Ett delsyfte är att beskriva vilka specifika aspekter av dessa CSR-perspektiv som påverkar kundernas beteende i störst utsträckning. Metod: Studien utgår från en deduktiv hypotetisk forskningsansats och kvantitativ forskningsmetod. Data har samlats in genom enkäter vilka delats ut på tre olika sparbankskontor. Analys av data sker i programmet SPSS för att kunna undersöka sambandet mellan sparbankernas sociala ansvarstagande och dess inverkan på kundernas beteende. Resultat & slutsats: Resultatet visar att positiv korrelation på en statistiskt säkerställd nivå föreligger mellan samtliga av våra testade CSR-perspektiv och kundernas beteende. Slutsatsen blir därmed att ett positivt samband mellan strategisk filantropi, filantropi samt Corporate Citizenship och kundernas beteende kan bekräftas. Förslag till fortsatt forskning: Studien visar att ett samband mellan sparbankernas sociala ansvarstagande och kundernas beteende föreligger. Vi rekommenderar att fler analyser genomförs som bekräftar att det är sparbankernas sociala ansvarstagande som påverkar kundernas beteende och inte tvärt om vilket kan göras genom en regressionsanalys. Citizenship undermined : messages received through the social assistance system in contemporary Hungary

Very few narratives go as unchallenged about the transition of Central and Eastern European countries from state socialism to market democracies as the following: before the transitions people in these countries had strong social rights but were lacking any civic and political rights, and while the transformations provided the people with firm civil and political citizenship, they lost out on social rights. In my dissertation I argue that this is an oversimplifying and highly distorted narrative that is blind to the deep inequalities in these societies. My research focused on one particular means of reproducing these inequalities, namely welfare institutions, and explored what recipients of social assistance provision learned about their citizenship in the post-transition Hungarian welfare complex. This analysis not only demonstrated an inextricable interrelationship between civil, political and social citizenship, but also allowed for a deeper understanding of the mechanisms through which apparent political inequalities were reproduced in practice. By the innovative method of institutional ethnography I constructed a mosaic of the various component elements of the institutional system of social assistance provision in contemporary Hungary and investigated the influence that each had on recipients' civil and political citizenship. This study indicated a marked discrepancy between recipients' ideal and their lived experiences of citizenship, and found that certain characteristics of the system of social assistance provision played a crucial part in reproducing this discrepancy. The high level of discretion in the system, recipients' lack of information, the treatment they underwent in the welfare office, as well as the lack of institutional guarantees that could ensure that they enjoyed equal and fair treatment in all the welfare offices in the country proved to be the most important characteristics of social assistance provision that had direct or indirect effects on recipients' democratic subjectivity.

In the present work we develop a qualitative research involving 28 teachers, of several disciplines and 4 supervisors, respectively belonging to 4 public schools of Maceió City (AL). The objective of our research consists of analyzing the educative activities perceived by the teachers of Basic Public Education with respect to Environmental Education. We intend to identify and to characterize the interpretations given by them on central concepts appearing in the discussion of the theme such as Environment, Citizenship, Ecological Citizenship or Ecocitizenship and Environmental Education. As a result of our research we observe in these schools a severe lack of interdisciplinary approach and a lack of supervision, including those starting from the official institutions, meanly CREAMB in Maceio City, which are, surprisingly, completely unknown. This is one of the chief reasons by which the habitual practice of environmental education is completely naïve. Consequently, this habitual practice is centered on merely spontaneous insights of insufficiently prepared teachers, which are not accompanied of on firm theoretical basis. In this context the naïve conservationism approach is emphasized instead of a critical discussion involving the complex interrelationships between Nature and Society. The habitual approach of environmental education is reductionist, naïve, and centered merely upon environment conservation, which is an insufficient approach in order to offer a good conception on Eco-citizenship. One important result of our thesis consists of appointing the necessity of providing a critical approach of environmental education theoretically founded on seminal thinkers of all the cultures. / O presente trabalho desenvolve-se a partir de uma pesquisa qualitativa realizada com 28 professores/as, de várias disciplinas, e 4 coordenadoras de 4 escolas públicas do município de Maceió (AL). Tem por objetivo analisar tanto as atividades educativas percebidas pelos docentes do Ensino Público Fundamental, enquanto Educação Ambiental, bem como identificar e caracterizar a interpretação conceitual dada pelos mesmos a termos-chave recorrentes na discussão educacional ambientalista atual, ou seja, Meio Ambiente, Cidadania, Cidadania Ecológica ou Ecocidadania e mesmo Educação Ambiental. Constata-se a falta de participação interdisciplinar e orientadora nas escolas, inclusive por parte dos órgãos que, ao menos em tese, deveriam desenvolver ações de estímulo para a Educação Ambiental Municipal (no caso de Maceió, o CREAMB, completamente desconhecido pela maioria dos professores entrevistados). Esta é uma das razões precípuas pelas quais a presente prática é ingênua. As atividades de Educação Ambiental continuam sendo desenvolvidas de maneira precária nas escolas, dependendo quase sempre de ações isoladas e ocasionais, mesmo que carregadas de boa vontade e interesse dos participantes. Mantêm-se uma Educação Ambiental que valoriza a interpretação conservacionista (centrada na questão da preservação da natureza ), simplista ou reducionista (que não aprofunda as complexas inter-relações políticas, sociais e econômicas relacionadas com a discussão da Educação Ambiental) e/ou que permanece padronizada em visões tradicionalistas, fechadas no arcabouço teórico, de disciplinas específicas (que incluem a ecologia em seu currículo). Tais práticas tem se mostrado, até o momento, insuficientes per si para o exercício de uma educação conscientizadora, voltada para a construção do Cidadão Ecologicamente Participativo. Deste modo, um importante resultado deste trabalho é apontar em prol da necessidade de uma prática conseqüente de Educação Ambiental que não pode dispensar de uma base teórica mínima concebida à luz de pensadores seminais de diversas.

The education of ideal citizens : an ethnographic study of two schools in Hong Kong

Soon after the political handover in 1997, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) government had introduced a series of education and curriculum reforms. Such reforms is said to be proceeded in response to teenagers' lack of national identification towards their motherland China, and also to the public discourse addressing the economic challenges and competition in the universal trend of globalization. Although a few studies had unveiled the underlying values of Confucianism, neo-liberalism and market ideology under these objectives, how the new definitions of "ideal citizens" is understood and promoted in the actual school settings, and how those values influence the process of students' identity construction and their vision on their life trajectories, remains unknown. Drawing on the data from an ethnographic research conducted in 2010, this thesis illustrates how the qualities of an "ideal citizen" propagated in the education and curriculum reform would be understood and transformed in two very different schools in Hong Kong. One is a long-established girls' school located in a middle-class district, which has a reputation of providing "all-rounded" education and nurturing future woman-leaders; the other one is being considered as a "academically-low band" school located in remote area, which struggled to survive and started to admit "Non-Chinese speaking" (NCS) students from Pakistan, Nepal and Philippines three years ago in order to solve the problem of insufficient intake of local students. Apart from the halfyear participant-observation in the two campuses, in-depth interviews of the 2 school principals, 13 teachers, 19 students and 2 alumni of the two schools have also been conducted. Other school documents including official school magazines, school reports as well as students’ publications have also been collected as supporting information. Due to the different historical background, the school management strategy and most of all, the composition of students from very different socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds, the two schools had developed very different ideas and definition of an "ideal citizen", and thus led to different directions of school policies and expectations on students. Through the examples of the provision of the “Other learning Experience” (OLE) and students’ participation patterns in Chapter Five, the different language policies and students’ ability in languages in Chapter Six, and the process of the construction of femininities of young girls in Chapter Seven, this study shows how the problematic of class, gender and ethnics domination still exist under the new context of education reform. This study also reveals that while Hong Kong policy-maker claimed that the education reform ‘bears upon the equity and balance of our society', the socio-economic backgrounds, ethnicity and gender which traditionally being viewed as factors that differentiate education outcomes in sociological studies are completely ignored in the reform.

Sabemos que a educação é um dos pontos fundamentais no crescimento intelectual das pessoas, valorizando os seres humanos em cidadãos conscientes e ativos na sociedade é o que analisei e questionei nesta dissertação bem como entender que é próprio da educação formar pessoas com uma verdadeira participação cidadã. A questão da educação é muito mais ampla do que se pode imaginar. Na escola existem muitas dificuldades em relação à educação, uma das principais é o desinteresse por parte do educando. Os professores têm uma missão muito difícil, que é a de despertar esse interesse, esta vontade de saber, este desejo de mudança. Para construirmos a cidadania precisamos ter claro os fins da escola e da educação, onde estes possibilitam ao educando um crescimento e entendimento cada vez maior do que é ser cidadão, onde ele mesmo possa se libertar das amarras da alienação e perceba que a educação é o principal instrumento para a construção da cidadania, onde todos tenham direito à vida, à saúde, à educação, ao lazer, à liberdade, em fim, à dignidade como seres humanos. A metodologia utilizada para o desenvolvimento do trabalho foi a pesquisa bibliográfica. O trabalho está desenvolvido em três capítulos: o primeiro trata da educação escolar, (problemas e dificuldades da educação e da instituição escola como tal); o segundo capítulo busca conceituar cidadania (e como é possível construí-la); no terceiro capítulo discute-se a relação educação X cidadania e como esta pode contribuir na construção da cidadania. / We know that education is one of the fundamental steps in the intellectual developing of the people, valorizing the human being in conscious and active citizens in the society, and this is what was analyzed and questioned in this dissertation as well as understanding that is the role of education to allow people with a real participation as citizenship. The question of the education is far more comprehensive than it can be thought. At school there are many difficulties related to the education, the students lack of interest is one of the main difficulties. The teachers have a very difficult mission such as develop the students interest, arousing in the students the wish of knowledge and change. To build up the citizenship we need to know clearly the goals of the education, allowing the students a bigger development and understanding about what a citizen is, where the citizen himself may free of the chains of alienation and realize that education is the main tool to the construction of a citizenship, where everybody has the right to life, health, education, leisure and freedom, and finally, to the dignity as human being. The methodology used to develop this paper is bibliographic research. This paper is developed in three chapters; the first is about school education, problems and difficulties in education and the school as an institution; the second chapter tries to give a concept of citizenship, and how it is possible to build it up; the third chapter discusses the relation of education and citizenship and how this relation can contribute in the construction of citizenship.

The diploma thesis surveys the current legal regulation of state citizenship in the Czech Republic in relation to selected states of the Middle East. The thesis contains descriptions and analysis of the legal regulation in force regarding the state citizenship in the Czech Republic, the State of Israel and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; it also describes the complicated legal situation in the Palestinian territories. In the part focused on the Middle East, the thesis deals with three fundamentally different yet comparable, historically and politically interconnected, state formations - Jewish parliamentary republic, Arab Muslim constitutional monarchy and a state formation sui generis. Besides the introduction and the conclusion, the diploma thesis consists of five chapters. The first four chapters successively deal with the Czech Republic, Israel, Jordan and the Palestinian territories, whereas the fifth one compares them. The chapters dedicated to the Czech Republic, Israel and Jordan focus on the study of acquisition and loss of citizenship in the said state, characteristic of citizenship, multiple citizenships and development of relevant legal regulation. The influence of paternalistic leadership on organisational commitment and organisational citizenship behaviour at selected organisations in the Western Cape Province

Magister Commercii (Industrial Psychology) - MCom(IPS) / Achieving organisational effectiveness and sustainable growth is the ultimate goal of organisations in their quest to deliver the services required by society. The achievement of organisational effectiveness is not a random event; organisations rely on their employees' ability to go the extra mile by exhibiting some organisational citizenship behaviours. In order to elicit organisational citizenship behaviours, organisations need leaders who can cultivate some commitment in employees which can arguably lead to the enactment of organisational citizenship behaviours. The culture of an organisation is often determined by the beliefs, values and behaviour of the leader. A paternalistic leadership style is likely to create a culture in which caring for subordinates is crucial, moral integrity is greatly esteemed and authority is respected. When this type of culture is evident in the organisation certain desirable behavioural patterns will come forth from the employees. The purpose of the current research study is to answer the question, "Does paternalistic leadership have a significant influence on organisational commitment and organisational citizenship behaviour among employees working in selected organisations in the Western Cape?". In order to answer the research question explaining the hypothesised relationships, the manner in which paternalistic leadership affect organisational commitment and organisational citizenship behaviour was discussed culminating in a theoretical model which was developed and tested in the present study. The study was conducted using employees drawn from selected organisations in the Western Cape Province of South Africa. The participants were asked to complete three questionnaires comprising the Paternalistic Leadership questionnaire developed by Cheng, Chou and Farh (2000); an adapted version of the Organisational Commitment questionnaire by Allen and Meyer (1991) and the Organisational Citizenship Behaviour questionnaire Podsakoff, Mackenzie, Moorman and Fetter (1990). Out of 300 questionnaires that were distributed to the employees, 230 (n=230) completed questionnaires were returned. Item and dimensionality analyses were conducted on all of the dimensions using SPSS version 23. Subsequently, confirmatory factor analysis was executed on the measurement models of the instruments used. The proposed model was evaluated using structural equation modelling (SEM) via the LISREL version 8.80 software. It was found that both the measurement and structural models fitted the data reasonably well. The results indicated positive relationships between benevolent leadership and organisational commitment; authoritarian leadership and organisational commitment; moral leadership and OCB; and organisational commitment and OCB. There was, however, no significant relationship between moral leadership and organisational commitment; benevolent and OCB. Due to the fact that a few studies on paternalistic leadership exist in South Africa this study adds to the board of knowledge on paternalistic leadership and how it affects employee commitment and OCB. The practical implications of the study and limitations are discussed as well as the direction for future studies.
