Previous issue date: 2008-06-13 / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico / The present master's dissertation had the objective to analyze the types of responses the programmes of work and income, its limits and possibilities as mechanisms for reintegration of unemployed in the market of work, in the city of São Paulo, between 2001 to 2006. The search started the idea that the answers are limited and palliatives front to the increase of the unemployment and the precarization of the market of work. The work was supported in bibliographical survey, of documents and empirical research with the beneficiaries of the programs, social workers and managers. The study showed that the social programs of work and income meet partially a share of the demands of work and income of a parcel of the poor population and do not guarantee the reintegration in the market of work. The types of answers were the granting of aid-money to smooth the difficulties of the population about the lack of work; responsibility of the person by their situation of unemployment, the spread of alternative forms of employment and generation of income through self - employment forms and associations of different modalities / A presente dissertação de mestrado teve o objetivo de analisar os tipos de respostas dos programas de trabalho e renda, seus limites e possibilidades como mecanismos de reinserção de desempregados no mercado de trabalho, na cidade de São Paulo, entre 2001 a 2006.
A pesquisa partiu da idéia de que as respostas são limitadas e paliativas frente ao aumento do desemprego e à precarização do mercado de trabalho. O trabalho apoiou-se em levantamento bibliográfico, de documentos e pesquisa empírica junto a beneficiários dos programas, assistentes sociais e gestor.
O estudo revelou que os programas sociais de trabalho e renda atendem parcialmente as demandas de trabalho e renda de uma parcela da população pobre e não garantem a reinserção no mercado de trabalho.
Os tipos de respostas encontradas foram a concessão de um auxílio-monetário para suavizar as dificuldades da população em relação à falta de trabalho; responsabilização da pessoa por sua situação de desemprego; a propagação de formas alternativas de trabalho e geração de renda, através do auto-emprego e de formas associativas de distintas modalidades

毛澤東的文藝思想主要包含了馬克思主義,中國傳統文化,以及二十世紀中
國革命思潮三個來源,這三者之間並非全無扞格,但是毛澤東卻是採取一種
相當實用的態度來處理這些不同的思維.其間的判準並不全是基於推動革
命事業的需求,還包括了毛澤東相當個人化的忖度與反應,包括他的世界
觀,他的欣賞情趣,以及他對權力地位的佔有欲望.這使得在毛澤東文藝思
想宰制下的中國文藝歷史,呈現出一種多變的,不穩定的,壓抑且扭曲的面
貌.除了歷史情境的因素,以及與毛澤東個人因素之間的互動探討之外,筆
者也指出了馬克思主義文藝觀演變之下,文藝的革命性被政治實踐要求扭
曲,以及革命文藝對於文藝歷史扭曲的結構性因素.於是,文藝的實用性從
事實認定轉變為本質認定,其極至的結果,使得文藝淪為政治的宣傳工具.
中共在新時期主導中國大陸的文藝思想,與毛澤東文藝思想的最大區別,在
於知識份子的地位從工農兵文藝原則下的尷尬地位解放出來,這對於中國
大陸文藝的多元發展,起著根本的正面作用.但無論如何,文藝的首要價值
仍是受到非文藝的因素決定,在中共政權之下,加在文藝工作者身上的束縛
仍是存在的.

Isotopes as Mechanism Spies : Nucleophilic Bimolecular Substitution and Monoamine Oxidase B Catalysed Amine Oxidation Probed with Heavy Atom Kinetic Isotope EffectsMacMillar, Susanna January 2006 (has links)
<p>This thesis concerns the study of reaction mechanisms by means of kinetic isotope effects (KIEs). Studies of the nucleophilic bimolecular substitution (S<sub>N</sub>2) reaction had the dual purpose of improving our fundamental understanding of molecular reactivity and assessing the ability of kinetic isotope effects to serve as mechanistic tools. The transition state of the S<sub>N</sub>2 reaction between a cyanide ion and ethyl chloride in tetrahydrofuran was found to be reactant like and only slightly tighter than has been found previously for the same reaction in dimethyl sulphoxide. One conclusion was that the transition-state structure in this reaction was predicted fairly well by the theoretical calculations, even without solvent modelling. The S<sub>N</sub>2 reactions between cyanide ions and <i>para</i>-substituted benzyl chlorides were found to have reactant-like transition states, of which the C<sub>α</sub>-Cl bond was most influenced by the <i>para</i>-substitution. Theoretical calculations indicated that the chlorine KIEs could be used as probes of the substituent effect on the C<sub>α</sub>-Cl bond if bond fission was not too advanced in the transition state. Furthermore, the nucleophile carbon <sup>11</sup>C/<sup>14</sup>C KIEs were determined for the reactions between cyanide ions and various ethyl substrates in dimethyl sulphoxide.</p><p>Precision conductometry was employed to estimate the aggregation status of tetrabutylammonium cyanide in tetrahydrofuran and in dimethyl sulphoxide, which is of interest as tetrabutylammonium cyanide is frequently used as the nucleophilic reagent in mechanistic investigations and synthetic reactions. The tendency for ion-pair formation was found to be very slight, significant, and very strong in dimethyl sulphoxide, water, and tetrahydrofuran, respectively. </p><p>The nitrogen kinetic isotope effect on monoamine oxidase B catalysed deamination of benzylamine was determined in an attempt to obtain conclusive evidence regarding the mechanism of the oxidation. Monoamine oxidase is an important drug target in connection with the treatment of, for example, depression and Parkinson’s disease, and knowledge on how the enzyme effects catalysis would facilitate the design of highly selective and efficient inhibitors.</p>

Strike Fever: Labor Unrest, Civil Rights and the Left in Atlanta, 1972Waugh-Benton, Monica 03 August 2006 (has links)
This thesis aims to provide a history of African American working class and Leftist activism in Atlanta, Georgia during the early 1970s. It places a series of wildcat strikes within the context of political and social transition, and charges unequal economic conditions and a racially charged discriminatory environment as primary causes. The legacies of both the Civil Rights Movement and the New Left are identified as key contributing factors to this wave of labor unrest. One path taken by former Civil Right activists was to focus on poor peoples’ movements, and one course taken by the 1960s-era New Left activists was to join forces with the working class in an attempt to build a New Communist movement. In Atlanta, these two forces converged and generated a notable force against some of city’s most prominent employers.

蔣中正和毛澤東,同為二十世紀中國的重要領導人物,其影響不僅是在政治上,更在軍事上。兩人都是偉大的戰略指導者和軍事理論家,或者至少他們的追隨者如此宣稱。在超越領袖崇拜的今天,這個形容仍是事實嗎?
蔣、毛第一次在軍事上對決是在江西第三次圍剿。毛澤東已取得前兩次反圍剿的勝利,他發展出一個理論應付國軍的圍剿:集中兵力各個擊破國軍分散的各路。加上共產黨的動員力量,國軍的圍剿相當困難。蔣中正有鑑於此,做出了戰略上的轉向,新的戰略結合碉堡戰術、封鎖、「三分軍事七分政治」等方針。最終對贏得了第五次圍剿。毛澤東在長征中重新取回領導權,他馬上面對的是國軍在貴州的新一波圍剿。由於遠離蘇區戰鬥,因此只有很少的補給和援助。會戰展開也不順利,土城、魯班場之戰戰敗,而僅以慘勝贏得遵義之戰。但毛終究設法逃出蔣的包圍圈,並離開貴州與紅四方面軍會師。由於毛澤東和張國燾的戰略歧見,毛澤東獨自帶領紅軍北上抵達陝北與當地紅軍會合。紅軍東征入晉,宣稱要到華北抗日。但為蔣增援山西的中央軍所擊退。在紅四方面軍北上之後,為了在甘肅、寧夏打通蘇聯援助路線,紅軍渡過黃河。但為蔣中正命令下的國軍所切斷,這個行動最終導致了西路軍的潰滅。
在剿共戰爭當中,蔣中正和毛澤東各自研發出他們的理論與對中國戰爭的認知。他們的共識是中國的戰爭是不同於外國的戰爭的。此階段可以視為他們的軍事思想奠基時期。毛澤東所寫的「中國革命戰爭的戰略問題」成為以後他的軍事著作的先聲。另一方面,蔣中正對此的經驗則比較是方法上的,以軍官訓練團訓練軍官及幹部、親自編撰各式「手本」等戰術教材,這些方法的延續持續到抗戰之後,甚至到臺灣時期。 / Chiang Kai-Shek and Mao Ze-Dong, two great leader of 20th century China, not only politically but also militarily. Both man are, or so claim separately by their followers, are great stretegist and military theorist. Beyond the worship of both man, is that true?
Chiang and Mao’s first military encounter was the third encirclement campaign of Jiang-Xi. Mao already won the first two, he develop a theory to counter Nationalists’ encirclement by concentrating strength and attack the enemy detachment separately. Along with the mobilizational power of Communists, Nationalists’ encirclement campaign turns out very difficult. Chiang realize that, and making a dramatic turn of strategy, combine with bunker tactics, blockade, and political mobilization of people. Chiang eventually won the fifth encirclement campaign over the Mao-absence Communists.
Mao took back his command during the Long March. He soon faces the Nationalists’ encirclement again in Guizhou. This time he is not fighting on a soviet area, therefore gain little support and reinforcement. The battles are not quite well either, Lost two of them and won one costly. But he still manage to escape from Chiang’s encirclement, and leave Guizhou to rendezvous with other Red Army.
Because of strategy difference between Mao and another Communist leader Zhang Guotao, Mao leads his troop go north to Shaanxi, rendezvous with local Red Army. Mao attacks Shanxi by claiming they want to fight Japanese evasion at North, driven back by Chiang’s reinforcement to local warlord Yan Xishan. To fulfill the strategy goal of reaching USSR to get supplies, Communists launch another campaign in Ningxia and Gansu and crossed Yellow River. But the Red Army been cut off by Chiang’s nationalist army, this later leads to the elimination of the west side detached Red Army.
During the war, Chiang and Mao both develop their own theory and knowledge of War in China, which they both believe in common is different from foreign wars. The period of first Chinese civil war, can be seen as their military thought’s foundation. Mao wrote “Problems of Strategy in China's Revolutionary War” to conclude this war, became the pioneer of his military works later on. Chiang, on other hand, took the experience most in method way: retrain officers in special facility, write tactic handbooks.These methods cotinuely used by Chiang on later wars against Japan, even in Taiwan in his late years.

gestos e criar
dispositivos de interação com computadores mais intuitivos
e rápidos. Os
dispositivos comerciais atuais de interação baseados em
gestos utilizam
equipamentos caros (dispositivos de seguimento, luvas,
câmeras especiais,
etc.) e ambientes especiais que dificultam a difusão para
o público em geral.
Este trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre a viabilidade de
utilizarmos câmeras
Web como dispositivo de interação baseado em gestos da
Mão. Em nosso
estudo consideramos que a mão humana está limpa, isto é,
sem nenhum
dispositivo (mecânico, magnético ou óptico) colocado nela.
Consideramos
ainda que o ambiente onde ocorre a interação tem as
características de um
ambiente de trabalho normal, ou seja, sem luzes ou panos
de fundo especiais.
Para avaliar a viabilidade deste mecanismo de interação,
desenvolvemos
alguns protótipos. Neles os gestos da mão e as posições
dos dedos são
utilizados para simular algumas funções presentes em
mouses e teclados, tais
como selecionar estados e objetos e definir direções e
posições. Com base
nestes protótipos apresentamos algumas conclusões e
sugestões para
trabalhos futuros. / [en] Computer Vision can be used to capture gestures and create
more
intuitive and faster devices to interact with computers.
Current commercial
gesture-based interaction devices make use of expensive
equipment (tracking
devices, gloves, special cameras, etc.) and special
environments that make the
dissemination of such devices to the general public
difficult. This work presents
a study on the feasibility of using Web cameras as
interaction devices based
on hand-gestures. In our study, we consider that the hand
is clean, that is, it
has no (mechanical, magnetic or optical) device. We also
consider that the
environment where the interaction takes place has the
characteristics of a
normal working place, that is, without special lights or
backgrounds. In order to
evaluate the feasibility of such interaction mechanism, we
have developed
some prototypes of interaction devices. In these
prototypes, hand gestures and
the position of fingers were used to simulate some mouse
and keyboard
functions, such as selecting states and objects, and
defining directions and
positions. Based on these prototypes, we present some
conclusions and
suggestions for future works.

Electrochemical behaviors of micro-arc oxidation coated magnesium alloyLiu, Jiayang January 2014 (has links)
Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) / In recent years, magnesium alloys, due to their high strength and biocompatibility, have attracted significant interest in medical applications, such as cardiovascular stents, orthopedic implants, and devices. To overcome the high corrosion rate of magnesium alloys, coatings have been developed on the alloy surface. Most coating methods, such as anodic oxidation, polymer coating and chemical conversion coating, cannot produce satisfactory coating to be used in human body environment. Recent studies demonstrate that micro-arc oxidation (MAO) technique can produce hard, dense, wear-resistant and well-adherent oxide coatings for light metals such as aluminum, magnesium, and titanium. Though there are many previous studies, the understanding of processing conditions on coating performance remains elusive. Moreover, previous tests were done in simulated body fluid. No test has been done in a cell culture medium, which is much closer to human body environment than simulated body fluid.
In this study, the effect of MAO processing time (1 minute, 5 minutes, 15 minutes, and 20 minutes) on the electrochemical behaviors of the coating in both conventional simulated body fluid and a cell culture medium has been investigated. Additionally a new electrolyte (12 g/L Na2SiO3, 4 g/L NaF and 4 ml/L C3H8O3) has been used in the MAO coating process.
Electrochemical behaviors were measured by performing potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy tests. In addition to the tests in simulated body fluid, the MAO-coated and uncoated samples were immersed in a cell culture medium to investigate the corrosion behaviors and compare the difference in these two kinds of media.
The results show that in the immersion tests in conventional simulated body fluid, the 20-minute MAO coated sample has the best resistance to corrosion due to the largest coating thickness. In contrast, in the cell culture medium, all MAO coated samples demonstrate a similar high corrosion resistance behavior, independent of MAO processing time. This is probably due to the organic passive layers formed on the coating surfaces.
Additionally, a preliminary finite element model has been developed to simulate the immersion test of magnesium alloy in simulated body fluid. Comparison between the predicted corrosion current density and experimental data is discussed.
