Trumpet i romantisk dräkt : en konstnärlig studie av Oskar Böhmes trumpetkonsert i f-moll (op.18) som interpret och utövare

Svensson, Filip January 2014 (has links)
<p>Bilaga: 1 CD</p><p>Oskar Böhmes trumpetkonsert op.18</p><p>Filip Svensson- trumpetsolist</p><p>Ejmunds Sinfonietta</p>

Nicolai Medtner's Piano concerto no. 3, op. 60: musical style and performance strategies

Hsu, Shu-Hao 01 December 2012 (has links)
Nicolai Medtner (1880-1951) is regarded as an accomplished composer and one of the most brilliant pianists of his time. He composed numerous compositions for piano that fall into three main categories: piano solo, piano with voice, and piano chamber music. He composed four large-ensemble pieces, including three concerti and the piano quartet in C major. This essay will concentrate on the lesser-known Piano Concerto No. 3, subtitled "Ballade." This three- movement work is extremely challenging because of its large and complex structure. Gaining a clear understanding of the structure and its formal innovation is paramount for performance success. It is my hope that this essay will contribute to bringing this piece into the standard repertoire. There are four chapters in this essay. In Chapter I, a general discussion of the composer's life and his music will be presented. The background of the concerto will be introduced and the purpose of this essay will be discussed in Chapter II. In Chapter III, a detailed analytical discussion of the structure of the concerto will be presented, in order to clarify the structure and the use of thematic materials. Lastly, practice and interpretative suggestions for this concerto will be discussed in Chapter IV.

High Performance Class-AB Output Stage Operational Amplifiers for Continuous-time Sigma-delta ADC

Krishnan, Lakshminarasimhan 2011 August 1900 (has links)
One of the most critical blocks in a wide-band continuous time sigma delta (CTSD) analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is the loop filter. For most loop filter topologies, the performance of the filter depends largely on the performance of the operational amplifiers (op-amps) used in the filter. The op-amps need to have high linearity, low noise and large gain over a wide bandwidth. In this work, the impact of op-amp parameters like noise and linearity on system level performance of the CTSD ADC is studied, and the design specifications are derived for the op-amps. A new class-AB bias scheme, which is more robust to process variations and has an improved high frequency response over the conventional Monticelli bias scheme, is proposed. A biquadratic filter which forms the input stage of a 5th order low pass CTSD ADC is used as a test bench to characterize the op-amp performance. The proposed class-AB output stage is compared with the class-AB output stage with Monticelli bias scheme and a class-A output stage with bias current reuse. The filter using the new op-amp architecture has lower power consumption than the other two architectures. The proposed class AB bias scheme has better process variation and mismatch tolerance compared to the op-amp that uses conventional bias scheme.

DC to DC converter for smart dust

Nisar, Kashif January 2012 (has links)
This work describes the implementation of DC to DC converter for Smart Dust in 65 nm CMOS technology. The purpose of a DC to DC converter is to convert a battery voltage of 1 Vto a lower voltage of 0.5 V used by the processor. The topology used in this DC to DC converteris of Buck type which converts a higher voltage to lower voltage with the advantage of givinghigh efficiency about 75%. The system uses PWM (Pulse width modulation) technique. It usesnon-overlapping clock generation technique for reducing the power consumption. The systemprovides up to 5 mA load current and has power consumption of 2.5 mW.

Multipath Miller Compensation for Switched-Capacitor Systems

Li, Zhao 10 August 2011 (has links)
A hybrid operational amplifier compensation technique using Miller and multipath compensation is presented for multi-stage amplifier designs. Unconditional stability is achieved by the means of pole-zero cancellation where left-half zeros cancel out the non-dominant poles of the operational amplifier. The compensation technique is stable over process, temperature, and voltage variations. Compared to conventional Miller-compensation, the proposed compensation technique exhibits improved settling response for operational amplifiers with the same gain, bandwidth, power, and area. For the same settling time, the proposed compensation technique will require less area and consume less power than conventional Miller-compensation. Furthermore, the proposed technique exhibits improved output slew rate and lower noise over the conventional Miller-compensation technique. Two-stage operational amplifiers were designed in a 0.18µm CMOS process using the proposed technique and conventional Miller-compensated technique. The design procedure for the two-stage amplifier is applicable for higher-order amplifier designs. The amplifiers were incorporated into a switched-capacitor oscillator where the oscillation harmonics are dependent on the settling behaviour of the op amps. The superior settling response of the proposed compensation technique results in a improved output waveform from the oscillator.

The Graphic Authoring Platform of Screenplays for Robotic Puppet Shows

Siao, Jhih-Jhong 12 September 2012 (has links)
With the development of the network, people are increasingly used to exchanging information on the Internet. Therefore, the capability of robot controller should not be limited to control robots locally. The objective of this thesis is to provide a system, the screenplay based performance platform of Robotic puppet shows (SBPP), commanding multiple robots; each robot performing its own role based on a script composed by the developed authoring tool. Wherever and whenever a user wants to use SBPP, he/she just needs connect to the network and begins to design a script. SBPP consists of three parts: the graphic authoring platform (GAP) of screenplays for robotic puppet shows, the screenplay interpreter (SI) for multi-morphic robots, and robots themself. The work of this thesis is concentrated on the implementation of the GAP and robots (model: DARwIn-OP) control. The GAP provides options for a variety of robots to users. The users can easily design their own robot scripts merely by drag-and-drop operating on icons representing the actions, behavior, and short scripts, respectively. Whenever a script is created or updated, GAP will automatically save the script as an XML file format internally. In addition, robots can be conducted to express their emotions orally by utter the lines composed. The system is demonstrated by a play of ¡§do-as-I-do¡¨ and recoded in a video at YouTube:¡¨ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8ErTOgAQSo¡¨.

A Study of Edward Grieg's Sechs Lieder, op. 48

Sun, Yung-Wei 19 January 2006 (has links)
Norwegian nationalist composer Edvard Grieg composed one hundred and eighty songs, including songs in Norwegian, Bokmal, German, and Danish. The Sechs Lieder, Op. 48 was written in German texts, which Grieg successfully merged the style of High Romantic Lieder with his Norwegian cultural background. This lecture-recital document contains the following four main sections: Grieg¡¦s biographical information, the musical characteristics of Grieg¡¦s art songs, the background of his composing the Sechs Lieder, Op. 48, and a performance analysis of the Sechs Lieder, Op. 48. The work captures the essence of German Lieder with its text painting and expressive piano accompaniment, and has earned a well-deserved place in the German Lieder repertoire, despite the fact that Grieg does not have German nationality.
