Ledarskap och socialt stöd från teori till ledares reella arbete för anställdas hälsa : En organisation på väg / Leadership and social support from theory to leaders real work for employees health : An organization on route

Larsson, Sofia, Lindfors, Samuel January 2020 (has links)

Erkersson, Marie, Laurell Lundin, Maria January 2022 (has links)
Employers are required to investigate cases of suspected bullying in the workplace. Many employers engage external investigators to ensure that the investigator posesses sufficient competence for the mission and is perceived to be impartal by the parties involved in the investigation. The aim with our present study is to explore how work groups, the business, and the organization are impacted by such an investigation. Through a phenomenological perspective and a qualitative approach we conducted semi-structured interviews with six HR-managers and one HR-worker from seven swedish municipalities, We were given access to experiences and observations, and views on these investigation processes and their effect on the organization. Respondents were sought through e-mailed inquiry of participation to a randomized selection of 100 HR-managers in swedish municipalities. The narratives indicate that a protracted investigation process entails hardship for the work group involved, and has a negative impact on the social work environment, leading to increased risk for ill health in the workplace.

Psychoneuroimunologie alexithymie / Psychoneuroimmunology of alexithymia

Uher, Tomáš January 2012 (has links)
Alexithymia represents a deficit in identifying and expressing emotions, paucity of fantasies, and an externally oriented cognitive style. Currently, numerous studies document that alexithymia and several mental and somatic disorders are significantly related. Several findings also indicate that this association might be caused by alexithymia related dysregulation of neuroendocrine and immune functions. Together these findings indicate that stressors related to alexithymia could underlie the process of neuroendocrine and immune dysregulation that likely may present a significant risk, sustaining and mediating pathogenesis of several disorders and particulary psychosomatic illnesses. In this context, it is also known that several proinflammatory cytokines may play a role in pain generation and that alexithymia is significantly associated with pain symptoms in several pain disorders. Following these findings this study includes several new data developing current state of the art and showing some alexithymia specific changes in patients with neurological disorders. Main finding of this study shows that alexithymia and anxiety in their specific interactions are linked to increased levels of interleukine-8 (IL-8) in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in the group of patients with non-inflammatory neurological...

Congrete, Soontharee, Bintvihok, Maythawee, Thongprayoon, Charat, Bathini, Tarun, Boonpheng, Boonphiphop, Sharma, Konika, Chokesuwattanaskul, Ronpichai, Srivali, Narat, Tanawuttiwat, Tanyanan, Cheungpasitporn, Wisit 01 August 2018 (has links)
Background/objectives: Patients with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) have an increased the risk of developing atrial fibrillation (AF). However, it remains unclear if patients with OSA carry a higher risk of recurrent AF after successful catheter ablation. This meta-analysis was conducted (1) to evaluate the association between OSA and recurrent AF after catheter ablation, and (2) to assess the effect of continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) on the risk of recurrent AF in patients with OSA. Methods: A comprehensive literature review was conducted using MEDLINE, EMBASE, Cochrane databases from inception through July 2017 to identify studies that evaluated the risk of recurrent AF after successful catheter ablation in patients with OSA were included. Effect estimates from the individual study were extracted and combined using random-effect, generic inverse variance method of DerSimonian and Laird. Results: Seven observational studies with a total of 4572 patients AF after successful catheter ablation were enrolled. Compared to patients without OSA, the pooled OR of recurrent AF in patients with OSA was 1.70 (95% CI, 1.40-2.06, I2 = 0). Among OSA patients with AF after successful catheter ablation, the use of CPAP was significantly associated with decreased risk of recurrent AF with pooled OR of 0.28 (0.19-0.40, I2= 0). Egger's regression asymmetry test was performed and showed no publication bias for the associations of OSA and CPAP with recurrent AF. Conclusions: Our meta-analysis suggested a significant association between OSA and recurrent AF after catheter ablation. The use of CPAP in patients with OSA is associated with reduced risk of recurrent AF after catheter ablation.

Sovremennaya Arkhitektura magazines as an example of Russian constructivism idea of household (byt)

Smirnova, Lida January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of this study is to investigate OSA’s (Organization of Contemporary Architects) constructivist concept of the household and its development. To do so OSA’s Sovremennaya Arkhitektura magazines (1926 – 1930) were translated and analyzed. The focus of the study is the constructivist view on the household and the solution to the housing problems, presented in the Sovremennaya Arkhitektura magazines. The paper consists of presentation of the selected articles and their textual theoretical analysis followed by discussion conducted from the constructivist and feminist points of view. The paper also includes background presentation of the post-revolutionary Russia and the problems it faced at the time of the publication of the Sovremennaya Arkhitektura magazines. The discussion scrutinizes the importance of functionalism and rational organization in the creation of the architectural forms of constructivism. The constructivists faced an outspoken need to use limited resources, which guided many solutions. Care for the person is fundamental in the constructivist’s ideas. It is evident through the thorough planning of the individual's life and implementation of the collectivization. While emphasizing the idea of freeing the person, constructivists would often put the individual in a limited position of choices, deciding its specific way of being.

The Relationship Between Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in Inpatient Settings: A Nationwide Study

Mahfouz, Ratib, Barchuk, Andriy, Obeidat, Adham E., Mansour, Mahmoud M., Hernandez, David, Darweesh, Mohammad, Aldiabat, Mohammad, Al-Khateeb, Mohannad H., Yusuf, Mubarak H., Aljabiri, Yazan 01 March 2022 (has links)
INTRODUCTION: Several studies identified a link between gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). GERD is a condition in which acid reflux from the stomach to the esophagus causes troublesome symptoms. On the other hand, OSA is defined as a sleep-related breathing disorder in which airflow significantly decreases or ceases due to upper airway obstruction, leading to arousal from sleep. OSA was found to be associated with GERD. In this study, we aim to study the characteristics and concurrent risk factors associated with GERD and OSA in a large population-based study. METHODS: Patients with the diagnosis of GERD were extracted from the National Inpatient Database (NIS) for the years 2016 to 2019. Patients' age, gender, race, and hospital information, including region and bed size, were extracted and considered as baseline characteristics. The comorbidities included are hypertension (HTN), atrial fibrillation (AFib), congestive heart failure (CHF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary hypertension (PHTN), obesity, and smoking. Patients younger than 18 years old were excluded from this study. Results: Out of 22,677,620 patients with the diagnosis of GERD, 12.21% had a concurrent diagnosis of OSA (compared to 4.79% in patients without GERD, p-value <0.001). The mean age of patients with GERD and OSA was 64.47 years vs 65.42 years in patients without OSA (p-value <0.001). The GERD and OSA group had almost identical gender distribution compared to the GERD only group, as it was predominantly female patients. The white and black races were slightly more prevalent in the GERD and OSA group compared to the GERD only group. Regarding comorbidities, the prevalence of obesity was more clear in the GERD and OSA group. It was noted that the group of patients who carry a diagnosis of GERD and OSA have more prevalence of diabetes (DM), hypertension (HTN), obesity, atrial fibrillation (Afib), congestive heart failure (CHF), and pulmonary hypertension (PHTN). Patients with GERD and OSA were 21% less likely to be older than 65 years rather than younger (95% CI: 0.79-0.8, p-value <0.001), 35% less likely to be females (95% CI: 0.65-0.65, p-value <0.001), and 22% less likely to be non-white (95% CI: 0.77-0.8, p-value <0.001). Obesity was found to be the strongest association with this population, followed by PHTN, CHF, DM, HTN, Afib, and lastly smoking. CONCLUSION: Patients with GERD and OSA were found more likely to be female, white, living in the southern part of the United States, obese, diabetes mellitus type 2, and being active smokers.
