Para tanto, fundamentamo-nos na Linguística Cognitiva, em estudos das metáforas em sua perspectiva discursiva, seguindo a abordagem da Metáfora Sistemática de Cameron (2003, 2007) e Cameron e Deignan (2009), bem como ancorando-nos nos trabalhos de Berber Sardinha (2007), Schröder (2008), Vereza (2010) e Cortez (2012). Para a análise, selecionamos, em acervo digital, a cobertura jornalística do Correio Braziliense online sobre a aprovação da PEC das Domésticas, no período de 27 de março a 31 de junho de 2013, constituindo um corpus de 55 notícias. A princípio, enfocamos na observação de veículos metafóricos que permitiriam a emergência de metáforas novas sobre a segunda abolição e em virtude da não-presença de tais veículos em diversas notícias, categorizados em veículos utilizados pelo jornal e pelos atores sociais presentes nas notícias, construímos um corpus restrito de 20 notícias. A partir dessa ação, ao examinarmos as notícias e os veículos metafóricos, propomos a emergência de quatro metáforas sistemáticas na cobertura jornalística, a saber: (1) APROVAÇÃO DA PEC DAS DOMÉSTICAS É SEGUNDA ABOLIÇÃO; (2) COTIDIANO DO EMPREGADO DOMÉSTICO É UM REGIME SERVIL; (3) PEC DAS DOMÉSTICAS É UMA MUDANÇA SOCIAL; e (4) SER EMPREGADO DOMÉSTICO NO BRASIL É SER ESCRAVO. Por meio de nossas análises, compreendemos que as metáforas sistemáticas, por sua natureza discursiva, permitem observar a elaboração metafórica como um processo de construção discursiva presente nas práticas sociais cotidianas atuando como um orientador na compreensão dos eventos em que emergem as metáforas. Nesse sentido, a metáfora da segunda abolição se apresenta como uma categorização do trabalho e do trabalhador doméstico brasileiro e como um frame norteador da compreensão a respeito do evento aprovação da PEC das Domésticas.

The objectives of this work is residual lifetime of heaters in petrochemical industry. There is no comprehensive publication about this theme. This paper lists and describes the most of main phenomena that has to be taken into account in the process of determination of residual lifetime. This paper focuses on creep damage of a real heater based on deformation measurement. It describes some heater failures that could cause unplanned operation interruption however, appropriate intervention made possible safe heater operation until planned heater shutdown. No compact method is given how to determine heater residual lifetime, but a direction is given how a complex method of residual lifetime assessment of refinery heaters could be created.

CFD modelování toku partikulárních látek v rotační peci / CFD modelling of granular flow in rotary kiln

This work deals with modeling the flow of particulate matter in rotary kilns. For this purpose, a combined CFD and Discrete Element Method (DEM) model was used. Using Ansys Fluent software, several simulations were performed in order to determine the mean residence time and movement of the material in the rotary drum dryer. Results of the computational model were used to develop a regression model of the mean residence time and compared to the values as given by empirical equations. Furthermore, a simplified sensitivity analysis was performed for the selected input parameters of the model such as the stiffness constant, air mass flow rate and the particle size.

TiO2/Cu2O composite based on TiO2 NTPC photoanode for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting under visible light

Water splitting through photoelectrochemical reaction is widely regarded as a major method to generate H2 , a promising source of renewable energy to deal with the energy crisis faced up to human being. Efficient exploitation of visible light in practice of water splitting with pure TiO2 material, one of the most popular semiconductor material used for photoelectrochemical water splitting, is still challenging. One dimensional TiO2 nanotubes is highly desired with its less recombination with the short distance for charge carrier diffusion and light-scattering properties. This work is based on TiO2 NTPC electrode by the optimized two-step anodization method from our group. A highly crystalized p-type Cu2O layer was deposited by optimized pulse potentiostatic electrochemical deposition onto TiO2 nanotubes to enhance the visible light absorption of a pure p-type TiO2 substrate and to build a p-n junction at the interface to improve the PEC performance. However, because of the real photocurrent of Cu2O is far away from its theoretical limit and also poor stability in the aqueous environment, a design of rGO medium layer was added between TiO2 nanotube and Cu2O layer to enhance the photogenerated electrons and holes separation, extend charge carrier diffusion length (in comparison with those of conventional pure TiO2 or Cu2O materials) which could significantly increase photocurrent to 0.65 mA/cm2 under visible light illumination (>420 nm) and also largely improve the stability of Cu2O layer, finally lead to an enhancement of water splitting performance.

Solar Driven Photoelectrochemical Water Splitting For Hydrogen Generation Using Multiple Bandgap Tandem Of Cigs2 Pv Cells And Thin Film Photocatalyst

The main objective of this research was to develop efficient CuIn1-xGaxS2 (CIGS2)/CdS thin film solar cells for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting to produce very pure hydrogen and oxygen. Efficiencies obtained using CIGS2 have been lower than those achieved using CuInSe2 and CuIn1-xGaxSe2. The basic limitation in the efficiencies is attributed to lower open circuit voltages with respect to the bandgap of the material. Presently, the main mechanism used to increase the open circuit voltage of these copper chalcopyrites (CuInSe2 and CuInS2) is the addition of gallium. However, addition of gallium has its own challenges. This research was intended to (i) elucidate the advantages and disadvantages of gallium addition, (ii) provide an alternative technique to the photovoltaic (PV) community to increase the open circuit voltage which is independent of gallium additions, (iii) develop highly efficient CIGS2/CdS thin film solar cells and (iv) provide an alternative material in the form of CIGS2/CdS thin film solar cells and an advanced technology in the form of a multiple bandgap tandem for PEC water splitting. High gallium content was achieved by the incorporation of a highly excess copper composition. Attempts to achieve high gallium content produced reasonable but not the best solar cell performance. Few solar cells developed on a molybdenum back contact and an ITO/MoS2 transparent conducting back contact showed a PV conversion efficiency of 7.93% and 5.97%, respectively. The solar cells developed on the ITO/MoS2 back contact form the first generation CIGS2/CdS thin film solar cells and 5.97% is the first ever reported efficiency on an ITO/MoS2 transparent back contact. Reasons for the moderate performance of these solar cells were attributed to significant porosity and remnants of unsulfurized CuGa alloy in the bulk of CIGS2. This was the first attempt to a detailed study of materials and device characteristics of CIGS2/CdS thin film solar cells prepared starting with a highly excess copper content CIGS2 layer. Next, excess copper composition of 1.4 (equivalent to gallium content, x = 0.3) was chosen with the aim to achieve the best efficiency. The open circuit voltage was enhanced by depositing an intermediate layer of intrinsic ZnO between CdS and ZnO:Al layers. The systematic study of requirements for such a layer and further optimization of its thickness to achieve a higher open circuit voltage (which is the greatest challenge of the scientific community) forms an important scientific contribution of this research. The PV parameters for CIGS2/CdS thin film solar cell as measured officially at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory were: open circuit voltage of 830.5 mV, short circuit current density of 21.88 mA/cm2, fill factor of 69.13% and photovoltaic conversion efficiency of 11.99% which sets a new world record for CIGS2 cells developed using sulfurization and the open circuit voltage of 830.5 mV has become the "Voc champion value". New PEC setups with the RuS2 and Ru0.99Fe0.01S2 photoanodes were developed. RuS2 and Ru0.99Fe0.01S2 photoanodes were more stable in the electrolyte and showed better I-V characteristics than the RuO2 anode earlier used. Using two CIGS2/CdS thin film solar cells, a PEC efficiency of 8.78% was achieved with a RuS2 anode and a platinum cathode. Results of this research constitute a significant advance towards achieving practical feasibility and industrially viability of the technology of PEC hydrogen generation by water splitting.

The author reaches the conclusion that career theories does enable a better understanding of how individuals make career- and educational choices and argues that knowledge of career theories is, and should be relevant for the guidance counsellors professional role.

Regulated complex assembly protects cells from aberrant Sleeping Beauty transposition events

Transposons sind genetische Elemente, die fähig sind, sich innerhalb des Genoms zu bewegen. Sleeping Beauty (SB) gehört zur Tc1/mariner-Superfamilie von Transposons. SB wurde aus molekularen Fossilien rekonstruiert um u.a. einen sicheren und effizienten Vektor für die Gentherapie zu schaffen. Zu diesem Zweck ist es notwendig, den Mechanismus der SB-Transposition und deren Regulation, die Aktivitäten des Proteins und den Einfluss von Wirtsfaktoren genau zu verstehen. In meiner Arbeit habe ich die einzelnen Schritte des Transpositionsprozesses und die Bildung des sogenannten paired-end complex (PEC) – eine Voraussetzung für die folgenden katalytischen Reaktionen – untersucht. Zusätzlich habe ich versucht, einen in vitro Transpositionstest für SB zu etablieren. SB gehört zur IR/DR-Gruppe der Tc1/mariner-Superfamilie. Im Gegensatz zu mariner-like-Elementen ist die IR/DR-Struktur von SB durch lange IRs mit insgesamt vier Bindestellen für die Transposase gekennzeichnet. Ich habe die Fähigkeit dieser beiden Transposon-Systeme zum Ausschneiden eines Transposonendes ohne die Beteiligung des anderen Endes im PEC getestet. Solche unpräzise Transposition kann zu genomic rearrangements führen. Meine Ergebnisse zeigen, dass SB zwar imstande ist, ein einzelnes Transposonende auszuschneiden, dies geschieht jedoch weit weniger effizient als bei mariner-like-Elementen. Die Unterdrückung unpräziser Transpositionsereignisse ist ein Ergebnis der besseren durch die IR/DR-Struktur bedingten Regulation von SBs Transposition. Die Komplexität der IRs in Kombination mit der zweiteiligen DNA-Bindedomäne von SB kann als Mittel einer raffinierten Regulation des Transpositionsprozesses angesehen werden, welche das Genom vor anormalen Transpositionsereignissen schützt. Die Ergebnisse meiner Arbeit legen ein Modell nahe, in dem die Bildung des PEC während der Transposition von SB ein höchst genau regulierter Prozess ist, der durch die DNA-Protein- und Protein-Protein-Bindeaffinitäten geleitet wird. / Transposons are pieces of DNA able to move within the genomes. Sleeping Beauty is a verterbrate Tc1/mariner transposon reconstructed from molecular fossils to create a safe and efficient vector for gene therapy. For that purpose it is important to deeply understand the mechanism and regulation of the SB transposition, the activities of the transposase and influence of host factors on the process. Therefore, in this project I studied the single steps of the transposition reaction and formation of the paired-end complex (PEC) which is a prerequisite for the subsequent catalytic steps. Additionally, I tried to establish an in vitro transposition assay for Sleeping Beauty that would serve an easy assay for testing the system and probe mechanisms affecting the regulation of transposition activity. Sleeping Beauty belongs to the IR/DR subfamily of the Tc1/mariner-like transposons. In contrast to mariner-like elements the IR/DR structure of SB is characterized by long IRs with four binding sites for the transposase. I compared the ability of the two systems to perform cleavage of the single transposon end without including the second end in the PEC. Such imprecise transposition can lead to genome rearrangements. My results show that SB is capable of single-end cleavage; however, to much lower extent than the mariner-like element. Lower number of imprecise transposition events is a result of better regulation of the SB transposition imposed by the IR/DR stucture. The complexity of the inverted repeats together with the bipartite DNA-binding domain of SB might offer means for more sophisticated regulation of the transposition process, thereby protecting the genome from aberrant transposition events. I propose that complex formation in SB transposition is a strictly regulated ordered assembly process, guided by DNA-protein and protein-protein interaction interfaces of the DNA-binding subdomains. Obtained results allowed me to draw a model how the paired-end complex is formed.

Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar as iniciativas empreendidas no Brasil para certificar em nível superior grandes contingentes de professores da educação infantil e séries iniciais do ensino fundamental, em uma abordagem que busca contemplar tanto o nível macro como micropolítico. Para atingir tal objetivo se efetuou um levantamento dos programas especiais e cursos dessa natureza criados no Brasil entre 1990 e 2000 para certificar professores nesse nível, buscando relacionar essa configuração com o contexto internacional, sobretudo, a América Latina e a Europa (com destaque para o contexto francês). Com vistas a compreender como as políticas e iniciativas tomadas em plano governamental são traduzidas em nível local, buscou-se por meio de uma pesquisa empírica acompanhar a execução de um programa, sobretudo, para tentar compreender as apropriações que os docentes fizeram desse tipo de experiência de formação e os saberes por eles produzidos nesse contexto peculiar. O trabalho de campo, realizado nos moldes de um estudo de caso, foi desenvolvido junto a uma turma de alunos-professores do PEC Formação Universitária Municípios/São Paulo (2003-2004). Os dados foram analisados à luz dos conceitos de habitus, campo e capital simbólico de Bourdieu, da idéia de homem plural de Lahire e das concepções de tática e estratégia de Certeau. Ao enveredar por tais caminhos e análises, a investigação permitiu verificar que a formação de professores em serviço é uma preocupação internacional, alvo de iniciativas e políticas em todas as regiões analisadas. Um discurso comum tem sido adotado na área, ainda que traduzido em sentidos e ações muito diversas nos âmbitos locais. No caso específico brasileiro, do ponto de vista institucional e administrativo pode-se dizer que um sucesso relativo tem sido alcançado, já que milhares de professores foram certificados em nível superior em curto espaço de tempo. No caso do PEC Formação Universitária (São Paulo), do ponto de vista de seu funcionamento, por um lado, o estudo de caso revelou que aspectos não previstos pelos organizadores do Programa foram os principais responsáveis pela satisfação dos alunos-professores como, por exemplo, o processo de socialização profissional proporcionado, especialmente, pelo contato diário entre eles nos pólos onde se desenvolveram as atividades durante os dois anos de execução do programa. Por outro lado, ações previstas e por vezes adaptadas institucionalmente foram alvo de muitas críticas tanto por parte dos alunos-professores como dos agentes educacionais envolvidos, cujas manifestações apareceram na maioria das vezes sob a forma de resistência à academização da formação docente oferecida naqueles moldes. Entretanto, um dado importante deve ser ressaltado: a execução de programas especiais de formação em serviço, tal como se configurou no PEC Formação Universitária, permite à universidade conhecer mais de perto a escola e os professores, abrindo perspectivas de uma colaboração mais efetiva entre essas duas instituições formativas. Dentro desse escopo, a tese finaliza com propostas que visam a contribuir com projetos futuros que venham a repensar a organização e execução de programas dessa natureza e porte. / This research had as its goal to analyze the initiatives that have been undertaken in Brazil to certify at college level big contingent of teachers from childhood education and initial grades at the primary school, in an approach that tries to contemplate both the macro and the micro political level. In order to reach this goal, a survey was conducted about the special programs and courses created in Brazil from 1990 to 2000 to certify teachers at this level trying to relate this configuration with the international context, mainly Latin America and Europe (emphasizing the French context). With the purpose to understand how the policies and initiatives taken at governmental level are performed at the local level, this was searched by means of an empirical research to accompany the execution of a program, especially to try to understand the adaptations that the teachers did concerning this type of experience of formation and the knowledge produced by them in this peculiar context. The fieldwork, was done according to a case study, and was developed with a group of students- teachers of PEC College Education City Council/ São Paulo (2003- 2004). The data were examined according to the concepts of habitus, field and symbolic capital by Bourdieu, the idea of plural man by Lahire and the concepts of tactic and strategy by Certeau. In setting out for these paths and analysis, the investigation allowed to verify that the formation of teachers in-service is an international preoccupation, object of initiatives and policies in all regions analyzed. A common discourse has been adopted in the area, which was still translated in very diverse senses and actions at the local ambit. In the specific Brazilian case, in the institutional and administrative point of view it can be said that a relative success has been reached, once thousands of teachers were certified at college level within a short period of time. In the case of PEC College Education (São Paulo), from the point of view of its functioning, the case study revealed that the aspects not foreseen by the Program were principally responsible for the satisfaction of the students-teachers such as the process of professional socialization provided, specially, by the daily contact among them in the places where the activities took place during the two years of accomplishment of the program. On the other hand, the actions foreseen and sometimes adapted institutionally were the target of a lot of criticisms both by the studentsteachers and the educational agents involved, whose manifestations appeared most of the time under the form of resistance to the academification of teacher formation being offered in those patterns. However, an important fact has to be emphasized: the accomplishment of the special programs of formation in-service, as it was formed at PEC College Formation, allows the university to know the school and the teacher closer, opening perspectives of a more effective collaboration between both of these institutions which are formative. Within this purpose, the thesis ends with proposals that aim to contribute for future projects that rethink the organization and accomplishment of programs of this type and consistency.
