Fenomén modelářství ve výtvarné edukaci (teoretická práce) / The phenomenon model making in art education

SVOBODOVÁ, Edita January 2013 (has links)
This thesis explores the phenomenon of model making. The first part is devoted to the history of models in the world and in the Czech Republic. First, it is generally described the history from prehistoric times to the present. Further the thesis is focused on selected models and institutions in which models can be found. The second part describes selected publications and periodicals dealing with this topic. The third part deals with the relationship between model making and art education, or relationship model making and teaching at the elementary school. There are described children's views on theoretical models and outline projects whose the main theme are models. The work aims to inform teachers primarily about using of models in teaching.

Knowledge Through Making

Einstein, Eric Michael 20 February 2015 (has links)
Perhaps the quintessential project for an architect is the design of a house. This thesis takes the approach of designing a house by way of a unique construction method. Influenced by the strickbau, or woven wood, method of stacking timber most commonly seen in the Swiss chalet, the project explores materials and details to address the limitations of the strickbau method of construction. The centerpiece of the project is a robust model, which acts as an analogue to the actual construction method. / Master of Architecture

The Cognitive Aspects Of Model-making In Architectural Design

Gursoy, Benay 01 February 2010 (has links) (PDF)
Considerable research has been done by various scholars to assess the significance of sketching in the early stages of the design process. However, sketching in design studies usually corresponds to drawing and the extensive research on the cognitive aspects of sketching does not always include three-dimensional sketching through physical and digital models produced in the early phases of design process. The aim of the presented research is to identify some characteristics of model-making that make it effective in the design process and design cognition as a form of sketching. Departing from key research on sketching which articulates its uncertain nature as a positive drive in early design phases, this thesis looks at whether physical and digital models can also be counted among ambiguous design tools. The inquiry is supported by empirical data from the protocol studies realized with three graduate students of architecture.

In Brazil, the infrastructure is inefficient and does not meet the potential growth of its different regions. In the state of Amazonas, the situation is critical, because the peculiar characteristics of their climatic and environmental conditions hamper regional mobility. This directly impacts on the productive sector, as the main agent of economic development of the State, the Industrial Pole of Manaus - PIM suffers directly with the conditions of the modal area. The problems related to transport infrastructure are usually from poor management of financial resources and lack of appropriate tools for decision-making in public investments. In this sense, the use of tools that effectively assist the selection of public projects, can provide substantial improvements to society. This study aims to evaluate the applicability of fuzzy AHP model to support decision making in the selection of investment projects to the transportation infrastructure that meet the PIM. The method is based on a complex representation by a hierarchical structure, which consists of defining the main objective and decomposition of the system at different levels, enabling the visualization of the entire system and its components, being used mainly in the treatment the uncertainty and imprecision inherent in decision-making. With the satisfactory outcome of applicability, the AHP fuzzy proved consistently apply the PIM scenario where the uncertainties and inaccurate information are present, besides being a good communication tool between stakeholders.

Beslutstödsmodell : För ökad effektivitet i lagermiljöer / Decision support model : For increased effiviency in warehouse environments

Hammerin, Karl, Werther, Adrian January 2017 (has links)
The globalized world has increased people’s awareness, which has resulted in a higher demand for better quality as well as shorter led times, without increasing the selling price. The fact that companies are actively working with streamlining processes of the existing business can therefore be seen as crucial for its future existence. In this study, a decision support model for the initial part of streamlining projects for warehouses has been developed. The model is based on key theories and methods of efficiency and warehouse layouts. This constitutes the theoretical foundation, for which the six areas of the model were designed. The model is based on a process- and rating structure, in which the six areas were broken down to 12 matrices and 1 summary. In each matrix, the solution methods are rated based on their individual properties against crucial parameters. As support for the model, complementary questions for each area have been developed, to give the user good opportunities to gather necessary information and data. By answering the questions and studying the matrices, the user has a good foundation to select the alternatives that fits the company’s needs. By doing this, the user will be able in a timely manner to identify the most relevant opportunities, and thus also discard those who do not possess the requested features or properties. This study has resulted in a model whose strength lies in its ability to allow companies, at an earlier stage, to allocate resources to the solutions that are relevant and therefore should be examined more closely. This based on the company's situation, goals and needs.
