A poluição das águas do Rio Bauru vista sob a perspectiva da pedagogia histórico-crítica /

Genovez, Cinthia Letícia de Carvalho Roversi. January 2006 (has links)
The ambient crisis that the planet faces has been reason of great concern for many countries. In the current civilization model it predominates wastefulness and the wild consumption. Of this form, the Environmental Education, in the partnerambient perspective starts to be an instrument of awareness in the intention to form citizens compromised to the change of values, attitudes and behaviors. One of the many ambient problems is the question of the water pollution. To understand the pollution of waters is of basic importance, since the preservation of its quality consists of preserving the proper life. Therefore, to leave of these questionings one searched, in this research, to work new a proposal for the pedagogical work: the Description-Critical Pedagogy (PHC); in order to answer the questions: Is possible to work in classroom the subject of the pollution of waters having as reference the Description-Critical Pedagogy as education methodology? Which the results of its application? To answer to these and other questions consisting in the way of the inquiry, one worked, during a period of learning semester, in the lessons of disciplines Biology, in a group of the Third Series of Average Education of a State Public School of the City of Bauru - SP. The instruments used in order to reach the objectives of the research had been the Comment, the Daily one of Learning, Reports of the Lessons of Field and Commentaries of Texts. For the analysis of the data the five moments foreseen in the proper PHC had been used, Dermeval Saviani's pedagogical theory, divulged in Brazil in the initial years of the decade of 1980 and "translated" for João Luiz Gasparin in 2002. The analysis of the data demonstrates that the PHC was a method reference that obtained to articulate of satisfactory form the boarded subject / Mestre

The present context of the public school state it as a logic legitimating institution of capitalistic system. The Natural Science teaching is presented under a positivist perspective in which the scientific knowledge assumes decisive, accumulative, inquestionable form certifying alienating logic imposed by this system and oppressor of humanization process of the individual. We understand as necessary a type of pedagogy which presents theorical-pratical basis for a Natural Science teaching configuration to provide elements to overcome this alienating condition and to promote the humanization processo of the individual. This is a critical-dialectical approach research that one we use as theoreticalmetodological reference to the Historical-Critical Pedagogy and we have as aim to identify the meanings assigned by Science teachers to this discipline in the beginning of secundary education analysing them from Historical-Critical Pedagogy reference. Therefore, we accomplished semistructured interviews to gather data from the teachers. We used constructive-interpretative instrument of the nucleus of meaning as analitical tool. Altoghether the Science teachers present meanings regarding to scientific knowledge descredit at school, on the usefulness of the scientific knowledge on daily comprehension and on the Science concept supported by empiric-positivist perspective. By this work we indicate some inherent elements to Natural Science teaching which refer to Science teacher práxis and that need to be present in the dicussions on teachers’ education. The mentioned education should provide the appropriation of the necessary elements for this professional education in its totality.

ABSTRACT This study, which has object the investigation of curriculum conception in the academic production of Dermeval Saviani, starts from the presupposition that education plays a crucial role in the development of humanity: to transmit the historical legacy built by previous generations to future generations. Considering the level of development of the historical-critical pedagogical proposal in the context of pedagogical ideas, their character against hegemonic and the recognized importance of the work of Dermeval Saviani occupies in the Brazilian educational context seek to investigate the existence of a curriculum conception in the works of this author, which once found through its preliminary reading, we tried to identify the level of development of this curriculum design and what are the contributions (possibilities) and limits (reality) to think the curriculum of basic education with a view to education needed to transition. The following hypoteses were raised: 1) There is the work of Dermeval Saviani elaborations about a curriculum conception that indicate real possibilities to think the curriculum of basic education, aiming at the education necessary to transition to socialism given that this lies between critical educational theories of historical materialist dialectic theoretical base, whose task is to overcome both the illusory power (that characterizes the non-critical theories) as the impotence (arising from critical-reproductivist theories) educational theories; 2) Possibly the work of Dermeval Saviani contributes to the discussion about the curriculum of basic school advance because, for the analysis of the educational phenomenon, the author, has historically considering the issues of educational philosophy, structure and educational politics, history education and pedagogical theory. We defend the thesis that there is a curriculum conception in the work of Dermeval Saviani and that this indicates real possibilities to think the curriculum of basic school in the historical-critical perspectivebecause the author analyzes the educational phenomenon considering questions relating to philosophy of education, structure and educational politics, history of education and pedagogical theory, and in this way, a consistent support for confronting the the school curriculum emptying in capitalist society. To achieve the proposed objective, we base ourselves on historical materialist dialectic theory, as this gives us greater possibilities of apprehending the real radically, constituting a theoretical instrument for explain reality and face the problems that this puts us. Were analyzed 29 articles, 06 books and 07 book chapters, totaling 42 documents produced by the author. Was possible to systematize representative frames of a dynamic curriculum backed up in the historical-critical pedagogy, deepening elements on how to treat knowledge, school organization and normatization, especially with regard to the principles for selection and to treat knowledge in this perspective.

Um grupo de formação crítico-reflexiva de professoras de alunos com autismo: vozes no silêncio / A groupof Education critical-reflexive of teachers of autistic students: voices in silence

Ruth Cabral Monteiro de Castro 31 August 2004 (has links)
The main objective of this research was to analyze a process of formation for teachers of autistic students that intended to bring the teachers to a reflective-critic position, through the appropriation of subjects which included from content and didactic strategies to attend students in this conditions to more specific teaching competencies. This study involved a partnership between the Education Department of the City of Duque de Caxias Special Education Team and the Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ) Graduate Program of Education. We used the as methodological approaches the action-reseach and participant observation procedures. Six teachers were subjects of the group, that which developed in ten collective meetings for the proposed formation. The data collection was done in a descriptive fashion, based on the participant observations, the teachers arguments in semi-open interviews, and from written records produced during the group process. We adopted Donald A. Schons theories about the use of reflection in the formation professional groups, revised and extended by a critic perception of other authors such as Pimenta e Contreras. We point out the importance of a space devoted to learning, that valued the interaction between the teachers, that had respect to the individual times and the different ways of learning. In short, that had as main principle to create a reflective-critic conscience in the members, generating bonds of thrust and affection. We considered of great relevance the formation of critic-reflective teachers in Special and Inclusive Education, so that they have conditions to place themselves and act with responsibility and autonomy, demanding working conditions appropriate to the demands of this new reality of an education that respect the ideals of a fair and democratic society.

The impact of neoliberalism on South Africa's education policy discourse post-1994: The quest for a radical critical pedagogy

Dames, Edward William January 2017 (has links)
Magister Educationis - Med / Since the 1980s several different forms of privatisation had been introduced into the South African educational system by the De Lange Commission. Since the 1990s a raft of neoliberal policies has been implemented under the banner of "educational transformation" by the post-apartheid state. This qualitative exploration will apply a critical policy analysis approach to analyse the impact of neoliberalism on post-apartheid education policy discourse in the public schooling system in South Africa from a historical, social and critical perspective. More specifically, I will apply the insights of critical education theory to interrogate the impact of the neoliberal orthodoxy and its concomitant values on the public schooling system with regard to the delivery of accessible, quality public schooling in post-apartheid South Africa.

Faculty Perspectives on Critical Pedagogy and Social Justice

January 2015 (has links)
abstract: In an attempt to gain a greater understanding of the interpretations and attitudes of higher education faculty in education programs teaching critical pedagogy, social justice, student empowerment and related concepts I conducted interviews with twenty faculty members in education programs in the New York City area. It is a study looking at the philosophies and conceptions of faculty and the relationship between those philosophies and their actions in the classroom. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed for trends and patterns. The nature of the questions focused on various aspects of critical pedagogy and allowed for an easy transition to preliminary categories based on the interview questions. The data was reviewed again for similarities and trends, and then again for comparison between the three identified perspectives: Professionalization Perspective, Democratic Student Development Perspective, and Critical Action Perspective. / Dissertation/Thesis / Doctoral Dissertation Educational Leadership and Policy Studies 2015

Making Transformative Space: Exploring Youth Spoken Word as a Site of Critical Pedagogy

January 2016 (has links)
abstract: Since the early 1980s spoken word has been on the rise as a highly influential performance art form. Concurrently, there has been an increase in literature on spoken word, which tends to focus on the critical performative and transformative potential of spoken word. These on-going discussions surrounding youth spoken word often fail to take into account the dynamic, relational, and transitional nature of power that constructs space and subjectivity in spoken word. This ethnographic study of one youth spoken word organization – Poetic Shift – in a southwestern urban area makes a conscious attempt to provide a nuanced, contradictory and partial analysis of space, place, and power in relation to youth spoken word and aspires to generate an understanding of how spaces designated for spoken word are dialectically (re)produced and maintain or subvert dominant relations of power through a constant stream of negotiations. This study aims to more explicitly examine the relationship between place and spoken word in effort to understand how one’s positionality impacts, and is impacted by, their involvement in youth spoken word. Over the course of a 6-month period participant observation was conducted at two high school spoken word workshops and four interviews were completed with both teaching artists and young adult spoken word poets. Using spatial and critical pedagogy frameworks, this study found that Poetic Shift serves as a platform for youth to engage in the performative process of narratively constructing and reconfiguring their identities. Poetic Shift’s ideological position that attributes value and validation to the voices and lived experiences of each youth is an explicit rejection of the dominant paradigm of knowing that relegates some voices to a culture of silence. The point at which the present study deviated from most other literature on spoken word is where it offers a critique of Poetic Shift as a site of critical literacy and of the unreflexive rhetoric of student empowerment. The problematic presuppositions within the call for youth voice and in the linear, overly simplistic curriculum of Poetic Shift tend to reinforce the dominant relations of power. / Dissertation/Thesis / Masters Thesis Justice Studies 2016

Na busca de uma prática pedagógica crítica para o ensino de geografia / In searching of a pedagogical critical practice to teach geography

Verónica Andrea Salgado Labra 01 October 2012 (has links)
Geographical education allows to develop skills for analyze the spatial reality through the study of the dynamics and contradictions that it contains in its constant relationship with human groups, thus enabling a critical understanding of the world. However, the wealth that involves this subject is blurred in everyday action schools, in where dominate a static view of geographical space and the teaching practices grounded in traditionalism. From this perspective, it arises the need to reflect on a didactic proposal that, based to critical education, it invite teachers to develop new teaching strategies that enable them to work towards the construction of meaningful learning. Considering this objective and contributions of the Action Research methodology, were invited a group of teachers from the Araucanía Region of Chile to be part of a reflective process in order to enrich their teaching through the construction of didactic sequences for apply in school. The fieldwork was conducted through workshops that allowed develop a process of reflection over own educational practice of teachers, in where was possible to raise some considerations over perceptions that the teachers about teaching of geography and education in general. These considerations made possible to organize a work about the elements that were necessary to include and improve in classroom to develop plans based on critical theory. Finally, teachers designed the didactic sequences for applied in class, and realized the possibilities they had for carrying out an educational practice to displace the traditional approach to teaching. The analysis obtained in this process allowed obtaining relevant considerations for the work with teachers in the field of continuous training, and important scopes to incorporate teaching practices grounded in critical theory.
