O CASAL GILCHRIST E A VIDA DE UM PINTOR DESCONHECIDO: O GÊNERO BIOGRAFIA E A RECEPÇÃO DA OBRA DE WILLIAM BLAKE NO SÉCULO 19 / THE GILCHRISTS AND THE LIFE OF AN UNKNOWN PAINTER: THE BIOGRAPHY GENRE AND THE RECEPTION OF WILLIAM BLAKE S WORKS IN THE 19TH CENTURY

Canto, Daniela Schwarcke do 16 December 2015 (has links)
This study has as main objective to analyze the biography of William Blake: dreamed and researched by Alexander Gilchrist and finished by his wife Anne Gilchrist and by the painter and writer Dante Gabriel Rossetti. Considered a mad genius that talked to spirits by a great part of his contemporaries, William Blake became known only after his death, in 1827, for his works as a poet, painter and engraver. In a first moment, a short biography of Alexander Gilchristis presented, as well as of the others involved in the writing of the biography Life of William Blake: Pictor Ignotus. In the second chapter, an analysis is conducted on what Gilchrist wrote about Blake s technical side and his educational background. The third chapter is about the visionary Blake, and how these episodes are portrayed in the Gilchrist s biography. In the last chapter, a parallelis traced between what Alexander Gilchrist wrote in his biography and what five authors before him wrote on Blake. These authors are: Cunningham, J. T. Smith, Malkin, Tatham and Crabb Robinson. In this way, we intend to reach a hypothesis on which authors were used as sources by Gilchrist to write Life of William Blake: Pictor Ignotus. Life of William Blake: Pictor Ignotus. Life of William Blake: Pictor Ignotus.

CNC Engraver : Precision and flexibility of a miniature CNC engraver / CNC Gravyrmaskin : Precision och användningsområden hos småskalig CNC gravyrmaskin

Booberg, Rasmus, Borgén, Martin January 2022 (has links)
This report documents the design and construction of a computer-controlled engraver (CNC engraver). Whereas most common machines used for this purpose are dimensioned towards milling, this project aims to create a dedicated engraver which could be of reduced size and complexity in comparison to standard CNC routers. This is partly because engraving imparts no need for a spindle motor, and that the machine only needs to withstand forces related to engraving, which are often significantly smaller than those present when milling. The proposed construction is designed towards use on aluminium and retains about the size of a laptop computer. Additionally, it should allow for engraving on material of almost any size, which is not a common feature in CNC machines. The design uses Arduino and open-source software to generate and execute G-code and is built with off-the-shelf components as well as both 3D-printed and machined components. Key conclusions are that it is indeed possible to make such a machine and that it could fulfil some useful purposes, even if the prototype, as built, has some issues with structural rigidity and therefore the final tolerances of the engraving. These issues primarily stem from the assembly supporting the Z-Axis and engraving bit, which lacks the stiffness needed for desirable results. Taking the fairly low complexity of the build and the price tag of under 2000 SEK in consideration, the prospects are deemed as promising.

Koncept för automatiserad produktmärkning / Concept for automated product labeling

Byhlin, Axel January 2023 (has links)
Indexator is a world-leading company that develops and manufactures hydraulic rotators and hose swivels. A hose swivel is a hose coupling that can rotate freely around its own axis. During production he hose swivel currently has a semiautomatic marking process, where an operator often must load a laser engraver. Indexator wishes to streamline this process. This study aims to develop a concept for a more efficient process through automation that will free personnel from non-value added activities. First, three concept proposals were developed based on theories of efficiency in industry, such as Toyota production systems, Lean, Six Sigma, and 5s. The concept proposals were limited to primarily developing the function of the process. In collaboration with Indexator, the three concept proposals were scored in a comparison table to choose one of the concepts to develop further. The concept proposal chosen for further development was one with a robot arm that loads the laser engraver and an automatic magazine that supplies the robotarm with hose swivels. The developed concept proposal will free the operator from the machine for one hour before the magazine needs to be refilled. Today’s process frees the operator for 2.5 min per load. The concept will also eliminate 75 min of non-value added work. The concepts magazine capacity is large enough to handle half of the average marking per day, which means that the magazine needs to be reloaded once per day. Compared to today´s process that requires to be loaded approximately 30 times a day because the process lacks a magazine. Dagens process frigör operatören i 2.5 min per laddning.
