A model for analysis and design of an integrated operations management system using systems engineering approach: A case study / En modell för analys och design av ett system för integrerad verksamhets-styrning med hjälp av systems engineering: En fallstudie

Thalji, Idriss, Zubair, Gaith January 2007 (has links)
Background: Generally, operation management includes a set of complicated systems interfacing each other. Most important systems which impact and impacted by the operations management system are production management system and maintenance management system. But to treat the interfacing losses has been difficult as interact and partially overlap each other. In this study, case-operational system was treated with developed model that analysis and design integrated operational system in order to make it easier and cost effective to manage. Methods: A model was developed based on latest literature survey work using systems paradigm methodology and systems engineering approach. Results: Among five analysis techniques, four types of interfacing losses were identified, seven requirements were extracted, nine conceptual solutions were generated, one of them was selected and based on it the integrated operational management system were designed. Conclusions: The results suggest that the operational system in case-company shall be integrated by organization management, process management, and control management, in addition to data management.

Data as a production factor: A model to measure the value of big data through business process management

Zipf, Torsten 04 July 2022 (has links)
Big Data has been among the most innovative topics in literature sources and among organizations for years. Even though only few organizations realized the significant value potentials described by contemporary literature sources, it is widely acknowledged that data assets can provide significant competitive benefits. Given the promises regarding value increases and competitiveness, practitioners as well as academia desire systematic approaches to transform the data sets into measurable assets. This dissertation investigates the current state of literature, conducts an empirical investigation through a structural equation modeling and applies existing theory to develop a model that allows organizations to apply a systematic approach to measure the value of Big Data specifically to their organization. With Business Process Management as the foundation of the model, IT as well as business functions will be able to successfully apply the model. Based on the assumption that Data is acknowledged as a production factor, the developed model supports organizations to justify Big Data investment decisions and thereby to contribute to competitiveness and company value. Furthermore, the findings and the model equip future researchers with a framework that can be adapted for industry-specific purposes, validated in different organizational contexts or dismantled to investigate specific success factors.

Ganzheitliche Potentialbewertung von Mensch-Roboter-Kooperation in produzierenden KMU

Delang, Kathleen 30 September 2022 (has links)
The challenge in the application is the development of objective evaluation criteria to assess the effects of possible implementation variants economically, socially, ecologically and technically-technologically. So far, there are only insufficient approaches to evaluate potentials of the new technology holistically. Since SMEs are characterized by a high importance of the operational business, a flexible approach is needed, which can be adapted to the respective situation of the company. According to the company's individual objectives, suitable workplaces for the use of HRI are identified and their potentials are evaluated in different realization variants. The developed approach will be verified and iteratively improved by means of three case studies with manufacturing companies from different industries.:Bibliografische Beschreibung Zusammenfassung Abstract Vorwort Inhaltsverzeichnis Abbildungsverzeichnis Tabellenverzeichnis Abkürzungsverzeichnis Variablenverzeichnis 1.
