The Round Table UDC Editorial Perspectives was a one-day meeting for members of the UDC Editorial Team and the UDC Advisory Board organized in The Hague on 28 October 2009 in conjunction with the UDC Seminar 2009 “Classification at a Crossroads: Multiple Directions to Usability”. The meeting was instigated as part of the UDC Consortium efforts to build closer cooperation with UDC specialists and editors of national editions worldwide and to encourage more active involvement and communication between members of the wider UDC editorial team. This was the first face-to-face meeting of the UDC collaborators to which all members of the Advisory Board, the Editorial Team and interested observers were invited to participate.

Periodicals focused on physical education pedagogical content offer a prolific source of past material evidence, above all because they structure, convey, spread, and, therefore, legitimatize pedagogical and educational discourses that can reverberate in school practices. This presupposition underlies this research, which analyzes some issues of Sport Sciences Brazilian Journal aiming at identifying physical education conceptions and their links with the historical construction of this field of study, research, and pedagogical action. Methodological procedures included bibliographical research for theoretical foundation, analytical reading of the papers it published, and its graphic form between 1979 when it was created and 1986 when its first relevant editorial change occurred. Such an analytical reading and interpretation, which take the journal as subject matter and primary source, allows to assert that this journal became a publication searching for its graphic and editorial identity insofar as it consolidated itself as reading object. The papers it published featured an editorial construction in which physical education conceptions have roots in a technicist approach. It also published texts whose scientific feature were more critic. The link between the former perspective and this latter resulted from a change in the editorial board, which implied changing its editorial line. In other words, it happened when the educational dimension of physical educational stood out as a subject of the scientific thought. / Os periódicos pedagógicos voltados à área de educação física oferecem um manancial de evidências materiais do passado, sobretudo, porque estruturam, veiculam, difundem e, logo, legitimam discursos educacionais e pedagógicos que podem repercutir na prática escolar. Eis o pressuposto desta pesquisa, que analisa edições da Revista Brasileira de Ciências do Esporte (RBCE) a fim de identificar concepções de educação física e seus elos com a construção histórica dessa área de estudos, pesquisas e ações pedagógicas. Os procedimentos metodológicos incluíram a pesquisa bibliográfica de fundamentação teórica, a leitura analítica de textos veiculados na Revista entre 1979 a 1986, e sua apresentação gráfica, nesse período que abrange desde a criação do periódico até a primeira mudança mais significativa em sua política editorial. A leitura analítica da RBCE como fonte e objeto e sua interpretação a partir de bibliografia pertinente permitem afirmar que a Revista se constituiu como uma publicação que buscava uma identidade gráfico-editorial à medida que se consolidava como objeto de leitura. Os textos publicados apresentavam uma construção editorial com concepções de educação física ancoradas num universo da formação tecnicista e ao longo das suas edições houve também a veiculação de publicações com um teor científico mais crítico. Essa vinculação entre um campo e outro ocorreu quando a mudança no corpo editorial se traduziu em transformação na linha editorial, isto é, quando a dimensão educacional da educação física edificou-se como instância de reflexão científica crítica. / Mestre em Educação

The diploma thesis deals with the communication strategy of Knižní klub publisher since its establishment till the end of the year 2013. Knižní klub belongs to publishers that mostly in 90s' formed Czech literary culture by its business model. Until recently it was a part of the world media group Bertelsmann, which has operated literary clubs all over the world since 50s' of the 20th century. It entered the Czech Republic shortly after the revolution and brought many forbidden titles. The policy of edition represented the mix of the quality world literature and also the whole range of saleable books which copied actual readers' trends. On this basis, I focus on historical background and its influence of the policy of edition. Then I deal with the development of the literary club after the year 1989. With The Knižní klub publisher, which has gone through several changes from distribution company to appropriate publisher, I try to target the communicational activities in socio-cultural context. Communication strategy was observed through club catalogues and media. Media image in social-cultural supplements Víkend Mladé fronty Dnes, Salon Práva and critical monthly journal Literární noviny is also part of the text and helps to understand the strategy of the publisher.

Este estudo teve por objetivo reconstruir o contexto de produção e o conteúdo da política editorial da série do livro didático Nippongo, que foi elaborado no período entre 1959 1961 e publicado em 1961 no Brasil. A fim de delinear o contexto sócio-histórico da época e o processo de estabelecimento da sua política editorial, fontes primárias como jornais e revistas da época foram pesquisadas. Foram mapeados o surgimento de Bunkyô e Nichigakuren, a influência dos jornais nipo-brasileiros, mudança na política no Brasil, reformas no sistema de escrita e da educação no Japão. Além disso, é observado que os isseis preocupavam-se com a baixa motivação dos nisseis nos estudos de língua japonesa. E também havia a necessidade de que as autoridades brasileiras reconhecessem o livro didático. Neste contexto, Ando iniciou o seu movimento, na Reunião de Ensino de Língua Japonesa, porém, acabou fracassando. Depois foi criada uma nova comissão chamada de Comissão de Publicação do Livro Didático da Língua Japonesa (CPLD), para confeccionar livros didáticos com o apoio financeiro de uma editora do Japão, Teikoku-Shoin. A CPLD estabeleceu uma política editorial, levando em consideração as opiniões dos professores em exercício. Comparando-se os livros didáticos utilizados anteriormente pela colônia com o Nippongo, podemos dizer que houve uma continuidade do ensino do pré-guerra em relação ao foco nos kanjis e na aprendizagem dos kanas, mas também houve a adoção de uma nova abordagem com a introdução de empréstimos lexicais do português e a inserção de textos com tópicos abrangentes, bem como aqueles que relacionados ao Brasil. / This study aims to examine the context of the production and contents of the editorial policy of a textbook series called Nippongo, which was edited between 1959 and 1961 and published in 1961 in Brazil. In order to outline the social and historical context and the process of establishment of its editorial policy, primary sources such as newspapers and magazines during those periods were investigated. According to the contexts, the following factors were observed: foundation of Bunkyô and Nichigakuren, newspapers influence, policy change in Brazil and reform of orthography and education system in Japan. Moreover, it was observed that many Japanese immigrants perceived that their childrens motivation to learn Japanese were low. In addition, they needed textbooks officially approved by Brazilian authorities. In this context, Ando started to express his own view about Japanese language education. Andos ideas were promoted via a newly formed group called the Committee of Education for Japanese Language, but in vain. After that, the Committee for Publication of Japanese Language Textbooks was founded with financial support by a publishing company in Japan called Teikoku-Shoin. The committee established its editorial policy, taking teachers´ opinions into considerations. Compared with other series of textbooks used in Japanese community in Brazil, this series of Nippongo consists in contents of those before the World War II, such as a large quantity of Chinese characters and its focus on the reading. However, it is observed adaption of new approach such as the use of loan word from Portugues and of texts which treat wide topics, for example, about Brazil.

The aim of the study was to examine how the newspaper Aftonbladet reported the accusation on the journalist Fredrik Virtanen concerning sexual harassment and rape. He was at the time of the accusations employed at Aftonbladet as a chronicler and columnist. Aftonbladet has been criticized for inadequate coverage of the case. The main questions this study examined are: How and what did Aftonbladet report regarding one of their own journalists being accused for sexual harrassment? And how did the reporting comply with the editorial policy at Aftonbladet? The method of the study was a case study and critical discourse analysis, with the aim to examine news and whether the newspaper followed its editorial policy. The main theme listed in the texts published by Aftonbladet was that an Aftonbladet employee was accused for rape. Additional themes where discourses regarding the work environment at Aftonbladet and a moral discourse regarding the ethics of publishing names and reporting openly about the accusations. Other accusations than rape are not mentioned in Aftonbladet, except in one article regarding an interview with Fredrik Virtanen. Further, the published texts mainly consists of opinions and interviews of management at Aftonbladet, including Fredrik Virtanen. Thus, Aftonbladet has reported the case one-sidedly. The message mediated in texts regarding press ethics and news prioritation is that the case was primarly treated as a staff issue rather than news. The criticism directed against Aftonbladet regarding lack of news reporting and openness has been answered by Aftonbladet with reference to the fact that the newspaper follows the press ethics and publishing rules.  However, it can be determined that Aftonbladet, despite its reference to press ethics, did not follow its own editorial policy when reporting the case.
