Sociální aspekty života žen samoživitelek / Social Aspects of the Life of Single Mothers

The thesis deals with the issue of single parenthood from the perspective of women mothers. The main aim of the thesis was to survey the attitude of lone mothers - mothers of minor children - to the single parenthood. To generally describe the impact, which a termination of a partnership may have on a lone woman a mother raising minor child/children. What living circumstances she has to face and what lifestyle they chose at this stage of their lives. And finally, what forms of help they use. The text is divided into two parts theoretical and practical one. First chapter of the theoretical part deals with the family and its mission, what functions the family should fulfil in relation to its individual members and what could be the results if these functions are disrupted. The chapter is completed with the view of parenthood, which significantly changes the proper functioning of a family. Chapter two describes the crisis in partnership or marriage resulting in single parenthood. Furthermore, various forms related to child care after separation of partners are mentioned as well as potential impacts of the separation on the family. The third chapter discusses the maintenance and potential support, which single mother may receive from the state, surroundings or family. Finally, the chapter assesses the potential of women single mothers on the labour market. For the practical part of the thesis, a questioning technique was chosen and used in semi-structured interviews. The examined group consisted of fifteen women single mothers, aged 25-55, living in the district of Písek, having been at least six months after a divorce/separation and taking care of minor children. Women, who involuntarily become single mothers due to the partner´s death, were not included in the examined group. In connection with the thesis objective, two survey questions were asked: "How do lone women mothers of minor children - deal with single parenthood?" and "What support provided by the family, surroundings or the state do the lone women mothers of minor children use?". The survey has revealed that the majority of communication partners faces difficult financial situation caused by the loss of a second income or generally deteriorated potential on the labour market due to the necessity to combine work and child care without the support of the second partner and in many cases due to the improper fulfilment of maintenance obligations by fathers. Almost half of the communication partners has experienced such a situation, when the obliged parent fails to fulfil his maintenance obligation properly. Among other issues connected with the single parenthood, many communication partners mentioned the feeling of loneliness, lack of the father´s interest in his children, compromises they have to make when choosing a job or activities for their leisure time. The survey has shown that majority of the communication partners spends most of their leisure time by taking care of children or the household. The thesis may be used as a study material for students with social and legal specialization, as an introduction to the issue. In addition, women who experienced divorce/separation may utilize it as one of prospective manuals for the solution to their difficult situation.

Nesse sentido, foram escolhidos como objeto de pesquisa empresas do segundo setor da economia, o da indústria, no município de São Carlos—SP, que tinham o dever de empregar pessoas com deficiências. Para tanto, o método utilizado foi o estudo de caso e a investigação do tipo quantitativo e qualitativo. Após contato com a Delegacia Regional do Trabalho de São Carlos – SP obteve-se a informação de que, no segundo setor desta cidade, havia 28 empresas que deveriam cumprir a Lei de Cotas e, com essa informação, foram convidadas 28 empresas para participar do estudo; mas apenas uma aceitou. Pode-se perceber que, no que tange à inclusão na escola ainda há a ocorrência do preconceito e da discriminação. Assim, ela ainda não está preparada para atender pessoas com deficiência seja por questões estruturais, pedagógicas ou de profissionais capacitados. É um ambiente que ainda requer mudanças. Acerca do trabalho, este ambiente também sofre com preconceito e discriminação, porém nele, as pessoas com deficiência se vêem como agentes de transformação... / This study was about the relationship between school trajectory and inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labor market in São Carlos-SP. For both decided to focus on the identification of persons with disabilities employed in companies and might, by their experiences, reporting that the perception of their school and impressions about the inclusion in school and at work. Thus we sought to reflect on the process of inclusion at the moment is through the historical achievements and promotion of specific laws such as the Quota Law (providing percentages for hiring people with disabilities and also with companies Moreover, through the Law of Directives and Bases of National Education, which highlights exclusive chapter to Special Education. In this sense, were chosen as subjects of research companies in the second sector of the economy, the industry in the municipality of São Carlos-SP who had the duty to employ people with disabilities. Thus, the method used was case study and the research was quantitative and qualitative. After contact with the Regional Labor Office of San Carlos - SP obtained the information that in the second sector of this city, there were 28 companies that should meet the Quota Law, and with this information, 28 companies were invited to participate in the study, but only one accepted. You can see that, with respect to the inclusion in school there is the occurrence of prejudice and discrimination. Thus it is not yet ready to serve persons with disabilities is by structural issues, or educational professionals. It is an environment that also requires changes. About the work, this environment also suffers from prejudice and discrimination, but it, people with disabilities see themselves as agents of change because this space more flexibly to changes in relation to school. The biggest problem of any market is its imbalance; such an imbalance in the labour market is called unemployment. The aim of my dissertation is to analyse the labour market in Tábor region, i.e. to assess job opportunities and employment and/or unemployment development and to propose possible solutions resulting in an unemployment decrease. Controlled interviews with the staff of the Tábor Labour Office, the Internet, the Czech Statistical Office information, specialized literature, regulations and laws and annual reports on the situation in the labour market in Tábor were the main information sources for my dissertation. My dissertation contributes to the situation with recommendations regarding an improvement of the labour market in Tábor region, which are based on the data established in my dissertation.

The Czech Republic became a member state of the European union in 1. May 2004 and joined in the European Employment Services (EURES). All Czech people have the right to live, work and study in all member states of the European Union. In my theoretical part of work I described the system EURES, which educational and working chances have students abroad. I also desribed living and working conditions in 5 states (the states, where people wanted to go). The states: Great Britain, Germany, Austria, Ireland and France. In practical part of my work I found out, in which countries of the EU and branch people want to work , which languages they can speak and awareness of the EURES among the students.

The Demography of Employment in a Swedish County Council: Estimation and Mapping of Manpower Statistics in Östergötland

The changing requirements in the modern labour market have led to a new form of economic geography of employment, where skills, wages and the uncertainty of employment play a primary role in the spatial division of labour. The main purpose of this project is to investigate the use of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) as a tool to illustrate employment and unemployment in Östergötland County for giving information on the development of the labour market. In addition, the use of GIS for population data analysis with the help of Oracle’s map viewer is closely examined. This descriptive thesis reveals that the labour market is characterized by the geographic extension of the market and its determination by how far the supply and demand forces go and the important role that GIS plays in illustrating the distribution of workforce in Östergötland’s labour market. GIS is an analytical tool for employer/employee demographics that can be used for visualization but also for analysis and pre-processing purposes with the use of graphic tools. With the use of thematic maps, GIS can visualise spatial data with labour data according to certain demographic criteria. GIS technology has ways of mapping thematically the local labour market demand and supply. In addition, it is capable of constructing a comprehensive workforce development system that can integrate the job seekers and employers. GIS can facilitate the development of visual web-based mapping systems that allow users to investigate and find employees within various industries.

Le processus de libéralisation initié en Inde à partir des années 1980 s’est accompagné d’une multitudede changements économiques, politiques et sociaux qui ont participé à modifier l’organisation et lastructure de l’emploi. Ces changements structurels ont par ailleurs redessiné les pratiques migratoiresau gré des besoins de main-d’oeuvre. L’objet de ces travaux de recherche est d’étudier comment lastructuration des marchés du travail en Inde a participé à modifier les flux de migrations internes, maiségalement de s’intéresser à l’évolution de ces pratiques migratoires. Pour cela, nous proposons uneapproche multi-scalaire des liens entre marchés de l’emploi et mouvements migratoires, menéeconjointement à des niveaux micro et macro. Ainsi, après avoir effectué une revue de littérature desthéories migratoires, nous traitons dans une première partie les liens entre marché du travail etmigration de travail au niveau macro-économique. Pour cela, nous avons identifié pour les différentesrégions de l’Inde une typologie des marchés du travail à partir de laquelle les flux de migrations ontété spatialisés. Dans une seconde partie, le niveau micro a été privilégié et les résultats présentéss’appuient sur un travail de terrain mené entre 2010 et 2014 dans le Sud de l’Inde (Tamil Nadu). Ils’agit, à partir d’une approche mixte combinant des méthodes quantitatives et qualitatives, d’étudier lacirculation du travail en milieu rural tamoul. Cette démarche nous a permis d’identifier une variété deformes de migrations de travail aux logiques singulières ; nous parlons alors de diversification depratiques migratoires. / The multiple economic, political and social changes that occurred in India since the liberalizationprocess initiated in the 1980’s altered the organization and the structure of labour. These structuralchanges reshaped migratory practices depending on workforce demand. This dissertation examineshow the labour market structuration in India has contributed to changing internal migration flows andhow migratory practices evolved. Therefore, to identify the links between labour markets andmigration flows, this study combines macro and micro levels of analysis. The dissertation is organizedas follows. The literature review synthetizes migration theories. Then, in the first part, we propose amacroeconomic analysis of the links between labour market and migration. Through a labour markettypology elaborated for different regions of India, we spatialize migration flows. In the second part,with a microeconomic focus and a mixed approach that combines both qualitative results from ourfieldwork conducted between 2010 and 2014 and quantitative results, we study the evolutions oflabour migration in rural Tamil Nadu. We identify migration patterns and establish the existence of adiversity of migratory practices.
