The thesis deals with the proposal of a business plan for the establishment of a company engaged in production and sale of confectionery products in the Rožnov region. Feasibility Study Property Löjtnanten 1 / Genomför barhetsstudie Fastigheten Löjtnanten 1

Malmeby, Hanna January 2013 (has links)
The property "Löjtnanten 1" is situated in Västra Skogen, Solna, and is owned by the Solna municipality. The question at issue answered in this study is "Is it profitable to convert the multistory car park "Löjtnanten 1" to a dwelling-‐house?". Several matters are addressed to answer that question, amongst other things the demand for condominiums in the area, the effect of competing supply, the acceptable price per square meter from a market point of view, and how the issue of parking may be resolved. The study has been made with support from JM AB, a developer of housing and residential areas in the Nordic region.  As described in the vision, the project will increase the attractiveness of the area by the refurbishment of the nearby centre and commercial premises. The area is one of the development areas in the Master Plan for Solna, "ÖP 2006". The market analysis performed shows that the project is feasible if the turnover of residents in the applicable areas exceeds 5 percent. The project is also economically viable at a price level of SEK 38 000 – 42 000 per square meter. The project calculation shows a limited profit and presumes that the municipality price the land at a break-‐even level factoring in the long term positive effects provided by a refurbishment of the nearby centre.

Using Prototyping to Recognize Product Potential in the Front End of Innovation : A Qualitative Study of Swedish Start-ups

Forsell, Felicia, Svensson, Terese January 2022 (has links)
Managing the new product development (NPD) process, especially the first phase, the front end of innovation (FEI), is crucial for companies today in order to develop successful products and reach process and product sustainability. This has proved to be a significant challenge for start-ups since 90 percent of them fail (Krishna et al., 2016). This explorative study investigates how prototyping can be used in FEI, with a focus on Swedish start-up companies. A great deal of research has been published about prototyping in the later stages in the development process, and about FEI in general. Regarding prototyping in FEI, the existing literature is mainly located in the product design area. A substantial research gap has also been identified in a start-up context regarding prototyping in FEI. To fill in this gap, a qualitative approach was used collecting data form three different perspectives; start-up accelerators, start-ups employees and users. To accumulate these three perspectives, two sets of semi-structured interviews and two focus groups were conducted. Thematic analysis was used to analyze the collected data. The empirical findings align with the existing literature in several areas, but also gain new insights, contributing to filling the research gap. To conclude, there are a number of different specific prototyping purposes and methods, as well as crucial recommendations, that start-ups should consider in FEI to succeed. The thesis highlights that start-ups should use simple prototypes early in FEI, iterating the prototyping efforts, and gradually increasing the accuracy of the prototype during the FEI.

Market Orientation in Professional Service Firms : A Framework for Market Oriented Practices

ASZTALOS, RICHARD, GIERTZ, MATHIAS January 2012 (has links)
This report combines theoretical and empirical findings to create a holistic framework for market oriented practices within professional service firms. Changes in the business environment of technology consultancy firms, has developed a need to adopt more structured procedures in assessing the market place and in responding, both through external activities as well as through internal optimization. An assumption was made that the market orientation concept was of relevance in addressing this need. A qualitative empirical investigation was conducted at a large professional service firm mainly operating within the construction consulting industry in Sweden. The result provides a conceptual framework for practising market orientation, based largely on empirical findings, which in the conclusion is summarized into a model to visualize the interconnection of the different parts of market orientation. The framework developed is ‘The Market Orientation Model’ which is made up four stages; (1) ‘Assess Current State’ in which the goal is to understand the current state of the firm; current market, current services and current competences. (2) ‘Collect Intelligence’ where the collection of market intelligence, using a set of different processes, about the needs and demands of current, new and internal customers should be gathered. (3) ‘Create Insight’ which is the process of identifying the Market Potential or the Market Demand through processes of organization wide dissemination and analysis of the gathered intelligence. (4a) ‘Create Response Initiative’ where the aim is to create new, or develop existing service offerings to meet the demand or need of the market. (4b) ‘Create Sales Initiative’ which is the initiation of a sales attempt of existing services to new or existing customers. The model creates a summarized picture of what constitutes market orientation and how it can be adapted to an organization. It can be used to create a standardized approach for an entire organization in building a market oriented firm. By continuously following this model in a market oriented firm, greater alignment with market should be achieved.
