Fundação de Apoio a Pesquisa e à Inovação Tecnológica do Estado de Sergipe - FAPITEC/SE / This research seeks to analyze the media coverage on violence against women in two newspapers produced in Sergipe territory, the weekly Super Popular (out of print) and the Jornal da Cidade of daily circulation. There are part of the corpus news about the topic published in the months of July, August and September 2013, when 125 appearances of the theme were recorded. The collected material is analyzed from the Content Analysis Methodology (AC). It is possible to verify the relevance of the theme from the frequency / absence and perform reflections on these journalistic narratives through intrinsic elements to the construction of news, such as framing, treatment, line choice, developments, relevance of the topic, sources, among other criteria enabling a quantitative measurement and inferences about the production of meaning presented by vehicles (qualitative elements). From the collected data and created categories we could make interpretations which allowed us to conclude both the relevance of the subject matter and the need for media treatment more careful and reflective. / Esta pesquisa busca analisar a cobertura midiática sobre a violência contra a mulher em dois jornais impressos produzidos e veiculados no território sergipano, o semanário Super Popular (fora de circulação) e o Jornal da Cidade, de circulação diária. Fazem parte do corpus notícias relativas ao tema publicadas nos meses de julho, agosto e setembro de 2013, quando foram registradas 125 aparições da temática. O material coletado é analisado a partir da metodologia de Análise de Conteúdo (AC). Sendo possível verificar a pertinência do tema a partir da freqüência/ausência, bem como realizar reflexões sobre essas narrativas jornalísticas através de elementos intrínsecos à construção de notícias, como enquadramento, tratamento, escolha da rubrica, desdobramentos, relevância do tema, fontes, entre outros critérios que possibilitam mensuração quantitativa e inferências acerca da produção de sentido apresentada pelos veículos (elementos qualitativos). A partir dos dados coletados e das categorias criadas foi possível fazer interpretações que nos permitiram chegar à conclusão tanto da pertinência do tema quanto da necessidade de um tratamento midiático mais cuidadoso e reflexivo. / São Cristóvão, SE
