O uso de ferramentas da comunicação interna : estudo de caso no Banpará / The use of internal communication tools: a case study in BanparaWilma Leila Matos Soares 05 May 2010 (has links)
The study aimed to identify the use of internal communication tools in Banpara, regional banking institution, operating in the State of Para, more precisely in the context of support to local development. Contemporaneously, the communication is considered a strategic factor for an organization, since through it, good information flows are necessary for the alignment of goals and strategies of a company. This process affects mainly employees often treated as homogeneous, although they belong to different segments, where noise may occur in the processes of internal communication. Methodologically, was used to survey the literature, theories of communication available and the technical resources involved in communication. The application of case study indicated that employees access the tools of internal communication and through those get enough information to develop their activities at work, and the predominance of the use of intranet and a communication flow predominantly downward vertical. We conclude that the greater the degree of robustness of the information given and the possibility of employees participation, the better their understanding in relation to the goals of the institution. It is strategic, that companies pay attention to the dynamics of intense use of communication through technology, not fully replace the practice of interpersonal relationships, such as classroom practices, with the holding of meetings, face to face communication. Given the importance of employees as social actors who depend on them the understanding of organizational strategies to achieve results with clients. Institutions make use of internal communication tools available in all styles, lined the conjecture and organizational culture, and its level of technological evolution, - that is, mixed between traditional tools, and conventional technology.

Competencies as a predictor of work performance for branch managers in a banking institutionPema-Mistry, Deepa January 1900 (has links)
An essential blend between competencies, personality and skill is sought after for successful branch managers in today’s banking world in order to achieve a high level of quality, on-time delivery, as well as customer and employee satisfaction and loyalty. In this study the predictive relationship between competencies (as a portrayal of personality and abilities) and work performance was investigated among the branch managers.
The scores on the essential Universal Competency Framework competencies, the Person- Job Match and performance data for three years were used to conduct correlation and regression analyses. The study was conducted among 95 branch managers at a banking institution in South Africa.
A theoretical relationship was determined, and this was supported by the significant relationship that was evident between the identified essential competencies of the branch managers and their work performance. The regression model summary indicated significance when using all essential competencies combined against the overall criterion score. / Industrial & Organisational Psychology / M.A. (Industrial and Organisational Psychology)

The thesis is intended to demonstrate the existence of a principle of solidarity in the European Banking Union (EBU). This work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter aims to retraces which are the various nuances that characterize the semantics of the word ‘solidarity’. The second chapter is devoted to the assessment of the provisions of the Treaties which refer to the concept of solidarity. The third chapter analyses how it is declined the principle of solidarity in the EBU, which has introduced innovative methods to manage the resolution of the banks in distress. In conclusion, the thesis tries to prove that also in this renewed EU legal framework, the ‘rule’ continues to be the non-solidarity; by contrast, the ‘exception’ continues to be the solidarity as confirmed by the new tools, which could be activated by the competent authority only in presence of serious difficulties in the banking sector.

Emotional intelligence and leadership in a South African financial services institutionDu Toit, Alison Jane 06 1900 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between
emotional intelligence and leadership among senior leaders in a South African financial services
organisation. The sample consisted of 973 participants. A convenience sample was used, as the
leaders were part of a strategic organisational initiative and completed measurement instruments as
part of this process. All participants completed the Bar-On EQ-i, in order to measure emotional
intelligence, whereas the leadership data were obtained from an organisation-specific multi-rater
which accessed self-ratings, peer and subordinate ratings as well as manager ratings in
terms of leadership behaviours linked to organisational worldviews of leadership effectiveness. The
results show that there was a statistically significant relationship between emotional intelligence
and leadership among the leaders, but that there was poor predictive strength between these
variables. / Industrial & Organisational Psychology / MCom (Industrial and Organisational Psychology)

Ratting de InstituiÃÃes BancÃrias: desenvolvimento de um modelo fundamentado em Ãndices financeiros e matrizes de migraÃÃo / Ratting of banks: the development of a model based on financial ratios and migration matricesElzio Nunes de Mattos Filho 07 February 2011 (has links)
This research aims to develop a risk model for banks, based on financial indices, with the application of concepts of migration matrices ratings. For this, public accounting
data are used these entities that receive the monitoring of monetary authorities, due to the systemic risk that may represent, and rating migration matrices, which have
become very useful in the modern theory of risk management. Thus, in a theoretical and experimental, a model was created with the use of migration matrices, constructed from risk scores based on financial indices. We used half-yearly and
annual financial statements of 79 banks in the period 2001 to 2009. It was found that the matrix of migration that were closest to the rating matrices were those with smaller numbers of classes of risk and greater intervals. Regarding the indexes of the model equation, it was found that the leverage ratio and capital / depositors were
those with higher weightings. When notes were compared with the estimated scores of agencies Fitch and Austin, we found low numbers of equal notes, but in significant amounts when the notes considered equal and the only one that differed in level of risk.
