To achieve the objectives, we carried out a qualitative study of a case study, using documentary research and semi-structured interviews with three groups of subjects belonging to the program and with direct involvement in the implementation of processes: coordinator, while managers, supervisors and advisor, as formulators agents of the courses, and technical, administrative and academic supporters. The results showed that: the implementation strategy was a challenge for the implementers actors due to the lack of experience in the type of the program, where the decision-making process to define the courses are presented subject to government interference; limiting disclosure was characterized by the features of a professional and technological training program focused on gender; the selection of the implementation of the actors with experience to perform their duties contributed to the implementation of the program, which resulted in the absence of formal training; monitoring and internal evaluation, even if not formalized by own instruments, reduce the risk of failure in the implementation of policy and contribute to the improvement of the implementation process when there is socialization of results; centralized management of the budget facilitates the planning and implementation of policy actions, although inconstancy in the decentralization of financial resources by the federal government committed to attendance of beneficiaries, revealing a bottleneck in the program implementation process.

Estudo do motor de indução linear utilizado como posicionador e simulações computacionais / not available

Geraldo Macias Martins Filho 24 April 2003 (has links)
Since the rotating machines had been idealized, the Linear Induction Motor (LIM) has been researched and, along the time, new technologies are being developed in order to improve it. Many academic works were accomplished in several research centers and universities around the world. In Brazil, the first ones to study it with scientific approach were Professors Morency Arouca and Délio Pereira Guerrini, in the early 70\'s. Even nowadays, works are seldom developed, and most of them are dedicated to simulation of the LIM or obtaining of parameters of specific LIM\'s. The present work has as objective to study the mathematical and theoretical modeling, which will be used as basis in order to study and understand the LIM and to propose an application: the LIM fed by Frequency Inverter, used in order to obtain positioning, with simulation of specific control systems.

Rumo ao pavilhão da eternidade: Nūruddīn e Šamsunnahār na literatura amorosa abássida / Towards the Pavilion of Eternity: Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār in the erotic Abbasid literature

Pedro Ivo Dias Secco 13 March 2017 (has links)
The Book of the Thousand and One Nights, in the way it is written in its oldest group of manuscripts, the Syrian branch, is composed as a big compendium of erotic Arabic stories, in its majority. The scenes found in those stories, which are almost always explicit, reveal very sensual women, owners of desired bodies, and men who desire those bodies, and who are, almost always, betrayed by those women. However, one story in special contrasts from the others in this carnal universe of the Nights: the story of \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār and Šamsunnahār\". The love described in this narrative approaches the divine and ineffable love, and its descriptions, always imprecise, reveal the difficulty of describing a love, which is so distant from the body and its desires. But, the narrative of the two lovers is not a highlight only in this book: in the whole erotic tradition to which it belongs (the Abbasid love, between the IX and X centuries), this story shows itself as a unique one. The present dissertation aims to analyse these highlights of the narrative of \"Nūruddīn ͨ Alī Bin Bakkār and Šamsunnahār\" in its contexts: first, inside the Book of the Thousand and One Nights and, after that, inside the erotic Abbasid literature. We do it by comparing the story of the two lovers to all the other erotic narratives of the Nights, demonstrating all the substantial differences among them. Besides that, we draw a map of the whole erotic Abbasid literary tradition, demonstrating how Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār have nothing in common with the other Abbasid lovers, described in the erotic stories of that time. At the end of the dissertation, by enumerating and analysing carefully those characteristics of highlight, we approach the narrative of the two lovers to other works, contemporary to it, which declare themselves to be platonic. By doing that, we situate the story of Nūruddīn and Šamsunnahār in a very small and not studied group of Arabic medieval works: the group, which shares similar characteristics with the platonic and neoplatonic works.

A \'crise\' do poder público em Regino de Prüm e Raul Glaber (séculos IX-XI) / Public power crisis in Regino of Prüm and Rodulfus Glaber (IX-XI centuries)

Bruna Giovana Bengozi 12 July 2016 (has links)
Historiography had used crisis as one of the main to explain the events happened in Europe from 980 to 1060, period called Year 1000. According to those historians, after the end of the Carolingian Empire, the crisis would have been installed in Europe. Among several transformations, it would have led to the privatization of public power and to dominion of \"landlords\", those who exercised his power from the collection of taxes, services and violence, elements that formed the paradigm of \"feudal mutation\". The purpose of this dissertation is to analyse two historical writings, the Chronicle (Chronicon) , written between 900 and 908 by Regino, abbot of Prüm, in Lotharingia; and The Five Books of Histories (Historiarum Liber Quinque), by the monk Rodulfus Glaber, written between 1016 and 1046, in Burgundy. Therefore, we will seek to discuss whether the quoted sources support the idea of a public power crisis during that time.

Experimental and Modeling Study of Gas Adsorption in Metal-Organic Framework Coated on 3D Printed Plastics

Tejesh Charles Dube (8812424) 08 May 2020 (has links)

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are a class of compounds consisting of metal ions or clusters coordinated to organic ligands in porous structure forms. MOFs have been proposed in use for gas adsorption, purification, and separation applications. This work combines MOFs with 3D printing technologies, in which 3D printed plastics serve as a mechanical structural support for MOFs powder, in order to realize a component design for gas adsorption. The objective of the thesis is to understand the gas adsorption behavior of MIL-101 (Cr) MOF coated on 3D printed PETG, a glycol modified version of polyethylene terephthalate, through a combined experimental and modeling study. The specific goals are: (1) synthesis of MIL-101 (Cr) MOFs; (2) nitrogen gas adsorption measurements and microstructure and phase characterization of the MOFs; (3) design and 3D printing of porous PETG substrate structures; (4) deposition of MOFs coating on the PETG substrates; and (5) Monte Carlo (MC) modeling of sorption isotherms of nitrogen and carbon dioxide in the MOFs.

The results show that pure MIL-101 (Cr) MOFs were successfully synthesized, as confirmed by the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images and X-ray diffrac- tion (XRD), which are consistent with literature data. The Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) surface area measurement shows that the MOFs samples have a high cover- age of nitrogen. The specific surface area of a typical MIL-101 (Cr) MOFs sample is 2716.83 m2/g. MIL-101 (Cr) also shows good uptake at low pressures in experimental tests for nitrogen adsorption. For the PETG substrate, disk-shape plastic samples with a controlled pore morphology were designed and fabricated using the fused de-

position modeling (FDM) process. MOFs were coated on the PETG substrates using a layer-by-layer (LbL) assembly approach, up to 30 layers. The MOFs coating layer thicknesses increase with the number of deposition layers. The computational model illustrates that the MOFs show increased outputs in adsorption of nitrogen as pres- sure increases, similar to the trend observed in the adsorption experiment. The model also shows promising results for carbon dioxide uptake at low pressures, and hence the developed MOFs based components would serve as a viable candidate in gas adsorption applications.

Investigating the Use of Technical Writing Theories in Aerospace Defense: Electronic Maintenance Manuals

Maharajh, Shannon P 01 January 2022 (has links)
This thesis seeks to investigate the influence and applicability of three technical writing principles across electronic maintenance manuals in the aerospace defense industry: military standard (MIL-STD) guidelines, plain language, and audience scope. Aerospace defense technical writers are liaisons tasked with coherent communication on advanced technological developments for technicians maintaining equipment. Their primary responsibility involves synthesizing specialized content from subject matter experts to draft comprehensive instructions for personnel safety and product sustainment during critical military operations. Current literature insufficiently examines the significance between aerospace defense technical documents and product performance following routine maintenance. Poorly composed manuals contribute to technician misinterpretation or disregard due to convoluted procedures and disorganized appearances increasing malfunction probabilities. Writing-based MIL-STDs and Simplified English emerged as efforts to mitigate understanding obstructs amongst domestic and international novice technicians. Maintenance manuals must conform to governmental guidelines including product liability laws, cultural variables, and audience expectations. Interview findings with two practitioners each from a different aerospace defense company supports the prediction that technical writing theories considerably impacts maintenance manual quality and recipience throughout the aerospace defense industry.
