Dostavba objektů určených pro FA a FaVU VUT Brno v areálu Údolní / Completion of the area Údolní 53 for the Faculty of Architecture and Faculty of Fine Arts

Vaňková, Kristýna January 2017 (has links)
The aim of this work is to create arts campus for the Faculty of fine arts and Faculty of Architecture from the complex of buildings of BUT at Údolní street. Current buildings (formerly army barracks houses) don't have sufficient capacity and are not suitable for the arts departments. Inner part of the campus is nowadays without urbanistic concept and is formed of many buildings of differnt purposes. This work deals with the urbanistic solution of the campus, new use of the current buildings and creation of the new buildings, needed for teaching and exhibitions. I am adding annexes to the historical buildings that will be used by artists. There is main entrance and common gallery in the center of those buildings on the busy crossroad. In the inner part of the campus, between buildings of Faculty of Fine Arts and Faculty of Architecture, there will be the gipsoteca and drawing rooms that will be used by both faculties.

Jaroslavice – sídlo v krajině / Jaroslavice – place in the landscape

Dočekalová, Veronika January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to design improvements to increase the quality of the living in the territory of Jaroslavice and its surroundings. This South Moravian rural area located near the Austria–Czech Republic border may currently be considered as a No man's land. Given the subject of the thesis, the author suggests the conceptual solution of this problem. Focusing on the life in a border region analyses offer of the local development, amenities and opportunities, not forgetting about the education. The work suggests an entirely new local education system from the very beginning - from kindergartens to secondary education. The missing high school forces students to travel or to move to nearby towns such as Znojmo. what usually leads to their breakaway from the local environment. This could be avoided by building a new secondary school in Jaroslavice. It would link to the rich history of this village from the pre-war period, when it was considered an important transition point between the cities of Brno and Vienna. Besides, Czech-German school can re-establish mutual cooperation between both countries. Designated school is based on a current education needs, e.g. practical training experiences in local businesses, which is costs saving and immediately applicable. The subject of this thesis is placed into the area of the ruined mansion under the local castle. Besides school, there is also Food Center and Research Institute. All three institutions cooperate together, similarly to the concept of manor court (meierhof) in the past. Educational facilities are arranged in U-shape form with the inner courtyard and the large greenhouse on one side. Each wing of the building is self-sufficient and has a different character. The west wing is two-storey, on the ground floor there is a library with classrooms for social sciences and the heart of the house - room for theatre and performances. On the second floor there is a school headquarters facing the courtyard with the ability to check the daily routine. The central wing with entrance consists of classrooms of natural sciences and another social science classrooms located towards the courtyard for eventual outdoor lessons. Last part consists of computer classrooms made for the technical sciences. This wing leads to the lower floor with side entrance to a parking lot. Greenhouse, designed for both the public and the students, is an inseparable part of the school.

Vodojemy - Brno, Žlutý kopec / Reservoirs - Brno, Zluty kopec (Yellow hill)

Bařina, Štěpán Unknown Date (has links)
This work deals with the elaboration of architectural and urban design of an area surrounding the historic water reservoirs in Brno – Tvrdého Street. The first part contains the urban design on the entire area, after that one specific building is processed in more detail in the form of an architectural study. The new use of the underground reservoirs is also a part of this project. The work is partly a continuation of older atelier work which was focused on an thorough analysis of the are and the possibilities of its development.

Vodojemy - Brno, Žlutý kopec / Reservoirs - Brno, Zluty kopec (Yellow hill)

Navrátil, Zdeněk Unknown Date (has links)
The task was to design a new use for three former underground reservoirs on Žlutý kopec in Brno and its area. The main goal of the pre-diploma project was to define the use of reservoirs, which is reflected in the urban design. Connections, entrances to the area, the use of existing buildings and overall use of the area is part of the urbanism part. The main design itself contains the building of the information and visitor center, which allows access to the oldest and youngest reservoir. The design of the building uses different height levels in the area and connects the street level with the park level.

The But at least construction : A corpus-based study

Hansson, Siri January 2020 (has links)
The purpose of this research paper was to explore if the adverbial phrase but at least (BAL) is a construction and if any constraints could be identified. To be able to determine a classification, the research focused on finding syntactic and semantic patterns, investigating the definition of constructions as being non-predictable and usage-based. The research was a corpus-based study, analyzing 200 tokens that were extracted from the Corpus of Contemporary American English. The tokens were analyzed by coding them by syntactic features, the semantic use of BAL and the semantics of the whole sentence. The result demonstrated that the BAL-phrase is a construction as a syntactic pattern could be determined, the semantic use of BAL indicates that it is usage-based and it incorporates non-compositional meanings. Furthermore, three constraints could be identified.

Söderström, Ellen January 2022 (has links)
But I’m a Cheerleader (1999).

Djerboua, Nadir 24 April 2018 (has links)
Mots clés : valeurs, comportement de citoyenneté organisationnelle, structuration circulaire / This research has two objectives. The first one is to answer calls from Bardi and Schwartz (2003) for more research on the relationship between values and behaviors. To that end, our interest focused on the specific relation between values and organizational citizenship behavior (OCB) in the non-profit sector in Canada. The second objective was to suggest a new circular structure for OCB based on the compatibilities and incompatibilities of Schwartz’s theory of universal values. This conceptualization provides answers to the inconsistencies of previous frameworks for this construct. The theoretical links that emerged from the shared structure between these two constructs resulted into four hypotheses that have been empirically tested using data collected through two instruments: the Portrait Values Questionnaire (PVQ) for values and an OCB hybrid instrument comprised of scales validated by previous research. Sociodemographic data were also collected to contextualize the results. A sample of 727 employees and volunteers from Canadian non-profit organizations completed an online survey that took place between April 16 and June 18, 2015. A combination of multivariate, univariate, multidimensional Smallest Space Analysis (SSA) and regression analyses was used to generate the results. First, a MANOVA was performed to determine if a significant main effect can be observed between values and OCB, while controlling for the employment status of participants. Then, a series of hierarchical regressions was used to test concomitant, proximal and opposing links in the shared circular structure between values and OCB at the axis level. Finally, an SSA analysis was completed to verify that the magnitude and direction of correlations between value types and OCB dimensions correspond to those postulated in Schwartz’s “Circumplex” model. A significant relationship between values domains and their corresponding CCO domains was found, generating a circular shared structured that can be explained by the motivational conflicts and congruities postulated by Schwartz’s theory. Theoretical, methodological and practical implications are discussed and research avenues are suggested. Keywords: Values, Organizational Citizenship Behavior, Circular Structure
