Cloud BI : Styrkor och svagheter i praktikenPasalic, Orhan January 2018 (has links)

The authorities in Algeria account for SMEs to diversify the economy, which remains an oil rent economy. However, these SMEs are fragile and do not actively participate in the growth and development of the country. Our project is to provide an effective and efficient solution for SMEs. this solution is to innovate through information. Innovation is defined as a way of adapting to environmental change. Certainly the collection of information requires considerable human and financial resources that SMEs do not possess, hence the need for state intervention to make available to these SMEs with the information they need.

With the growing demand for service-oriented applications, the complexity of service change management is increasing. In this context, service providers aim at the minimal impact of changes to its clients. Existing work essentially addresses change decisions from a technical perspective, with versioning techniques and compatibility assessments. However, providers have decisional dilemmas that go beyond the technical aspects, addressing the business impact in terms of clients affected, revenues, costs, SLA penalties, among others. This work integrates a framework addressing the service evolution analysis based on service usage perspective. We propose the use of Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing techniques to support business-oriented decisions on the service life-cycle management. Our approach covers service portfolios and the deep change context, i.e. services consumed in large scale and direct/indirect clients. This work is centered on the identification and analysis of decisional requirements and financial and usage indicators related to the service provision business. A data warehouse is modeled to provide a unified and integrated view of these indicators, according to different analysis perspectives. An architecture to extract, transform and loading data also is presented, proposing alternatives to lead with the integration and the heterogeneity of the data sources. Through a case study inspired by a real world scenario, we demonstrate how change impact is analyzed according our approach.

A study of knowledge management strategies as enabled by the support of asynchronous groupware systemsCampbell, Harold Moody 30 October 2004 (has links)
Knowledge Management (KM) and Business Intelligence (BI) are topics, which are receiving
much currency in the literature of academia and the general media over the past several years.
This thesis explores KM from the perspective of the acquisition of business intelligence inside
and outside the organisation.
We do this by undertaking an extensive survey of the literature in the field. This thesis provides
an overview of the major concepts, approaches, and issues as well as some experiences and trends
of KM, covering both organisational and technological aspects.
Firstly, chapter 2 discusses various definitions of knowledge and KM as well as related terms
like tacit knowledge and intellectual capital, from a philosophical, a technological and a business
point of view.
Secondly, chapter 3, describes the major components of KM, from a process perspective, a func-
tional perspective and a technological perspective. Important processes include the setting of
appropriate goals; the creation, discovery, acquisition and capture of knowledge. The chapter
also describes the storage of that knowledge in knowledge repositories, the classification, re-
trieval, filtering and refinement of knowledge; the transfer and use of that knowledge. Finally,
the chapter ends with how organisations may undertake the assessment, conservation and main-
tenance of knowledge, and states that groupware, document management systems, intelligent
agents, knowledge maps and expertise profiling are examples of technologies used in KM.
iii
The thesis then looks at the role of asynchronous groupware in enabling and harnessing the
benefits of KM. Here, the research discusses how Information Technology (IT), and specifically,
synchronous and asynchronous groupware, may be integrated with KM in a drive towards cre-
ating BI. Chapter 4 also studies the term `business intelligence', with specific relevance to the
identification of business opportunities, and the application of the concepts of intellectual capital
(IC).
Chapter 5 outlines the research methodology, which includes two surveys on KM awareness and
KM practices in order to gauge the level of implementation and application of KM for adding
value to organisations. The research methodology also employs a case study to validate the
implementation of an aspect of KM collaboration and knowledge sharing.
The findings from the surveys give testament to the level of awareness and implementation of
KM in best practice organisations. Chapter 7 then presents the approaches to measuring IC,
and BI used by firms employing knowledge management practices to maintain their competitive
advantage. In chapter 8, the researcher analyses how KM presentations and implementation in
organisations may be operationalised.
In chapter 9, the research presents the research model, the KM-BI model, which is the seminal
objective of this thesis. The KM-BI model uses the confirmatory factor analysis procedure, Proc
Calis of SAS Institute, to present a measurement model. In seeking to clarify the argument being
made, a model is confirmed and discussed in terms of the transformation process from KM to
BI and the subsequent competitive advantage.

In a Big Data context, traditional data analysis is becoming more and more tedious. Many approaches have been designed and developed to support analysts in their exploration tasks. However, there is no automatic, unified method for evaluating the quality of support for these different approaches. Current benchmarks focus mainly on the evaluation of systems in terms of temporal, energy or financial performance. In this thesis, we propose a model, based on supervised automatic leaming methods, to evaluate the quality of an OLAP exploration. We use this model to build an evaluation benchmark of exploration support sys.terns, the general principle of which is to allow these systems to generate explorations and then to evaluate them through the explorations they produce.

January 2012 (has links)
Por fim, conclui-se que os principais desafios impostos à organização concentram-se na gestão da cultura organizacional e comportamental, no sentido de gerar um ambiente favorável ao compartilhamento do conhecimento / Abstract: The companies have increasingly entered the practice of knowledge management (KM) into their strategies as a way generate an environment conductive for learning conductive for learning and act as a competitive differentiator. However, in the case of a reatively recent issue, the biggest challenge for organizations in this new era of knowledge, is get a succesfully manage intangible assets. Therefore, become essential actions that add value to the question of what factors act as facilitators in the use of KM practices within an organization, as well as hampering their success. Initially developed in thi thesis a descriptive and exploratory research of issues addressed. In the next step, performed a case study lined with a participant research in a large German automobile company (Continental AG), aiming to analyze the major Critical Success Factors (CSFs) that affect the functioning of the Communities of Practice (CoPs). They are defined as informal groups, which aim to share information, insights, experiences and knowledge about an area of common interest. Within the results collected through a questionnaire applied in the company, an analysis is performed by quantitative, qualitative and a relationships between the responses, which show important dependencies between the factors in the causes of demotivation of employees in the use of communities. Thus, the factors are ranked among facilitators and inhibitors, and ordered on a scale of priority actions for implementation of their improvement. Finally, it is concluded that the major challenges posed to the organization focus on organizational culture and behavior management in order to generate a favorable environment for knowledge sharing / Mestre
