ZBROJOVKA BRNO / ZBROJOVKA FACTORY BRNOStaffová, Eva January 2014 (has links)
Master thesis is developing a realistic strategy for regeneration and development of the post-industrial factory complex Zbrojovka Brno. Theme of thesis is to involve inaccessible area back into city life. Zbrojovka is not a typical brownfield area. Production was stopped in 2006 and the area is surprisingly full of life today, roughly 50 % of the land is used, leased objects are conserved and not decay. The main theme is transformation of the factory environment into a viable multi-functional urban area using the principles of sustainable urbanism. Compared to the developer plan this proposal maintain existing structures for further development. Zbrojovka factory is a place with unique atmosphere, with genius loci, which is worth preserving. The proposal uses the newly created public spaces as a catalyst for development and aims to attract “creative class“ that could Zbrojovka get into wider public awareness and attract the necessary investment for creation a lively part of the city with an industrial soul.

Submitted by Marcelo Teixeira (mvteixeira@ucs.br) on 2014-06-04T19:06:59Z

These areas are called brownfields, and can be found in virtually all countries, industrialized or under intense process of industrialization in any of the Continents. It is necessary to study the current status of brownfields management, which have been being a mark of industrialized cities, and the instruments used to promote their revitalization or refunctioning, especially the legal mechanisms created for this purpose. The Metropolitan Region of São Paulo in Brazil is emblematic case both in finding and comfirming the formation of brownfields by relocation of industrial enterprises, as well the pioneer way in innovating and deploying tools for urban areas revitalization, combining political and legal initiatives. Also, the very recent CONAMA Resolution 420 of December 28th, 2009, appears as the first legislation on the issue from federal initiative in Brazil, and raises the hope that the problem is finally addressed adequately in the country, though still worthy of improvements and complementary measures.

Apleistos karinės teritorijos yra aktualus klausimas visoje Rytų Europoje, nes, pasibaigus Šaltajam karui, čia tapo nebenaudojami daug karinės paskirties statinių, kurių konversijos problematika nagrinėjama magistro darbe. Darbą sudaro įvadas, 3 dalys, išvados ir priedai. Pirmojoje darbo dalyje nagrinėjama su konversija susijusių Europos organizacijų ir JAV gynybos departamento parengta medžiaga bei kiti dokumentai apie XIX–XX a. karinių teritorijų vertę ir turistinį potencialą, jų konversijos teikiamas galimybes, konversijos dalyvius, jos valdymo struktūrą, finansavimo mechanizmus ir specifines marketingo strategijas, paramą teikiančias organizacijas, konversijos modelius. Antrojoje dalyje informacija apibendrinama ir papildoma bei suformuojamas konversijos paramos informacinės sistemos modelis. Trečiojoje dalyje, naudojant daugiakriterinį vertinimo metodą „ARAS“, palyginami 29 įgyvendinti konversijos projektai. Darbo apimtis – 129p. su priedais. Darbe yra 36 paveikslai, 31 lentelė, 97 bibliografiniai šaltiniai, 3 priedai. / Abandoned military sites is an important issue in whole Eastern Europe as after the Cold War here many military objects have been desolated. Investigations of Pile Foundations in BrownfieldsSatyamurthy, Ranjan 20 May 2005 (has links)
"Brownfields" are real estate property with subsurface or surface contamination. The redevelopment of Brownfields is required to clean, improve and protect the environment. Piles foundations are often used in Brownfields to support structures. Regulators are concerned about the environmental safety of pile foundations in Brownfields sites. Piling in Brownfields may lead to transport of contaminants from the contaminated region to the underground aquifers. The purpose of this investigation is to determine the potential for contaminant transport due to pile foundation in Brownfields. This investigation is an extension of previous research conducted at the University of New Orleans and ascertains the potential for contaminant transport from concrete piles of different shape, depth of penetration and method of installation. The results of large scale model tests and Finite Element studies are presented. The investigation indicates the possibility of contamination only in selected cases of piles.

Regenerace brownfieldů v České republice v programovém období 2007 - 2013 / Brownfield Regeneration in the Czech Republic in the 2007-2013ZAJÍČKOVÁ, Tereza January 2019 (has links)
In the Czech Republic, but elsewhere in the world, there are areas, buildings or complexes that have lost their previous use and have been dilapidated or used little. This diploma thesis aims to map out how big brownfield problems are in individual regions of the Czech Republic and whether the regions themselves help to solve this unsatisfactory situation. The partial objective was to evaluate the use of available financial resources provided by the European Union in the 2007-2013 programming period for projects related to brownfield regeneration in the Czech Republic.
