Thus, we prepared a set with twelve activities, starting by the comparison between measures, presenting afterward some of the meanings of fractions and ending with the operations between fractions. For so much, use has been made of materials available for use in the classroom, of forma ludic, for resolution of challenges proposed. Through these activities, it becomes possible students to recognize the necessity of using fractions for solve a amount larger of problems / O objetivo deste trabalho se constitui na cria??o de uma proposta de atividades, na disciplina de matem?tica, para o 6? ano do Ensino Fundamental, que estimule os estudantes a desenvolver a aprendizagem do conte?do de fra??es, a partir da conscientiza??o da insufici?ncia dos n?meros naturais para resolver diversos problemas. It also assessed the performace of a chlorophyll meter, as an indirect estimate of green dry matter production, and chemical bromatological traits fo the grass. This study was carried out during the period of november 2008 to january 2009, on Haplic Planosol at the campus of the Rural Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. Experimental design was a randomized block desing with four repetitions. Main treatments consisted of N rates allocated in the plots and cutting number were allocated in the sbplots. There are three levels of N soil : low N; represented by soil N, medium N: 75 N / ha / cut, and high N: 150 kg N / ha / cut. Herbage harvested twice, the first on November 30 and the second 29 days later. Cutting dates were determined according to data from canopy light interception. In the first study results showed that N rates increased green dry matter and the crude protein CP per cent in the forage and decreased asid detergent fibrous fraction contents. It was also verified the feasibility of using a chlorophyll meter as a probe for CP content and forage availability. In a second study it was verified that N fertilization showed no consistent results in regard to crude protein fractions with the sole exception of C fraction (%CP), that increased with increasing N availability. / Objetivou-se com este experimento avaliar o valor nutritivo do capim Tifton-85 (Cynodon spp) em resposta ? aplica??o de diferentes n?veis de nitrog?nio (N), com base na composi??o qu?mico bromatol?gica e nas fra??es nitrogenadas e de carboidratos, utilizando-se o sistema desenvolvido na Universidade de Cornell (The Cornell Net Carbohydrate and Protein System - CNCPS). Avaliou-se tamb?m o desempenho de um clorofilometro, como estimador indireto das disponibilidades de forragem, e das caracter?sticas qu?mico bromatol?gicas do capim. O experimento foi realizado durante o per?odo novembro de 2008 a janeiro de 2009, no campus da Universidade Federal Rural do Rio de Janeiro, utilizando-se um Planossolo H?plico. Os tratamentos constitu?ram-se de doses de N, na forma de ur?ia e de n?mero de cortes. Foram definidos tr?s n?veis de N: baixo, representado pelo N do solo; m?dio: 75 de N/ha/corte; e alto: 150 kg de N/ha/corte. Foram realizados dois cortes, o primeiro em 30/11/2008 e o segundo 29 dias ap?s. As datas dos cortes foram determinadas de acordo com dados de intercepta??o luminosa dos doss?is. O delineamento experimental foi em blocos casualizados, com quatro repeti??es, em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, com as doses de N alocadas nas parcelas e a seq??ncia de cortes na subparcela. No primeiro estudo, verificou-se que a aduba??o nitrogenada aumentou a produ??o de massa verde seca e os teores de PB da forragem e reduziu os teores das fra??es fibrosas em detergente ?cido, mostrando ainda a factibilidade do uso do clorofil?metro como um estimador indireto da produ??o de forragem e dos teores de PB na mesma. No segundo estudo, verificou-se que a aduba??o nitrogenada n?o apresentou resultados consistentes quando relacionada ?s fra??es prot?icas e nitrogenadas, com a exce??o da fra??o C (%PB) que respondeu positivamente.

An?lise de uma proposta construtivista de ensino de fra??es por meio da resolu??o de problemas

The aim of the research was to evaluate students learning about fractions from problem solving in a constructivist perspective. The methodological approach was qualitative. The research instruments consisted of two questionnaires. The first, involving knowledge of fractions was applied before starting the activities and reapplied a semester after their conclusion, in the classroom. The second questionnaire allowed the assessment of pupils about their work. Other research instruments were the exercises performed by students and the daily lesson with systematic records made by the teacher. All data were subjected to a Discoursive Textual Analysis. Before explaining the analysis, the text reports on activities of the fractions which were developed from previous knowledge of students.The results indicate limited initial knowledge about fractions, interested and enthusiastic participation of students in class, good performance in school evaluation on the topic and persistence on the topic of learning after a semester of performing activities. On the analysis of students about their work, they stressed the interactivity and practical aspects related to the theory, consistent with the resolution of problems through a constructivist approach. Most students said they did not find related difficulties and the importance of sharing the work that must have with other people as well as helping others and solidarity. The results of the evaluation made by students are consistent with the philosophy of the school. / Esta disserta??o apresenta a an?lise de um trabalho realizado em sala de aula, com uma turma de 5? s?rie do Ensino Fundamental, em uma escola particular no munic?pio de Anta Gorda, no Rio Grande do Sul. O objetivo geral da pesquisa foi avaliar a aprendizagem dos alunos sobre fra??es a partir da resolu??o de problemas numa perspectiva construtivista. A abordagem metodol?gica foi predominantemente qualitativa. Os instrumentos de pesquisa consistiram em dois question?rios. O primeiro, envolvendo conhecimentos sobre fra??es, foi aplicado antes de iniciar as atividades e reaplicado um semestre ap?s a conclus?o das mesmas, em sala de aula. O segundo question?rio possibilitou a avalia??o dos alunos sobre o trabalho desenvolvido. Outros instrumentos de pesquisa foram os exerc?cios realizados pelos alunos e o di?rio de aula com registros sistem?ticos feitos pelo professor. Todos os dados obtidos foram submetidos a uma An?lise Textual Discursiva. Antes de explicitar a an?lise, o texto apresenta o relato das atividades sobre fra??es, que foram desenvolvidas a partir dos conhecimentos pr?vios dos alunos.Os resultados obtidos indicam escassos conhecimentos iniciais sobre fra??es, participa??o interessada e entusiasmada dos alunos nas aulas, bom desempenho na avalia??o escolar sobre o tema e persist?ncia da aprendizagem depois de decorrido um semestre da realiza??o das atividades. Quanto ? avalia??o dos alunos sobre o trabalho desenvolvido, eles destacaram a interatividade e aspectos pr?ticos relacionados ? teoria, coerentes com a resolu??o de problemas mediante um enfoque construtivista. A maioria dos alunos declarou n?o ter encontrado dificuldades e relacionou a import?ncia desse trabalho ? partilha que se deve ter com as outras pessoas, bem como a ajuda ao pr?ximo e a solidariedade. Os resultados da avalia??o feita pelos alunos s?o coerentes com a filosofia da escola.

Coordena??o de Aperfei?oamento de Pessoal de N?vel Superior / To meet growing demand for goods and services of modern society there is an increase in industrial activity, is highlighting the versatility of steel for use of its products. Meanwhile, as well as all human activity there is the generation of waste that may contain contaminants, among these heavy metals, which are arranged in an inappropriate manner pose a risk to humans and other living organisms. In soil heavy metals can exist in different chemical forms, presented each of them a degree of availability, and the total content of an indication of soil contamination. The phytoremediation is a technique of bioremediation, which uses the cultivation of plants to remediate contaminated soil and water, either by the extraction (phytoextraction) or stabilization (phytostabilization) of the contaminant in the environment. The objective was to evaluate the effect of the culture of Pennisetum purpurem Schum., the distribution of chemical fractions of zinc and cadmium in the soil, in three of pH values, after contamination with industrial waste containing high levels of these elements, and their possible influence germination and development of the plant. It was conducted in a completely randomized experiment 2x2x3 factorial system, in a sample of Bt horizon of a Argisol Yellow, contaminated and not contaminated with residue from Cia Mercantile and Industrial Ing?, with and without cultivation of Pennisetum purpurem Schum., and receiving the application of three doses of CaCO3. The soil used was collected in the municipality of Pinheiral - RJ, being part of the sample contaminated with waste (66.67 g kg-1) to raise the level pseudo-Zn total of the values above 1500 mg kg-1. The sample was contaminated and not contaminated divided into three groups each received a different dose of CaCO3 (0.00, 0,75; 1,5 mg kg-1). After being incubated for 40 days to 80% of the field capacity, there were planted three Seedpieces of Pennisetum purpurem Schum., genotype Cameroon, in each unit cultivated. At 18 days after planting and germination were evaluated at the average height of the seedlings. At 135 days after planting were collected to shoot and root plants. The substrates were sampled after hatching and at the end of the experiment. In substrates was determined the pH in water and, for the treatments that received waste, the levels of Zn and Cd in the following fractions: soluble (F1), exchangeable (F2), precipitated (F3), absorbed more strongly (F4) and residual (F5). The extractors used to determine the fractions were: deionized water, MgCl2, acetic acid, DTPA and aqua regia. The results showed that the germination and development of Pennisetum purpurem Schum. were limited by the content of Cd and mainly in fractions of Zn more bioavailable (F1, F2). The levels of Zn in the soluble fraction (F1) exceeding 125 mg kg-1, caused a reduction in the germination and the initial development of culture. The cultivation of Pennisetum purpureum Schum. promoted reduction of soil pH of all treatments, and favored the solubility of Zn of contaminated substrates. Leaf contents of Zn greater than 1380 mg kg-1 caused sharp reduction in growth and phytotoxicity symptoms. The Pennisetum purpureum Schum did not show a behavior as plants hyperaccumulative of Zn and Cd, but they showed Zn accumulation and they were efficient in the remediation of Zn and Cd. / Para atender a demanda crescente por bens e servi?os da sociedade moderna houve um incremento da atividade industrial, se destacando a siderurgia pela versatilidade de emprego dos seus produtos. Entretanto, assim como toda atividade humana h? a gera??o de res?duos que podem conter contaminantes, dentre estes os metais pesados, que se dispostos de forma inadequada representam um risco a o homem e outros organismos vivos. Em solos os metais pesados podem existir em diferentes formas qu?micas, apresentando cada uma delas um grau de disponibilidade, sendo o teor total um indicativo de contamina??o do solo. A fitorremedia??o ? uma t?cnica da bioremedia??o, que utiliza o cultivo de plantas para remediar solos e ?guas contaminadas, seja pela extra??o (fitoextra??o) ou estabiliza??o (fitoestabiliza??o) do contaminante no ambiente. O objetivo do trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do cultivo de Pennisetum purpurem Schum., na distribui??o das fra??es qu?micas de zinco e c?dmio no solo, em tr?s valores de pH, ap?s a contamina??o com res?duo industrial contendo altos teores destes elementos, e a sua poss?vel influ?ncia na germina??o e desenvolvimento da planta. Foi conduzido um experimento inteiramente casualizado no sistema fatorial 2x2x3, em amostra de horizonte Bt de um Argissolo Amarelo, contaminado e n?o contaminado, com res?duo da Cia Mercantil e Industrial Ing?, com e sem cultivo de Pennisetum purpurem Schum., e recebendo a aplica??o de tr?s doses de CaCO3. O solo utilizado foi coletado no munic?pio de Pinheiral ? RJ, sendo parte da amostra contaminada com res?duo (66,67 g kg-1), para elevar o teor pseudo-total de Zn a valores superiores a 1500 mg kg-1. A amostra contaminada e n?o contaminada foi dividida em tr?s grupos cada um recebeu uma dose diferente de CaCO3 (0,00; 0,75; 1,5 mg kg-1). Posteriormente sendo incubadas por 40 dias a 80% da capacidade de campo. Ap?s a incuba??o foram plantados tr?s toletes de Pennisetum purpurem Schum., gen?tipo Cameroon, em cada unidade cultivada. Aos 18 dias ap?s o plantio foram avaliadas a germina??o e a altura m?dia das pl?ntulas. Aos 135 dias ap?s o plantio foram coletadas a parte a?rea e raiz das plantas. Os substratos foram amostrados ap?s a incuba??o e no final do experimento. Nestes substratos foi determinado o pH em ?gua e, para os tratamentos que receberam res?duo, os teores de Zn e Cd nas seguintes fra??es: sol?vel (F1), troc?vel (F2), precipitada (F3), adsorvida mais fortemente (F4) e residual (F5). Os extratores utilizados para a determina??o das fra??es foram: ?gua deionizada, MgCl2, ?cido ac?tico, DTPA e ?gua r?gia. Os resultados mostraram que a germina??o e o desenvolvimento de Pennisetum purpurem Schum. foram limitados pelo teor de Cd e principalmente de Zn nas fra??es mais biodispon?veis (F1 e F2). Os teores de Zn na fra??o sol?vel (F1) superiores a 125 mg kg-1, provocaram redu??o na germina??o e no desenvolvimento inicial da cultura. O cultivo de Pennisetum purpureum Schum. promoveu redu??o do pH do solo de todos os tratamentos, tendo favorecido a solubilidade de Zn dos substratos contaminados. Teores foliares de Zn superiores a 1380 mg kg-1 provocaram acentuada redu??o no crescimento e sintomas de fitotoxidez. O Pennisetum purpureum Schum. n?o se comportou como hiperacumulador de Zn e Cd, mas apresentou acumula??o de Zn e efici?ncia na remedia??o de Zn e Cd.

Composi??o de ?cidos graxos, teores de colesterol e ?xidos de colesterol em amostras comerciais de atuns em conservas / Fatty acid composition, cholesterol and cholesterol oxides contents in commercial samples of canned tuna

CNPq / Brazil presents an important commercial fishing pole, which turns it to become relevant considering the benefits that consumption of fish plays in human nutrition. Canned fish promotes long shelf life of these food. However, foods that are rich sources of polyunsaturated fatty acids and cholesterol, such as tuna, have a great susceptibility for lipid oxidation when exposed to thermal processing. Cholesterol oxidation products (COP?s) are related to several diseases such as atherosclerosis, and can be absorbed from the diet. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the lipid composition and COP?s production in canned tuna purchased from metropolitan area of Rio de Janeiro. Three trademarks of ?grated in brine? and ?in oil? canned tuna were evaluated. To determinate lipid oxidation, the fatty acid composition from the methyl esters of the fish and their brine were identified using gas chromatography with flame ionisation detector; cholesterol and cholesterol oxides were determined simultaneously, using high-performance liquid chromatography and confirmed by liquid chromatograph mass spectrometer (chemical ionization interface for atmospheric pressure) (APCI-MS). Tuna in ?brine? samples presented moisture contents in a range of 24.60 to 27.23g/100g; lipids contents ranging from 4.21 to 5.59g/100g; polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) levels between 9.13 to 16,20g/100g, and high saturated fatty acids (SFA) contents (in a range of 54.66 to 59.85g/100g) (dry basis-DB). The nutritional quality index showed that lipid fractions presented undesirable values. These samples presented cholesterol concentration ranging from 190.95 to 399.28mg/100g, and high cholesterol oxidation products contents (between 321.42 and 414.94?g/100g- DB). Samples of ?in oil? canned tuna presented moisture and lipids contents of 31.93 to 51.33g/100g and 23.70 to 43.99g/100g, respectively; high polyunsaturated fatty acids concentration (46.06 to 49.92g/100g), especially the w6 series; and low levels of EPA and DHA amounts (in a range of 0.59 and 1.73g/100g). Cholesterol and COP?s contents varied from 135.90 to 191.92mg/100g and from 110.97 to 207.19?g/100g, respectively. Significate concentrations of cholesterol were identified in brine (18.99 to 37.10mg/100g) and ?in oil? samples (113.09 to 259.12mg/100g), and high COP?s contents were found (in a range of 230.54 and 477.12?g/100g from brine and 44.15 to 151.18?g/100g from ?in oil? samples). It was observed that there is a transference of lipids from fish to brine, as well as migration between fish lipids and vegetable oils in the ?oil? covers, changing the fatty acids profiles of both. It is considered that the production of canned fish contributes to loss of lipid quality, promotes fatty acids oxidation and induces the formation of cholesterol oxidation products. These results indicate that is necessary to conduct further studies to evaluate the occurrence of these undesirable compounds in fish products. / O Brasil possui um importante polo de pesca comercial, fato que se torna relevante considerando os benef?cios que o consumo de pescados desempenha na nutri??o humana. As conservas de peixes promovem nestes alimentos tempos de vida ?til prolongados. Entretanto, os alimentos ricos em ?cidos graxos poliinsaturados e colesterol, como os atuns, quando submetidos ao processamento t?rmico, apresentam grande potencial para a oxida??o lip?dica. Os produtos da oxida??o do colesterol (POC?s) est?o envolvidos no desenvolvimento de doen?as, como a aterosclerose, e podem ser absorvidos a partir da dieta. Desta forma, este trabalho teve como objetivos avaliar a composi??o lip?dica e a forma??o dos POC?s em conservas de atuns comercializadas na regi?o metropolitana do Rio de Janeiro. Foram avaliadas amostras de conservas ?raladas? em ?salmoura? e em ??leo? de 3 marcas comerciais. Para determina??o da oxida??o lip?dica, identificou-se a composi??o de ?cidos graxos dos atuns e respectivos l?quidos de coberturas a partir dos ?steres met?licos, atrav?s de Cromatografia Gasosa com detector de ioniza??o por chama; al?m da quantifica??o simult?nea do colesterol e dos POC?s, atrav?s de cromatografia l?quida de alta efici?ncia e confirmados por cromat?grafo l?quido com espetr?metro de massas (interface de ioniza??o qu?mica por press?o atmosf?rica) (APCI-MS). Os atuns em ?salmoura? apresentaram m?dias entre 24,60 a 27,23g/100g de umidade; entre 4,21 a 5,59g/100g de lip?deos; teores de 9,13 a 16,20g/100g de ?cidos graxos poliinsaturados (AGPI), e elevadas concentra??es de ?cidos graxos saturados (AGS) (entre 54,66 a 59,85g/100g), em base seca (BS). Foram evidenciados nos ?ndices de qualidade nutricional das fra??es lip?dicas com valores pouco desej?veis sob o ponto de vista nutricional. As concentra??es de colesterol nessas amostras variaram entre 190,95 a 399,28mg/100g, e foram identificados elevados teores de produtos de oxida??o do colesterol (entre 321,42 e 414,94?g/g/100g), em BS. As amostras de atuns em conservas contendo ??leo? apresentaram teores entre 31,93 e 51,33g/100g de umidade; entre 23,70 e 43,99g/100g de lip?deos, elevadas concentra??es de ?cidos graxos poliinsaturados (de 46,06 a 49,92g/100g), em especial os da s?rie w6 e reduzidos teores na soma de EPA e DHA (entre 0,59 e 1,73g/100g). As concentra??es de colesterol variaram entre 135,90 e 191,92mg/100g e os POC?s de 110,97 a 207,19?g/100g. Em rela??o aos l?quidos de coberturas, foram identificadas concentra??es significativas de colesterol (de 18,99 a 37,10mg/100g nas salmouras e de 113,09 a 259,12mg/100g nos ?leos, respectivamente), al?m de elevados teores de produtos de oxida??o do colesterol (entre 230,54 e 477,12?g/100g nas salmouras e entre 44,15 e 151,18?g/100g nos ?leos). Observou-se a transfer?ncia de lip?deos dos pescados para os l?quidos em ?salmoura?, al?m da migra??o de lip?deos entre os pescados e os ?leos vegetais nas conservas em ??leo?, alterando os perfis de ?cidos graxos de ambos os meios. Considera-se que a produ??o de conservas de peixes favorece a perda da sua qualidade lip?dica, promovem oxida??o de ?cidos graxos e induzem a forma??o de produtos de oxida??o do colesterol, fato que indica a necessidade da condu??o de novos estudos que avaliem a ocorr?ncia desses compostos indesej?veis oriundos da oxida??o lip?dica em produtos de pescados.

Most commercial crops show photosynthetic mechanisms C3 and C4, which set different carbon isotopes C12 or C13. Through isotopic analysis can determine the origin and prevalence of type of carbon that make up the soil organic matter (SOM) in a given area. Depending on the chemical fractionation MOS can also be divided into fractions FAF, FAH and FHU, these fractions have specific characteristics depending on their origin training and ambient conditions. The objective of this study was to evaluate the influence of plant origin C3 or C4 in the formation of the chemical and molecular structure of humic substances extracted from four areas with different vegetation cover, but submitted to agroecological management. To investigate this influence were extracted humic substances (HS) of these soils, being held chemical fractionation and chemical characterization by NMR analysis, FTIR, quantification and ?13C e ?15N isotopes in the AH fraction, 13 C-CP / MAS NMR and elemental determination. From the results obtained from these analyzes it was concluded that the plant does not influence qualitative differences, but in quantitative between the chemical components of humic substances (HS), the type of photosynthetic cycle does not seem to be a determining factor in the formation and incorporation of the types of structures in HA, but rather the quantities of these structures and their humic organizational distribution. The chemometric theoretical analyzes indicate that the development and preservation of humic these soils may be possible in intensive management systems such as rotation upon application of exogenous sources of stabilized SH, as well as favoring the humidification process in less managed systems as pasture and SAF. In this study it was demonstrated by characterization and chemometrics applied to AH of an agro-ecological system, the current state of MOS in terms of stability and structural enrichment and being proposed possible avenues for recovery and preservation of SH in mineral soils that may contribute to the increase in conditions fertility and thus agricultural production. / A mat?ria org?nica do solo pode ser oriunda da decomposi??o de animais ou vegetais. A maioria das culturas comerciais apresentam mecanismos fotossint?ticos C3 ou C4, que fixam diferentes is?topos de carbono C12 ou C13. Atrav?s de an?lises isot?picas ? poss?vel determinar a origem e predomin?ncia do tipo de carbono que comp?em a mat?ria org?nica do solo (MOS) em determinada ?rea. Em fun??o do fracionamento qu?mico a MOS ainda pode ser dividida nas fra??es FAF, FAH e FHU, estas fra??es apresentam caracter?sticas especificas em fun??o da sua origem de forma??o e condi??es ambientes. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a influ?ncia da origem vegetal C3 ou C4 na forma??o da estrutura qu?mica e molecular das substancias h?micas extra?das de quatro ?reas com cobertura diferentes vegetais, por?m submetidas ao manejo agroecol?gico. Para averiguar esta influ?ncia foram extra?das as substancias h?micas (SH) destes solos, sendo realizado o fracionamento qu?mico e caracteriza??o qu?mica atrav?s de an?lises de RMN, FTIR, quantifica??o de is?topos ?13C e?15N na fra??o de AH, 13C-CP/MAS NMR e a determina??o elementar. A partir dos resultados obtidos a partir dessas an?lises foi poss?vel concluir que a origem vegetal n?o influencia em diferen?as qualitativas e sim em quantitativas entre os componentes qu?micos das substancias h?micas (SH), o tipo de ciclo fotossint?tico n?o parece ser um fator determinante na forma??o e incorpora??o dos tipos de estruturas nos AH, mas sim nas quantidades destas estruturas e na sua distribui??o organizacional h?mica. As an?lises te?ricas quimiom?tricas indicam que a incorpora??o e preserva??o de MO humificada nestes solos pode ser poss?vel em sistemas de manejo intensivo como a rota??o, mediante aplica??es de fontes ex?genas de SH estabilizada, assim como tamb?m o favorecimento dos processos de humifica??o em sistemas menos manejados como pastagem e SAF. Neste estudo foi comprovado mediante carateriza??o e quimiometria aplicadas aos AH de um sistema agroecol?gico, o estado atual da MOS em termos de estabilidade e enriquecimento estrutural e sendo propostas poss?veis vias para a recupera??o e preserva??o das SH em solos minerais que possam contribuir ao aumento das condi??es de fertilidade e consequentemente da produ??o agr?cola.

Because of this characteristic they are more fragile in face of agricultural use and management than mineral soils. The agricultural drainage is the most important practice that changes soil properties and it is the cause of subsidence, which impacts on other attributes. On the other hand, Histosols are an important natural reservoir of carbon in the soil. However, there are few studies on the dynamics of carbon and nitrogen and potential contribution of greenhouse gases as a result of agricultural usage. The study aims to identify changes in edaphic attributes and dynamics of carbon and nitrogen of Histosols in a floodplain environment in State of Rio de Janeiro, according to types of land use and agricultural management. Three areas with different managements were selected. Two areas are located in Macae municipality, under pasture and annual crop rotation, and the third in Santa Cruz, in Rio de Janeiro city, cultivated with cassava (Manihot esculenta). They were evaluated: chemical and physical attributes, including aggregate stability and specific attributes of Histosols; content soil organic matter (SOM), carbon in the fractions - humin (HUM-C), humic acid (HAF-C) and fulvic acid (C-FAF); stocks of C and N; and flux of gases CO2 and N2O from soil to atmosphere. In general, the area cultivated with cassava had the highest values for the exchangeable cations at all depths; in the first sampling the H value varied from 32.1 to 33.2 cmolc kg-1, and Ca from 20.4 to 15.7 cmolc kg-1. In the second sampling K and P (5.16 to 4.36 cmol c kg-1, and 4 mg kg-1, respectively) were highest in the cassava crop area. The levels of (SOM) were highest in the pasture for the two sampling periods, with values ranging from 306.3 to 249.0 g kg-1 (WB method) and 297.8 to 278,5 g kg-1 (oven method) for the first sampling, and from 303.2 to 153.9 g kg-1 (WB) and 322.9 to 176.1 g kg-1 (oven) in the second period, indicating that this usage is less aggressive to the soil. The physical properties of Histosols may be used to indicate degree of subsidence. Thus, the high values of particle density and bulk density (1.9 and 0.8 Mg m-3); the total volume of pores that ranged from 54 to 60% with the lowest values in the two samplings; and minimum residue and mineral material highest than other usages (0.49 to 0.44 cm and 85.1 cm-1 to 80.7%, respectively) in the cassava area point to the high subsidence ot these soil. As for SOM chemical fractionation, the C_HUM indicated that this fraction had highest expression in all areas. In the second sampling the cassava area showed the lowest values of C-HUM (79.05 to 76.27 g kg-1), followed by C_FAH (44.56 to 40.05 g kg-1) and C_FAF (20.37 to 14.36 g kg-1). The stocks of C and N were highest in the pasture area, indicating better preservation of SOM, with values from 72.93 to 117.12 mg kg-1 for C and from 8.35 to 2,67 mg kg-1 for N. The values of CO2-C flux were within the range of variation proposed by the IPCC, where the highest emission value corresponded to 0.09 Mg CO2 ha-1 day-1 in the pasture area. The values of N2O-N flux were lower than the emission rate proposed by the IPCC, with the highest value around 270 g N2O-N m-2 day-1 in the area with beans. In general, the area with pasture management stood up as management that caused the least damage to the Histosols properties, among the land use evaluated. / Os Organossolos caracterizam-se pelo alto teor de material org?nico, que distingue essa classe das demais no Sistema Brasileiro de Classifica??o de Solo. Ainda, por essa caracter?stica s?o solos mais fr?geis diante do uso e manejo agr?cola que solos com dom?nio de minerais. Dentre as pr?ticas que mais alteram as propriedades ed?ficas, a drenagem ? a mais importante e ? respons?vel pelo processo de subsid?ncia com impactos em v?rios atributos. Por outro lado, os Organossolos s?o importante reservat?rio natural de carbono no solo. Ainda assim s?o poucos os estudos sobre a din?mica de carbono e nitrog?nio e o potencial de contribui??o com gases de efeito estufa diante do manejo agr?cola. O estudo visa identificar altera??es nos atributos ed?ficos e na din?mica de carbono e nitrog?nio de Organossolos em ambiente de v?rzea no Estado do Rio de Janeiro, em fun??o de tipos de uso e manejo agr?cola. Foram selecionadas tr?s ?reas com manejos distintos. Duas ?reas localizam-se em Maca?, com pastagem e rota??o de culturas anuais, e a terceira em Santa Cruz, no Rio de Janeiro, com mandioca (Manihot esculenta). Foram avaliados: atributos qu?micos e f?sicos, incluindo estabilidade de agregados e atributos espec?ficos de Organossolos; teores de mat?ria org?nica do solo (MOS) e o teor de C nas fra??es humina (C-HUM), ?cido h?mico (C-FAH) e ?cido f?lvico (C-FAF); estoques de C e N; e fluxos dos gases CO2 e N2O do solo para a atmosfera. Em geral, a ?rea com mandioca apresentou os maiores valores para o complexo sortivo em todas as profundidades; na primeira coleta o H variou de 32,1 a 33,2 cmolc kg-1, e o Ca entre 20,4 e 15,7 cmolc kg-1. Na segunda coleta destacam-se os valores de K e P (5,16 e 4,36 cmolc kg-1 e 4 mg kg-1, respectivamente) tamb?m maiores na ?rea com mandioca. A MOS mostrou maior teor na ?rea de pastagem para as duas coletas, com valores variando entre 306,3 a 249,0 g kg-1 (m?todo WB) e 297,8 a 278,5 g kg-1 (m?todo da mufla) na primeira coleta, e para a segunda coleta de 303,2 a 153,9 g kg-1 (WB) e 322,9 a 176,1 g kg-1 (mufla), o que indica que esse manejo ? menos agressivo ao solo. As propriedades f?sicas dos Organossolos podem indicar o seu grau de subsid?ncia. Assim, os valores altos de densidade da part?cula e densidade do solo (em torno de 1,9 e 0,8 Mg m-3) mais o volume total de poros, que variou de 54 a 60% sendo os menores nas duas coletas, e o res?duo m?nimo e material mineral com valores maiores (0,49 a 0,44 cm cm-1 e 85,1 a 80,7%, respectivamente) indicam para a ?rea de mandioca maior grau de subsid?ncia. No fracionamento qu?mico da MOS o C_HUM indicou que essa fra??o teve maior express?o em todos as ?reas. Na segunda coleta a ?rea de mandioca apresentou os menores valores de CHUM (79,05 a 76,27 g kg-1) seguidos de C_FAH (44,56 a 40,05 g kg-1) e C_FAF (20,37 a 14,36 g kg-1). Os estoques de carbono e nitrog?nio foram mais altos no solo sob pastagem, indicando melhor conserva??o da MOS, com valores entre 117,12 e 72,93 Mg kg-1 para C e 8,35 e 2,67 Mg kg-1 para N. Os valores de fluxo de C-CO2 estiveram dentro da faixa de varia??o proposta pelo IPCC, em que o maior valor de emiss?o correspondeu a 0,09 Mg CO2 ha-1 dia-1 na ?rea de pastagem. Os valores de N-N2O foram menores que a taxa de emiss?o proposta pelo IPCC, com o valor mais elevado em torno de 270 ?g N-N2O m-2 dia-1 e na ?rea com feij?o. Em geral, a pastagem se destacou como o manejo que causou menor altera??o nas propriedades dos Organossolos, dentre as formas de uso da terra avaliadas.
