Discute-se neste trabalho a importância de um método para análise técnica de uma dada infraestrutura visto a necessidade atual pela busca do aproveitamento de estruturas já existentes. Cada vez mais empresas buscam agregar serviços multimídia (voz, vídeo e dados) à sua estrutura corporativa, integrando a empresa como um todo, reduzindo custos e aproveitando a infraestrutura de comunicação existente. Com essa perspectiva, o trabalho propõe um método para avaliação técnica que determine, se uma infraestrutura instalada suportaria os requisitos necessários para oferecer os serviços da tecnologia IPTV, baseando-se na avaliação dos requisitos dos parâmetros de QoS quando implementado estes serviços. / The importance of a method is discussed in this work for technical analysis of a given infrastructure when the current necessity was seen by the search of the use of already existent structures. More and more enterprises look for collect services multimedia (voice, video and data) to his corporative structure, integrating the enterprise as a whole, reducing costs and leveraging the infrastructure of existent communication. With this perspective, this paper proposes a method for technical evaluation that it determines, if a given installed infrastructure will support the necessary requisites to offer the services of the IPTV technology, being based on the evaluation of the requisites of the parameters of QoS when these services were implemented.

The goal of this diploma thesis is to assess the suitability and readiness of the Slovak Republic to adopt a single European currency. In analyzing the costs and benefits relating to Slovakia?s accession to the EMU, this thesis is guided by the theory of the OCA. The thesis provides a survey of the OCA theory, attempts to measure some of the OCA indicators and calculate OCA index for Slovakia. The results suggest that Slovakia fulfils the necessary condition for joining the monetary union, i.e. it is relatively well aligned with the euro area. The diploma thesis concludes that Slovakia is relatively suitable and well-prepared to join the euro area in 2009.

Grande parte do sucesso do Google provêm do algoritmo Page Rank, que avalia quantitativamente a importância de cada página na web. Esta ordenação é obtida através do vetor estacionário de uma matriz estocástica específica, utilizando o Método das Potências. A velocidade de convergência deste método será avaliada em detalhe, já que se trata de uma resposta imediata da pesquisa do usuário. Afim de entender as diferentes situações que o modelo pode enfrentar, diversas simulações são apresentadas neste trabalho. Em particular, estamos interessados nos fatores que influenciam a velocidade de convergência. Para tanto, o número de páginas total e de cada conjunto fechado, bem como o número de conjuntos fechados e de nós pendentes foram estudados. / Great part of Google\'s success comes from the Page Rank algorithm, wich quantitatively evaluates the importance of each page on the web. This sort is achieved through a specific stochastic matrix stationary vector, using the Power Method. The convergency speed of this method will be evaluated in details, since this is a imediate response for the user search. In order to understand the diferent situations the model can confront, several simulations are shown in this work. In particular, we are interested in the factors which influences the convergency speed. For that, the total and inside each closed set number of pages and also the closed sets and dangling nodes numbers were studied.

Introduzimos uma familia de trajetorias aleatorias coalescentes com certo tipo de comportamento radial a qual chamaremos de Teia Poissoniana radial discreta. Mostramos que o limite fraco na escala difusiva desta familia e uma familia de trajetorias aleatorias coalescentes que chamaremos de Teia Browniana radial. Por m, caraterizamos o objeto limite como um mapeamento continuo da Teia Browniana restrita num subconjunto de R2. / We introduce a family of coalescing random paths with certain kind of radial behavior. We call them the discrete radial Poisson Web. We show that under diusive scaling this family converges in distribution to a family of coalescing random paths which we call radial Brownian Web. Finally, we characterize the limiting object as a continuous mapping of the Brownian Web restricted to a subset of R2.

No presente trabalho, nós consideramos a função Tn, definida em X^n e tomando valores entre 1 e infinito. Tn será o primeiro tempo que demora sequência de tamanho n, digamos w, em aparecer de novo sobre uma sequência infinita do processo que começa com w. Este tempo é conhecido como o tempo de retorno. Seja Sn(w) = n - Tn(w) o nosso objeto de estudo, definido também em X^n e tomando valores entre menos infinito e n-1. A função Sn foi colocada em evidência, entre outros casos, na análise estatística da Recorrência de Poincaré, e possui relação explícita com a entropia do processo. Abadi e Lambert, provaram a convergência da distribuição de Sn, quando a sequência é escolhida de acordo com a medida produto de n variáveis aleatórias independentes e identicamente distribuídas no alfabeto e como consequência, mostraram a convergência da esperança de Sn. Nosso trabalho consiste em generalizar o trabalho feito por Abadi e Lambert para processos com uma condição de dependência \\beta-mixing. / We consider the set of finite sequences of length n over a finite or countable alphabet X . We consider the function defined over X^n, Sn = n-\"the first return\". Abadi and Lambert, computed the exact distribution and the limiting distribution of the Sn when the sequence is generated by independent and identically distributed random variables. Our work consists in a generalization of the work done by Abadi and Lambert to processes that verify the \\beta-mixing condition and \\{Xn\\}_{n\\inN} takes values over finite or countable alphabet.

In these models, we can use Newton s iterative method for approximating solutions, starting from an initial approximation which is assumed to be sufficiently good. The goal of this work is to give a proof that, under the assumptions of Smale s theorem, the method converges Qquadratically. The proof presented is based on some results proved by João Xavier e Orizon Ferreira, which improve previous results giving only the R-quadratic convergence of the method. / Muitos problemas de física, engenharia, ecomomia e outras ciências são modelados de maneira muito conveniente por sistemas não lineares. Nestes casos, podemos usar o método de Newton, que é um método iterativo, no sentido de garantir a convergência a uma solução, supondo que o ponto inicial usado como aproximação da mesma é suficientemente bom. O objetivo deste trabalho é dar uma demonstração, baseada nos resultados obtidos por João Xavier e Orizon Ferreira, que o Método de Newton sob as hipóteses do Teorema de Smale converge Q-quadraticamente e como conseqüência esses autores deduziram um erro estimado, o que configura um resultado novo, uma vez que, apenas a convergência R-quadrática foi obtida.

This study follows the ideas discussed in the work of Wang [30, 31]. / Nesta dissertação é feito um estudo detalhado das estimativas exatas para o raio da bola de convergência do método de Newton e da bola de unicidade de solução de equações em espaços de Banach, acrescentamos ainda uma estimativa para o raio da bola do teorema da função inversa. A arquitetura de sistema proposta é baseada no Modelo de Referência de Processamento Distribuído Aberto (RMODP - Reference Model Open Distributed Processing) e pode ser implementada em objetos distribuídos. Como uma possível aplicação do sistema é apresentado um Escritório Móvel Convergente para o trabalho do arqueólogo em um sítio arqueológico. / This thesis presents the proposal for an Open Distributed Processing Architecture for Applications in a Convergent Mobile Office (EMC). The EMC is a mobile portable device that makes available the office services, with access to databases and also wireless communication. The word Convergent refers to the convergence of the technologies of Internet, mobile telephony and digital television, available in a single mobile device. The system architecture proposed is based on the Reference Model of Open Distributed Processing (RMODP) and it can be implemented in distributed objects. As a possible application of the system is presented a Convergent Mobile Office for the archeologist\'s work in an archeological site.

O recente processo de convergência econômica de Irlanda e Portugal para os níveis dos países industrializados da Europa Ocidental, é um interessante caso de estudo sobre os principais fatores causadores do crescimento econômico, os motivadores do sucesso de certos países em relação a outros, principalmente quando se observa que, a partir do novo milênio, Portugal não vem sendo bem sucedido em tentar manter o processo de convergência, ao contrário da Irlanda, que inclusive, superou os níveis de renda per capita de países como Alemanha, França e Reino Unido. O estudo se mostra interessante também, por compreender duas nações que apresentaram taxas de crescimento do PIB e do PIB per capita após se integrarem à União Européia, apesar de terem ocorrido grandes diferenças entre os dois países no aproveitamento de seus ingressos à comunidade econômica. / The early process of economic convergence of Ireland and Portugal to the industrialized contries´ levels is an interest case about the economic growth factors and the reasons for the success of some contries instead anothers, mainly when can be observed that Portugal, after new millenium, couldn´t maintain the convergence process. Ireland, on the other hand, exceed the levels of income per capita of coutries like Germany, France and United Kingdom. The another reason for the interest of this study is because the period of convergence occurred after the junction of the both countries to the European Union, although the differences between the two countries in the exploitation of the economic community.
