This thesis focuses on innovative approaches and using project methods in German language teaching. The theoretical part deals with the history of project method, its classification and ways that should be applied in teaching. At the same time it is evaluating its positive and negative aspects. Furthermore, the work focuses on alternative and innovative approaches in education, problem-oriented teaching and also an important role of the motivation of the pupil in the educational process. The practical part deals with exchange program of Czech and German students, which was held in the Bavarian town of Lichtenfels, and where was realized project I know my second home Lichtenfels. This work aims to verify whether the project method is appropriate and effective way of teaching, and whether it can fulfill the key competencies prescribed by the Framework Curriculum for secondary schools. Furthermore, the entire project and exchanges visit are reflected by participating students. Interviews and questionnaires, which were filled by students, showed that this method is beneficial enrichment of teaching that develops especially communicative and cognitive competencies. As societies evolve, offices have become the places were the majority of working activities take place. Occupants’ comfort in office buildings has always been a very important issue in the building sector and therefore guidelines regarding indoor comfort standards have been developed throughout the years. Nevertheless, there is a need for investments on new and innovative ideas which will go beyond the existing guidelines and move towards a more sustainable and human oriented office environment.The present thesis aims at promoting this idea of sustainable offices by developing and presenting an innovative technological method which will provide the opportunity to measure the office workers’ perceived comfort in real time. This in its turn will enable the building sector stakeholders to operate office buildings in a more sustainable way in terms of building services provision to their occupants.In order to achieve these objectives, the first part of the thesis is dedicated in describing the basic indoor environmental components of the office environment as well as the possible associations between improved indoor environmental quality and occupants’ health, wellbeing and productivity. The second part aims to provide a detailed presentation of the existing or emerging methods which are currently used in order to predict or directly measure occupants’ perceived comfort in office places while in the same time discussing their current capabilities and limitations. In the final part, our proposed method, which could be used for the purposes of real time perceived comfort measurements, is presented. This proposed method includes four different steps which are separately presented with detailed instructions regarding their proper implementation.

Processing of my thesis is focused on the possibilities of support of the first grade scholars on primary school. In this theoretical part deals with the general characteristics of pupil motivation 1st grade of primary school learning. More detailed characteristics of individual innovative teaching strategies that help to increase pupils motivation for learning, and their importance in education. In the practical part deals with research to determine how teachers think about the motivation of students in relation to the use of innovative teaching strategies and identify innovative teaching strategies and approaches used in teaching. The survey is carried out through a questionnaire completed by the teachers of the first grade of primary school.

The aim of the thesis Innovative Approaches to Czech Language Curriculum at Lower Secondary School was to discover whether any innovative approaches to subject Czech language at lower secondary schools were included in their school education programme, if the answer was positive, the aim was to define which innovative approaches exactly they were. The thesis is divided into a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part analyzes the general approach to curriculum and also the specific approach towards the Czech language. The thesis includes a brief history of the curricular reform, which was implemented in January 2005, and the opinions of the experts on the reform. The practical part contains the analysis of the innovative approaches towards the curriculum of the Czech language at the chosen thirteen lower secondary schools in the Czech Republic. A specific interest was given to innovative approaches towards the Czech language which were in agreement with the curricular reform and with the innovative didactic approaches in general. The chosen method is a comparison and the analysis of the texts. In the theoretical part of the thesis we will define the term of assessment according to the literature and we will also present different types, functions and forms of assessment. The main part of the theoretical part is focused on final verbal assessment which is currently put on the same level within the educational system by the new Education Act as the traditional mark system. The development of this way of assessment since 1989 will be reflected. Advantages and disadvantages of this kind of assessment will be summed up in the thesis. Strategies which can help the teacher to collect the materials for the final verbal assessment effectively are also to be found in the thesis. Then, there will be the comparison of traditional and final verbal assessment. The form of final verbal assessment in Great Britain and in Germany will be introduced in the next part of the thesis. In the empirical part of the thesis we will examine the way of final verbal assessment in the primary schools' practice.
