The thesis deals with the issue of strategic management in the work of the school head. In the theoretical part, we identify the position of the school head in terms of the prerequisites for managerial management and define the possibilities of his education. This part is conceived not only as a professional starting point for the practical part, but also as a means to obtain a basic overview of strategic management in relation to the performance of the function of school principal. The text is continuously moving from the professional definition to the main strategic documents in the work of the director. It deals with the prerequisites for the performance of the director's activities, the competency model and describes the current possibilities of systemic education of directors in the field of strategic management and planning, including the most frequently preferred methods of education. The practical part identifies and analyzes the importance of the strategic school development plan (school development concept) from the perspective of primary school principals through a questionnaire survey and subsequent structured interviews. The diploma thesis is theoretically empirical and deals with the current topic of motivation and barriers to further education of teachers at secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The author chose this topic, because it considers the topic to be important and included in the list of priority objectives of the Ministry of Education, which has long sought to increase professionalism and improve the working conditions of the teachers. In the first chapter there is a definition of the teaching profession according to professional literature, including the specifics of a secondary school teacher. It also focues on further education in the context of lifelong learning, especially in relation to further education of teachers. The main part of the chapter deals with the motivation of pedagogical staff for further education. The theoretical part ends with a chapter devoted to the career and professional development of teachers. Målet med examensarbetet var att ta fram en kravspecifikation till KTH:s och ICT:s webbportal avseende utökning av tjänster för förmedling av sommarjobb, mentorskap, studiebesök och projektidéer. Syftet är att beskriva hur de fyra tjänsterna kan fungera i interaktionen mellan användaren och webbportalen. Det hela sammanställdes i en kravspecifikation med hjälp av användarfall. Metoden som valdes för att genomföra arbetet var aktionsforskning. Första steget i metoden var att studera webbportalen och sedan genom intervjuer och diskussioner ta fram användarfallen. Analysen av resultaten visar att ingenting saknas gällande funktionaliteten hos tjänsterna, men det skulle vara bra med ytterligare validering genom att diskutera kravspecifikationen med någon kunnig inom användarfall. / The goal of this paper was to produce a requirements specification for KTH:s and ICT:s web portal regarding the extension of the services intermediation of summer job, mentoring, study visits and project ideas. The purpose of the paper is to describe how the four services can function in the interaction between the user and the web portal. This was compiled into a requirements specification consisting of a number of use cases. The method chosen to conduct the research was action research. The first step of the method was to study the web portal and then through interviews and discussions create the use cases. The analysis of the results shows that nothing is missing regarding the functionality of the services, but it would be good with further validation by discussing the requirements specification with someone knowledgeable in the field of use cases.

The theoretical part through the analysis of different theoretical approaches to further education, defines and describes the issue of further education of teachers , the system - specific conditions , areas and its financing. It deals with the areas of the teacher's profession, their competences , career structure and professional standards. The empirical part of this dissertation, based on empirical research, describes the system of further education of teachers both in terms of school leadership , and from the perspective of teachers and it maps specific factors affecting the quality of the current further education of teachers.

Motivace k dalšímu vzdělávání pracovníků v pomáhajících profesích / Motivation for Further Education of Helping Professions Workers

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of motivation for further education in helping professions. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the current forms of motivation in a selected area of helping professions in the Czech Republic. Attention is paid to the characteristics of the field of helping professions, personal specifics and competences of workers in helping professions and ethical aspects of work in helping professions. The issue of further education with a focus on continuing professional education in the helping professions is discussed. Barriers to further education in the selected group are also elaborated. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the issue of motivation, selected motivational approaches and motivation of workers in the helping professions to participate in educational activities. The thesis includes a quantitative empirical investigation aimed at analysing the motivation for continuing professional education of health care and education workers. The results of the quantitative questionnaire are analysed by descriptive statistics and then verified by test statistics in order to find out the specifics of the motivation of helping professions and to verify how the motivation to further professional education differs among the selected helping professions. Syftet med denna undersökning är att försöka förstå ifall lärarna ser några problem med IKT, samt om man känner obehag eller förtrogenhet med IKT. Vi vill även undersöka om lärarna anser att de får en kontinuerlig fortbildning inom den moderna teknologin.För att nå syftet har vi använt en kvalitativ metod med totalt elva intervjuer. Den litteratur som presenteras belyser tidigare undersökningar kring lärarens roll och de samband som finns mellan IKT och pedagogiska mål.Resultatet av vår undersökning visar att ett viktigt hjälpmedel för läraren är att aktivt deltaga i elevernas kunskapsinsamling. Undersökningen visar också att det är viktigt med baskunskaper inom IKT, samt att mycket av lärarnas vidareutbildning sker efter eget behov.Slutsatsen av vår undersökning visar att lärarna har en god baskunskap om IKT samt att de kontinuerligt ser nya behov att kompetensutveckla sig. The Training of Teachers at Malmö University.The purpose of this study is to try to elucidate if the teachers are experiencing any problems with ICT, and if they feel familiar or ill at ease with ICT. We also want to find out if the teachers consider that they continuously are offered further education within modern technology. In order to attain our object we have used a qualitative method and eleven interviews in all. The literature that is presented sheds light upon earlier research about the teacher’s role and the connections between ICT and pedagogical goals. The result of our study shows that an important teaching aid is to take an active part in the students’ acquisition of knowledge. The study also shows that basic skills are important in ICT, and that a great deal of the teachers’ further training is obtained according to their own needs. The conclusion of our study is that the teachers have good basic knowledge about ICT and that they continuously see new demands for competence development. A suggestion for further research would be how to proceed in order to successfully obtain reliable material when browsing on the Internet.

Vidareutveckling av termoformningsmaskin / Further development of thermoforming machine

I dagsläget använder sig Plastic Produkter AB sig av termoformningsmaskiner för hantering av halvfabrikat av termoplaster, en maskin som de tillverkat och även sålt vidare till olika sorters kunder. Ursprungsmaskinen tillverkades i ett simpelt utförande endast för att klara grund behovet att bocka olika arbetsstycken. Eftersom marknaden samt utvecklingen av olika metoder sedan dess har gått framåt finns ett intresse av att vidareutveckla nuvarande termoformningsmaskin för halvfabrikat av termoplaster. I nuvarande version krävs det att användaren kan ställa om maskinen manuellt mellan olika typer av operationer som underlättar användningen av maskinen för användaren. Uppgiften i detta projekt har därför varit att vidareutveckla termoformningsmaskinen genom att optimera dess process men även automatisera olika typer av regleringar gällande avståndsmätning mellan viktiga delar av termoformningsmaskinen. För att komma fram till ett tillfredställande resultat har olika undersökningar skett, samt fakta tagits fram till grund för utvecklingen av de olika koncept som kan bidra till en konkurrenskraftig maskin. Ur dessa har det mest lovande konceptet tagits fram genom olika typer av matriser samt diskussioner med användare och företagets representant. Resultatet är en vidareutveckling genom en modifiering av nuvarande termoformningsmaskin genom tre stycken olika koncept. I dessa ligger stort fokus att uppgradera termoformningsmaskinen för att underlätta för användaren och minska de olika manuella moment som i dagens läge krävs för vissa typer av omställningar och även förbättra det resultat som termoformningsmaskinen ger på ett arbetsstycke. / In the current situation Plastic Produkter AB uses thermoforming machines for handling semi-finished products of thermoplastics. A machine they manufactured and also sold to different kinds of customers. The original machine was manufactured in a simple design only to cope with the need to bend different work pieces. Since the market and the development of different methods have developed, there is an interest in further developing the current thermoforming machine for semimanufactured thermoplastics. In the current version the user is required to manually switch the machine between different types of operations, certain efficiency and improvement is required, which facilitates the use of the machine for the user. The task of this project has therefor been to further develop the thermoforming machine by optimizing its process, but also automating different types of distance measurement regulations between key parts of the thermoforming machine. In order to arrive at a satisfactory result, various investigations have taken place, as well as the facts underlying the development of the different concepts that can contribute to a competitive machine. From these, the most promising concept has been developed through different types of matrices as well as discussions with users and company representatives. The result was a further development through a modification of the current thermoforming machine through three different concepts. In these concepts, great focus is on upgrading the thermoforming machine to facilitate the user and reduce the different manual moments required at present for certain types of switches and also to improve the performance of the thermoforming machine from the work piece.

An impact study of the competency and placement (CAP) test intervention at further education and training (FET) colleges

The research undertaken involves a quasi-experimental approach in determining the impact of the Competency and Placement (CAP) test in the Further Education and Training (FET) colleges. The evaluation became necessary because poor learner performance within the National Certification Vocational (NCV) programme has persisted amid the implementation of a country-wide roll-out of the CAP test; and a recapitalisation injection of R1.9m. Learner performance data relating to the NCV programme and CAP was obtained in order to undertake an accurate analysis of the poor performance within the FET college sector. In addition to the above, qualitative data was obtained through semi-structured interviews with CAP participating colleges in the country. Recommendations included the restructuring of the NCV programme; the introduction of an alternative learner placement methodology that was in line with international best practices; and improving quality assurance aspects pertaining to the capacity at colleges to deliver the NCV programme effectively. / Human Resources Development / M. The aim of this work is to answer the following question: ‚Is it possible to compare qualification training and forms of further training of headmasters in different countries?' The author of this thesis deals with headmaster training in the Czech Republic and the Federal Republic of Germany (Bavaria and North Rhine-Westphalia). He obtained information about education systems and education opportunities in these countries through selected research methods which were a questionnaire and interviews with school headmasters. The need for proper managerial qualification of headmasters necessary for them to meet requirements for discharge of the function is proved by the fact that today headmasters have to cope with demands made on their competency readiness which they can receive through good specialized training. The information obtained can be used as a pattern or methodical recommendations because in every country the managerial education follows different qualifying models. This work focuses on personal management in education and circumstances relating to it, respectively on one of the basic personal activities, that is education and development of employees. Personal development of staff and their further education should be ongoing. The premise is that school management plays vital role in further staff education. This work is to find out, whether or not this really is true, that teachers perceive director as the key person who influences their professional growth. Data is analysed with combination of quantitative and qualitative research. Research analysis shows, that in selected primary schools, teachers perceive their directors as adequately competent and well motivating on their quest to professional development.
