Tjänsteorienterad arkitektur med AJAX : Service oriented architecture with AJAX

Ekman, Nils January 2008 (has links)
Through the entry of web 2.0 the technologies behind web development has changed dramatically. Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) is the umbrella term for different techniques that make it possible to build rich and interactive user interfaces in today’s web browsers. Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) describes how common services can be bundled and published so they can be consumed by different systems. The company SYSteam Evolution AB, which has requested this project, wanted a web application that shows a graphical activity chart in order to easier view ongoing projects. The goal for this project is to develop a demo platform that shows how AJAX and SOA can be used to create flexible and reusable applications. To reach the goals, many different frameworks and technologies need to cooperate and work together. This report will describe the different technologies that have been used and explain the different steps in the development job. The result of the work has lead to a demo platform that uses many different technologies to show a graphical activity chart. The job requestor and the author are very pleased with the result of the work.

Pimp My Test Process : Introducing Test Automation and Process Maturity in an IT Consulting Context / Pimp My Test Process : Testautomation och processmognad på ett IT-konsultföretag

Lindahl, Eric January 2012 (has links)
Ipendo Systems in Linköping, Sweden, is a small IT consulting firm developing among other things custom portal applications based on Microsoft Sharepoint 2010. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether the test tools TestComplete and LoadComplete provide sufficient compatibility for functional and non-functional testing of Ipendo Systems’ Sharepoint based applications, as well as design testing related activities to be incorporated into their existing software development framework. A test process maturity framework was chosen and applied for the design of the testing activities, while the test tool investigation resulted in guidelines on how to apply the tools effectively and circumvent any issues discovered.

Incident Management System

Lindeström, Christian, Carlsson, Joakim January 2011 (has links)
This dissertation for a bachelor project in computer science at Karlstad University will describe how to conquer a challenge suggested by Tieto: How to create a secure Incident Reporting System with a high level of confidentiality and security for the contents. The system should be easy to use and encourage incident reporting, open for changes and statistics gathering, for those with the relevant authority. The result will be a requirement specification and a prototype incident management system that matches those requirements. Any employee of Tieto will be able to submit an incident report and the system will notify a security administrator at Tieto who will solve the problem. The system will be able to gather information and statistics regarding incidents which can be used as decision support.

Jämförelse av aggregeringswebbdelar i MOSS 2007 / Comparison of aggregationwebparts in MOSS 2007

Aghili, Mohammed January 2010 (has links)

Process evaluation of general data migration guidelines : A comparative study

Eng, Dennis January 2010 (has links)
Information systems form the backbone of many organizations today and are vital for their daily activities. For each day these systems grows bigger and more customized to the point where it is heavily integrated in the current platform. However, eventually the platform grows obsolete and the system itself becomes an obstacle for further development. Then the question arises, how do we upgrade the platform while retaining customizations and data? One answer is data migration which essentially is the process of moving data from one device to another. The problems of data migration becomes evident with extensive and heavily customized systems which effectively lead to the absence of any general guidelines for data migration. This thesis attempts to take a first step in finding and testing a set of general migration guidelines that might facilitate the creation of future migration projects. This is achieved using a comparative analysis of the general migration guidelines contra the process of migrating data between different editions of the Microsoft SharePoint framework. The analysis attempts to find out if the general guidelines are general enough for this migration process and leave it to future research to further assess their generality. This paper will also investigate the importance of using incremental migration and the ability to perform structural change during migration as well as how these issues is handled by the built in migration tool of SharePoint. In the end the general guidelines proved to be sufficient to express the SharePoint migration process and should therefore be used for further research to assess their worth in other projects. In terms of the second issue, the built-in migration tool proved weak in handling either incremental migration nor structural change which is unfortunate due to the benefits these features bring.

Jämförelse av användbarhet mellan integrerat intranät och e-post och separat intranät och e-post vid arbete med möteshantering

Sandström, Einar January 2007 (has links)

Automatic generation of production reports using   SharePoint

Rhodin, Daniel January 2017 (has links)
This study investigates different ways to use Microsoft SharePoint to publish data in the form of charts and tables from a software system as a part of a business intelligence effort. The purpose is to provide accurate and up-to-date statistics automatically on a corporate website instead of manually creating it. An application was developed to serve as middleware between the SharePoint server and the data source. Different options were analyzed, both client-side and server-side components. It was found that using the SharePoint .NET client API is an efficient way to achieve this goal, especially in an IT environment where development of SharePoint server-side components isn’t a viable option due to IT security concerns. The study describes a way to initiate a small-scale BI implementation without large budgets or firm commitments in the organization. It uses a web collaboration tool that is common in larger businesses and shows a way to interface in-house developed data sources. What SharePoint API to use was restricted from a IT security and stability standpoint in this thesis. This restriction is likely to apply also on other larger organizations where a similar initiative is driven from outside the IT department. It was found that automating the generation of production reports could save significant time compared to manually creating them.

Development of a customer support process tool in SharePoint Online

Larsson, Andreas January 2015 (has links)
Management thinking has changed focus from bringing in new customers to under- standing the significance of maintaining existing customers and the need to attain loyalty with these customers. This has increased the importance of keeping good customer relationships. One important element to attain good customer relations is through a solid customer support. In this thesis a customer support approach for a software consultancy company has been implemented. The goal was to create a SharePoint Online application that would work as a single point of contact for the customers to improve the issue resolution process. Requirements elicitation was done through five customer interviews to obtain opinions and needs. Moreover, based on the customer requirements a workshop were held with developers from the consultancy firm to design a workflow proto- type. The final result is a customer-centered process that takes reported issues and manages the tickets through the issue life cycle until the issue is resolved. The approaches relies heavily on light-weight feedback in terms of mail notifications, reminders, and automatic assignment of tasks. The new process was developed in SharePoint Online and implemented using SharePoint Designer.

VYUŽITÍ PORTÁLOVÝCH TECHNOLOGIÍ V BI PROJEKTECH / THE USE OF PORTAL TECHNOLOGIES IN BI PROJECTS

Vácha, Štěpán January 2010 (has links)
In current BI projects, the main emphasis is not put on the process of working with data anymore. The main focus is on working with information -- on technologies and applications that enable to put the data into context and that make possible for the users to get access to information which they use during a decision process. The theme of the thesis is the analysis of possible ways the portal technologies that are incorporated in portal products can be used for working with information from BI systems. The aim of the thesis is to analyze the possibilities of enterprise portal from the viewpoint of its usefulness as a part of company's BI solution. Another objective is to evaluate the situation of the portal products market and to analyze the potentialities of the Microsoft Sharepoint 2010 portal product. The thesis is divided into two logical parts. The first part contains definitions of the terms connected to BI and enterprise portals. It also deals with general evaluation of the potentialities of portal technologies for BI and with evaluation of the portal products market situation. The second part focuses on Sharepoint 2010 -- the latest portal product from Microsoft. This part contains Sharepoint 2010 functionality evaluation considering the individual versions of this product. Further, the position of Sharepoint 2010 in Microsoft's current BI strategy is analyzed. The potentialities of the product as a part of Microsoft BI solution are evaluated. A company that considers buying a portal product can use the thesis as a source of general information about portal technologies and their usefulness in a company's BI. The thesis also offers up-to-date information about the current situation of the portal products' market. If the company considers buying Sharepoint 2010 portal product, the thesis is a source of detailed information which can contribute to a quick and high-quality decision on the suitability and availability of this solution.
