Previous issue date: 2017-12-19 / The present work aims to address a recent Haitian immigration in the State of
Rio Grande do Sul, exploring the significance of the migratory phenomenon for
Haitian women. For this to happen, two studies were carried out, a theoretical article
and an empirical article. In the first article entitled "Feminization of involuntary
migration in Brazil: intersections of gender, race / ethnicity and class", a critical
review of the studies published on the issue of female migration in Brazil was carried
out. The work was analyzed through the intersectional perspective, which includes
different forms of agency and discrimination, from the interaction between different
modes of subordination, such as issues of gender, race / ethnicity, class. From this
study was verified, in spite of increasing the number of research on the subject, few
take into consideration of markers according to the intersectional way. In the second
article entitled "Trajectory of migration of Haitian women in Porto Alegre: a qualitative
study", a panorama is outlined about the feminization of migration, especially Haitian
immigration. In order to make a discussion with the current theory on migrations, the
analyzes of interviews with Haitian women are carried out. Based on these analyzes,
it is sought to understand how the migration trajectory of these women is, what has
been found of similarities and differences with what has been published about
migration of Haitian women. Some issues, such as language, family and work, have
been highlighted and deepened. In their speeches it was observed how being Haitian
is linked to the experience of migration. It has also been seen that their trajectories
are marked by protagonism when deciding to migrate alone to other countries. Even
in the cases of accompanied migration there are passages in which the protagonism
10
of the immigrants is also perceived. As one of the pioneering studies in our context,
the results discussed here provide indications that can be explored in future studies,
which can further investigate the concepts explored here with other migratory groups
in other contexts. Thus, the findings of this research offer a still limited and limited
panorama of the reality of Haitian women in Porto Alegre, but which can serve as a
support for thinking about public policies and interventions aimed at raising the
awareness of the Brazilian population about this emerging issue, possibilities for the
reception and promotion of human rights for the immigrant and refugee population. / A presente disserta??o visa abordar a recente imigra??o haitiana no Estado
do Rio Grande do Sul, explorando o significado do fen?meno migrat?rio para
mulheres haitianas.
A partir destas an?lises
imigrante e refugiada.

Previous issue date: 2018-01-09 / This study was conducted within the Group of Studies in Career Development
of the field of Social Psychology, in the Psychology Faculty of Pontif?cia Universidade
Cat?lica do Rio Grande do Sul. The research?s main objective was to investigate the
female entrepreneurial career in order to understand its motivations under a
contemporary career model: the Kaleidoscopic Career Model. Brazil is among the top
10 countries with the highest rates of entrepreneurship in the world, with almost
equivalent rates between men and women - the difference is less than 2. Although
female entrepreneurship growth has been 16% in the last 10 years compared to male?s
7%, this activity is still strongly associated with male careers. In this context, the
specificities of female entrepreneurship may be overshadowed, just as there is a
difference between the motivations that lead women and men to open their own
businesses. Therefore, the general objective of this research was to verify if there are
differences between men and women regarding their motivations for entrepreneurship,
according to the parameters of the Kaleidoscopic Career, theoretical model developed
based on female career trajectories. To achieve this goal, a narrative review of the
literature on the model was carried out, which analyzed 16 articles available in national
and international scientific databases on the Kaleidoscopic Career Model, and its
relation with female career trajectories. Afterwards, the first empirical study that
composes this dissertation has adapted this instrument to Brazilian context within a
sample of 272 Brazilian professionals. For the validation, confirmatory factorial
analysis has been used, with maximum likelihood estimation method. The final version
of the scale presented 19 items, distributed in the predicted factors, with precision
values of: Balance (?=.78), Challenge (?=.76) and Authenticity (?=.65). Using this
adapted scale, the second empirical study aimed to verify if there is difference between
women?s and men?s motivation for opening their own businesses. In addition to the
Kaleidoscopic Career Parameter Scale adapted to Brazilian context, a
sociodemographic survey and entrepreneurial trajectory and business characteristics
questionnaire were used with the respondents. The sample was composed by 416
professionals, in which 54.6% were women and 48.6% were entrepreneurs. Although
professionals with their own business had significantly higher averages (M = 3.86)
compared to non-entrepreneurs in Challenge parameter [M = 3.53; F (416,1) = 15.15;
p <0.001, ?? = 0,4], there was no significant difference between the parameters
according to respondent?s sex. Corroborating this result, the main reasons for opening
a company - identification of business opportunity, desire for autonomy and work
according to personal values - were the most frequently answers among male and
female entrepreneurs. By contributing to demystify the idea that the motivations for
female entrepreneurship are essentially different from the masculine, we expect results
to contribute for a greater awareness and promotion of female entrepreneurship.
mulheres - a diferen?a ? inferior a 2%. Embora o crescimento do empreendedorismo
ainda ? fortemente associada a carreiras masculinas. Nesse contexto, podem-se
ofuscar especificidades do empreendedorismo feminino, tais como poss?veis
diferen?as entre as motiva??es de mulheres e homens para empreender. Neste
A vers?o final
[M=3,53; F(416,1)=15,15; p<0,001, ?? = 0,4], n?o foi verificada diferen?a significativa
entre os par?metros segundo o sexo. Corroborando este resultado, as principais

Previous issue date: 2018-03-21 / This dissertation aimed to discuss gender issues in prison health professionals? discourse.
These professionals work in a female prison in Rio Grande do Sul state. The specific
objectives were: reflect on institutional aspects related to health attention to imprisoned
women, verify gender aspects in prison and health policies that consider it, question health
education considering gender and sexual diversity. A book chapter to be released with
thoughts on gender and sexual diversity in prison and a presentation of results from 2 studies in the field was the theoretical part of this work. Practical section was developed through a qualitative article with the analysis method of thematic analysis of the theme gender in the participants? speech excerpts in five matrix support meetings. Analyzed data in the article are part of a bigger project developed and executed from 2013 to 2015 by Rio Grande do Sul?s state prison health department in partnership with Instituto de Criminologia de Sevilha, Funda??o Escola Superior do Minist?rio P?blico (FMP), Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) ? Educa Sa?de. FAPERGS (PPSUS) financed this project. In this dissertation, the chosen results were organized in three subthemes from the main theme: pregnancy and babies staying in prison, body norms and health and transgender people social names. The discussion of these results followed theoretical aspects of feminist and queer criminology, gender and sexual diversity and collective health. The article mainly addressed the right to integral health care in prison, specifically to women and LGBT population, and also the issue of pregnancy and babies staying in this institution. Another important topic is the role of health education about these themes in order to reduce prejudice and to qualify health attention.

Previous issue date: 2015-01-16 / The manifestation of sexual behavior in childhood is expected and present in typical child
development. However, disorders involving sexual behavior are often related to cases of sexual abuse. The variable sexual behavior is therefore taken into account in most psychological assessments aimed at diagnosing situations and abusive sexual experiences. For the inclusion of the assessment of these behaviors in an objective and reliable sexual victimization diagnostic procedure, the use of adequate evaluation tools for the child's cultural context is required. This study inquires about the sexual behavior of children between six and twelve years and compares the differences in the frequency and intensity of these behaviors from children of three different groups:
victims of sexual abuse, victims of abuse and with clinical symptoms. The empirical section
investigates the differences in the occurrence of sexual behavior between groups and the influence of social-demographic variables. In order to accomplish this, the translation and adaptation of the
Child Sexual Behavior Inventory (CSBI) (Friedrich, 1997) was held, which served as a tool to
survey the type, intensity and frequency of sexual behaviors in the studied sample. No significant differences were found between the groups in the total score of CSBI. However, the instrument's domain responsible for investigating sexual knowledge inappropriate for the child's age was different between groups, with the group who experienced sexual abuse presenting significantly more behaviors related to that domain. Besides the empirical section, a theoretical study, focused upon academic works that have addressed the issue of sexual behaviors in childhood and its relation to the experience of sexual abuse, was developed. The studies that made up the review were published between the years 2003 and 2013. Eight studies, from five different countries, were selected. Most instruments used in these studies were the CSBI and the CBCL. There were no studies in the national context that addressed the issue of sexual behaviors. Noteworthy is also the small number of works addressing the selected theme.
desenvolvimento infantil t?pico. Todavia, dist?rbios envolvendo condutas sexuais s?o, ami?de,
relacionados ? hip?tese de abusos sexuais. A vari?vel comportamento sexual ?, portanto, levada em
viv?ncias sexualmente abusivas.
realizada a tradu??o e adapta??o do instrumento Child Sexual Behavior Inventory (CSBI), o qual
total do CSBI.
Estados Unidos, Canad?, Inglaterra, Austr?lia e Nova Zel?ndia.

Previous issue date: 2018-01-12 / We aimed this thesis to explore biological mechanisms of childhood
maltreatment exposure in two articles. The first article is an extensive meta-analysis
assessing basal and dynamic levels of cortisol in children and adults who have
experienced early life stress. We found that children during early childhood exhibit
lower basal cortisol levels and lower activation of the HPA axis during stress exposure.
Also, we found a biological ecophenotype within individuals with mental disorder and
history of childhood maltreatment. In the second article we evaluated children and
adolescents in a longitudinal study to assess the impact of early life stress on biomarkers
of cell aging. We found that children exposed to maltreatment presented a greater
number of behavioral problems, a higher rate of psychiatric diagnosis and accelerated
cellular aging compared to children without traumatic exposure. Accelerated cell aging
was identified through Telomere Length, Mitochondrial DNA copy number and ND4,
being the first study with children to report these variables in association with traumatic
experiences.
O primeiro artigo ? uma extensa meta-an?lise
No segundo

Previous issue date: 2018-03-27 / This study aims to understand the works of gender affirmation processes of Brazilian
trans people that share their experiences through videos created and shared on
YouTube. This is a qualitative study that used Netnography as an investigation
method and for the purposes of data analysis. Aiming at understanding and
discussing the specificities of the data collection, postulates from poststructuralism,
Queer Theory, Feminism and Transfeminism were used in this study. The data
collection took place in the virtual field, more specifically on YouTube, during the
second semester of 2017, in which began the writing of the Field Journal, where the
contents of the videos were registered, as well as impressions along the data
collection process, that eventually resulted in the analysis of 29 videos from 8
different subjects. As inclusion criteria for choosing the videos, it was considered
content from Brazilian people as long as they appear on YouTube?s search area when
terms such as trans, transsexual, and transgender were typed; had shared content
within at least 30 days; and identified oneself as trans, transgender, transsexual, trans
man, or trans woman in at least one video. The videos analyzed in this research were
publically shared by trans people, they are of general access to the population, and

demand the elaboration and application of the informed consent, or the approval or
registration in the CEP/CONEP. The video analysis emerged the discussion of the
spectacularization of trans identities and the gender performative affirmation
processes, as well as the deconstruction of trans bodies in the virtual space. We also
noted the emphasis of gender technologies such as surgeries and hormonal therapy in
the videos of Brazilian trans people, thus creating success formats, a YouTube trans
normative with its own segments. The discussion fostered in this study points to
gender performativity on YouTube, to the importance of social media in the trans
population?s representativity and visibility, and to the establishment and reproduction
of singular video formats with trans themes on YouTube Brazil.
v?deos criados e compartilhados no website YouTube.

Previous issue date: 2018-03-08 / Introduction: Obesity is a complex and multifactorial condition that represents a risk factor for several other health problems and reductions in quality of life. The high prevalence and growing incidence of obesity in the world makes it necessary to identify the predisposing factors and effective intervention strategies for its treatment. One of the most important aspects in the treatment of obesity is the promotion of more adaptive eating behaviors and the reduction of problematic eating behaviors. It is currently recognized that emotional regulation is an important element in the etiological equation and maintenance of problematic eating behaviors in obesity and in some eating disorders related to obesity, especially binge eating. Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is a behavioral therapeutic approach whose effectiveness has been demonstrated for a wide range of psychopathological conditions in which difficulties with emotional regulation are present. Although there are already several studies demonstrating DBT's efficacy in the context of eating disorders and obesity, in Brazil,
research with DBT is still scarce and there are no empirical studies to date about its
application to eating disorders. Considering this scenario, two studies were proposed to identify the effectiveness and maintenance of the effects of a group intervention based on the training of TCD Skills for obese people. Goals: To verify the maintenance of effects on problematic and adaptive eating behaviors after a group intervention based on Dialectic Behavioral Therapy for obese people, and to explore relevant aspects of the participants' experience with the intervention. Method: sequential quantitative and qualitative design, using self-report measures and semi-directed interviews. On the quantitative stage, self-report measures of problematic eating behaviors (Binge Eating Scale - BES, Emotional Eating Scale - EES) and adaptive (Mindful Eating Eating Questionnaire - MEQ, Intuitive Eating Scale 2 - IES-2) were used. An intention-to-treat analysis (n = 121) was used with all participants who were assigned for the intervention. Measures were taken at pretest, post-test and 3 and 8 months follow-up. Descriptive analyzes and hierarchical linear modeling were used to verify the effectiveness and stability of the effects of the intervention. In the qualitative phase, semi-directed interviews were conducted with 3 participants who concluded the intervention, focusing on the experience with the intervention, perceived effects, 31 facilitators and difficulties with the participation and implementation of the strategies developed in the treatment. The interviews were analyzed by four researchers, using inductive thematic analysis. Results: There was a significant reduction in problematic
eating behaviors after the intervention, with stable results at the three-month follow-up
and slight return towards baseline at 8-month follow-up. As for adaptive eating
behavior, there was improvement after the intervention, which was maintained at three
months follow-up and tended to return to baseline at 8 months follow-up. Analysis of
the interviews revealed that participants identified improvements in various aspects of
their life after the intervention, especially in interpersonal functioning and in the ability
to regulate their own behavior. They point the identification with other group members
and the presence of a supportive family and social environment as facilitators of
participation in the intervention. Experiences of anxiety and aversive emotions during
the group and difficulty in maintaining skills practice outside the sessions were pointed
out as obstacles to the effectiveness of the intervention. Discussion: Quantitative
results are consistent with other literature findings on DBT interventions in the context
of eating disorders and demonstrate that a brief intervention based on DBT and
adapted to the Brazilian context may be effective in reducing problematic eating
behaviors and promoting more adaptive behaviors in the short and medium term for
obese people, however they are not conclusive as to the maintenance of these
changes for 8 months or longer. Data from the qualitative study replicated in part other
findings in the literature on DBT for people with emotional dysregulation and borderline
personality disorder, stressing the importance that clinicians be attentive to aversive
emotional experiences during the group and provide support as well as identify
opportunities for application of the skills during the group sessions. In addition, the
perception of improvement in interpersonal relationships reflects the importance of the
interpersonal dimension in obesity and binge eating, highlighting the strong relationship between interpersonal aspects and emotional responses to which maladaptive coping strategies such as overeating may follow.

O primeiro artigo investigou as percep??es
