A formação de engenheiros em Pernambuco : algumas histórias / The schooling of engineers at Pernambuco State : some stories

Pautados em autores da História Cultural, especialmente em Carlo Ginzburg, buscamos rastros, no sentido atribuído por este autor, que nos ajudaram a construir "o fio do relato" e a nos orientar "no labirinto da realidade" (GINZBURG, 2007, p. 7). Para compor o fio das narrativas, utilizamos rastros deixados em diversos tipos de documentos, como livros, entrevistas, artigos, textos oficiais e escolares, encontrados em diferentes lugares de memória. Os rastros encontrados nos levaram à produção de três textos independentes, que não têm como fio condutor a cronologia. No primeiro deles, adentramos no universo da engenharia no Brasil, buscando identificar tipos diferentes de formação de engenheiros. No segundo texto, composto de duas partes, apresentamos duas narrativas históricas, uma centrada em memórias institucionais e outra em memórias de alguns personagens que fizeram parte do cotidiano da Escola de Engenharia de Pernambuco. O terceiro texto centra sua atenção nas discussões teórico-filosóficas que ocorriam nas primeiras décadas do século XX, particularmente, na visão de Luiz de Barros Freire, que foi aluno, professor e diretor da EEP / Abstract: The central objective of this investigation was to study the characteristics of engineers civil-math teachers¿ formation, by Engineering School of Pernambuco State, during the late 19th century and early 20th century. Based on authors of Cultural History, especially Carlo Ginzburg, we look for traces, in the sense attributed by this author, who helped us to build "thread of narration" and guided us "in the labyrinth of reality" (GINZBURG, 2012, p. 1). To compose the thread of the narrative, we use traces left in several types of documents, such as books, interviews, articles, official and educational texts, found in different places of memory. These traces led us to produce three independent texts, which do not have chronology as their guiding principle. In the first one, we enter the universe of engineering in Brazil, seeking to identify different types of training to engineers. The second text, composed of two parts, we present two historical narratives, one centered on institutional memories and the other on memories of some characters who were part of the daily life of the Engineering School. The third text focuses on theoretical-philosophical discussions that occurred in the first decades of the 20th century, particularly, in the vision of Luiz de Barros Freire, who was a student, a teacher and Director of the EEP / Mestrado / Ensino e Práticas Culturais / Mestre em Educação / CAPES

Les formations à l'innovation entre tradition et rupture / Innovation training between tradition and rupture

Dans un contexte actuel où l'on parle de marché mondial de l'enseignement supérieur et où le thème de l'innovation est devenu omniprésent dans les objectifs des établissements d'enseignement professionnel, la formation à l'innovation est un enjeu particulièrement stratégique. Notre recherche s'interroge sur la réalisation de cet enseignement dans les établissements. Une formation à l'innovation peut-elle se faire dans le cadre de l'enseignement présent, fruit d'une tradition où l'innovation n'avait pas son statut actuel, ou exige-t-elle une rupture avec cette tradition ?Après avoir défini notre objet de recherche et précisé les concepts d'innovation, de formation et de tradition), nous avons construit à travers une démarche théorique et empirique un cadre d'analyse et d'évaluation des formations à l'innovation pour réaliser des études de cas décrivant les processus pédagogique et organisationnel à l'œuvre dans les deux voies choisies : intégration ou rupture. Nous montrons que l'application de ce cadre d'analyse à plusieurs de ces formations indique comme résultat que la formation à l'innovation repose sur l'engagement des apprenants dans un travail de construction de leur identité d'innovateur. D’où la problématique à laquelle cette thèse cherche à répondre : l'innovation peut-elle être considérée comme une matière à enseigner (acquisition de savoirs et de pratiques) ou repose-t-elle plutôt sur la construction d'une identité spécifique de l’apprenant ? La formation à l’innovation consisterait alors à accompagner par un dispositif adapté (que nous appelons environnement émancipant) la construction identitaire de l'innovateur. / In a mondial competitive environnement in which the educational institutions are living today with objectives of training innovative people, innovation training is a critical subject. How do these institutions are going to train innovators ? Does an innovation training can be included in a traditional pedagogical system ? Or a rupture would be logical and necessary ?After defining our research subject and specifying the concepts of innovation, training and tradition, we propose a framework for the analysis and evaluation of training courses in innovation. We apply this framework in case studies which describe integrative or breaking-off processes, from both the pedagogical and organizational perspectives. The application of this analytical framework to several of these training courses suggests that training in innovation relies on the commitment of the trainees to the building of their identity as an innovator. Consequently, this thesis attempts to answer the following question: can innovation be considered as a topic to be taught (through the acquisition of knowledge and practices by the trainee) or does it rather rely on the construction of a specific identity by the trainee? In the latter case, training for innovation should focus on supporting the construction of their identity by the innovator through the use of an adequate system that we call ‘emancipating environment’.

Eduardo Kneese de Mello: do eclético ao moderno / Eduardo Kneese de Mello: from ecletic to modern

O objeto principal desta tese se constitui a partir da apresentação e da análise dos projetos residenciais elaborados pelo arquiteto Eduardo Kneese de Mello (1906-1994) ao longo de sua carreira na cidade de São Paulo. Para compreender as principais características de suas obras, julgou-se necessário investigar sua formação com base nos dois principais cursos de Arquitetura oferecidos nesta cidade - Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo e Escola de Engenharia do Mackenzie College - durante as primeiras décadas do século XX. Busca-se, dessa maneira, a possibilidade de comprovar uma das premissas desta pesquisa, na qual se crê que a primeira etapa da trajetória profissional de Kneese de Mello está relacionada aos aprendizados advindos de sua formação universitária. O desenvolvimento do trabalho, como se verá, revelou que muitos destes conhecimentos e modos de conceber permaneceram em sua obra mesmo depois de sua propalada conversão aos preceitos do Movimento Moderno. Apresentamos e analisamos, portanto, uma série de residências projetadas pelo arquiteto. A maior parte da produção analisada (39 projetos dos 45 selecionados para o estudo de casos) está vinculada ao Ecletismo tardio dos anos de 1930 e 1940, quando as famílias paulistanas de maior poder aquisitivo apreciavam a reprodução de padrões estilísticos, por compreendê-los como sinônimos de progresso e status social e por expressarem uma identificação social com os hábitos das metrópoles europeias e, posteriormente, com os padrões e modos de morar estadunidenses. Os outros seis projetos representam a segunda etapa de sua trajetória profissional e se relacionam diretamente aos princípios da Arquitetura Moderna. Por fim, procura-se, pelo percurso realizado no estudo das obras do arquiteto, compreender como ocorreu o período de transição apontando algumas das convergências e analogias, semelhanças e discrepâncias, inovações e continuidades nas formas do arquiteto conceber a arquitetura. / The major purpose of this thesis has originated from the presentation and assessment of the residential designs of Architect Eduardo Kneese de Mello (1906-1994) along his career in the city of São Paulo. In order to understand the main features of his work, we deemed necessary to explore his academic background based on the two major Architecture courses existing in this city - Polytechnic School of the University of Sao Paulo - (Escola Politécnica da Universidade de São Paulo) and School of Engineering of Mackenzie University (Escola de Engenharia da Universidade Mackenzie) - during the two first decades of the 20th century. We did this trying to reach the possibility to evidence one of the premises of this survey, that is based on the fact that the first stage of the professional path of Kneese de Mello is related to the learning obtained from his university studies. The development of the work, as may be seen, has revealed that many of such knowledge and means of creating have remained in his work even after his well-known conversion to the precepts of the Modern Movement. We do then present and assess a series of residences designed by the Architect. Most of the production assessed (39 designs out of the 45 selected for the case studies) is linked to the late Eclecticism of the 1930s and 1940s, when wealthier families from Sao Paulo liked the reproduction of stylistic standards, seeing them as a synonym of progress and social status and for the fact that they express a social identification with the lifestyle of European metropolis and further, with American standards and way of life. The other six designs represent a second stage of his professional path and are related directly to the foundations of the Modern Architecture. Ultimately, we search for the path taken in the survey of the work of the Architect, to understand how the transition period took place, pointing out some convergence and analogies, similarities and discrepancies, innovation and continuity in the ways the Architect conceived Architecture.

A busca de um ideário urbanístico no início do século XX : der Städtebau e a Escola de Engenharia de Porto Alegre

Das wichtigste Vorhaben dieser Doktorarbeit ist die Erfassung und Erörterung der Vermittlerrolle der Escola de Engenharia de Porto Alegre in den Jahren 1896 bis 1930 bei der Übernahme von in Deutschland ungefähr ab Mitte des 19. Jh. vebreiteten Ideen zur Städtebau. Die Arbeit trägt insofern zur Diskussion der wichtigsten Gedankenansätze die in Deutschland zu Stadt und Städtebau entwickelt wurden bei, als sie erläutert wodurch diese Nation zum Vorreiter in einem von durch den Industrialisierungsprozess verursachten Problemen geprägten Szenarium wurde. Das Städtebau-Konzept wurde in diesem Zusammenhang ausgiebig genutzt, in Anlehnung an die noch junge Disziplin die der Erbauung der Stadt gewidmet war. Da sich die Arbeit mit Porto Alegre befasst, beschreibt sie die Stadt im Kontext kurz vor und nach der letzten Jahrhundertwende wobei angestrebt wird, die starke deutsche Prägung und den daraus resultierneden Kulturaustausch in Verbindung mit der sozioökonomischen Entwicklung der Landeshauptstadt zu bringen. Davon ausgehend macht sich die Arbeit die Escola de Engenharia de Porto Alegre und ihre Ingenieure, zur Zeit der República Velha zu Nutze um die historischen Erzählstränge zusammenführen zu können, indem sowohl ihre Beziehungen zum Deutschen als auch die Lehre was städtebauliche Fragen betrifft beleuchtet werden. Um belegen zu können dass deutsche Städtebau-Ideen über die Schule eingeführt wurden, wird untersucht welche Ansichten kursierten und auf welche Weise oder über welche Träger sie bis zu ihr gelangten. Abschliessend stellt die Arbeit Persönlichkeiten vor die sowohl direkt mit der Escola de Engenharia als auch unmittelbar mit deutschem Gedankengut in Kontakt kamen und analysiert den Beitrag dieser Personen zur Verbreitung dieses Gedankenguts in Porto Alegre. / O objetivo principal desta tese é compreender e discutir o papel da Escola de Engenharia de Porto Alegre, entre os anos de 1896 e 1930, como um canal para a introdução das ideias sobre a construção de cidades, segundo o urbanismo difundido na Alemanha, a partir de meados do século XIX. Para tanto, o trabalho traz à discussão as principais ideias sobre a cidade e sobre o urbanismo desenvolvidas na Alemanha, para compreender o que levou esta nação a se tornar protagonista em um cenário constituído por problemas causados pelo processo de industrialização. O conceito der Städtebau foi intensamente utilizado neste contexto, em referência à nova disciplina relativa à construção de cidades. Em se tratando da cidade de Porto Alegre, o trabalho apresenta o seu contexto, em fins do século XIX e início do século XX, procurando correlacionar a forte presença teuta com o desenvolvimento sócio-econômico da capital, assim como com as trocas culturais. A partir disso, o estudo adota a Escola de Engenharia de Porto Alegre e seus engenheiros, no período da República Velha, como meio de conduzir a narrativa histórica, analisando as correlações da Escola, tanto com a presença teuta, quanto com as questões urbanas. A fim de verificar a presença de ideias sobre o urbanismo germânico através da Escola, a pesquisa investiga quais as ideias que circularam, assim como os meios ou veículos pelos quais estas ideias chegaram até ela. Por fim, a pesquisa identifica personagens que, por um lado, criaram vínculos com a Escola de Engenharia, e, por outro, tiveram contato com o ideário germânico, e analisa as contribuições destes personagens com a difusão deste ideário em Porto Alegre. / The main objective of this thesis is to understand and discuss the role of the School of Engineering from Porto Alegre, between the years 1896 and 1930, as a channel for the introduction of ideas about the construction of cities, according to the urbanism widespread in Germany, from the mid-nineteenth century. Thus, the work brings to discussion the main ideas about the city and the urbanism developed in Germany to understand what led this nation to be a protagonist in a scenario constituted by problems caused by the industrialization process. The concept der Städtebau was used extensively in this context in reference to the new discipline on the construction of cities. In the case of Porto Alegre, the paper presents its context, in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, trying to correlate the strong Germanic presence with the socio-economic development of the capital, as well as with its cultural exchanges. From this, the study adopts the School of Engineering from Porto Alegre and its engineers in the period of the Old Republic, as a means of conducting historical narrative, analyzing the correlations of the School, both with the Germanic presence, as with urban issues. In order to verify the presence of the Germanic ideas about urbanism throughout the School, the research investigates which ideas circulated, as well as the means or vehicles by which these ideas have come to it. Finally, the research identifies characters that, on one side, established links with the School of Engineering, and, on the other, had contact with the Germanic ideology, and analyzes the contributions of these characters to the spreading of this ideology in Porto Alegre.

Abschliessend stellt die Arbeit Persönlichkeiten vor die sowohl direkt mit der Escola de Engenharia als auch unmittelbar mit deutschem Gedankengut in Kontakt kamen und analysiert den Beitrag dieser Personen zur Verbreitung dieses Gedankenguts in Porto Alegre. / O objetivo principal desta tese é compreender e discutir o papel da Escola de Engenharia de Porto Alegre, entre os anos de 1896 e 1930, como um canal para a introdução das ideias sobre a construção de cidades, segundo o urbanismo difundido na Alemanha, a partir de meados do século XIX. Para tanto, o trabalho traz à discussão as principais ideias sobre a cidade e sobre o urbanismo desenvolvidas na Alemanha, para compreender o que levou esta nação a se tornar protagonista em um cenário constituído por problemas causados pelo processo de industrialização. O conceito der Städtebau foi intensamente utilizado neste contexto, em referência à nova disciplina relativa à construção de cidades. Em se tratando da cidade de Porto Alegre, o trabalho apresenta o seu contexto, em fins do século XIX e início do século XX, procurando correlacionar a forte presença teuta com o desenvolvimento sócio-econômico da capital, assim como com as trocas culturais. A partir disso, o estudo adota a Escola de Engenharia de Porto Alegre e seus engenheiros, no período da República Velha, como meio de conduzir a narrativa histórica, analisando as correlações da Escola, tanto com a presença teuta, quanto com as questões urbanas. A fim de verificar a presença de ideias sobre o urbanismo germânico através da Escola, a pesquisa investiga quais as ideias que circularam, assim como os meios ou veículos pelos quais estas ideias chegaram até ela. Por fim, a pesquisa identifica personagens que, por um lado, criaram vínculos com a Escola de Engenharia, e, por outro, tiveram contato com o ideário germânico, e analisa as contribuições destes personagens com a difusão deste ideário em Porto Alegre. / The main objective of this thesis is to understand and discuss the role of the School of Engineering from Porto Alegre, between the years 1896 and 1930, as a channel for the introduction of ideas about the construction of cities, according to the urbanism widespread in Germany, from the mid-nineteenth century. Thus, the work brings to discussion the main ideas about the city and the urbanism developed in Germany to understand what led this nation to be a protagonist in a scenario constituted by problems caused by the industrialization process. The concept der Städtebau was used extensively in this context in reference to the new discipline on the construction of cities. In the case of Porto Alegre, the paper presents its context, in the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century, trying to correlate the strong Germanic presence with the socio-economic development of the capital, as well as with its cultural exchanges. From this, the study adopts the School of Engineering from Porto Alegre and its engineers in the period of the Old Republic, as a means of conducting historical narrative, analyzing the correlations of the School, both with the Germanic presence, as with urban issues. In order to verify the presence of the Germanic ideas about urbanism throughout the School, the research investigates which ideas circulated, as well as the means or vehicles by which these ideas have come to it. Finally, the research identifies characters that, on one side, established links with the School of Engineering, and, on the other, had contact with the Germanic ideology, and analyzes the contributions of these characters to the spreading of this ideology in Porto Alegre.

В диссертации рассмотрены теоретические аспекты и практические возможности внедрения инновационных технологий в процесс обучения старшеклассников в рамках инженерной школы. Исследован уровень мотивации старшеклассников к поступлению в технические вузы. На основе проведенного исследования, выявлена потребность в формировании устойчивого профессионального интереса старшеклассников к освоению технической специальности для последующей успешной карьеры в производственной сфере. Разработан проект по созданию инженерной школы как наиболее эффективной инновационной формы профильного обучения и профессиональной ориентации старшеклассников. / The dissertation examines the theoretical aspects and practical possibilities of introducing innovative technologies in the process of teaching high school students in the engineering school. The level of motivation of high school students to enter technical universities is studied. Based on the conducted research, the need for the formation of a stable professional interest of high school students in the development of a technical specialty for a subsequent successful career in the industrial sphere is revealed. A project has been developed to create an engineering school as the most effective innovative form of specialized training and professional orientation for high school students.

Актуальность темы связана с изменениями, происходящими в мире инженерии, современными трендами и тенденциями в образовании, что приводит к необходимости трансформации классических образовательных моделей. На первое место выходит исследовательская деятельность, расширенный набор сложных, разносторонних и высокопрофессиональных компетенций, которые возможно получить в магистратуре в рамках передовых инженерных школ. Цель – разработать комплекс мероприятий для обеспечения интеграции новой модели инженерного бакалавриата и магистратуры Передовой инженерной школы УрФУ. Объект – образовательные программы передовой инженерной школы УрФУ. Новизна исследования: разработка комплекса мероприятий для интеграции нового инженерного бакалавриата в программы магистратуры ПИШ, особенность которых состоит в обеспечении преемственности учебных целей и задач, знаний и навыков, а также технологий обучения на каждой образовательной ступени. Практическая значимость: разработанные мероприятия, могут применяться в разных учебных заведениях в рамках реализации программ ПИШ. Основным достигаемым эффектом станет увеличение численности контингента обучающихся магистратуры очной формы обучения до 30% от количества выпускников бакалавриата. При этом ожидается увеличение объёма поступлений от НИОКР на 21,7%. / The relevance of the topic is related to the changes taking place in the world of engineering, modern trends and trends in education, which leads to the need to transform classical educational models. Research activity, an expanded set of complex, versatile and highly professional competencies that can be obtained in the master’s program within the framework of advanced engineering schools come out on top. The aim is to develop a set of measures to ensure the integration of a new model of engineering bachelor’s degree and master’s degree of the Advanced Engineering School of UrFU. The object is the educational programs of the Advanced Engineering School of UrFU. The novelty of the research: the development of a set of measures for the integration of a new engineering bachelor’s degree in the master’s degree programs of the Advanced Engineering School; the peculiarity of which is to ensure the continuity of educational goals and objectives, knowledge and skills, as well as learning technologies at each educational stage. Practical significance: the developed measures can be applied in different educational institutions within the framework of the implementation of Advanced Engineering School programs. The main effect achieved will be an increase in the number of full-time master’s degree students to 30% of the number of bachelor’s graduates. At the same time, it is expected to increase the volume of R&D revenues by 21.7%.
