Staniewska, Irja January 2010 (has links)
In an increasingly globalized world where the supply of products increases, it is difficult to create a strong and sustainable brand in the market. Since there are currently few tools and concepts in the field of internal brand building I have chosen to study how the brand can be strengthened from the inside out. In the study, I have looked into the concept of Brand citizenship behavior, an area that is relatively new and is based on the employee's impact on the brand. An explorative case study was used to examine the stories reproduced in substance. This by interviewing seven employees at the company Saltå kvarn. The empirical material is analyzed from theories about Brand citizenship behavior, Organizational citizenship behavior and organizational theories. Based on existing theories and the study's analysis, I have developed a model that can be used by executive senior management and CEO’s. This can be used as a tool to promote Brand citizenship behavior in the workplace and encourage employees to further personal involvement, which affects the company, brand and organization. The study contributes to a better understanding about the subject and it shows on the employee's impact on the brand, something that can strengthen the whole company from the inside and out.

Strong Employer Brands and Employee Advocacy in Social Media : exploring the Employee Perspective

Stenman, Erika January 2019 (has links)
Employer Branding activities in the competitive labour market are becoming increasingly interactive rather than being a top-down exercise. Limited resources together with new technology is playing a role in this development. Little, but some research exists on Employee Advocacy or the voluntary promotion and defence of a brand by its employees. While some researchers suggest that strong Employer Brands fosters Employee Advocacy, there seem to be little empirical support or comprehensive models incorporating the supportive factors. Earlier studies have been primarily quantitative in nature, focusing on the corporate perspective. This research adds a qualitative angle with focus on the Employee Perspective. The purpose with this thesis is to explore how employees in companies with strong Employer Brands practice Employee Advocacy in a Social Media context, Because of the subjectivist and abductive approach, the method was qualitative in form of interviews with employees of different companies in the service sector as primary data together with secondary data. The findings indicate that Employee Advocacy, although largely driven by employee commitment, in practice seem to be a rather temporary phenomenon. The dominating intrinsic motives for Employee Advocacy does not seem to translate in a Social Media Context, where nature of expression ultimately seem to depend more on external or situational factors. The limitations of this study are the small number of respondents made up of a convenience sample. The narrow theoretical base also limits the study to explore and broaden a phenomenon rather than developing an entirely new concept. The conceptual model could act as a basis for other studies with a combined qualitative/quantitative approach or as a basis for discussion in companies formulating their Employer Branding or Social Media strategies. The original value of the conducted study is a comprehensive model of shapers and some new empirical insights regarding complexities of the Employee Advocacy phenomenon.

Brand Identity Management inom snabbmatsindustrin : En kvalitativ fallstudie på Bastard Burgers

Lindmark, Fredrika, Hedström, Julia January 2021 (has links)
Companies today are faced with competitive markets where a large number of similar products and services are offered, which leads to companies with strong brands gaining competitive advantage, as brands facilitate consumers rational decision-making. Previous studies explore the importance of a well-established brand and how to build a strong brand identity through brand identity management (BIM). The studies explain that BIM builds the foundation for wellbeing in the workplace, which in turn is reflected to the customer. Previous studies are aimed at different industries and the purpose of this study is to analyze the importance of a strong brand identity in the fast food industry to contribute more knowledge in that specific industry. The study is deductive with a qualitative approach and thus a qualitative case study has been conducted of Bastard Burgers to answer the research questions, in order to analyze how a company in the fast food industry works with BIM to deliver the brand promise and what result this has on the employees. The results show that brand identity is a crucial factor for companies in today's fast food industry as well as the quality of the food and service. To have a strong brand identity, you need a brand with a personality that is evident through the visuals such as the restaurant's appearance, clothes and logos. The results of the study show that working with BIM strengthens employees' identification with the organization. This in turn results in the employees being more likely to spread positive word-of-mouth, being satisfied with their job and are willing to do the little extra in the workplace.

The ability to unite under one brand : Internal brand building on Nordiska Kompaniet

Grönvall, Karin, Talavera, Nicole January 2014 (has links)
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to examine how a company with a single brand is perceived as uniform, as well as how they use internal brand building to reconcile various competing actors within one brand. Furthermore the aim is to examine how staff, through internal brand building processes, perceives and identifies themself with the values of the common brand. Method: A case study with method triangulation was conducted at Nordiska Kompaniet department store in Stockholm. Quantitative data through a questionnaire survey with employees combined with two observations. Qualitative data was given through an email interview with a responsible manager of digital channels and PR from NK AB. Theories: This study has used the following theories; Destination marketing, Corporate brand, internal branding, corporate identity, corporate culture, brand value, service brand values, brand citizenship behaviour. Conclusion: This case study of NK has shown that internal branding building in a department store is a comprehensive work, which all involved must have a unified perception and understanding of the brand, in order to successful unite under one brand. Internal brand building is done primarily to employees through various recurrent trainings and meetings, with the purpose to create behaviour consistent with the brand values. However, there is a lack of communication since staff did not correctly perceive and understand the actual brand values. This results in that staff identify with incorrect values, which means that they have a brand citizenship behaviour that is not consistent with the brand values.
