Johann Sebastian Bachs Chaconne är den sista satsen ur partita nr. 2 för soloviolin och anses som en av världens främsta kompositioner för violin. Inte enbart är själva musiken fängslande men tekniken kräver också mycket av solisten. Följande studie handlar om att undersöka uppkomsten kring verket, och genom detta uppnå en djupare interpretation inför ett framförande för publik. Detta genomfördes främst genom litteratur, internetkällor och notbilden. Genom notbilden har musiken analyserats på en musikteoretisk nivå samt en emotionell nivå grundad i psykologiska perspektiv. Följden av dessa analyser är en fördjupad uppskattning av musiken och intressanta insikter om musik och interpretation, både gällande Chaconne och övriga musikstycken. / <p>J.S. Hinter „Bach Digital“ verbirgt sich die Idee einer digitalen Bibliothek aller erhaltenen Originalhandschriften Johann Sebastian Bachs. Das seit 2008 von der DFG geförderte Projekt wird vom Bach-Archiv Leipzig, der Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin und der SLUB Dresden betreut, in denen etwa 90% der Originalhandschriften überliefert sind. Um in absehbarer Zeit alle Bach-Autographe zu vereinen, werden Vorgespräche mit der Library of Congress in Washington, der New York Public Library und der British Library in London geführt.

The Use of "Computer-Assisted Contrapuntal, Intervallic, and Motion Analysis" as a Tool to Help Determine the Authorship of Organ Works in the Neumeister CollectionInagi, Shinji, Inagi, Shinji January 2016 (has links)
The noted Bach scholar Christoph Wolff and two other researchers made one of the more noteworthy musicological finds of the late twentieth century in 1984, when they first rediscovered and then published MS LM 4708 of the John Herrick Music Library of Yale University. This MS, which was published under the title The Neumeister Collection, contains 82 organ chorales, many previously unknown, by members of the Bach circle. Of those 82 chorales, five pieces appear without attribution and six works have been published that were previously attributed to other composers. Wolff's edition, which lists composers for all 82 chorales, relies largely upon stylistic analysis when assigning attributions for pieces with multiple attributions. This document introduces a new analytic tool that can be used to generate information relevant to questions of authorship in the Neumeister chorales; this important tool is a computer program called MATLAB. MATLAB can compile and tabulate information about the melodic, intervallic, and contrapuntal content of musical compositions by analyzing XML computer files produced by standard music software programs such as Finale or Sibelius. This data then can be used to generate graphs that can be compared between compositions. Such analysis sheds new light upon the musical choices of composers represented in The Neumeister Collection and makes possible more informed judgments about pieces with multiple attributions.

Fiddling och Bach : Speltekniker och instudering i två olika musikstilarLundberg, Sanna January 2017 (has links)
Syftet med arbetet är att jämföra två musikstycken från skilda stilar, ett barockstycke och ett verk influerat av amerikansk folkmusik, och se ifall jag kan applicera tekniker, instuderingsmetoder och musikaliska infallsvinklar på liknande sätt i båda styckena. De stycken jag har valt är Concerto for Jazz violin and Orchestra, 1: Blue Reel av Scott Routenberg och Partita III i E-dur, 1: Prelude, för soloviolin av Johann Sebastian Bach. I min arbetsprocess har jag även instuderat en ”äkta” bluegrasslåt, Ragtime Annie, för att få inspiration och hjälp till instuderandet av stycket för jazzviolin. Arbetets konstnärliga del består av en inspelning av varje stycke i slutskedet av instuderingen. Under mitt arbete har jag kommit fram till att de flesta svårigheter var av samma tekniska karaktär och att man kan använda sig av samma sorts instuderingsmetoder i båda styckena. Jag har även upptäckt att spelsätt och tekniker från den klassiska traditionen, som användes i Bachs Prelude, kunde appliceras på Blue Reel, men vissa typiska stråktekniker från Ragtime Annie inte fungerade lika bra i Bachs Prelude. Arbetet har resulterat i insikten att en god grundteknik och ett medvetet spelsätt är grundförutsättningen för att kunna spela musik från flera musikstilar och traditioner.

Denna skriftliga reflektion inom konstnärligt examensarbete består av en analys av J.S. Bachs Chaccone i d-moll från den andra violinpartitan (BWV 1004). Stycket är skrivet för oackompanjerad violin och i studien utforskas hur man utför en transkription till klassisk gitarr. Texten innehåller viss bakgrund till Bachs troliga livssituation vid styckets tillkomst. Även min interpretation och mitt framförande av stycket redovisas. I studien illustreras många av de aspekter som måste tas i beaktande när man tar sig an ett sådant här stort och komplext verk.
