Asociación entre disfuncionalidad familiar y el síndrome de sobrecarga del cuidador en cuidadores informales familiares de pacientes pediátricos con cáncer en el Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas en el periodo 2018 - 2019 / Association between family dysfunctionality and the caregiver's burnout syndrome in informal caregivers of pediatric patients with cancer in the Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplasicas during 2018 - 2019

Objetivo: Determinar la asociación entre el Síndrome del Cuidador en cuidadores informales de pacientes pediátricos con cáncer y Funcionalidad Familiar en el Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN) 2018-2019 Métodos: Estudio observacional transversal y analítico. Los cuidadores fueron seleccionados por características del paciente pediátrico y los datos de cuidadores en base a cuestionarios y escalas validadas. Resultados: Se entrevistaron a 204 cuidadores en el INEN durante el período 2018-2019, donde el perfil más común fue: mujer (75.0%) de 35 años, nacida fuera de Lima en el 56.86%, madre del niño en 72.06% de los casos de una familia nuclear (57.43%). El perfil del paciente fue varón en 62.75% con una edad promedio de 8 años y con un tiempo de diagnóstico de 14.5 semanas siendo la patología principal Leucemia Linfática Aguda (51.96%). Se encontró presencia de sobrecarga, disfuncionalidad familiar, depresión y ansiedad, en el 66.67%, 67.16%, 72.06% y 73.53% de los cuidadores, respectivamente. Finalmente, se encontró asociación estadísticamente significativa en las variables de Disfunción familiar (DF) y el síndrome de sobrecarga del cuidador (SSC) ajustadas por sexo, edad y estado civil del cuidador, modo de asumir el cargo, depresión y servicio donde se encontraba el paciente. Se encontró un 35% mayor probabilidad de desarrollar SSC (IC 95%: 1.03-1.77) para disfunción leve; 43% para moderada (IC 95%: 1.09-1.87) y 70% para severa (IC 95%: 1.15-2.12); y 40% para depresión (IC 95%: 1.03-1.91)., Conclusiones: Se encontró asociación entre los cuidadores con disfuncionalidad familiar y síndrome de Sobrecarga del cuidador y que la disfuncionalidad familiar aumenta la probabilidad de presentar el SSC en sus distintos niveles. / Objective: Stablish the association between The Informal Caregiver Burnout Syndrome of pediatric patients with cancer and family dysfunction in Instituto Nacional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas (INEN) periods 2018-2019 Methods: Observational analytic study. Caregivers were selected by the pediatric patient characteristics and the caregivers’ data were based in questionnaires and validated scales. Results: 204 caregivers were intervened in the INEN during the period 2018-2019, where the caregiver profile was woman (75.0%) 34.93 years old, from outside the capital in 56.86%, and mother of the patient in 72.06% of the cases and from nuclear family (57.43%). The 61.27% assumed this role by their own initiative. About the patient profile we found boy in 62.75% and with mean 8 years old and with diagnostic time of 14.5 weeks with Acute lymphatic Leukemia as main pathology (51.96%) mainly from hospitalization service in 55.88%. We found the presence of the Burnout syndrome, family dysfunctionality (FD), depression and anxiety in the 66.67%, 67.16%, 72.06% y 73.53% respectively. Finally, statistically significance association was found between the variables of Family dysfunction and caregivers’ burnout syndrome, adjusted to patient’s service of origin, caregiver’s sex, age, and marital status, how the caregiver charge was assumed and depressive symptoms.. It was found a 35% more probability of of presenting the Caregiver Burnout Syndrome (IC 95%: 1.03-1.77) for mild family disfunction; 43% per moderate (IC 95%: 1.09-1.87) and 70% for severe (IC 95%: 1.15-2.12) and also 40% for depression (IC 95%: 1.03-1.91). Conclusions: We found association between caregivers with family dysfunctionality and the Caregiver Burnout Syndrome, FD increases the probability of having the burnout syndrome in its different levels. / Tesis

The main essence of this Master's thesis is to examine students of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Economics, Prague and then determine whether students are at risk of burnout or already suffering from it. The theoretical part deals with the explanation of the terms - particularly burnout syndrome, its risk factors, symptoms and stages. Then there is the section dedicated to the prevention and treatment of burnout syndrome. Also noteworthy is the comparison of relations between burnout syndrome and stress, depression, and time management. The next chapter is about the characteristics of people who may be at risk of burnout, and a description of professions, which are most affected by burnout. The end of this part is about the University of Economics, Prague, the Faculty of Business Administration and its students. The theoretical part is followed by the practical part, which is based on questionnaire survey, which shows whether students of the Faculty of Business Administration (FBA) at the University of Economics, Prague are at risk of burnout syndrome or already suffering from it. After evaluation of the questionnaires and evaluate hypotheses at the end of the work a few recommendations for students.

Patienters upplevelser av utmattningssyndrom : En litteraturstudie

Sammanfattning Bakgrund: Om en människa länge utsätts för långvarig stress utan tid för återhämtning kan utmattningssyndrom utvecklas. Diagnosen utmattningssyndrom är en relativt ny diagnos i Sverige, diagnosen accepterades formellt år 2005. Syfte: Med denna litteraturstudie avses att belysa utmattningssyndrom från patientens perspektiv. Metod: En litteraturstudie genomfördes och sökningar med noga utvalda sökord utfördes i databaserna Cinahl, PubMed, och PsycInfo. Sökningarna i denna litteraturstudie resulterade i att tio resultatartiklar inkluderades, genom innehållsanalys strukturerades och analyserades resultatartiklarna. Resultat: Resultaten presenteras under fem teman: Att släppa taget, insikt balans och självbild, upplevelser av varningssignaler och symtom, stöd och support samt tillfrisknande. Resultatet av litteraturstudien lyfter fram vikten av patienters upplevelse att komma till insikt om orsaken till varför de drabbats av utmattningssyndrom, inte förrän då kunde patienterna påbörja sin resa mot tillfrisknande. Tydligt var även att patienterna genom att arbeta med sitt beteendemönster fick sin självkänsla och självrespekt tillbaka. Genom att lära sig strategier för att hantera stress lärde sig patienterna att känna igen kroppens signaler. Vidare forskning om patienters upplevelser är av vikt då effekter av rehabiliteringsmetoder för utmattningssyndrom är bristfällig. / Abstract If you are exposed during a certain period of time to prolonged stress without time to recover, you may develop exhaustion disorder. The diagnosis of exhaustion disorder is a relatively new diagnosis in Sweden; the diagnosis was formally accepted in year 2005. Aim: This study referred to lighten exhaustion disorder from the patient's perspective. Method:  A literature review was performed; the search was made by using selected keywords and were conducted in the databases Cinahl, PubMed and PsycInfo. The searches in this study included ten articles. Through content analysis the articles was structured and analysed. Results: Results are presented under five topics: Letting go, insight balance and self-image, perceptions of the warning signs and symptoms, assistance and support and recovery. The results of the literature study highlights the importance of patients' experience to come to the knowledge of the reason why they suffered exhaustion disorder, not until then could they begin their journey towards recovery. Evidence shows that patients working with their behavior patterns had their self-esteem and self-respect back. By learning strategies to manage stress patients learned to recognize the body's signals. Further research of patients’ experiences is important when the effects of rehabilitation methods for exhaustion disorders is deficient.

Lietuvoje trūksta tyrimų, kurie nagrinėtų socialinio darbo kontekstus, kuriuose formuojasi socialinių darbuotojų profesinio perdegimo prielaidos ir tyrimų, kurie nustatytų socialinių darbuotojų naudojamas profesinio perdegimo įveikos strategijas, kurių pagalba darbuotojai sėkmingai įveikia profesinį perdegimą. / The burnout syndrome is most distinctly observed among social workers. This syndrome causes fatigue, lethargy, mental and emotional exhaustion, frustration, conflicts with clients and colleagues. There is lack of studies and research in Lithuania about social work burnout syndrome and the contexts in which we could find new coping strategies.

BACKGROUND: This study focuses on a very sensitive and underestimated topic of drug addiction among medical staff. There is necessary interdisciplinary approach, focusing on psychosocial and environmental factors involved in the etiology of addiction among medical staff. The profession of paramedical staff demands to work with people and responsibility for their lives, so it is important that this work must be performed by a person in mental and physical well-being for performing adequate quality of care. Despite the awareness and exploration of burnout syndrome, the occurrence is still a current issue. Manifested mainly as a reaction to the working stress (Kebza, Šolcová, 2004). This working stress may penetrate also into the overall quality of life (Křivohlavý, 2013). Frequent helper in the stages of burnout syndrome is drinking alcohol, which shows the effects of antidepressants, which can be progress to alcoholism in certain situations (Ühlinger, 2009). The thesis deals with the concept of stress and emotional intelligence. First, it discusses the major theories of stress, coping strategies and resilience. Furthermore, they are presented and described in more detail methods for identifying coping strategies. The next chapter describes the burnout syndrome and its causes. Chapter emotional intelligence deals with theoretical inputs of these issues and, as with stress are also presented in this chapter methods of detecting emotional intelligence. The last chapter focuses on the personality of the prison warden and qualification requirements for the profession. The empirical part deals with the research of emotional intelligence and coping strategies among prison guards. Subsequently outputs are evaluated quantitatively processed results of these two variables and the correlation between them.

Nine participants were men and nine were women. Two members of eight different specializations and two general practitioners constituted the sample. Data were collected in semi-structured interviews that were recorded and afterwards transcribed verbatim for analysis. The chosen method was Grounded Theory, consisting of a systematic inductive process of analysis, organization, categorization and progressive reduction of the categories in order to elaborate a theory that explains the data. The theory emerging from the data suggests that the sources of stress that affect these professionals are innumerous. Some are common to all specializations, but others are specific. The sources of stress that are most strongly present in the accounts concerned the relationship with patients, financial questions, long hours of confinement in a closed environment, the professional responsibilities, the elevated load of working hours and the present-day status of the profession. The effects of exposure to the sources of stress on the job are manifest in various ways, but the most strongly represented concerned physical complaints like pains and muscular-skeletal problems. While a great diversity of sources of stress was identified, the coping strategies were limited to few dimensions. Among these strategies, the most frequently reported was physical exercise, followed only at a large distance by others like: developing other interests besides dentistry, taking holidays and religious involvement. / Foi realizado um estudo qualitativo e de caráter exploratório com 18 cirurgiões-dentistas domiciliados na cidade de Goiânia, com o objetivo de conhecer melhor, na visão destes profissionais pesquisados, a realidade do estresse ocupacional. O grupo estudado foi composto por 9 profissionais do sexo masculino e 9 do sexo feminino, sendo que foram coletados dados de oito especialidades diferentes além da clinica geral. Para coleta de dados foram realizadas entrevistas semi-estruturadas, que foram gravadas e posteriormente transcritas para efeito de análise. A abordagem utilizada para análise dos dados, foi a “Grounded Theory” ou Teoria Fundamentada nos Dados que consiste num processo indutivo sistemático de análise, organização, categorização e redução progressiva de categorias afim de elaborar uma teoria que explique o contexto. A teoria emergente dos dados demonstrou que são inúmeras as fontes de estresse que afetam estes profissionais, alguns estressores são comuns em todas as especialidades, mas existem estressores específicos de cada especialidade. As fontes de estresse mais fortemente relatadas foram relativas à relação com pacientes, questões financeiras, o fato de estar sempre confinado em um ambiente fechado, as responsabilidades que pesam sobre o profissional, a elevada carga horária e a situação atual da profissão. As conseqüências do estresse no trabalho manifestam-se de várias formas embora a que parece mais evidente para os cirurgiões-dentistas seja relativa aos males físicos como dores e outros problemas músculo-esquéleticos. Enquanto havia grande diversidade de fontes de estresse, as estratégias de manejo eram limitadas a poucas dimensões. Dentre estas estratégias podemos citar como a mais relatada, a atividade física, seguida de por outras como: desenvolver outros interesses além da odontologia, tirar férias, religiosidade dentre outras.

O docente universitário em Enfermagem e a Síndrome de Burnout: uma questão de educação para a saúde / Nursing university faculty and the Burnout Syndrome: a health education issue

Sabendo das complexas cobranças que assolam os docentes universitários, tendo em vista as exigências do cumprimento de tarefas relacionadas ao ensino, pesquisa, extensão/assistência, bem como atividades administrativas, isto acaba levando o professorado ao adoecimento em função de suas excessivas atribuições. Objetivos: 1) Levantar com os docentes de uma faculdade de enfermagem estadual, o significado que eles atribuem à sua profissão, relacionando os elementos facilitadores e dificultadores da sua atuação profissional, considerando a sua visão da enfermagem: tradicional, atual e do futuro; 2) Destacar suas atividades ocupacionais e de lazer realizadas no seu tempo livre, identificando-as como meio de promoção da sua saúde física e mental; 3) Verificar no projeto político-pedagógico da sua escola, como ocorreu a sua inserção, identificando os desafios do currículo novo, averiguando o significado da Síndrome de Burnout e propondo sugestões para leituras sobre essa síndrome, enquanto programa educativo. Metodologia: Realizou-se uma pesquisa qualitativa, mediatizada pela pesquisa-ação. Nesse estudo exploratório, utilizou-se de questionário (dados pessoais e de formação, além da visão dos docentes de enfermagem sobre o tema central). Pesquisamos 13 docentes, de ambos os sexos, dos três departamentos existentes na instituição, que aceitaram participar da pesquisa, após assinatura do termo de consentimento, e aprovação do comitê de ética. A coleta foi realizada por correspondência, na casela do professor, alocado em seu próprio departamento, devolvendo-o em tempo pré-determinado. Usou também a observação participante para registro de dados do local. Resultados: Ca amostra constituiu-se de 13 docentes do curso de graduação, maioria mulher, casada e católica, com mais de 40 anos e com filhos; todos com título de doutor atuando, na graduação pós-graduação. Em relação à escolha da profissão, a maioria respondeu por vocação e afinidade. Sobre a carreira, a maioria a percebe como importante, porém exigente, desgastante e estressora, trazendo satisfação profissional, como: honrarias, ascensão, orientação de aluno. Mas traz insatisfação como: excesso de trabalho, de reuniões, de responsabilidades, além de estresse. Dá significado à profissão de amorosidade, troca, diálogo, etc. Seu papel é de facilitador, mediador, humanizador, problematizador e transformador. Como pesquisador, valoriza a construção do conhecimento e o desenvolvimento de pesquisa. E na extensão, se vê como parceiro e articulador no tripé da universidade pública. Relativa à profissão tradicional, a vê como tecnicista, fragmentada, biologicista e desvalorizada. Atualmente, a vê crescendo, internacionalizando e construindo o próprio conhecimento. Para o futuro vislumbra reconhecimento, valorização, otimismo e humanização. Sobre aspectos favoráveis da docência estão o relacionamento interpessoal, ensino, pesquisa e extensão. E os desfavoráveis estão: excesso de atividades, questão anti-éticas e poucos investimentos. Sua inserção no currículo novo é ambivalente, mas com relação de horizontalidade. Traz na saúde mental comprometimento, que caracteriza a Síndrome de Burnout. Conclusão: Portanto, os pesquisados se vêem vocacionados, ambivalentes, trazendo elementos dificultadores e facilitadores à profissão docente, afirmando gostar da profissão, entendendo-a como provocadora de excesso de trabalho, estresse e cansaço. Mas buscam lazer e terapia para alivio das tensões. Reconhecem sinais que caracterizam a Síndrome de Burnout, sem saber que isso retrata essa nomenclatura. Avaliam que o texto apresentado foi interessante, destacando a sua importância para o seu esclarecimento/orientação, como ação educativa. / The complex demands directed to the university faculty in terms of the exigencies of accomplishing teaching, research, and extension/assistance tasks, as well as administrative activities eventually make the professional fall ill due to excessive attributions. Objectives: 1) Survey the faculty of a state nursing college about the meaning they assign to their profession, relating to aspects that make their work easier or more difficult, considering their traditional, current and future nursing perspectives; 2) Highlight their occupational and free-time leisure activities, identifying them as a means for promoting their physical and mental health; 3) Verifying how they were inserted in their colleges political-educational project, and identify the challenges of the new curriculum, verifying the meaning of Burnout Syndrome and proposing reading suggestions about it, as an educational program. Methodology: a qualitative research was performed by means of action research. A questionnaire was used (personal and educational data, I n addition to the nursing facultys view regarding the main issue) in this exploratory study. Thirteen faculty members were interviewed. They were men and women from three departments of the institution, who agreed to participate in the study and provided written consent. The study was approved by the ethics committee. Data collection was performed by correspondence sent to the faculty by their personal mail box located in their department, and the questionnaire was returned within a pre-established time. Participant observation was also used to record the data of the location. Results: the sample consisted of 13 faculty members of the undergraduate program, most were women, married, and catholic, aged over 40 years and with children.; all participants held a Ph.D. and worked with the undergraduate or graduate program. In terms of their choice of the profession, most answered it was based on vocation and affinity. Regarding their career, most perceive it as important, but demanding, wearing and stressing. It provides professional fulfillment, like honors, professional growth, and advising students, but also dissatisfaction, such as excessive work, meetings, responsibilities, and stress. It assigns meaning to the profession of lovability, exchange, dialogue, etc. Their role is one of a facilitator, mediator, problem-solver, and transformer. As a researcher, they value knowledge construction and research development. In extension they see themselves as a partner and articulator in the public university tripod. As to the tradition profession, they see it as technicist, fragmented, biologicist, and unvalued. Currently, they see it as under development, become international and building its own knowledge. For the future, they foresee acknowledgement, valorization, optimism, and humanization. Favorable aspects of the faculty profession are interpersonal relationship, teaching, research and extension. Unfavorable aspects regard excessive activities, antiethical issues, and few investments. Their insertion in the new curriculum is ambivalent, but with a horizontal relationship. There is a commitment to mental health, which characterizes the Burnout Syndrome, Conclusion: Therefore, the subjects see themselves as having vocation, ambivalent, with aspects that make the faculty profession easier and more difficult, and they state they like their profession and see it as one that causes excessive work load, stress, and tiredness. However, they seek leisure and therapy to relieve their tension. They recognize signs that characterize Burnout Syndrome without knowing it represents this nomenclature. They evaluate the presented text as interesting, highlighting the importance of clarification/instruction as an educational action.

Prevence syndromu vyhoření u pracovníků vybraného domova pro seniory / Prevention of burnout syndrome among selected retirement home workers

Main topic of diploma's thesis is burnout syndrome with emphasis on its prevention. Theoretical part focuses on characteristics of this phenomenon, describes the most common symptoms, causes and diagnostics. It deals with prevention, supervision and possible ways of intervention. It describes retirement home as a social service including its clients and social workers. The aim of research part is to find out how does factors as an education, experience and personal characteristics can influence the burnout syndrome. Research part also aims how work environment and supervision impact on its workers. In this qualitative research is the semi-structured interviews with social workers is used as a key method with emphasis on their opinions and feelings about examined topics. Main method is extended by observation. Research results shows, that education and supervision do not affect burnout significantly. On the other hand the work environment, experience and personal characteristics are shown as a very significant contribution factors to burnout syndrome.
