Autocompletion Without Static Typing

Shelley, Nicholas McKay 30 June 2014 (has links) (PDF)
Code completion systems act both as a way to decrease typing and as a way to easily access documentation, both implicit and explicit. The former is typically done by completing known variable or function names, while the latter is done by providing a list of possible completions or by providing convenient views of or access to documentation. Because static type information makes these goals possible and feasible for qualifying languages, many improvements to completion systems are focused on improving the order of results or trimming less-valuable results. It follows that almost all validation techniques for this work have focused on proving how well a completion system can put a desired result at the top of the list. However, because of the lack of static type information in dynamically-typed languages, achieving the aforementioned goals is much harder, and many of the completion suggestions may even result in compile-time or runtime crashes. Unfortunately, of the work done on creating completers for these languages, little validation work has been done, making it hard to determine what improvements can be made. This thesis provides two validation techniques that provide information both on how well completion suggestions are ordered and also which completion suggestions result in errors. This information will be used to guide the development and evolution of a completion system for the Racket programming language.

Parameter estimation and auto-calibration of the STREAM-C model

Sinha, Sumit 07 May 2005 (has links)
The STREAMC model is based on the same algorithm as implemented by the Steady Riverine Environmental Assessment Model (STREAM), a mathematical model for the dissolved oxygen (DO) distribution in freshwater streams used by Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ). Typically the water quality models are calibrated manually. In some cases where some objective criterion can be identified to quantify a successful calibration, an auto calibration may be preferable to the manual calibration approach. The auto calibration may be particularly applicable to relatively simple analytical models such as the steady-state STREAMC model. Various techniques of parameter estimation were identified for the model. The model was then subjected to various techniques of parameter estimation identified and/or developed. The parameter estimates obtained by different techniques were tabulated and compared. A final recommendation regarding a preferable parameter estimation technique leading to the auto calibration of the STREAMC model was made.

Digital Auto-Correlator: Design and Construction

Masuko, Akira 05 1900 (has links)
This thesis describes a portable special-purpose digital instrument which uses digital-computer processes to provide decimal readouts of the autocorrelation function (and hence the mean square value too) of a fluctuating voltage, and also of the measuring time involved. The mathematical concepts set out in a paper by R. Kitai and F. Diest¹ are extended to provide the basic equations for the measurement of correlation function. The design and construction processes using integrated circuits are described in detail. The time difference between two samples can be varied at will from 10 μseconds downwards, with no lower limit. The measurement commences on a start signal and runs for a programmed time. Readouts are available immediately after the end of the measuring time. The upper frequency limit is several KHz. There are no low-frequency limits. Some familiar signals were measured and the results confirm that the system works satisfactorily. / Thesis / Master of Engineering (ME)

Auto profile

Anumula, Srikar January 1900 (has links)
Master of Science / Department of Computing and Information Sciences / Daniel A. Andresen / Present times most of the applications allow users to set profiles and activate them manually. Also, there is no such application to alert the calling person automatically whenever we are busy in a meeting. Auto Profile is an application which addresses these issues. Using this application, a custom profile can be created and activated. The user of this application can create any number of custom profiles with their own timings depending on their requirements from the available set of ringer modes such as vibration, silent, normal modes. All these settings will be changed automatically when they define a profile and set it as active. Every profile can be scheduled according to their wish. Also, users can define how often and how long they would like to activate the selected profile. Auto Profile Switcher will recognize their profile based on the current time and it will apply the right profile at the right time according to the given settings. For instance, they can save a home profile and a work profile, and the application will automatically switch from one to other automatically, without any user action. It's also possible for the users to apply manually saved profile wherever they are. Also, the application allows users not to bother about the calls from important persons when they are in some important meeting or busy. Automatically profile is activated as scheduled and sends a respective alert to the caller according to the profile activated. Auto Profile application is user-friendly and easy to use. The proposed application is developed for the android platform, which is used to create custom profiles and make sure that the tasks are executed as scheduled. This relieves users as they do not need to bother about the calls when they are in some important meeting or busy. As this is a mobile application users can easily organize their action wherever they are with ease.

Becerra Rodríguez, Maximiliano Andrés January 2014 (has links)

Antigènes leucocytaires humains, microchimérisme et auto-anticorps dans la sclérodermie systémique / Human leukocyte antigens, microchimerism and autoantibodies in systemic sclerosis

Azzouz, Doua 29 June 2012 (has links)
Systemic sclerosis (SSc) is a rare and complex autoimmune disease clinically divided into two subgroups: diffuse cutaneous (dcSSc) and limited cutaneous (lcSSc). Anti-topoisomerase and anti-centromere antibodies (ATA and ACA) are respectively markers of each subset. Many studies have analyzed Human Leukocyte Antigen (HLA) genes, the strongest genetic risk factor, in several ethnic groups in patients with SSc. Most common HLA-DRB1 (*11:01, *11:04, *15:01, *08:02…) and HLA-DQB1 (*03:01, *03:02, *06:01 and *06:02) susceptibility alleles have in common an amino acid sequence, respectively 67FLEDR71 and 71TRAELDT77 on their β chains. For the first time, we evaluate the relative risk conferred by one or two 67FLEDR71 and/or one or two 71TRAELDT77 motives among Caucasian French patients with SSc. We show that 67FLEDR71 motif is highly associated with dcSSc and even more with ATA production, whereas 71TRAELDT77 association is weaker in both subgroups. Our group has recently shown in Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) that patients who lack the RA HLA susceptibility that it could be transferred to patients via fetal and/or maternal cells, also called microchimerism (Mc). We test the same hypothesis in SSc. Contrary to RA, our results fail to demonstrate such transfer of HLA susceptibility via Mc in SSc. Finally linked to a particular HLA genotype is the presence of autoantibodies, helpful for disease diagnosis and/or prognosis (i.e. ACA or ATA). Patients who do not have these markers are difficult to diagnose or classify. By ProtoArray® technique, we identify 6 new auto-antigens in the plasmas of SSc patients.

Exploiting Wi-Fi-Direct Service Discovery for Prototyping of Car-to-Car Communication

Gunda, Venkatesh Goud 01 November 2016 (has links) (PDF)
Inter-Vehicular Communication is an optimistic technology to enhance road safety. The wireless medium often used to exchange vital information. Wi-Fi is also used to share the information, but it required an access point hardware to communicate. Wi-Fi Direct enabled the device exchange information without a hardware access point. Over the last decades, the usage of wireless technology has been increased and transformed the way electronic devices interact and communicate. Wi-Fi Direct technology provides peer-to-peer communication. So, Wi-Fi is highly applicable for car-to-car communication because of its High data rate, range, standard usage. Within the framework of this thesis concept of prototyping car-to-car communication by using Wi-Fi Direct service in smartphones. Focus here to optimize resource utilization and to provide basic functionality within the programming mode.
