Modelering av Wideband : Code Division Multiple Access / Behaviour modelling of Wideband : Code Division Multiple Access

Huynh, Jack, Gylin, Mattias January 2005 (has links)
Today wireless transmission of data is becoming more and more popular and the need for faster transmission rates is increasing. Since the bandwidth is limited it is important to try to use it to the fullest. CDMA is a technology that allows multiple accesses on the same frequency and time thus making it very bandwidth efficient. The CDMA technology was first introduced in the second generation’s cellular systems but has since then been improved and is reused in today’s 3G systems as Wideband CDMA. ISY is interested in getting a behavioural model of a W-CDMA system since they had developed a DSP processor called BBP1 and were thinking about adding W-CDMA support for it. Even though our system is not implemented on the BBP1 it should provide a good base for future implementations. This thesis project will describe the construction of a behavioural model of a W-CDMA system following the standard specified by 3GPP. The system simulates W-CDMA transmission and reception and has an optional channel used to simulate real world interference. The receiver uses a rake combiner to improve the performance of the system.

Full frame 3D snapshot : Possibilities and limitations of 3D image acquisition without scanning / Helbilds 3D-avbildning

Möller, Björn January 2005 (has links)
An investigation was initiated, targeting snapshot 3D image sensors, with the objective to match the speed and resolution of a scanning sheet-of-light system, without using a scanning motion. The goal was a system capable of acquiring 25 snapshot images per second from a quadratic scene with a side from 50 mm to 1000 mm, sampled in 512×512 height measurement points, and with a depth resolution of 1 µm and beyond. A wide search of information about existing 3D measurement techniques resulted in a list of possible schemes, each presented with its advantages and disadvantages. No single scheme proved successful in meeting all the requirements. Pulse modulated time-of-flight is the only scheme capable of depth imaging by using only one exposure. However, a resolution of 1 µm corresponds to a pulse edge detection accuracy of 6.67 fs when visible light or other electromagnetic waves are used. Sequentially coded light projections require a logarithmic number of exposures. By projecting several patterns at the same time, using for instance light of different colours, the required number of exposures is reduced even further. The patterns are, however, not as well focused as a laser sheet-of-light can be. Using powerful architectural concepts such as matrix array picture processing (MAPP) and near-sensor image processing (NSIP) a sensor proposal was presented, designed to give as much support as possible to a large number of 3D imaging schemes. It allows for delayed decisions about details in the future implementation. It is necessary to relax at leastone of the demands for this project in order to realise a working 3D imaging scheme using concurrent technology. One of the candidates for relaxation is the most obvious demand of snapshot behaviour. Furthermore, there are a number of decisions to make before designing an actual system using the recommendations presented in this thesis. The ongoing development of electronics, optics, and imaging schemes might be able to meet the 3D snapshot demands in a near future. The details of light sensing electronics must be carefully evaluated and the optical components such as lenses, projectors, and fibres should be studied in detail.

Design and implementation of recording functionality for an IP-based set-top box / Design och implementation av inspelningsfunktionalitet för en IP-baserad set-top-box

Gusic, Aner January 2004 (has links)
This theses covers the design and implementation of recording functionality for a set-top box in a home network. An initial investigation is done and possibilities for extending the system to support specific features are presented. Digital TV is becoming more common each day, and soon it will be more widely used than todays analogue standard. At the same time the need for recording TV shows remains the same or is increasing, which is shown by the number of PVR solutions popping up on the market. The goal of this thesis work was to investigate the possibilities for extending an existing set-top box to support common PVR features and, if possible, to implement a prototype. This was supposed to be done in a home network environment with the set-top box as the digital media center. A satisfying solution, covering basic recording functionality is defined and implemented. The solution includes recording to a USB hard drive and to a PC on the local network. On top of this, a graphical user interface is built and some simple benchmarks show the performance of the set-top box with the new functionality.

Risk Analysis of the applied RFID system : Project Stolpen

Grunzke, Richard January 2007 (has links)
<p>This thesis will be a risk analysis of a RFID-system for a logistical application. The system works as follows: Around Karlstad in Sweden there are three new weighing machines for lorries. The load weight will be measured for the police to control overweight and for logistical reasons such as issuing invoices and optimising the supply chain. The lorries do not have to stop to be weighed. They have to drive slowly over the weighing machine, so the loss of time is minimal. The lorries will be identified via RFID-tags. So every time a lorry will be driven over the weighing machine, the identification number and the measured weight will be logged and send to a database. In the future it is planed to store the weight on the tag itself. The task is now to analyse the RFID-communication and the transmission to the database. The thesis will contain several parts. First RFID in general and how RFID will be used in the application-scenario will be described. Next sections will be about the security and privacy requirements and the risks in detail. Then possible solutions are outlined and concrete suggestions are presented. Finally a conclusion will be drawn, which will show that the application has a low level of security.</p>

Detektering och analys av röjande signaler från pekskärmar / Detection and Analysis of Compromising Emanations from Touchscreens

Celik, Hakan January 2019 (has links)
This work is about TEMPEST (Transient Electro-Magnetic Pulse Emanation Standard) which is a term for describing the gathering of secret information that leak from a system. The specific observed system is the touchscreen of a smartphone. The aim is to firstly examine the information needed for an identification of the touched area on a touchscreen of a smartphone by TEMPEST. Given this information, the work then examines the accuracy of such an identification. The method is based on experimental examinations, observations and measures as well as probability distributions. Conclusions from the results are the fact that the accuracy of an identification becomes higher when synchronizing the communication between the smartphone and its display with a measuring instrument. Moreover, the accuracy of an identification varies with chosen measurement method and this work showed that a higher accuracy was achieved when taking measurements with an absorbing clamp compared to a near-field probe.

Digital Dental Mirror : En prototyp

Pllashniku, Edlir, Stanikzai, Zolal January 2019 (has links)

Klemola, Josefin January 2019 (has links)
The report handles the process of creating a website for Outdoor Bräcke. Outdoor Bräcke is a substantial outdoor facility built and planned by the sports association Bräcke Sportsclub. The facility does not have a website and with the goal of spreading information about the facility to the public a graphic profile has been created, with a website, logotype and color scheme. Analysis about web usability was made to answer the main problem statements in the project: What purpose does a website serve for a sports association? What functionalities does a association require on their website? Does associations really need websites? The result of these questions vary due to social medias large role in today's society, associations doesn't need a website to spread information. An outdoor facility like Outdoor Bräcke could use a website where visitors can book the facility online and find information without having to navigate around on social media. The project has specialized on usability to create a website that is easy to use and accessible. The website was sketched on a design tool and the coded with Laravel, which is a framework for the programminglanguage PHP. The report also goes through different usability principles and what tools are used to reach these result. Usability plays a large role in how websites are consumed today, and they require a high usability level for visitors to stay on a website. In the report a in-depth analysis has been made on the current option for a website for Outdoor Bräcke to see how it can be improved and how the current situation is.

Partitioned Scheduling of Real-Time Tasks on Multi-core Platforms

Nemati, Farhang January 2010 (has links)
In recent years multiprocessor architectures have become mainstream, and multi-core processors are found in products ranging from small portable cell phones to large computer servers. In parallel, research on real-time systems has mainly focused on traditional single-core processors. Hence, in order for real-time systems to fully leverage on the extra capacity offered by new multi-core processors, new design techniques, scheduling approaches, and real-time analysis methods have to be developed. In the multi-core and multiprocessor domain there are mainly two scheduling approaches, global and partitioned scheduling. Under global scheduling each task can execute on any processor at any time while under partitioned scheduling tasks are statically allocated to processors and migration of tasks among processors is not allowed. Besides simplicity and efficiency of partitioned scheduling protocols, existing scheduling and synchronization methods developed for single-core processor platforms can more easily be extended to partitioned scheduling. This also simplifies migration of existing systems to multi-cores. An important issue related to partitioned scheduling is distribution of tasks among processors which is a bin-packing problem. In this thesis we propose a partitioning framework for distributing tasks on the processors of multi-core platforms. Depending on the type of performance we desire to achieve, the framework may distribute a task set differently, e.g., in an application in which tasks process huge amounts of data the goal of the framework may be to decrease cache misses.Furthermore, we propose a blocking-aware partitioning heuristic algorithm to distribute tasks onto the processors of a multi-core architecture. The objective of the proposed algorithm is to decrease blocking overhead of tasks which reduces the total utilization and has the potential to reduce the number of required processors. Finally, we have implemented a tool to facilitate evaluation and comparison of different multiprocessor scheduling and synchronization approaches, as well as different partitioning heuristics. We have applied the tool in the evaluation of several partitioning heuristic algorithms, and the tool is flexible to which any new scheduling or synchronization protocol as well as any new partitioning heuristic can easily be added.

Make it Simpler : Structure-aware mesh decimation of large scale models / Gör det enklare : Strukturmedveten meshdecimering av storskaliga modeller

Böök, Daniel January 2019 (has links)
A 3D-model consists out of triangles, and in many cases, the amount of triangles are unnecessarily large for the application of the model. If the camera is far away from a model, why should all triangles be there when in reality it would make sense to only show the contour of the model? Mesh decimation is often used to solve this problem, and its goal is to minimize the amount of triangles while still keep the visual representation intact. Having the decimation algorithm being structure aware, i.e. having the algorithm aware of where the important parts of the model are, such as corners, is of great benefit when doing extreme simplification. The algorithm can then decimate large, almost planar parts, to only a few triangles while keeping the important features detailed. This thesis aims to describe the development of a structure aware decimation algorithm for the company Spotscale, a company specialized in creating 3D-models of drone footage.
