In regard to the exegetic methodology, this study is conducted using a synchronic perspect;s narrative, one perceives the importance of the so-called exodus project as a search for a fair society with no poor, an inclusive and compassionate society. Certainly, the last supper condensates al;s gospel, Jesus death is interpreted from a prophetic perspective of the practice of justice; / O presente estudo tem por objetivo demonstrar as dimensões sociais da ceia de Jesus, segundo o evangelho de Mc 14,22-25. Quanto à metodologia exegética, a pesquisa é conduzida por meio da perspectiva sincrônica. O estudo literário desta perícope leva a situá-la no contexto das refeições de Jesus, das partilhas prodigiosas dos pães, podendo-se chegar a considerar a última ceia a culminância destas. Transparece assim, na narrativa de Mc, a importância do chamado projeto do êxodo enquanto busca da construção de uma sociedade justa e sem pobres, inclusiva e solidária. Certamente, esta ceia condensa toda a comensalidade de Jesus, que, por um lado, subverte os valores do sistema social da Palestina do século I sob o domínio dos romanos, baseados na busca da honra, do prestígio e do status... Por outro, o agir comensal de Jesus parece ser contestação às normas da pureza ritual das lideranças religiosas judaicas de Jerusalém, como também crítica à concepção expiatória dos sacrifícios apresentados no templo. A ceia de Jesus é antecipação do banquete escatológico, do qual participarão todos, segundo a fidelidade ao projeto do Reino de Deus. Sua morte, conforme o evangelho de Marcos, é interpretada na perspectiva profética da prática da justiça.

Pronominal `I', Rastafari and the lexicon of the New Testament with special reference to Paul's epistle to the Romans

Anyone familiar with the Rastafari movement and its connection with the Bible is struck by the prevalence of I-locution found in them both. Because the phenomenon is important in the canonical Testaments, more so the New, this study seeks to investigate its significance in certain epistolary pieces (Romans 7 :14-25 ; 15 :14-33), the bio-Narratives and the Apocalypse, in their historical and cultural milieu. The next stage of the investigation then compares the findings of the aforementioned New Testament books with corresponding statements of the Rasta community to determine their relevance for the ongoing Anglophone theological discussion. In this connection, the following questions are addressed: (1) what are the inter-textual link(s) and function(s) of the `I' statements in Romans? (2) How do they relate to similar dominical sayings? And (3) can any parallel be established between the language of Rastafari and these? In sum, the study seeks to bring into critical dialogue the permutative `I' of the NT with the self-understanding of Rastafari. / NEW TESTAMENT / DTH (NEW TESTAMENT)

Boschs ökumenischem Missionsparadigma als Vorschlag für ein ganzheitliches Missionsverständnis mit den Brennpunk-ten Verkündigung und soziales Engagement in einer postmodernen Welt. Auf der Suche nach einer geschichtsbezogenen Eschatologie als Grundlage und motivierende Hoffnung für die Kirche in ih-rer Mission, verweist Bosch mit einiger Zurückhaltung auf die heilsgeschichtliche Theologie seines Lehrers Oscar Cullmann. Die Arbeit setzt sich daher in einem ersten Teil kritisch mit unterschied-lichen eschatologischen Entwürfen und insbesondere mit Cullmanns Eschatologie und deren Impli-kationen auf das Missionsverständnis auseinander. Im Anschluss wird danach gefragt, ob und in-wiefern die Theologie von N.T. Wright die cullmannsche Eschatologie in Sinne von Bosch zu er-weitern vermag. Es wird schliesslich deutlich, dass Wrights eschatologischer Ansatz eine tragfähi-gere Grundlage für ein ganzheitliches Missionsverständnis darstellt, als derjenige von Cullmann. Die Untersuchung will einen Beitrag leisten zur Auseinandersetzung mit der Eschatologie und gleichzeitig Wrights Theologie aus missionstheologischer Perspektive kritisch würdigen. / This missionary-theological investigation takes as its point of departure David J. Bosch’s ecumeni-cal missionary paradigm as a proposal for a holistic understanding of mission with a focus on pro-clamation and social engagement in a postmodern world. In the search for an eschatology related to history as a foundation and motivating hope for the church in its mission, Bosch refers with some reservation to the salvation historical theology of his teacher Oscar Cullmann. Accordingly, the first part of the work is devoted to a critical engagement with different eschatological conceptions and especially with Cullmann’s eschatology and its implications for the understanding of mission. After this, we then ask whether and to what extent the theology of N.T. Wright can expand the Cullman-nian eschatology in the sense of Bosch. It becomes clear in the end that Wright’s eschatological approach represents a more viable foundation for a holistic understanding of mission than that of Cullmann. From this perspective, 1 Timothy 2:12-14 offers a key role for the validity of women as leaders and teachers. Clues towards a correct understanding of 1 Timothy 2:12-14 are to be found in comparisons with references to Old Testament events and their par-ticular function in Pauline discourse, in reception of the order of creation and fall of Eve in early Judaism, and in the function of these references in the argument of 1 Timothy. Finally, 1 Timothy 2:12-14 is examined in view of its immediate context. The thesis concludes that, despite its reference to the order of creation and the fall of Eve, 1 Timothy 2:12-14 should not be understood as an absolute prohibition. / New Testament / M. Th.
