Verksamhetsstyrning med datoriserade IT-verktygFalck Brismark, Helena, Gadestedt, Marlene January 2015 (has links)
Method: This study has a hermeneutic perspective as a starting point. The study has been conducted in an abdicative approach, i.e. an interaction between theory and the empirical material which contends experience with IT-tool. We have studied the IT-tool called Laps Care. The theoretical framework has been strongly influenced by the empirically material. The study is a case study with a qualitative approach in which unstructured interviews with focus groups have been made. Grounded theory has been the source of inspiration when the material has been processed and analyzed. Result & Conclusion: The interviewed in the study gave a consistent picture of the advantages and disadvantages they experienced when using the IT-tool. The study shows that there are many advantages with IT-tools in operations planning and just a few disadvantages. The advantages are for example, easier addition of temporary staff, automatic regulation of workload, and ensuring the correct time consumption to the customer. One of the disadvantages that emerged was that joint visits may be perceived as stressful. It is also concluded that the IT tool was vulnerable in the event of power failure. Contribution of the thesis: We have in this study found that perceived disadvantages of a new IT tool for a period of time can change, and then perceived as advantages. The study also contributes to IT tools that planning for activities involving people need to be flexible. It has also been shown that it is important that the IT tool takes into account all components of a business. Suggestions for future research: It has been discussed that the IT-tool, which is used in the present study, could be expanded with an additional component. If so, it would be of interest to observe how the staff experiences such a change with particular emphasis on flexibility. We are also interested to see how different generations look at the IT-tool's advantages and disadvantages. Key words: IT tools, Work planning, Communication, Time Management

IT in auditing : A descriptive study about IT-tool usage, IT knowledge, and the future digital environment for auditorsPersson-Holmes, Paul, Lyngsten, Pontus January 2020 (has links)
The audit industry is under a digital transformation where various IT-tools are being frequently used by auditors at different experience levels. It is almost impossible to perform an audit with good results without using any IT-tools. Therefore, pressure is put on audit firms, both Big 4 and Non-Big 4 firms to stay ahead or at least up to date in terms of the digital development, implementation and usage of IT-tools to not fall behind its competitors. Educating the audit team members in the different information technology systems (IT) will be of great importance so that auditors can utilize new technology and enhance audit quality. This study contributes with practical knowledge by mapping out and describing in detail how and in which IT-tools auditors spend their time in during their commitments during a typical week. Secondly, the study provides insights on the current IT-knowledge among auditors, which is a factor that influences the use of IT-tools among auditors. Further, this also includes, getting an enhanced understanding of what type of IT-knowledge that is required today, for the audit team member at a specific level, ranging from associates to partners at Big 4 and Non-big 4 firms. Thirdly, the thesis will also discuss impacts of digitalisation and advanced technologies in auditing and give an update of to what degree advanced technologies has been implemented. This was possible to accomplish through an online questionnaire and interview sessions which implied that seven different types of software are used by auditors where Spreadsheet software is one of the most frequently used IT-tools. Auditors generally use software they are familiar with and a resistance towards new software exists. The study also highlights the discussion if the implementation and use of advanced technologies is as widespread as the auditing firms are picturing it. Additionally, there is still a general lack of IT-skills among auditors, and students seeing a future in the auditing profession would have to take responsibility over their own IT-knowledge increasement alongside with educators implementing more IT-courses for students studying Business administration.

Quantified Evaluations of IT-Tools / Kvantifierade utvärderingar av IT-VerktygTillybs, Eric January 2020 (has links)
Scania CV is a premium truck, bus and engine manufacturer. At Scania there is a research and development department, in the thesis referred to as the R&D department, which delivers ITtool solutions for internal customers at Scania. After a new IT-tool has been implemented The R&D department want to be able to evaluate the benefits enabled by the IT-tool. Today the R&D department mainly identifies tangible benefits such as improved quality, saved time and saved money due to the use of a new IT-tool. The R&D department have expressed that they see room for improvement both in the phase of prioritizing between what IT-tool projects to start and in the evaluation of IT-tools. Scania often prioritize product development projects for external customers before IT-tool development projects for internal customers. The R&D department believes that the position of IT-tool projects for internal customer could be strengthen if a more comprehensive IT-tool evaluation could be implemented. This way a better case could be made to emphasize the importance of prioritizing new IT-tool projects for internal customers. The purpose of this master thesis is to create a tool to manage benefits and disbenefits of IT-tools by making the R&D department able to identify, categorize, rank and evaluate benefits and disbenefits enabled by IT-tools. The result of the thesis has been found through a literature study, multiple workshops, and semi structured interviews with employees linked to two different IT-tools A and –B together with validation in an improvement group linked to another IT-tool C. The result of the thesis is known as the IT-Tool Evaluator and consists of a list of benefit aspects with corresponding weights. Two surveys and a calculation template has been developed with the purpose to quantify how a new IT-tool fulfils these benefit aspects. One survey focus on the IT-tool user and one survey has a focus of a company perspective. The benefit aspects are visualised using radar diagrams, a score for each aspect is calculated and a total score for the IT-tool is generated. The difference in score in each of the 22 benefit aspects in the new IT-tool and the IT-tool that is being replaced decides if the new IT-tool brings a positive change (benefit) or negative change (disbenefit) in the given aspect.

An Analysis of Synergies of IT-Applications and Knowledge Management Strategies with Regard to Organizational Change.Richter, Joachim 09 1900 (has links)
Approved for public release; distribution in unlimited. / The increasing complexity of political, regulatory, and technological changes confronting many commercial as well as non-profit organizations has made radical organizational change and adaptation a central research issue. Along with these research issues a new awareness with regard to organization-internal existing knowledge and the necessity to exploit and manage this knowledge to the benefits of the organization has been arising as well. In an era of forth-coming new advanced information technologies on a nearly day-to-day basis and the increasing awareness and willingness to incorporate knowledge management strategies, organizational leaders and upper management have been craving increasingly for a beneficial combination of the latter with their efforts to implement changes successfully within their organizations. This thesis will analyze various organizational change strategies in order to provide a clearer understanding of the impact/influence of current IT-solutions exploiting existing knowledge within an organization to the benefits of successful organizational change efforts and strategies. / Lieutenant, German Navy

IT-verktyg i distribuerade team : Egenskaper i IT-verktyg för att upprätthålla god kommunikationAfram, Teodora, Westh, Beatrice January 2016 (has links)
This study is about IT-tools and communication in distributed system development teams. The purpose of this study is to identify how the members of distributed teams perceive their own communication, and to identify the characteristics that are considered important in the IT-tools to be able to maintain a good communication. To carry out this work, we did a case study where we sent out survey to a company that works distributed and that has team members both in Spain and in Sweden. We also conducted an interview with one of the respondents to be able to get deeper answers to our survey questions. The study showed that most were satisfied with the communication, but they still felt that communication could be improved. The study also showed that most respondents lacked certain qualities in their current IT-tools. The result of this study should be of interest to companies with similar conditions.

The role of cultural fitness in user resistance to information technology toolsGobbin, Renzo, n/a January 1999 (has links)
Human interactions with Information Technology tools are reproducing organisational
cultural patterns in a process similar to the evolution of human tools and language. A multidisciplinary
research in tool-mediated activity, culture, language and cognition will examine
new concepts that can be important for the design of organisationally fit Information
Technology interface tools. By using qualitative and quantitative analysis together with the
fields of anthropology, philosophy, cognitive sciences and human computer interaction this
thesis shows that cultural fitness is an important variable that can determine in a substantial
degree the rejection or adoption of a tool in organisational environment. Qualitative and
quantitative data collected from organisational simulations at the Faculty of Information
Sciences and Engineering of the University of Canberra during the period 1995-1997 has
been used and analysed.

BIM Building Information Model : Hinder & DrivkraftGovan, Ivan, Berisha, Burim January 2012 (has links)
The construction industry is a costly business such in respect of capital for most construction defects which then require rework, tear down and rebuild again. This study is meaningful awareness of tools that can reduce this best through communication and information sharing between the parties. The construction industry is known as temporary projects organizations, where the construction project consists of several actors who have to communicate and share information between them to avoid mistakes later in the build time. These actors are bounded together thus for the duration of the project, then broken when the project has reached its end. The challenge here is for these actors to apply a tool that can help and simplify communications, information sharing, and perhaps the most important aspect is to create a routine for the association and the shattering of these actors. To implement such behavior using a tool such as BIM in the industry whose size perhaps is indescribable may be a very hard task. BIM (Building Information Model) could be seen as the solution to this problem because it acts as a portal where the actors involved must sign in and communicate, share information, and eventually create a behavior, a routine for this association and division of the actors following the end of the project. The technology could help the involved from the beginning of the project, already in the model stage, break down and prevent any construction barriers when the building has been placed in the works. In the current situation used paper models, 2D models and three-dimensional models, 3D, where the last one is a part of the BIM. BIM makes it also possible to implement 4D, price calculation for the construction from beginning to end and 5D ie construction details such as what kind of wood the door is made of, what kind of concrete it is, and even the amount of cable for the construction for example. BIM is seen as a information technology used primarily in construction, where to encounter several obstacles during the implementation and use of such technology is expensive to implement in a small operation, but it creates many drivers, many agents that have implemented BIM, which ultimately pays according to those who can afford and in the current situation using it

The purpose of this thesis is to offer models and IT-supportive tools for external business intelligence for smaller to medium sized businesses. Larger businesses often have more funds and resources that continuously work to monitor the surrounding environment. However, due to the fact that small businesses lack the time and knowledge to investigate external business intelligence sufficiently, and lack appropriate funds to hire a consultant, as they are too expensive, smaller businesses rarely ever have access to these resources. Four models for external business intelligence were chosen and tested in workshops with two different companies, three different companies were approached and participated in interviews, and a study on useful IT-supporting tools for external business intelligence was conducted. The study has shown that the most suitable way to display models and IT-supportive tools is with a manual that would assist smaller to medium sized businesses with external business intelligence without the need to hire external assistance.
