Dans cette thèse, je propose à la fois un examen minutieux des activités maritimes butonaises et un dialogue entre ce cas ethnographique et son contexte austronésien. Pour cela, je mobilise notamment l'approche phénoménologique (et principalement les travaux de Merleau-Ponty sur la perception) ainsi que l'approche historico-culturelle de la cognition développée par Vygotsky. Outre les données ethnographiques inédites concernant le monde butonais (zone linguistique cia-cia), l'analyse développée ici conduit à plusieurs contributions importantes concernant la reconstruction du monde austronésien, le débat universalisme-relativisme dans le cadre de l'anthropologie cognitive ainsi que l'usage de la méthode ethnographique - en mettant l'accent sur la transformation de l'ethnographe au cours du terrain comme objet de connaissance. /<p>This thesis proposes a detailed analysis of Butonese maritime activities as well as a dialogue between this ethnographic case study and its Austronesian context. The analysis relies in particular on Merleau-Ponty's phenomenological analysis of perception and on Vygotsky's historico-cultural conception of cognition. Besides presenting a wealth of new data about the Butonese world (and more specifically the cia-cia linguistic area), the analysis developed here leads to major contributions about the reconstruction of the Austronesian world, the universalism-relativism debate within cognitive anthropology and the use of ethnographic methodology - emphasizing on the ethnographer's own transformation.<p><p><p> / Doctorat en Sciences politiques et sociales / info:eu-repo/semantics/nonPublished

Bioculturalism, simulation and satire : the case of S1mOneKrajewska, Anna Urszula 03 1900 (has links)
Text in English / This study offers a close look at Andrew Niccol’s (b 1964) satirical film S1mOne from a biocultural perspective emphasising the technological simulation of a Hollywood celebrity and the farce ensuing from her creation. The film is based on Niccol’s assumption that the hypertrophied culture into which he places his cultural object will be one in which human traits of sociality will be well advanced and the highly demanding genre of satire will be entertaining, persuasive, and on occasion punitive in its ridicule of Hollywood.
The study makes a contribution to the idea that a cultural object/text operates as a rapid mechanism for propagating cognition — it shows how Niccol has adapted to less than optimal conditions in his world of Hollywood — in this case he parodies the role of the director of Hollywood films in the figure of Taransky. Cognition is understood as that series of mental processes which include attention, memory, learning (from mimicry as well as other forms), problem solving, ratiocination, and making decisions. Niccol relies on his audience's embodied capacities and skills of recognition, thinking, feeling, remembering, and accounting for his message to be understood. Niccol’s technical skill in editing his narrative to emphasise the satire of the narrative of Taransky and Simone is a critical part of the film’s success. Interpersonal and social propagation of cognition is achieved through reference to other cultural artefacts recalling a variety of similar ideas used in film and other visual creations. The cultural significance of the simulacrum, Simone, is that she is a vehicle for and a form of socially propagated cognition.
The powerful imagistic impression of film helps to structure internalised cognitive artefacts in the viewers who are expected to reflect on their habits of viewing and thinking. Profils sociolangagiers, scripts culturels et compréhension de texte écrit par des élèves en situation africaine de contact des languesDalle, Émile-Lesage 25 April 2018 (has links)
Notre étude se proposait d'analyser les relations entre les profils sociolangagiers, la flexibilité cognitive, les scripts culturels et la compréhension de textes écrits en langue seconde chez des élèves camerounais de langue maternelle ewondo, scolarisés en français. Nous avons recueilli auprès de 72 élèves d'une école primaire une série d'informations d'ordre sociodémographique, sociolinguistique, sociopsychologique et cognitif. En outre, nous avons relevé des mesures de compréhension immédiate et différée de textes présentant des scripts différents, lus par ces élèves. Les résultats montrent que la compréhension immédiate des textes a été prédite par quelques critères des scripts et que la compréhension différée était surtout corrélée avec les performances en compréhension immédiate. Les profils sociolangagiers des élèves font apparaître une certaine homogénéité au sein du groupe des élèves. La reconnaissance des textes semble influencée par l'importance accordée aux deux langues. D'autre part, il n'y a aucun lien entre les profils sociolangagiers et les différentes dimensions des scripts. De même, la flexibilité cognitive n'est pas corrélée avec la reconnaissance des textes lus. / Québec Université Laval, Bibliothèque 2016

Cross-Cultural Comparative Study of Users’ Perception of the Navigation Organization of an E-Commerce Web ApplicationBilyayeva, Tetiana A 01 January 2012 (has links)
The object of this study was to assess the influence of native language, as a principal cultural characteristic, one users’ behavior when using a web-based e-commerce application. The study expands on previous research by comparing English and Russian users. The research also considered demographic data to assess additional factors that influence behavior and task performance. The research design encompassed an online shopping application with two different navigation menus. One menu was based on the action-object model and the other was based on the object-action model. The user interface was created in two different languages (Russian and English). This study suggests that language, as a cultural indicator, has a direct relationship to user satisfaction and performance in e-commerce web applications.
