Torka och svält på 61 minuter : En kvantitativ studie om katastrofbevakningen på Afrikas horn 2011 i Ekot och TV4 Nyheterna

Andersson, Dennis, Järvestad, Johan January 2012 (has links)

: En begriplighetsanalytisk jämförelse mellan Ekot och P3 Nyheter / Did you catch that? : A comprehension analytical comparison of Ekot and P3 Nyheter

Edsö, Maja, Jennische, Johanna January 2012 (has links)
In this study we compare Ekot with P3 Nyheter with a comprehension analytical perspective. The more traditional radio news program Ekot differs from the younger P3 Nyheter in a lot of aspects. One of them is that P3 Nyheter’s primary target group is young people between the ages of 20 to 34. Because of this, P3 Nyheter aim to make their news as adjusted to their young audience as possible. We wondered whether this adaption to please their audience had impact on the comprehension, and wanted to compare P3 Nyheter with Ekot, who does not have a targeted audience but aim to make themselves comprehensible to as many as possible. However, the comprehension analysis was insufficient to us, and we decided to analyze our transcribed newscasts using text analysis as well in order to be able to analyze concepts that the comprehension analysis does not cover, but that we thought was important in our study. We also interviewed representatives from Ekot and P3 Nyheter, to see how they saw their mission and target audience.                       Our study shows that the different news programs practically had the same level of potential comprehension. They had different comprehension obstacles, but neither was better than the other. Thus, the comprehension did not improve despite P3 Nyheter’s adaption to their target group. However, the comprehension did not decline due to the adaption either. P3 Nyheter give their audience so called “infotainment” in a higher degree than Ekot by choosing news items that are closer to entertainment than information. Ekot on the other hand often presents a greater number of news in their newscasts, but rarely illustrate with sounds. The two programs also differ greatly in their vocabulary.

Välkommen till Rapport, men först, det här är Dagens Eko : En kvantitativ innehållsanalys om vilka nyhetsgenrer som får plats i SVT:s Rapport kontra SR:s Ekot. / Welcome to Rapport, but first, this is Dagens Eko : A quantitative content analysis of which news genres are presented in SVT:s Rapport versus SR:s Ekot.

Karlsson, Simon January 2022 (has links)
The aim of the study is to see what topics the news programmes Rapport on Swedish Television and Ekot on Swedish Radio report on in their broadcasts and to see how different news genres take their place in the programmes. Rapport and Ekot are two of Sweden's biggest news programmes and I want to analyse what is similar in their broadcasts and what is different. The study has been conducted on seven different broadcasts from each medium, which means that the sample amounts to 14 broadcasts from Rapport at 18.00 on SVT (SVT1) and Ekot at 16.45 on SR (P1 and P4). The broadcasts are taken from a period of seven months. I have investigated which news genres is featured in each broadcast and, in particular, studied which news genres are generally the three most common. Furthermore, I have studied how much space news stories, telegrams and commentaries get in comparison to each other. I have also studied how much time covid-19 and the weather get in the news broadcasts compared to other news. The results showed that both SVT and SR spend a lot of time on news stories. Furthermore, the study showed that Rapport reports more on the pandemic, while Ekot focuses more on foreign news. The study also showed that crime news is often top news along with news about politics. News about the weather forecast is more featured on TV than on radio, according to my study on my analysis units.

"Ingen tror på Åkesson" : En jämförande studie om kvällspressens och public service rapportering om Sverigedemokraterna inför valet 2014 / "No one believes in Åkesson" : A comparative study on the evening press and the public service reporting on the Swedish Democrats before the 2014 election

Nordenhem, Susanna, Laurila, Malin January 2015 (has links)
No one believes in Åkesson - a comparative study on the evening press and the public service reporting on the Swedish Democrats before the 2014 election. The purpose of this essay was to study how Aftonbladet and Ekot reports about the Swedish Democrats before the election 2014, as well as comparing the two medias and reasoning about their agendas towards the party. The tabloid, Aftonbladet, is one of the biggest newspapers in Sweden, which depends on counter sales and commercials. Ekot, which is a part of public service, is state-funded and regulated by certain guidelines. Using a quantitative method we studied 80 articles, and through a qualitative method, six of the articles were analyzed to reach a deeper understanding. The theories primary used in this study were agenda-setting and framing, to stress the power of media. As well as political communication, to examine whether the Swedish Democrats are portrayed according to the democratics ideals of what kind of information journalism should provide citizens before an election. The result showed that the politics of the Swedish Democrats was rarely applied in the news articles. It also showed that both Aftonbladet and Ekot tended to portray the political party with a primary negative agenda. The Swedish Democrats were often described as racists, ignorant and irresponsible. Although Ekot proved to be a bit more restrict in their reporting, there were little differences in how both media presented the politcal party. Although the Swedish Democrats has taken on costumes instead of bomber jackets, and has an office in the Swedish Parliament, they still in 2014 aren’t neutralised or portraid as a serious political alternative, in either Aftonbladet nor Ekot.
