Using multimedia to teach French language and culture

Lemoine, Florence Marie 16 April 2013 (has links)
In order for the study of French to survive in American higher education, it will be necessary to adopt a pedagogy that motivates learners as well as teaches them both language and culture. I argue that the judicious use of visual materials (film, video and graphic novels) is ideal for this undertaking. I further assert--based upon numerous sources from fields such as Second Language Acquisition, cognitive psychology, anthropology and sociolinguistics--that language and culture are inseparable, and that visual materials provide the necessary context to facilitate the teaching of both. Visual materials present both problems and opportunities. I discuss such difficulties as cognitive overload (i.e., students’ being overwhelmed by too much information in too short a period of time) and suggest practical solutions. I also present criteria for the selection of films, such as appropriateness, learning goals and appeal to US university students. I also show how authentic media such as video can be adapted for all proficiency levels (e.g., assigning beginners’ simple word recognition tasks). In considering graphic novels, I suggest a familiar comic strip, Tintin, which is appropriate for beginning to advanced students, and which is likely to appeal to all students, given its American film adaptation. In the appendices, I include applications of the points presented in this report. In the conclusion, I argue that, regardless of the length formal instruction in French, this pedagogy can support practical skills (for example, dealing with people from other cultures) and lifelong learning (for example, staying involved with French culture through the aforementioned media). / text

Elektroninių užsakymų sprendimų tyrimas ir realizacija / The Research and Realization of E-Order Solutions

Černiauskas, Saulius 28 January 2008 (has links)
The goal of this research is to define the main problems solved by e-order solutions, as well as to analyse the existing methods of solving these problems and research similar existing systems, and finally to create and test a model of such system. The research is focused on the implementation of UBL (Universal Busines Language) in e-business systems. It covers the methods of e-procurement systems and the methods of using UBL in realization of these systems. The research covers the existing systems, such as Swedish E-Invoice, Danish E-Invoice and Zanzibar Portal. The main problem of all existing methods and solutions is the integration of existing systems on both, buyer and seller sides. In this work, the project of an e-order system is made in attempt to create a universal solution that would ensure the inegration of any existing system.

Formulera-Kommunicera-Utvärdera / Formulate-Communicate-Evaluate

Mattsson, Kristin January 2014 (has links)
The Swedish governments goal for the public health is to operate for a society with good conditions to be healthy. Many people today are very conscious about their health, at the same time alcohol is a recurring element in many day-to-day situations. IOGT-NTO is an organization that is working towards making sobriety to be the rule rather than the exception. This work is linked together by the organizations communication, which is a vital part to be able to present a unified view outward. In order to do that, it is particularly important that there are common goals and strategies to work towards. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to investigate IOGT-NTOs approach to policy documents and the role they play in their everyday work with communications, and also how they carry out evaluation of their work.   The case study’s theoretical background consists of Strategic Communication, which for structure's sake is divided into sub-categories, Public Relations and Organizational Communication, Internal Communication, External Communication and Evaluation. The study has an abductive approach and uses qualitative methods. The study was conducted using focus interviews and text analysis, which together constituted a triangulation of methods.   The result of the study shows a consistent picture of the steering documents function, they are seen as guidelines that the communicative work is based on. Because of a widespread informal communication documents are not used on an everyday basis, but is instead something that ensures that the work follows the strategy the organization has taken. Evaluation is conducted largely through informal communication between colleagues and is rarely documented as it has a lower priority than other tasks. Therefore, there is potential for development, but in order to spend time on it, a clear goal of how evaluations in this case can be used is required. The study thus contributes to research by highlighting the importance of formulating clear policy documents and implement them when communicating, and that evaluation is a tool which can be used to develop the way that organizations work with communication.

Chazalon, Joseph 09 January 2013 (has links) (PDF)

Elektroninių dokumentų surinkimas ir klasifikavimas įmonės klientų atsiliepimų monitoringo sistemoje / Gathering and classification of electronic documents in feedback from clients company monitoring system

Kalvaitis, Kęstutis 12 June 2008 (has links)
Pavaizduoti realizuoto modelio...
