Abstract: This research is part of the UNICAMP Graduation Program in Arts, and is enrolled at the Art and Society Research Orientation. It is a descriptive, hypothetical inductive study based on primary and secondary sources In this study, which examines the Black Theatre of the Teatro Experimental do Negro [Experimental Black Theatre] and at the Bando de Teatro Olodum [Olodum Theatre Group], we analyse the black theatre apart from its racial particularities. We understand the Black Theatre as the theatre whose fundamental objective is to state the'black identity using African aesthetic references, based on existential and political-ideological black issues. Our hypothesis is that the black theatre, in the way it is organized, presents to the Brazilian theatre an an unusual point view regarding the practice and the aesthetic of the theatre, such as the expressions of the actor's body and voice, which are based on Afro-Brazilian culture and approach. Considering the experiences of these groups (Teatro Experimental do Negro and Bando de Teatro Olodum), we will try to find the particularities of the black theatre and the proposals it brings to Brazilian theatre. / Doutorado / Artes / Doutor em Artes

Les théâtres afro-caribéens d'expression française au XXème siècle face à la Révolution de Saint-Domingue : dramaturgies révolutionnaires et enjeux populaires / French-speaking afro-caribbean theater during XXth century facing the revolution in Santo Domingo : revolutionary dramaturgy and popular issues

Arthéron, Axel 09 December 2014 (has links)
The appearance in the 50’ of afro-Caribbean’s pieces setting up the Dominican Revolution proves to be symbolic. Announced by the creation of La Tragedie du Roi Christophe from Aimé Césaire by Jean-Marie Serreau and the Toucan Troupe, these theatricals expressions will go towards defining a proper theatrical type- possessing his own characteristics, his writing codes, his connection with history and historical characters, and above all, his purpose, his finality : his political and popular function. The articulation between the choice of theater, the political theme of the Dominican Revolution and the stakes of the second half of the 20th Century will constitute the insignia of the historical revolutionary theater, both political and popular.

[en] ABOU, BRUNO AND THE WOMAN OF THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA: REFLECTIONS ON THREE CHARACTERS OF CONTEMPORARY BLACK THEATER / [pt] ABOU, BRUNO E A MULHER DO FUNDO DO MAR: REFLEXÕES SOBRE TRÊS PERSONAGENS DO TEATRO NEGRO CONTEMPORÂNEO

MARIANE DE JESUS OLIVEIRA 25 October 2022 (has links)
[en] The research analyzes three characters from dramaturgical texts published in Dramaturgia Negra (2018), the first anthology of black Brazilian theatrical texts. Abou, character in the text When I die I will tell God everything; Bruno, character of Will it rain? and The Woman of the Bottom of the Sea, a character in Antimemories of an interrupted crossing. The analysis seeks to value artistic productions that are dedicated to developing black characters from counterhegemonic references, giving them relief and complexity that displace them from the old black racial images constructed from stereotypes and the imaginary produced within the hegemonic discourse of whiteness.
