Barnvakt : Lyx eller nödvändighet? / Nanny : a luxury or a necessity?

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva hur vardagen ser ut för föräldrar som anlitar barnvakt via barnvaktsförmedling, genom att undersöka erfarenheter och attityder hos dessa föräldrar. Varför väljer föräldrar att anlita barnvakt via en barnvaktsförmedling? Hur ser familjernas vardagspussel ut med jobb, skola/förskola och aktiviteter? Genom intervjuer med sex föräldrar som anlitar barnvakt via förmedling, har jag undersökt dessa föräldrars erfarenheter och attityder kring företeelsen. Tidigare forskning kring barndom presenteras, närliggande till ämnet i föreliggande uppsats. Vidare presenteras Urie Bronfenbrenners utvecklingsekologi som en teoretisk ram med vars hjälp jag analyserar familjernas situation. Analysen visar att det är flera olika faktorer i samhället som påverkar föräldrarnas beslut att anlita barnvakt via en förmedling. För fem av föräldrarna medför exempelvis deras heltidsarbeten en tidsbrist i vardagspusslet med barnen, som har gjort att de har valt att anlita en barnvakt för att lösa situationen. För den sjätte föräldern handlar det om att får stöd och hjälp i en vardag där den andra föräldern arbetar på annan ort.

A Technical Preparation Guide for the "Dragonetti Concerto" in A Major for Double Bass and Orchestra by Édouard Nanny

One of the essential difficulties encountered while preparing a piece for a pre-professional player is defining the piece's technical challenges and doing exercises or etude studies accordingly. Based on this fact, in my thesis, I described the technical challenges of Edouard Nanny's Dragonetti A Major concerto under the headings and suggested technical studies suitable for these difficulties. The titles represented are string crossing, bow strokes, thumb position and vertical-horizontal approaches, harmonic arpeggios and horizontal playing in harmonics, intonation and shifting, and double stops. In the last step of each heading, I associate these technical studies with an excerpt from a more advanced piece than this concerto in the double bass repertoire. Accordingly, the thesis aims to define a working path for Nanny's Dragonetti A Major Double Bass Concerto and, at the same time, to be a preliminary preparation for the more technically challenging works of the repertoire.

Household Employer Payroll Tax Evasion: An Exploration Based on IRS Data and on Interviews with Employers and Domestic Workers

Although many workers have a private household as their workplace, many household employers are unaware of or fail to meet their state and federal payroll tax obligations, thus undermining the workers’ retirement income security. This dissertation uses sixty interviews with household employers and employees in the Washington, DC, area to investigate the causes and conditions of nanny tax evasion. Ethnographic fieldwork and semi-structured interviews indicate that lack of awareness, tax complexity, social norms of noncompliance, and poor personal ethics diminish payroll tax payment; concern over one’s job, personal ethics and altruistic concern for the employee motivate compliance. An analysis of limited IRS data on audits as well as data on Schedule H household employment payroll tax returns reveal that although some unpaid tax was discovered, almost as much tax paid in error was refunded, confirming the importance of complexity as a determinant of compliance. Analysis of results using Kohlberg’s stages of moral development and force field analysis of motives provides insight into employers’ decisions to pay or evade their nanny taxes. Policy recommendations emphasize increasing public awareness, tax simplification, and enforcement.

A entrada da mulher no mercado de trabalho no Brasil trouxe maior demanda à terceirização docare à criança. Historicamente ocare, também realizado por membros da família, é transferido às creches, escolas e, quando realizado na residência da família, torna-se responsabilidade da babá. A presente pesquisa pretende trazer à tona a discussão do trabalho decare realizado por babás no contexto doméstico, buscando compreender a atividade do trabalho da babá, as emoções a ele relacionadas e explorar as dinâmicas relacionais entre o profissional, a criança e a família. Como referencial metodológico, esta pesquisa utilizou entrevistas em profundidade e análise de narrativas de nove entrevistas realizadas na cidade de São Paulo. O estudo atenta-se a questões ligadas às atividades gerais, ao afeto e à confiança surgidas no trabalho, a partir do ponto de vista das babás. A pesquisa tem como embasamento teórico estudos sobre ocareprovindos da sociologia, da psicologia e da economia decare. Como resultados, discutimos a precarização do trabalho decare realizado pelas babás, o trabalho decare pago e não pago, assim como as relações das babás com as crianças no que diz respeito ao vínculo, intimidade, afeto e perda / The entry of women into the labor market in Brazil brought greater demand for third-party child care. Historically, child care (also performed by family members) has been transferred to nurseries, schools and when carried out in the family residence becomes the responsibility of the nanny. The present research brings up the discussion of care work carried out by nannies in the domestic context seeking to understand their work activity, the emotions related to care and explore the relationship dynamics among the professional, the child and the family. As a methodological reference this research used in-depth interviews and analysis of narratives based on nine interviews conducted in the city of São Paulo. The study emphasizes the issues related to nannies regular duties, as well as affection and trust at work from the nannies point of view. The research is based on theoretical studies about care from sociology, psychology, and the economy of care. At our findings, I discuss the nannies care work precariousness, paid and unpaid care work, as well as the relationships of nannies with children regarding bond, intimacy, affection and loss

Konflikthantering : Att lösa konflikter med fokus på barnets bästa

Abstract The purpose of this study was to investigate how preschool teachers reflect on the phenomenon of conflict, and to find out what children think about this in relation to Nanny method. I referred to the following questions: • How to reflect pre-school teachers on conflict management at the preschool? • What methods / approaches tell teachers that they use in conflict management? • How the children reflect on their experiences on conflict management at the preschool? In the background, Im trying to define the word conflict, and I also point to the methods and models that are already in conflict management. It is clear that a key ingredient in the conflict is communication, the question is how well we communicate with each other?I've done interviews with three active educators and four children to study this subject. The survey shows that the conversation is a very important factor in the conflict and both children and teachers agree on this.  The teachers' desire to get the children to talk to each other if they become enemies seem to produce results because even the kids themselves say it is what is most important in the event of disagreement, it is also important to ask for help when you feel that the situation becomes too difficult.The work highlights the educators and children's experiences in conflict management. Jag har utgått från följande frågor: Hur reflekterar förskollärarna om konflikthanteringen på förskolan? Vilka metoder/förhållningssätt säger pedagogerna att de använder sig av inom konflikthantering? Hur reflekterar barnen om sina upplevelser kring konflikthanteringen på förskolan?    I bakgrunden försöker jag att definiera ordet konflikt och jag pekar också på de metoder och modeller som redan finns inom konflikthantering. Det framgår att en viktig nyckel när det gäller konflikter är kommunikation, frågan är bara hur vi kommunicerar med varandra?   Jag har gjort kvalitativa intervjuer med tre verksamma pedagoger och fyra barn för att studera detta ämne. Undersökningen visar att samtalet är en mycket viktig faktor när det gäller konflikthantering och både barn och pedagoger är överens om detta. Pedagogernas strävan efter att få barnen att prata med varandra om de blir ovänner verkar ge resultat eftersom även barnen själva säger att det är det som är viktigast om det uppstår osämja. Det är också viktigt att kunna be om hjälp när man känner att situationen blir för svår. Psychohygiena profesionální chůvy / Psychic hygiene of professional nanny

The thesis deals with contemporary possibilities of psychohygiene of professional nannies working in their clients' families, and all different aspects related to such work. The thesis comprises two parts, the theoretical and practical. The theoretical part covers explanations of terminology and phenomena focused on problematics of the essential requirements for work performance of professional nannies. The practical part consists of qualitative research exploring what nannies think of practisting psychohygiene within their profession as a whole. The research was conducted using semi-structured interviews with seven professional nannies currently working in their clients' families. The research findings show professional nannies are aware of benefits and effectiveness of psychohygiene. However, they perceive these as limited by different circumstances. Despite such limitations professional nannies always find a way to get motivated and overcome challenging situations. The more experienced they are, the easier everything at work becomes. This thesis deals with the problems of babysitting children with special needs. The theoretical part is primarily devoted to the characteristics of healthy child development. Consequently, it provides a comparison of optimal child development with the development of handicapped children. It highlights the difficulty of care for disadvantaged children, the importance of preventing parents becoming overloaded and the various possibilities for support of the families. The next chapter focuses on the educational assessment of healthy children and children with special needs. It describes the availability of babysitting services for those children, the offers of current agencies and the profile of good quality carers. The last chapter presents the empirical part of this thesis. The quantitative research was, with the use of questionnaires, addressed to the parents of children with special needs. This section presents the course of the research and the method by which the goals were attained. It presents the views of parents of children with special needs with regards to: their level of interest in, and the problems with, babysitting services. The work is a human experience that highlights the intersection of collective and individual nature, which is encouraged throughout the individuation. From the concept of work and the ancestry of the profession in Brazil, which denotes its cultural complex, we construct a reflection approaching the daily work of nannies today and some considerations about their professional persona. We note that the centrality of work is a characteristic of the profession, influencing the lives of workers in how they invest energy and dedication in the personal and family context. This occurs mainly among workers who live in the residence of work, which makes the boundary between public and private spheres almost nonexistent, which may favor the rigidity of the professional persona. The professional role of the nanny is related to parental functions such as care, educate, give affection, attention and love, through a substitutive fraternal relationship, which makes her supporting of familiar life. In this sense, she coordinates archetypal elements of maternal and paternal, of eros and power, in their daily assignments. The coordination of these elements stems from the psychological baggage of professional and express your personal directory about the symmetric and asymmetric relations. This dynamic is manifested in the relationship between the worker, child and parents, setting up a triangulation, in which the nanny must pass, and the more good it does, more integrate will be the experience of his professional persona. Thus, it becomes relevant to the creation of a specialized space, group and/or individual, in which daily experiences can be shared in order to increase consciousness of workers about their professional role, and also to propitiate the development of symbolic language, which can facilitate the individuation / Esta pesquisa caracteriza-se pelo enfoque metodológico qualitativo e tem como objetivo conhecer as particularidades do cotidiano de trabalho das babás, no intuito de elaborar uma reflexão acerca dessas vivências à luz da psicologia analítica, considerando aspectos históricos e sociais. O trabalho é uma experiência humana que evidencia a intersecção entre a sua natureza coletiva e individual, que é dinamizada ao longo do processo de individuação. A partir do conceito de trabalho, e da ancestralidade da profissão no Brasil, que denota o seu complexo cultural, construímos uma reflexão abordando o cotidiano de trabalho das babás na atualidade e algumas considerações sobre sua persona profissional. Observamos que a centralidade do trabalho é uma característica da profissão, que influencia a vida das trabalhadoras no modo como investem energia e dedicação no âmbito pessoal e familiar. Isso acontece, principalmente, entre as trabalhadoras que moram na residência de trabalho, o que torna a fronteira entre os âmbitos público e privado quase inexistente, podendo favorecer a rigidez da persona profissional. O papel profissional da babá está relacionado a funções parentais como cuidar, educar, dar carinho, atenção e amor, por meio de uma relação substitutiva fraternal, que a torna coadjuvante da vida familiar. Nesse sentido, ela coordena elementos arquetípicos maternos e paternos, de eros e poder, em suas atribuições cotidianas. A coordenação desses elementos decorre da bagagem psicológica da profissional e expressa o seu repertório pessoal sobre as relações simétricas e assimétricas. Essa dinâmica é manifestada no relacionamento entre a trabalhadora, a criança e os pais, configurando uma triangulação, na qual a babá precisa transitar e, quanto mais bem ela o fizer, mais integrada será a vivência de sua persona profissional.
