The target of this dissertation thesis is to verify a relationship between strategic planning and prosperity of the company. Opinions of many experts about expediency of strategic planning vary. Some believe that strategic planning is a base for successful growth, while others demonstrate through results of many different researches that a direct relationship between strategic planning and success of the company cannot be proven. Therefore an empirical research was made to test hypotheses about the impact of strategic planning on prosperity of the company. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the development of strategic management followed by a description of internal and external business environments and the impacts which influence them. The theoretical part also describes the characteristics of strategic management and planning, tools and models as well as methods for measurement of efficiency of strategic planning. As the sub-target of this thesis is also to propose a simplified model of strategic planning which could be applied in small and medium size companies, the theoretical part is concluded by description of specifics of small and medium size companies. The analytical part of the thesis consists of detailed analyses of data collected through questionnaires. Based on results of those analyses, profiles of different categories of companies are synthesized. Conclusions of performed analyses and syntheses are used as a base for testing of validity of defined hypotheses. A new concept of the “4-segments model” of strategic planning is presented in the proposal part of the thesis. Benefits for theory and for practical use are evaluated at the end of the thesis.

Podpora výzkumu a vývoje: cesta ke zvýšení konkurenceschopnosti podniků / R&D support: the way how to increase enterprises’ competitiveness

This dissertation investigates the possibilities of increased use of direct and indirect support for R&D in small and medium-sized companies operating in branches of the manufacturing industry in the Czech Republic and specialising in the production of computers and electronic and optical instrumentation and equipment. The choice of the topic of this work was motivated by personal experience in a field in which companies either have not had enough information to take advantages of subsidies for research and development or have had negative experience relating to applications for direct support for research and development. These facts have presented obstacles to the realisation of research and development in corporate practice. The aim of this dissertation is to propose a methodology for the use of available tools in support for research and development in the Czech Republic and its verification against real data from selected companies. Data from primary and secondary research was used to investigate the selected area of academic knowledge. A questionnaire investigation was performed on the basis of knowledge obtained from detailed research of Czech and foreign literary sources. The respondents were companies in the electronic industry. The dissertation presents the results of empirical research and an assessment of research questions relating to a comparison of a selected sample of companies actively realising research and development with companies engaged merely in production with no innovative processes. On the basis of questionnaire processing and the testing of research questions, a methodology was created for small and medium-sized companies with the use of fuzzy logic facilitating decision-making in the financing of research and development activities with the use of direct and indirect support. Use of the proposed methodology will allow companies to expand sources of financing for the innovation process as an essential part of the competitive battle in the industry in question. The methodology is a significant aid for strategic decision-making in small and medium-sized companies considering the introduction of research, development and innovation. Benefits of this dissertation can be seen not merely on the theoretical and practical level, but also in the area of education.

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity” : A qualitative study on inflation and uncertainties impact on global furniture export companies

In today's dynamic business landscape, companies are constantly exposed to a multitude of challenges and uncertainties that can significantly impact their operations and performance. Inflation, a worldwide pandemic, supply chain disruptions, and rising costs are just a few of the disruptive events that have occurred during the last few years. This thesis investigates the effects of inflation and uncertainties on companies operating in the furniture industry. This thesis adopts a qualitative research approach as its methodological foundation. A comprehensive review of relevant literature and studies pertaining to the subject matter is conducted. To supplement the theoretical insights, empirical data is collected through semi-structured interviews conducted with five company cases. The data collected from these interviews serves as the basis for the development of three key themes: Macroeconomics, export, and crisis management. These themes are consistently woven throughout the thesis, providing a coherent narrative for the reader. This thesis concludes that in times of uncertainties, global furniture export companies have diversified suppliers and markets, managed resources effectively, implemented proactive risk management, and cultivated strong relationships. Prioritizing crisis management, monitoring macroeconomic factors, and optimizing strategic resources have all been key for enhancing resilience and competitiveness in this industry and allows the industry to grow and advance, as in the face of adversity it becomes evident that in the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.

Digital strategi för konkurrenskraft och värdeskapande : Ur två fastighetsbolags perspektiv / Digital strategy for competitiveness and value creation : From the perspective of two real estate companies

Bygg- och fastighetsbranschen har en stor påverkan över samhället, såväl ekonomiskt, miljömässigt och socialt. Dock kännetecknas branschen av att vara ineffektiv, konservativ och ligga steget efter i den digitala utvecklingen. Studier har visat att fastighetsbolag utgör en viktig nyckelaktör för att driva branschens digitala utveckling framåt. Det har även lyfts fram att fastighetsbolags strategiarbete är av stor betydelse för att kunna möjliggöra denna utveckling. Att arbeta med strategier beskrivs som direkt avgörande för att företag ska kunna överleva och vara konkurrenskraftiga på marknaden. Strategier beskrivs finnas på tre olika organisatoriska nivåer, vilket är koncern-, affärs- och funktionsstrategi. Det framgår att det finns stora vinningar av att strategier, mellan de organisatoriska nivåerna, är sammankopplade. Detta för att enklare kunna samordna strategiarbetet och därmed kunna arbeta mot samma processer och mål. En strategi som berör användandet av digital teknik är funktionsstrategin IT-strategi. När den är sammankopplad med affärsstrategin skapas en digital strategi. Digital strategi, kan med andra ord beskrivas av att digital teknik är integrerad med verksamheten. Digital strategi lyfts fram som en viktig drivkraft för att driva den digitala utvecklingen framåt. Följande examensarbete syftar därmed till att undersöka hur en digital strategi kan underbygga konkurrenskraft och värdeskapande, genom att undersöka hur fastighetsbolags affärsstrategi och IT-strategi är sammankopplade. Studien undersöker även fastighetsbolags övergripande arbete för att utvecklas digitalt. Studien baseras på en kvalitativ metod, där data erhållits från semi-strukturerade intervjuer från två fastighetsbolag. Bolagen benämns Fastighetsbolag A och Fastighetsbolag B. Båda bolagen riktar primärt in sig på kommersiella fastigheter, med ett långsiktigt ägande. Respondenterna utgörs av enhetschefer, projektchefer, projektledare och digitaliseringssakkunniga. Studiens resultat tyder på att det råder en högre medvetenhet kring fastighetsbolagens affärsstrategi, i jämförelse med strategier kring digitalt arbete. Vad gäller kopplingen mellan användandet av digital teknik och affärsverksamheten framgår det att det finns goda förutsättningar, men att dessa inte är tydligt uttalade och medvetna inom bolagen, vilket leder till att de tillsynes upplevs obefintliga. De slutsatser som kan dras från studien är att arbete med strategier ses som oerhört komplext, därav ställs höga krav på struktur i arbetet. För att digital teknik ska integreras i affärsverksamheten, framgår det i studien, att allt i slutändan handlar om att kunna påvisa en direkt nytta. I dagsläget underbygger den digitala strategin inte konkurrenskraft och värdeskapande i den mån den skulle kunna göra hos fastighetsbolagen, då det inte har kunnat påvisa en direkt nytta. Dock kan det ifrågasättas vems nytta som driver fastighetsbolagens digitala utveckling. Är det kunden som ska efterfråga en nytta? Eller är det bolagen som ska erbjuda kunden något som skapar nytta, innan kunden själv har efterfrågat det? Detta kan ses som en komplex paradox, som kan vara en förklaring till att fastighetsbolagens digitala utveckling bromsas. / The construction and real estate industry has a major impact on society; financially, environmentally as well as socially. However, the industry is characterized by being inefficient, conservative and lagging behind in digital development. Studies have shown that real estate companies are an important key player in driving the industry's digital development forward. It has also been emphasized that real estate companies' strategy work is of great importance to enable this development. Working strategically is described as a crucial factor in enabling companies to survive and be competitive in the market. Strategies are described at three different organizational levels, which are at corporate group, a business or an operational level. Research has shown that great benefits can be seen upon interconnecting the strategies between the different organizational levels. This makes it easier to coordinate strategic work and thus eases working towards the same processes and goals. One strategy that concerns the use of digital technology is the functional strategy IT strategy. When it is linked to the business strategy, a digital strategy is created. Digital strategy, in other words, can be described by the fact that digital technology is integrated with business activities. A digital strategy is highlighted as an important driver for driving digital development forward. The following thesis work aims to investigate how a digital strategy can substantiate competitiveness and value creation by examining how real estate companies' business strategy and IT strategy are aligned. The study also investigates the overall work of real estate companies to develop digitally. The study is based on a qualitative method, where data was obtained from semi-structured interviews from two real estate companies. The companies are referred to as Real Estate Company A and Real Estate Company B. Both companies are primarily focused on commercial properties, with long-term ownership. The respondents from the interviews are head of operations, project managers, assistant project managers and digitization experts. The study's results indicate that there is a higher awareness of the real estate companies' business strategy, as compared to strategies of digital work. Regarding the connection between the use of digital technology and the business activities, it is clear that the preexisting conditions are good, but not clearly stated and conscious within the companies, which makes them perceived as non-existent. The conclusions drawn from the study are that strategical work is seen as extremely complex, hence high demands are placed on the structure of the work. For digital technology to be integrated into business activities, the study shows that everything is ultimately about being able to demonstrate a direct benefit. At present, the digital strategy does not support competitiveness and value creation within real estate companies to the extent that it has the ability to, as it has not been able to demonstrate a direct benefit. However, it can be questioned whose benefit drives the real estate companies' digital development. Is it the customer who demands a benefit? Or is it the companies that needs to offer the customer something that creates benefits, before the customer has demanded it himself? This can be seen as a complex paradox, which may be an explanation for the real estate companies' digital development being slowed down.

Thus, a scientific and practical problem arises for investors: "How to assess the permissible level of capital safety with maximum profit-taking?" The importance of the problem has determined the choice of the research topic, its relevance, methodological and practical significance. The purpose of the study is the theoretical justification of the expediency of forming strategic plans of the organization taking into account the real competitive position determined on the basis of the business valuation toolkit and the creation of a methodology for the practical application of theoretical provisions. The practical significance of the study is that the safety profile of the use of capital is easily modeled, has available information resources for calculation, and can be used without significant financial costs, which minimizes the transaction costs of searching for information.

The growing number of companies creates competition, new markets and forces commercial organizations to apply modern tools to develop and maintain sales. This means that marketing in Russian manufacturing companies must move to a new level. The goal of the master's thesis is to develop and test a methodology for creating a marketing strategy for an enterprise, a feature of which is the assessment of key indicators of the marketing plan, such as the cost of attracting one lead and one client. The analysis was based on a study of the financial performance of market players, periodicals and articles, research data published on the official website of enterprises, including organizational documents and corporate publications. During the writing of the master’s thesis, a methodology was developed and tested for creating an enterprise’s marketing strategy based on lead management. The use of the developed tools is aimed at increasing the efficiency of marketing organization at the enterprise and the level of competitiveness of the company As a result of testing the developed methodology, a marketing strategy was created at the company KZTS-Dormash LLC, and directions for improving the developed methodology were determined. / Рост числа компаний порождает конкуренцию, новые рынки и заставляет коммерческие организации применять современные инструменты для развития и поддержания уровня продаж. Это означает, что маркетинг в российских производственных компаниях должен переходить на новый уровень. Целью магистерской диссертации является разработка и апробация методики по созданию маркетинговой стратегии на предприятии, особенностью которого является оценка ключевых показателей маркетингового плана, таких как стоимость привлечения одного лида и одного клиента. Анализ основывался на изучении финансовых показателей игроков рынка, материалах периодической печати и статей, данных об исследованиях, опубликованных на официальном сайте предприятий, в том числе организационные документы и корпоративные издания В ходе написания магистерской диссертации была разработана и апробирована методика по созданию маркетинговой стратегии на предприятии на основе лид-менеджмента. Использование разработанного инструментария нацелено на повышения эффективности организации маркетинга на предприятии и уровня конкурентоспособности компании. В результате апробации разработанной методики была создана маркетинговая стратегия на предприятии ООО «КЗТС-Дормаш», а также определены направления совершенствования разработанной методики.

Сфера аудиторской деятельности Российской Федерации в настоящий момент находится в процессе интеграции в интернациональное экономическое пространство, что выражается в переходе с 2017г. на международные стандарты аудита. Многие аспекты финансовой и правовой деятельности аудиторских организаций ещё нуждаются в доработке для их эффективного и конкурентоспособного функционирования в условиях переходного периода. В магистерской диссертации сформулированы и раскрыты положения научной новизны, связанные с систематизацией наиболее существенных различий и тенденций преемственности между федеральными и внедряемыми международными стандартами аудита, а также выявлена взаимосвязь между изменениями в стандартизации аудита и возможностями их внедрения в практическую деятельность российских аудиторских организаций в настоящее время. По результатам исследования разработана многофакторная модель оценки рисков аудиторской организации для повышения ее конкурентоспособности в условиях реформирования отрасли. Практическая значимость заключается в возможности применения данной методики в практической деятельности аудиторской фирмы для преодоления переходного периода без потерь качества оказываемых услуг, репутации и реальных доходов. / The sphere of auditing activities of the Russian Federation is currently in the process of integration into the international economic space, which is reflected in the transition from 2017. on international auditing standards. Many aspects of the financial and legal activities of audit organizations still need to be refined for their effective and competitive functioning in a transitional period. The master's thesis formulated and revealed the provisions of scientific novelty related to the systematization of the most significant differences and continuity trends between federal and international auditing standards being implemented, and also revealed the relationship between changes in audit standardization and the possibilities for their implementation in the practical work of Russian audit organizations at the present time. According to the results of the study, a multifactor risk assessment model has been developed for an audit organization to increase its competitiveness in the context of industry reform. The practical significance lies in the possibility of using this methodology in the practice of an audit firm to overcome the transition period without loss of the quality of services provided, reputation and real income.

The digital economy as a priority of the informatization strategy of the Russian economy for 2016–2022: by a resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation, an order was adopted to approve the Digital Economy of the Russian Federation program dated July 28, 2017. 70% of the document flow should be converted into electronic form for this period. The aim of the study is to develop measures for the development of remote access to banking services in order to increase the competitiveness of the Point bank. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that the breadth of the introduction of innovative banking products was determined depending on the model of remote banking services adopted by the bank (hereinafter RBS), as well as ways to increase the competitiveness of the RBS system were identified. Based on a survey of employees and customers of 50 Russian banks (first half of 2019), it was determined that 2.70% of the banking sector of the Russian Federation is provided by the banking system. The emergence of a new business model of the bank reduces the cost of banking services and creates additional competitive advantages for customers. According to the map of strategic groups, the Tochka bank is a direct competitor of Sberbank in the field of banking and banking services. The effects of the introduction of RBS in the Point bank are: an increase in the productivity of managers working with clients; 40% reduction in maintenance costs; increase the availability of services. The recommendations are practical and implemented in the activities of the bank Point. / Цифровая экономика как приоритет стратегии информатизации российской экономики на 2016–2022 гг.: постановлением Правительством Российской Федерации было принято распоряжение на утверждение программы «Цифровая экономика Российской Федерации» от 28.07.2017. Документооборот на 70% должен быть переведен в электронный вид за этот период. Целью исследования является разработка мероприятий по развитию удаленного доступа к банковским услугам с целью повышения конкурентоспособности банка Точка. Научная новизна состоит в том, что была определена широта внедрения инновационных банковских продуктов в зависимости от принятой банком модели дистанционного банковского обслуживания (далее ДБО), а также определены способы повышения конкурентоспособности системы ДБО. На основании проведенного опроса сотрудников и клиентов 50 российских банков (первая половина 2019 года) было определено, что 2,70% банковского сектора РФ обеспечивают ДБО. Появление новой бизнес-модели банка снижает себестоимость банковских услуг и создает для клиентов дополнительные конкурентные преимущества. Согласно карте стратегических групп, банк Точка является прямым конкурентом Сбербанка в сфере ДБО. Эффектами от внедрения ДБО в банке Точка являются: увеличение производительности труда менеджеров по работе с клиентами; сокращение расходов на обслуживание на 40%; увеличение доступности услуг. Рекомендации носят практический характер и внедрены в деятельность банка Точка.
