristics. In the course of the text here presented it is conducted a discussion about the tools designed to evaluate the selection of power plants in a portfolio of assets from different energy sources, analyzing its main components, and the synergy level among these different sources. Additionally, it is also addressed the regulatory environment and its implications for the power industry in Brazil. Through this study it was found that the extent to which this regulatory arrangement is based on long term power purchase agreements, the desired synergy between sources of power generation is restricted to the highly volatile spot market, although it could be used in designing a more efficient portfolio, both for the country and for investors in generation.

Este trabalho tem o objetivo de discutir conceitos, desafios e perspectivas relacionados à aplicação de tecnologias de automação e informação em minas subterrâneas. Exemplos de aplicação contextualizam técnicas e tecnologias atuais de lavra, suas tendências de evolução para o futuro e a interação com aspectos humanos, operacionais e gerenciais. Dados coletados, referentes a indicadores de produtividade e confiabilidade, são utilizados para um estudo sobre a utilização de um jumbo de perfuração computadorizado nas operações de desenvolvimento e produção de uma mina subterrânea no Brasil. Uma série de desafios devem ser considerados para que sistemas computadorizados embarcados em conjunto com infraestrutura de tecnologia da informação se tornem parte da estratégia operacional. Gestores devem efetivamente adaptar as organizações a novos padrões de segurança, eficiência operacional e gestão integrada da informação. A padronização de interfaces deve ser aceita como premissa básica para a integração de processos. / This study aims to discuss the concepts, challenges and perspectives related to automation and information technologies application in underground mines. Application examples contextualize current mining techniques and technology, future evolution and the interaction with human, operational and management aspects. Productivity and reliability data collected are used to study the utilization of a computerized drilling jumbo for development and production operations in an underground mine in Brazil. A series of challenges must be considered for onboard electronic systems combined with information technology infrastructure become part of the operational strategy. Leaders must effectively manage to adapt organizations to new standards. It is evident the value-added operation with all the benefits related to safety, operational efficiency and integrated information management. Interface standardization must be accepted as a basic premise for process integration.

O ato de investir recursos vem se tornando uma tarefa que exige cada vez mais atenção por parte dos investidores. As alternativas de investimento vêm aumentando, oferecendo aos investidores muitas opções em termos de risco, retorno e liquidez. Uma dessas alternativas é o fundo de investimento, uma indústria cujo patrimônio tem crescido muito ao longo do tempo. Atualmente, há mais de R$ 200 bilhões aplicados nas diversas modalidades de fundos oferecidos pelas instituições administradoras de recursos. Escolher qual fundo investir não é tarefa simples, nem mesmo para grandes investidores. As alternativas são inúmeras e as informações nem sempre estão facilmente disponíveis. Oferecer um método que possibilite avaliar e classificar fundos de investimento é o objetivo maior deste trabalho. Busca-se, aqui, um método que contemple, além de variáveis quantitativas, variáveis qualitativas, bem como aspectos relacionados à instituição administradora do fundo. Para alcançar tal objetivo, desenvolveu-se a pesquisa em duas etapas. Na primeira, foram levantadas e agrupadas, através de pesquisa bibliográfica, as variáveis que poderiam vir a fazer parte do método. A segunda etapa foi dedicada à obtenção da ponderação que cada variável e grupo de variável deveria ter no método. Para tanto, foi realizada uma pesquisa de campo junto a determinados grupos de investidores e consultores. O resultado permite que um avaliador dê notas às variáveis e, seguindo o método, obtenha uma nota final para o fundo de investimento analisado. Por fim, sugere-se um modo de classificação de fundos de investimento que procura ser de fácil entendimento, mesmo para aqueles investidores que não são especialistas em mercado financeiro. / Investing money has becoming a task that demands always more attention by investors. Investment alternatives has been growing, offering investors many options in terms of risk, return and liquidity. One of these alternatives is mutual fund, an industry whose assets have been growing a lot during the last years. Nowadays, there are more than R$ 200 billions invested in mutual funds, offered by asset managers. Choosing a fund to invest is not a simple task, even for main investors. There are many alternatives and information is not easily available. Offering a method that permits evaluate and rate mutual funds is the main purpose of this research. This method includes quantitative and qualitative variables, as well as aspects related to its asset manager. To attain this objective, this research was developed in two steps. Firstly, it was selected variables that could be part of the method, by bibliographic search. Secondly, it was obtained weights for both the variables and their group. This goal was achieved through a questionnaire sent to specific investors and consultants. The final result permits an analyst to give a grade to each variable and, using the method, to obtain a final classification for the analyzed fund. This dissertation suggests also a method for ranking mutual funds which intents to be easily comprehended, even to those investors that are not specialized in investment market.

Previous issue date: 2016-01-08 / Given the current economic scenario experienced by companies in the Brazilian energy sector and for having intensive reliance on characteristics of its assets, proper asset management is critical to meet the needs of all stakeholders in the business. In this context, the productivity gain is a sine qua non for the survival of any company included in a scenario where the quality of energy supply, with appropriate costs, is the main goal. This work will address the use of Total Productive Management (TPM) methodology in an electricity distribution company for managing its assets, mainly in the maintenance and operation phases of its operating cycle. Thus, the current situation will be explored in the Brazilian electric sector and its main challenges, the current concept of the TPM methodology and the development of international norms in asset management since the creation of the British specification publicly available PAS 55, until the release of the new standard ISO 5500. We will evaluate the results of the implementation of the pillars autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance and specific improvement of Total Productive Management (TPM) in an electricity distribution company. They will also be addressed the requirements of the new standard ISO 55000 asset management that these pillars meet TPM and its contribution to an excellent management of the assets of a distributor of electricity. Finally, the results achieved by the company after two years of use of the TPM are shown. / Devido ao atual cenário econômico vivido pelas empresas do setor energético brasileiro e por possuírem características de dependência intensiva dos ativos, uma adequada gestão de ativos é fundamental para atender as necessidades de todas as partes interessadas no negócio. Neste contexto, o ganho de produtividade é condição sine qua non para a sobrevivência de qualquer empresa inserida num cenário onde a qualidade no fornecimento de energia, com custos adequados, é o objetivo principal. Assim, neste trabalho será abordado a utilização da metodologia de Gestão Produtiva Total (TPM), do inglês Total Productive Management, em uma empresa de distribuição de energia elétrica para gestão de seus ativos, principalmente nas fases de manutenção e operação do seu ciclo operacional. Para tanto, será explorado o atual cenário do setor elétrico brasileiro e seus principais desafios, o atual conceito da metodologia do TPM e a evolução da normatização internacional em gestão de ativos desde a criação da especificação britânica disponível publicamente PAS 55, até o lançamento da nova norma ABNT NBR ISO 5500. Serão avaliados os resultados da implantação dos pilares manutenção autônoma, manutenção planejada e melhoria específica da Gestão Produtiva Total (TPM) em uma empresa de distribuição de energia elétrica. Serão também abordados os requisitos da nova norma ABNT NBR ISO 55000 de gestão de ativos que esses pilares do TPM atendem e sua contribuição para uma gestão excelente dos ativos de uma distribuidora de energia elétrica. Por fim, serão mostrados os resultados alcançados pela companhia após dois anos de utilização da metodologia do TPM.
