O objetivo é apresentar uma história social e intelectual da arqueologia amazônica tomando como foco central a atividade de Betty Meggers na Amazônia brasileira com a finalidade de compreender o processo de produção, circulação, recepção e debates em torno das hipóteses sobre a ocupação da Amazônia, e suas influências contemporâneas no campo da arqueologia amazônica. E, desse modo, analisar a inserção histórica que o casal alcançou no campo científico sobre a Amazônia. / The modern written of the Amazonian archaeology is related to the researches of north-american Betty Meggers (1921-) and Clifford Evans (1920-1981). The historical relevance of the research effected by the couple and especially for Meggers is the focus of this dissertation. The objective is to present a social and intellectual history of Amazonian archaeology being taken as central focus the a focus the activity of Betty Meggers in the Amazon rain forest with the purpose to understand the process of production, circulation, reception and discussion around the hypotheses about the occupation of the Amazon, and theirs influences contemporaries in the field of Amazonian archaeology. And, in this way, to analyze the historical insertion that the couple reached in the scientific field about the Amazon.

A construção da rodovia estadual PA-150 no final da década de 70, o processo migratório que se direcionou para essa região nas décadas de 70 e 80, ou seja, o processo de ocupação das margens dessa estrada por migrante-posseiro bem como os conflitos travados pela posse de terras nessa região e a funcionalidade da vila Arraias como um núcleo, uma célula na luta pela terra na região da PA-150 é o que dá direção e estrutura a esta discussão. / This dissertation tries to understand the history of Arraias village (southeast paraense) as construction of the migrant-leaseholding in the decade of 70, looking for an understanding of as it happened the process of formation of the village at the margins of the PA-150, identifyng and characterizing the reasons and subjects that had direct and indirectly involved in that process and which were their actions. The construction of the state highway PA-150 in the end of the decade of 70 and 80, in other words, the process of occupation of the margins of that highway for migrant-leaseholder as well as the conflicts locked by the ownership of lands in that area and the functionality of the Arraias villge as a nucleus, a cell in the fight for the land in the area of the PA-150 it is what to give direction and structure to this dissertation.

O Pará teve nesse processo grande destaque por ser o ‘portal de entrada da região’. Assim, boa parte dos empreendimentos que foram implantados neste estado, não levava em consideração a população que habitava esta longínqua parte do Brasil, há muito esquecida pelos governos federais. Os projetos pensados eram totalmente opostos ao tipo de atividades econômicas que durante séculos se trabalhava na região pelas comunidades existentes, como dos indígenas ou dos colonos. Os projetos agroindustriais tinham como meta a apropriação de grandes quantidades de terra para alcançarem seus objetivos. Com a concessão dos representantes militares, a Amazônia sofreu profundas mudanças depois da instalação desses agros negócios, fazendo com que muitas cidades que já existiam vivessem uma fase de grandes conflitos para não permitirem que os projetos se instalassem simplesmente de acordo com a vontade desses empresários e que prejudicassem inúmeras famílias. O município de Moju vivenciou esse cenário. O processo de instalação das agroindústrias se iniciou ainda na década de 1970, mas foi na década de 1980 que os colonos viram-se ameaçados de perder suas terras para esses empreendimentos. Dessa forma, neste trabalho, analiso como se deu à entrada desses projetos, assim como a organização desses colonos e os enfrentamentos que tiveram durante todo este período e que fez com que com que este cenário se transformasse em “palco de guerra” durante vários momentos. Os documentos utilizados como dossiê, reportagem de jornais, atas de reuniões, reportagem de revistas, entrevistas de lideranças sindicais, lavradores, vitimas da violência, ajudam a entender como se deu este processo turbulento na pequena cidade, que a todo custo deveria chegar ao ‘desenvolvimento econômico’. / During the government of the Military Dictatorship, Amazônia he/she became part of the project of priorities to help Brazil to reach a larger development. Pará had in that process great prominence for being it ' portal of entrance of the area '. Like this, good part of the enterprises that were implanted in this state, it didn't take in consideration the population that inhabited this longínqua it leaves of Brazil, he/she has been forgetting a lot for the federal governments. The thought projects were totally opposed to the type of economic activities that during centuries worked him in the area for the existent communities, as of the natives or of the colonists. The projects agroindustriais had as goal the appropriation of great amounts of earth for they reach its objectives. With the military representatives' concession, Amazônia suffered deep changes after the installation of those agriculture business, doing with that a lot of cities that already existed lived a phase of great conflicts for they allow not that the projects if they simply installed in agreement with the those managers' will and that harmed countless families. The municipal district of Moju vivenciou that scenery. The process of installation of the agroindústrias still began in the decade of 1970, but it went in to decade of 1980 that the colonists saw each other threatened of losing its lands for those enterprises. In that way, in this work, I analyze as he/she gave him to the entrance of those projects, as well as the those colonists' organization and the enfrentamentos that had during this whole period and that did with that with that this scenery if it transformed at " war " stage for several moments. The documents used as dossier, report of newspapers, proceedingses of meetings, report of magazines, interviews of syndical leaderships, tillers, you slay of the violence, they help to understand as he/she gave him this turbulent process in the small city, that should arrive to the at every cost ' economic development.

Analisa-se aqui o processo de apropriação desse patrimônio histórico, assim como os conflitos, disputas e negociações em torno dele, enquanto espólio de memória. Nesse contexto constrói-se também a arguição sobre qual o papel da história e do historiador diante desse processo. / This dissertation discusses the process of restoration of the Forte do Presépio in Belém do Pará (Brazil), in 2000, and its transformation into a museum. It analyses the appropriation of that historic heritage, as well as the conflicts, disputes and negotiations as regards the site, being a heritage of memory. It thus focuses on the role played by history and the historian in this process.

Raramente se pensa em literatura, mas lembra-se da religiosidade que permeia todos esses primeiros. Nessas concepções não se lembram de colocar a história, ou melhor, as histórias que foram produzidas pelos sujeitos que construíram todas essas manifestações e ideias. Aqui se procurou fazer um esforço de pensar historicamente a formação de uma religiosidade constituída no meio da região amazônica, na perspectiva de um olhar do povo, aquele a que se refere quando se fala em cultura popular. De um espaço do interior dessa região, a cidade de São João de Pirabas, procuramos ver como essa religiosidade, representada na natureza e a partir dela, se liga a uma história mais ampla com a figura de um rei Português, D. Sebastião, religiões como a pajelança cabocla e afro-brasileiras. Além do esforço de intelectuais de, também, mostrar essas religiões a partir do pensamento dos sujeitos que a fizeram, tornando-a muitas vezes, uma resposta, uma alternativa e ao mesmo tempo parte da religião cristã imposta aos nossos antepassados que a reelaboraram, juntamente com a construção de suas histórias. / When we apeak about popular culture, come to our thought of the commom sense, music, folklore and dance. We rarelly think in literature, but remember the religiosity that envolve all of these firsts. On that conception we don‟t remember to put the history, or better, the history that was produced for the people that made all of these manifestation and ideas. Here we try to think historically the genesis of a religiousness made in the middle of the Amazon region, with perspective of a sight of the people, the one who refers to when we speak about popular culture. From a site of the countryside of this region, São João de Pirabas city, we tried to see how this religiousness, represents in the nature and from it, to link a wider history with a Portuguese king character, D. Sebastian, religions with shamanism caboclo and afro-brasilian. Beyond the efforts of intelectuals and, also, show these religions from the thoughts of the people who made it, become it the most of the time, and answer, an alternative and at the same time part of the christian religion stabilished to our ancestrals that relaborated, as one the build of their history.

Desde os anos 40 do século passado as religiões afro-brasileiras vêm se instalando na região, trazidas por imigrantes de outras unidades da federação brasileira, e nesse processo vêm se tocando, interagindo, se misturando. O Candomblé embora recente, data dos anos 80 do século X, adquiriu grande visibilidade e tem crescido bastante as adesões de adeptos de outras religiões afro-brasileiras a essa religião, em virtude das expectativas e concepções de superioridade que se criaram a respeito deste. No entanto, para atender suas necessidades e as demandas da clientela pais e mães-de-santo se utilizam das práticas das várias denominações afro-religiosas. Neste sentido, a ritualística do Candomblé aparece como mais um acréscimo, um elemento a mais no cabedal de conhecimentos religiosos adquiridos ao longo da vida e da trajetória religiosa dos sacerdotes e sacerdotisas responsáveis pelos terreiros de Macapá. Assim sendo, este estudo contribui para repensar a importância dos estudos que envolvem os fenômenos da imigração cultural, com a instalação de um sistema cultural novo em uma dada sociedade em expansão, as alterações que isso provoca no meio cultural em que se insere e no sistema cultural em questão. / Using as sources the oral memory, documents, prints and vídeo images, the present study deals with the relations that are established among the practices of Candomblé, Umbanda, “Mina” and Cure, in “terreiros” from Macapá, state of amapá. Since the 40’s of the last century the Afro-Brazilian religions have been settling in the region, brought by immigrants from other states of the Brazilian Federation, and in this process they have been touching, interacting and mixing to each other. The Candomblé though recent, from the 80’s of the 20th century, acquired a great visibility and has been increasing a lot the number of adhesions to this religion of followers from other Afro-Brazilian religions, in virtue of the expectations and conceptions of superiority that were created about it. Therefore to attend it’s necessities and demands of the clientele “fathers and mothers of saint” make use of practices of many Afro-religions denominations. This way, the Candomblé’s rituals show up as one more add, an extra element in the amount of religious knowledge acquired along the life an in the religious life of priests, who are responsible for the “terreiros” from Macapá. Like that this study contributed to rethink the importance of the studies that involve the cultural immigration phenomena, with the installing of a new cultural system in a society in expansion, the changes that it provokes in the cultural scene that is inserted an in the cultural system in question.

O foco central é a construção da imagem desta cidade como um local violento e as contribuições do fluxo migratório para a construção da identidade e memória local. Este estudo analisa a política pública de ocupação deste espaço e as experiências e lutas dos moradores para estabelecer uma nova cidade, dentro de um processo de apagamento das vivências antigas. No contexto da ditadura militar e no universo dos Planos de Desenvolvimento e grandes projetos para a Amazônia, esta dissertação procura revelar outros sujeitos e suas narrativas, dando-lhe uma nova roupagem na medida em que se entrelaçam o rural e o urbano, constantemente alterados pelas relações que se processam nesse contexto, nos possibilitando entendê-lo pelo amplo viés da história social. Este tipo de problema não é puramente da cidade de Tailândia, mas se faz perceber em toda a Amazônia contemporânea e encontra paralelos em outros lugares, com outros sujeitos e outras vivências. No entanto, todo este universo ainda se constitui como uma história marginal, ainda pouco desvendada. / This dissertation discusses the provisory idea associated by the foundation of the Tailândia city (northeast of Pará), 1977-2000. Its main focus is the city image as a violent place and its contributions of the migratory flow for the construction of the identity and local memory. In the context of the military dictatorship in Brazil, this study analyzes the public’s occupations politics and the in habitant’s experiences to establish a new city inside a loss the old traditions. This problem is not purely of the Tailândia city, but if it makes to perceive in all the contemporary Amazônia and it finds parallels in other places, with other citizens and theirs experiences. However, this entire universe still consists as a little history, still little unmasked.

No caso da comunidade da Ilha do Combu, as estratégias de reprodução e utilização dos recursos naturais e do território inferem entre aqueles aspectos, ora através do manejo e extrativismo do açaí, que mantém 90% da renda no período de safra, ora na utilização, seleção a apropriação da memória como forma de afirmação de valores e atitudes frente à disputa pelo território, relacionando-se com a reprodução da própria comunidade enquanto sujeitos ativos, nas disputas hegemônicas de poder na atualidade. / The use of natural resources and territory overpasses echonomical, social and symbolic shappings for production and reproduction of populations said to be traditional .in the case of combu island inhabitants the strategy of using the resources and territory impact within those aspects, at times through the handling and extractivism of the açai palm tree, which supports 90 % of the budget during peak periods, at times through the use, selectionand apropriation of the memory as to consolidate values atitudes facing the dispute for the land, relating to the with the reproduction of the community itself while being active member, at the hegemonical disputes of power in the present times.

Procuramos analisar não apenas os interesses, como também às formas de ocupação, os critérios de escolhas dessas áreas, os tipos de plantio, sementes, tamanho dos terrenos, as exigências para distribuição dos lotes e permanência nas áreas de colonização, mas também o posicionamento dos colonos frente a essas questões, uma vez que entendemos que o aspecto tomado pelo núcleo agrícola reflete a relação da legislação e das medidas pensadas para administrar esse espaço, mas igualmente o modo de vida adotado pelos colonos. / This dissertation focuses on the agricultural colonization in the State of Pará (Brazil) in the last decades of the nineteenth-century, taking as reference the locality of Benevides. It examines not only the interests concerned in the ways of occupation, the principles which presided over the selection of the colonial areas, the types of planting, size and distribution of the land, but also the way the settlers understood these processes. Thus, we assume that the occupation of these colonies reflected the relationship between the laws and official measures designed to manage them, and the way of life adopted by the settlers themselves.
