CHOU, HENG-CHUNG 16 July 2003 (has links)
This research is based on ¡§GTAW¡¨ mode, toweld the premixedferrite, molybdenum, and carbon powders on SC45 carbon steel substrate. Learning from the previous experiments, a wear test under a high temperature of 450¢J, was employed to get the Ring-disk coefficients of sliding friction about 0.3, the depletion amounts to 0.67 mg Nm per million, that exhibited a better hardness and anti-wear property than the substrate. The welding layer¡¦s solidification structure was examined by XRD,SEM, EPMA and TEM. The experimental results revealed that in the layer welded with GTAW, primary dendritic arms are of eutectic solidification structures. In X sample, £]-Mo2C is located in the dendrite closed to the un-melted zone. We can see that £^ phase (dispersed phase) with the rod shape solidified in the dendrite. And then £b-Fe3Mo3C (continuous phase) solidified between the rod spacing. In Z sample, £b-Fe3Mo3C solidified as dendrite first, and then the £^ phase solidified between the inter-dendrite. The solidification path is ¡§£\ + L ¡÷ £\ + £^ + L ¡÷ £\ + £^ + L+ £b ¡÷ £^ + £b¡¨. £^ phase and £b-Fe3Mo3C are both FCC structures in an ordered phase, and the coherence of lattice is good, with a perfect orientation relationship.

From the search of identity to the rebuilding of values- the footsteps and retrospect of a professional officer

Tsai, Yu-Jung 20 August 2008 (has links)
Abstract This study seeks to identify the recognition of self-orientation and self-merit. While many papers in this area have been published by a number of scholars, the impact of the same factors on the military officers remains relatively unclear because of their specialized field, unique characteristics, and self-contained. We believe that this research issue raises a number of important questions regarding the sociology and psychology and a systematic empirical examination will go a long way in filling the theoretical and empirical gap that remains in this field. Furthermore, we hope this study can make a giant help to the future work and organizational reformation. Qualitative researching method was used in this study. Based on the cognitive psychology, I seek to determine the military officers¡¦ personal valuations under a chaos, disorder, and indistinct society from four aspects ¡V turbulence, recognition, learning, and surpass, and how can they survive under a bureaucratic system which leads to autoanalysis oscillation. This study seeks to certify practical experience is a necessary course of life from I myself¡¦s past experiences. I introspected military officers¡¦ personal valuation and identified their professional position in a state of chaos. A new view of life, therefore, was re-established from a chaotic external environment. By using scientific analysis, I test and verify personal conducts to understand the patent of human behaviour, and the physical reaction when people was attacked by the outside world. The approach we advocated not only provided a general picture including sociology, psychology, cognitive science, situated cognition, cognitive psychology, comparative psychology, and social psychology, but also endowed a strong conceptual and empirical base for future work. Key word: Identify the recognition, values, professional officer.

“I AM THE JONESES!”: DECONSTRUCTING CLASS PERFORMATIVITY AND IDENTITY FORMANTION IN BRAVO’S THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF ATLANTA

Arnold, Shari L. 08 August 2017 (has links)
The struggle for cultural intelligibility can be clearly articulated through intersections between race, class, and socioeconomic status. Judith Butler demystifies the societal symbols responsible for denoting gender through a discussion of a stable “reality” in relation to performativity. When superimposed over Butler’s gender work, class stratifications and their relevance to cultural intelligibility reflect similar concerns presented in Butler’s work. In this work, I argue that through subversive use of black female archetypes presented by Patricia Hill Collins, strategic language, and flamboyant displays of tangible wealth, characters on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta consciously perform class to resist the policing of social boundaries and to highlight their position within liminal social spaces. However, as a result of their performativity, these women violate the liminal space by patrolling class boundaries from within their social circle.

Identity and Intimacy: A Correlational or Casual Connection?

Dyk, Patricia A.H. 01 May 1987 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to investigate the correlational and casual connection between identity and intimacy development in later adolescents using lagged data and multiple measures of each construct. Developmental paths were hypothesized from four theoretically based models and designed to investigate gender and sex role orientation differences in the relationship of identity and intimacy formation. Identity was measured by the Revised Version of the Extended Objective Measure of Ego Identity Status. Both identity and intimacy were assessed by the Erikson Psychosocial Stage Inventory and the Inventory of Psychosocial Development. The Bem Sex Role Inventory and the Questionnaire Measure of Emotional Empathy were used to assess sex role orientation. Using a two-wave cross-lag panel design, the pattern of correlational dominance between identity and intimacy was examined and directionality inferred. The results indicate that when examining gender differences, with sex role identification removed from the assessment of identity and intimacy, identity appears to be a dominant precursor to intimacy for both sexes. However, sex role orientation does appear to mediate the identity/intimacy relationship, where for males femininity enhances the identity/intimacy association but does not change the general male pattern of identity predicting intimacy. For females, a masculine sex role orientation results in a pattern similar to either masculine or feminine males, while femininity is associated with a more fused connection between identity and intimacy

Sjuksköterskans erfarenhet av att misstänka barnmisshandel / The nurse´s experience of suspecting child abuse

Magnusson, Cecilia, Warlin, Linda January 2015 (has links)
Thousands of children are abused each year in Sweden. Those children may be harmed physically or psychologically, and it often leads to psychic and emotional damage. This provides consequences both for the individual and for the society. Under Swedish law, the nurse is obligated to report suspected child abuse. Despite this, research shows that only fifty percent of the actual child abuse is reported by the health care staff. The aim of this study has been to investigate the nurses' experience of suspected child abuse. It was carried out as a literature study where ten articles were reviewed. The result shows that by observing the child and parents the nurse can discover some signs and abnormal behavior in the child, parents or both. Those can point in a direction that leads to suspicion of child abuse. Nurses with long professional experience were the ones who were safest in their assessment. The nurses were also influenced by their personal experience and their own values, ethics and morals. Nurses feel that suspected child abuse is a difficult matter that evoke much emotion. It is desirable with support from management and colleagues and time for self-reflection. Education leads to increased competence and safer conclusions by the nurses. It requires a great amount of courage to want to observe and dare question. With proper knowledge the nurse has a key role in being able to identify the signs and symptoms of abuse. She will also have the opportunity to act as the child's representative to protect the children.

Riskfaktorer för depression och sjuksköterskors möjligheter att identifiera depression hos äldre : En litteraturöversikt / Riskfactors for depression and nurses’ ability to identify depression among elderly : A literature review

Augustsson, Linnea, Chamoun, Carolina January 2017 (has links)
Background: Depression is becoming more common but only half of the cases are getting diagnosed. The difficulties of getting a diagnose increases with age and the elderly have more somatic symptoms of depression. There is a huge knowledge gap within healthcare sector relating to the identification of depression and the risk factors that influence it. Aim: The aim is to highlight the risk factors that may influence the development of depression among the elderly and the opportunities nurses have to identify depression among the older people. Method: A litterature review was made on the chosen topic. Studies were searched through the databases: MEDLINE, CINAHL Complete, ASSIA and Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection. The keywords that were used was: depression, older adults, older, nurse/nurses, identify, recognize, risk factors and elderly. Friberg’s analytical method was used to analys the articles. Results: Two categories were presented in the result. The first category descibes the risk factors that may effect depression among the elderly and the second category describes the nurses possibilities to identify depression. The risk factors that may effect a depression are: quality of life and somatic impact. The nurses ability to identify depression among elderly were compiled into knowledge, education and time for dialog. Discussion: Strength and weaknesses are discussed in the method discussion while the results are discussed in relation to the purpose, background and Barkers tidalmodel in the result discussion.

Identifying Acute Care Nurses Practitioners' Knowledge, Attitudes, Behaviors and Practice on Current Thyroid Dysfunction Management in Acute Care

Chu-Peterson, Angel L., Chu-Peterson, Angel L. January 2016 (has links)
ABSTRACT Thyroid disease is one of the most common endocrine disorders in clinical practice. Critical illness is often associated with alterations in thyroid hormone functions. Thyroid dysfunction is a serious matter if managed inaccurately; it may increase morbidity and mortality. The purpose of this Doctor of Nursing Practice project is to identify the knowledge, attitudes, behaviors and practice of advanced practice nurses (acute care nurse practitioners (ACNP) and adult gerontology acute care nurse practitioners (AGACNP)) on current thyroid dysfunction management in the acute care setting. The DNP project demonstrated that most acute care nurse practitioners believe that TD screening, diagnosis and management is important in the acute care setting. The survey results also indicated that most of the AGACNP/ACNPs would initiate treatment while managing patient in an acute care setting and will likely collaborate with endocrinology for overall management or follow ups to ensure quality and comprehensive care in management of TD. Keywords: thyroid disease, thyroid dysfunction, identify, knowledge, attitudes, behaviors, acute care
