[en] HEIDEGGER AND THE POSSIBILITY OF THE NEW / [pt] HEIDEGGER E A POSSIBILIDADE DO NOVO

ROBERTO WU 14 March 2007 (has links)
[en] The new overpasses the Heideggerian philosophy, in the horizon of its philosophical questioning, as a whole. This shows itself since its studies about the time of Kairos in the Phenomenology of Religion, in the interpretation of the Aristotelian phronesis as understanding of the each time of the factical life, in the approaching of the abyssal character of the human existence in Being and time, in the thought concerned to the notion of origin, in the possibility of instauration of another start in a non-Metaphysical way, with the Ereignis in Contributions to Philosophy, to list few of the several topics that Heidegger developed. From the starting point that being hides itself mostly, these subjects are related with the conception of the truth as an irruption of the Being, an event that occurs through an incisive time. There are many ways for which Heidegger approached the question of Being, but there is one way of thinking the new that remains underlying to all of them, much even so, in a guarded way. The new occurs as an inaugurating abyss in the incisive instant, repeating and anticipating the possibility that remained reserved in the Metaphysics; the task consists of a retrieval of the originary in an appropriation of a leap, so that the oldest one than the old one can be disclosed as the new.

The Experience of Freedom: A Leap of Faith / La experiencia de la libertad: un salto de fe

Valdez, Martín 10 April 2018 (has links)
This paper seeks to interpret Fear and Trembling’s paradox of faith together with Kant’s examination of the problem of freedom, in order to reconcile Kierkegaard’s thought with rationalism, but at the same time, to enrich the latter with a more existential language. It argues that, at the ground of all ethics, a certain experience beyond the limits of reason is found, albeit not an irrational one.

Valcourt-Blouin, Maxime 24 April 2018 (has links)
The present work addresses Kierkegaard's oeuvre from the angle of two notions present in it, primitivity and subjectivity. To do so, an analysis of imagination and passion, of their various functions and of their mutual relations proves itself necessary to the extent that primitivity and subjectivity are linked in the kierkegaardian corpus to these two human faculties. Taking as fulcrum our analysis of these two notions, we shall seek to give an account of their presence in three complementary facets of Kierkegaard's philosophical creation : his conception of the stages of existence, his theory of communication and the application of this theory in his writings. Since primitivity and subjectivity are "possibilities of spirit", since they make spiritual existence possible, our work seeks to be an analysis of the kierkegaardian discourse in its way of understanding humans as both cognitive and affective, these two dimensions of humans being crucial for understanding how they access authentic human and Christian existence.

Artful living and the eradication of worry in Søren Kierkegaard's interpretation of Matthew 6:24-34

Warhurst, Paul January 2011 (has links)
Danish thinker Søren Kierkegaard published fourteen discourses, across four collections, on Matthew 6:24-34. The repeated readings of the biblical text, whose themes include the choice between God and mammon, worry, what it means to consider the birds and lilies, and how to seek first the kingdom of God, converge with Kierkegaard's interest in anxiety, despair, worry, subjectivity, indirect communication, choice, the moment, and life before God. Accordingly, the discourses make connections with his larger works, elucidate frequently explored Kierkegaardian themes in recent scholarship, and contribute to his critique of nineteenth-century Copenhagen. Additionally, the collections present an interpretation of each verse and phrase of Matthew's text and, held up against modern Matthew scholarship, they correlate with and contribute to Sermon on the Mount and New Testament studies. Kierkegaard's reading of Matthew also holds implications for the practice of biblical interpretation as it promotes the importance of awareness of sin, interestedness, and appropriation as central to proper reading. His emphasis on Christ as the primary exemplar of Matthew's text adds an additional Christological element to his hermeneutic. Furthermore, the discourses serve as spiritual treatises which provide the reader with theological terminology to help confront the problem of worry and suffering. In light of a human being's distinctiveness as imago Dei, Kierkegaard elucidates ways an individual may respond artfully to the ongoing possibility of worry, a possibility which the discourses connect with Christian anthropology and external labels associated with possessions and status. The Matthew 6 discourses intimate Kierkegaard's sympathy with classic Christian spirituality and, in combination with the cultural-ecclesiastical critique, the creative exegesis, and the in-depth analysis of the cause of and cure for worry, his work emerges as an excellent example of spiritual theology.

Caballero Medina, Nicolás January 2012 (has links)
